Satellite A110-156: DVD - RW is vice

Hello

I have a satellite A110-156; the DVD - RW drive is defective;

Toshiba told me to send it to a repair station to swap the drive (costs high; about 150)
I can do myself, but what is a compatible player?

This model has the LG gsa-t10n, but I can't find a store that sells one;
There are newer models like the LG gsa t40n but idon't know if it is compatible

Is there maybe a list somewhere with compatibel readers; the manual does not say much about it.

Thanks in advance

Werner

Of course you can replace the CD/DVD of yourself.
You only need the compatible CD/DVD player.

I think that your user manual should provide some info what CD/DVD drive would be compatible.

Welcome them

    Each time by commissioning!

After a while, I finally found the solution - Alas - this weekend, I had to reinstall my laptop has forgotten what was the solution.
I have the same driver, version 703014 on the toshiba site and unfortunately the same problem.

I already tried to install the drivers by hardware programs, it has not helped!

    Hello

Maybe you need to configure the touchpad again?

I think that you will find the touchpad settings in Control Panel-> mouse.
There you have to get the touchpad entry, I don't know if you have to have the properties or settings, but this option should be available to get advances settings touchpad m.

The A110-156 seems to be a series of PSAB0E
If you are using Vista, then you have updated the BIOS to the version 5, 20-WIN because this BIOS is only for the use of Vista!

  • Satellite A110 - Pioneer DVD - RW DVR-K16A is broken

It is possible that the pilot program is damage?

    I have a Pioneer DVD - RW DVR-K16A.
But I did not now what to do, can someone help me?
    Marco GR

    Hello

First of all, you should check in Device Manager if the CD/DVD drive can be recognized correctly. If there is no yellow exclamation, then the software (driver) does not run correctly!

In such cases, it s advisable to remove the ODD (CD/DVD drive) Device Manager and restart the laptop. After restarting again the operating system should recognize and must initialize the disk again.

    Please check first!
    Best regards

  • Need of recovery of the Satellite A110-228 DVDs

I need a recovery dvd for this laptop because he won 't longer boot.
    Can I order or download?
    Thank you

Your Satellite is quite old and I think that you can not order more. Recovery image is not downloadable, so this option is also not a solution for you.

You can try to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask them if they have this disc.
What you can do is to install a clean operating system. All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities that you can find on Toshiba download page under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > download & support.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Satellite A110-231-CD/DVD drivers for Windows 7

    Hi all

I bought my laptop Toshiba Satellite A110-231 in Spain in January 2007. Provided with Windows XP, it has created a "Windows Vista ready" label. I installed Windows Vista and the components of the computer worked well. Now, I just installed Windows 7, but the CD/DVD drive (Pioneer K16A) not be recognized. Guess Windows Vista and Windows 7 have the same system requirements, so how can I I make my DVD player work on this OS?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

What do you mean by saying not recognized?
The CD/DVD drive is not visible in the Device Manager or what?

What the BIOS has said? The STRANGE is recognized in the BIOS?

Generally, the CD/DVD drive using the own Microsoft drivers and it should work with Win XP, Vista and Win 7.

    Please also read this MS knowledge base article;
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/270008/en-us

You can remove the upper and lower filters

    Hi Luis

This can really be a problem with the hardware of the CD/DVD drive
Maybe the ODD died and only replacement players will help you.

But as Akuma already said, you must contact the ASP for and check.
Guys should be able to provide clarification, perhaps there is a little chance for fixing without replacement.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A110: I want to play a DVD but it says: not compatible

    Hi I have a question.
I have a toshiba satellite a110. But when I want to play a dvd, it says:
    is not compatible...
    :(

Can't watch movies, how to... :(

I have installed some software dvd - ram also uninstalled, restarted the laptop.

    Someone?

    Hello

Are you using the Windows operating system that has been preinstalled on the A110 Sat?
AFAIK almost all Toshiba laptops come with WinDVD program.
I also assume the Sat A110 supports this software and you must use it to play the DVD s.

One question; What DVD did you play? An original or a copy?
The portable DVD Player supports different DVD region code settings.

Please check if the region code that was chosen on the CD/DVD drive supports your DVD media!

For example; you will not be able to play the DVD we s if the region has been set for region 2

  • Driver DVD-RAM on Satellite A110-149 problem

I recently received my copy of Express Upgrade to Windows Vista and I installed it as described in the user guide.

The first time Windows Vista ran normally and I had no problem with my DVD-RAM. But then, after having upgraded from windows it asked me to reboot. When I rebooted my computer Windows Vista does not recognize the DVD-RAM driver.

I searched the Web from Toshiba site, this driver but I couldn't find it. I just find drivers Windows XP, which could not be installed.

Do you have anyone had the same problem, or knows where I can get this driver?

    My laptop is a Satellite A110 - 149 (PSAB6E) and the DVD-RAM is a CARPET * a DVD-RAM UJ - 841S

    Hello

usually, a DVD-RAM needs no driver, it must be recognized automatically. Have you ever tried to remove the drive in system properties and restart the system?

Windows should install correctly after that. If this isn't the case, please make a comment.

