  My mother bought a Satellite A105-S4284 during a stay in the States. DVD - RAM UJ - 841S with her drive is set to 1 in the region for DVD playback, I want to get it on region 2.   If it s a laptop capable of vista then I see no reason why the laptop doesn't have to support Windows Vista.
  It of a fact that, this time no Vista drivers are available on the Toshiba page. (I put t found any)
  I guess we will be able to download the drivers in the next few weeks.

  PS: I installed the RC2 release of my camera and it works without any additional driver. Only the wifi card does not work, but I can live with them

  Have you tried to update the drivers of USB port?

  You should try this;
  -Disconnect all USB devices the USB ports.
  -Go to the Device Manager and remove all the USB root hub and all USB host controllers.
  -Restart the laptop

  Looks like something in your system is really messed up. Because you won´t be advised to recover your machine, so I can't give you any suspicion because that would REALLY be the one and the only option to solve this problem.

  If some software Toshiba uninstall NOT etc then it won´t repair itself, or it can be sorted out by re-installled or force too install apps...
  Maybe you make you a few remarks and then save your files in order to recover your machine?

  I don't know where you come from, but AFAIK the Satellite A105-S361 was designed and delivered to the United States. It seems that this laptop is an American unit.
  Generally, it is possible to order recovery at the Toshiba service partner media but I don't know about the U.S. market.
  But I think you should ask the AEP from Toshiba in your country for these media. In my opinion, it should be possible to order this CD.

  I can't tell you how much would it cost to fix these two things, but I can tell you that you buy rather a new machine because the display and motherboard are the most expensive parts in your machine. Since your ports USB and your RJ11 (phone port) don't work anymore and this stuff is on the motherboard, I guess you have to swap the motherboard, too.

  I suggest you to sell your machine @ ebay and buy another. It would be too expensive to fix your machine. Believe me, I had a case of simiar and parts cost more then buy a new machine that was more recent and better performance.

  On the Toshiba site, it lists only 4 drivers for XP for my model, even if that's what it came installed with. The video driver list and sound do not yet work for me.

  At the moment the page provides a display driver nVidia GeForce (v83.02, 19/01/2006)

  I also found a driver of his right. It s a Realtek audio driver.
  If you need a more recent version, then I recommend to visit the site Web of Realtek and download the newest one.

  But note; the XP SP2 operating system needs and before install you the audio driver you must first install the Microsoft Hotfixes; KB888111 and KB835221
  After the installation of these two patches, you can follow with another audio driver installation.

  It also seems that this notebook would support an Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection - 10/100 Base-TX Lan card
  So, you can visit the Intel page to get the right Win XP driver for this Lan chip.

  What operating system you have installed on your C660? Have you installed the latest Service Pack before you begin with the installation of the driver?

  If you have installed all the drivers, no yellow exclamation point shouldn't be in Device Manager. Did you check that?