  • Satellite A110-293 Windows does not start at the top. Ntoskrnl. No recovery CD

I have a Toshiba Satellite A110-293 with Windows XP. I've upgraded to Vista a few months ago. One day, I turned on my laptop computer and got the following error message:

+ "Unable to start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To solve the problem: +.
+ 1. Insert your Windows installation disc, and then restart your computer. +

+ Info: Windows failed to load because a required file is missing or corrupt.

I do * not * have my original CD or Vista Upgrade DVD, because I'm a foreigner for a few months.
I tried to get a CD of restoration via the website (https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/serial.aspx), but he said:
+ "Your device no way recovery can be ordered, because he is not from the area of Toshiba Europe, or he is too old for this service." +

    Help!

    Hello

I presume that you can order only the latest Toshiba Vista recovery DVD using this from Toshiba Web site.

If you need a recovery (Win XP) for this older satellite series CD, then you will need to contact the ASP (authorized service provider) in your country.

However, you can use a Microsoft XP CD to the original address to repair or reinstall the operating system.

By the way; have you tried to boot the operating system in safe mode by pressing the F8 key?
Please check this box. Maybe it's possible.

  • Satellite A110-178 - burn audio CDs including CD-text

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A110-178. I would like to create an audio CD (.wav files) including cd-text (Yes, data such as artist, album, etc.).

I tried to add cd-text using several different programs (Nero, to Acoustica CD burner, etc), but when I burn the CD, cd-text is not available.

Now, I have learned that your cd burner must also be able to burn cd-text. apparently, not all cd burners have this ability.
Do you know if the cd in my Toshiba burner is capable of burning these data?

    Thanks & best regards,
    Oliver

    Hello

As far as I know it of not possible to include the CD-text on Audio CD. That s me don't know.
On MP3 discs - it possible to s, s no problem.

In any case, to check this function you mean, it is important to know the exact model of the DVD/CD player. You can check in the Device Manager. Then you can ask Google for detailed specifications. :)

I would like to reset my 5 + years Satellite A110-225 to the original factory setting. I don't have a dvd or anything. How to go?

    Regards, Rob

Only way to have the factory settings is to install the recovery image original Toshiba designed for your laptop model.

Anyway, visit https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx and check if your model is listed.

  • Satellite A110-293 hangs in hibernation mode

Toshiba Satellite A110-293 is suspended in the mode hibernate after opening the cover of the laptop. Nothing happens after tapping the keyboard, the mouse clicking or any other activity (i.e. opening DVD - ROM etc..)
The cover was closed as usual with some running programs. After about 10 minutes, I tried to open but the whole system was in hibernation and he's still asleep.

Please help me to restart (fix or smth) laptop, because I have not found any restart button.
    Thanks in advance.

hibernating your computer is off; "Hibernate" State is very different from 'sleep' (in which the system is not completely off)
    Take a look at:
    (1) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hibernate_%28OS_feature%29
    (2) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standby_mode
so... you have to press the power button to 'wake up' a computer that was previously placed in hibernation. have you tried to press the power button?

  • Satellite A110 - content of the recovery disk #2 - what it is?

    Hello

Just had to use my due to a hard disk crash recovery disks.
    (Satellite A110)
Everything is very good, thanks again ;-)

But I noticed that only recovery disk #1 has been used to restore my system.
So I wonder: what is the content of the files on the #2 recovery disk?

And how do you reach these files?

And where do you need to?

    Hello

I'm not very well why you received two recovery disks m
As far as I know the Vista recovery image was stored on one DVD this second disc should not be necessary

What files are stored on that second drive? You can check this?

  • Satellite A110-159 restarts no CD

    Hello

My Toshiba Satellite A110-159, Windows XP SP3 contains a system error and does not restart (not in safe mode). start the computer by using the last known good configuration does not work either. I also tried to change in the BIOS boot order, put the CD/DVD first started, but that did not help.

Problems occurred after trying to clean my system of a virus antivirlock.com by virus scan AVG running from the command prompt in safe mode. I think that some of my registry I messed up.

It keeps giving a blue screen with the following error message:

    STOP: c000021a {fatal system error}
The Windows Logon Process system process ended unexpectedly with the status of 0xc0000034 (0x00000000 0 x 0000000)
The system has been turned off.

.. .and then it restarts again. He is not able to open the windows or anything like that.

I decided to restart my system using Toshiba recovery disks. (I have a resumption of Norton Ghost of my C drive on an external drive and a plan to replace it once I have the system in factory again).

Following the instructions that I inserted the recovery disc 1/2, you press F12 and in the selected Menu de Boor:
    CD/DVD MAST * ADVD-RAM UJ - 841 - S (SM)
    and then you press ENTER.

And then it gives a window where he begins to check for Realtek Ethernet or something, can't find (no cable atttached) and then starts loading Windows and which gives the familiar blue screen and reboot again.

Therefore, it does not recognize or read the CD in the drive. I searched other threads for clues, but most gives options to change something in the registry, install drivers, etc.. I can't do anything about that, because Windows does not start.

Can someone tell me how to get my laptop working again? Thank you very much in advance.

    Best regards, Ivo
