Satellite A110-293 hangs in hibernation mode

Toshiba Satellite A110-293 is suspended in the mode hibernate after opening the cover of the laptop. Nothing happens after tapping the keyboard, the mouse clicking or any other activity (i.e. opening DVD - ROM etc..)
The cover was closed as usual with some running programs. After about 10 minutes, I tried to open but the whole system was in hibernation and he's still asleep.

Please help me to restart (fix or smth) laptop, because I have not found any restart button.
Thanks in advance.

hibernating your computer is off; "Hibernate" State is very different from 'sleep' (in which the system is not completely off)
Take a look at:
(1) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hibernate_%28OS_feature%29
(2) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standby_mode
so... you have to press the power button to 'wake up' a computer that was previously placed in hibernation. have you tried to press the power button?

    Hello

I presume that you can order only the latest Toshiba Vista recovery DVD using this from Toshiba Web site.

If you need a recovery (Win XP) for this older satellite series CD, then you will need to contact the ASP (authorized service provider) in your country.

However, you can use a Microsoft XP CD to the original address to repair or reinstall the operating system.

By the way; have you tried to boot the operating system in safe mode by pressing the F8 key?
Please check this box. Maybe it's possible.

  • Bass is not good enough on my Satellite A110-293

I have a Toshiba Satellite A110 - 293 Notebook. There is a problem with the audio for laptop, the sound seems to lack Bass. When I play a music file, the bass is abnormal, there is no bass or bass is not clear. The laptop fitted with a Realtek HD Audio device and there the SRS technology, and it suppose to have a rich acoustic bass, bass suppose to be richer as a normal bass sound produced from a normal PC without SRS technology, but even there is no normal low in my book.

I adjusted the levels in virtual audio software Toshiba (SRS), I tried all the different configurations and I've adjusted at all levels, but still have the same problem, and even when I turn off Toshiba virtual sound software and I have the same problem. I tried media with their value default or modified diffusers graphic equalizer, but it has not solved the problem.

I use the PC Works 2.1 Creative speakers and even with the adjusted maximum bass, there is no low clear, there is nothing wrong with the speakers because I've tested on another PC and they work no doubt, I also tried different types of speakers on the laptop but the problem still exists.

The laptop is equipped with Windows XP Home Edition, I reinstalled Windows using the recovery media, but still the same. I downloaded the audio driver for my laptop from Toshiba Web site and updated audio driver. I downloaded an updated version (R 1.64) of the official website of Realtek Realtek HD audio driver (the driver that comes with the laptop version is R1.36) and I've updated the audio driver on the laptop, but there is no change, and the Toshiba Virtual Sound not works with update audio driver.

I installed a new copy of Windows XP by using a Windows XP installation CD (not the same copy that comes with Notepad). I used the latest version of the sound driver that I downloaded from the site Web of Realtek (R1.64), the sound was functioning normally and that the bass is normal and obvious. But when I updated audio driver with the driver supplied with the laptop, the problem of bass is back.

I installed a new copy of Windows Vista, this Version of Windows can identify the audio device Realtek HD automatically, the sound worked well and there was no problem with the bass, when I have updated audio driver in Windows Vista with the form driver Toshiba site Web (V6.0.1.5334SRS), he continues to work properly without any problem on bass , and the sound quality was fine. So basically, when I install another copy of Windows and you are using a different version of the audio driver, the problem is solved.

It seems that the problem is with the original for laptop audio driver, (it is not a hardware problem) and the problem is that once the driver is installed on the laptop, the problem peut t be resolved then, because I tried to install a different audio driver, but the problem of bass will be not resolved, even when I tried to manually delete everything about driver original audio. I hope you can solve this problem for me because I want to use the Windows XP of origin provided with the laptop and I don't want to use a different copy or version of Windows.

    You presentation is very interesting.
I guess what he s hope a driver sound question let s that Toshiba will release a new audio driver update. This should help

  • Satellite A110-293 - sparkling backlight LCD

    Hello world

I use with widescreen LCD TOSHIBA Satellite A110-293. Since I bought my laptop, that I'm observing that the upper-left corner of the screen is brilliant. The problem arises when I reduce more brilliant for low levels of backlight. It also occurs when the LCD is witched and sudenly started. It is sometimes difficult to notice this 'problem', especially when you work with a high level of the most brilliant of the LCD screen, but when the past at lower levels, it irritates me. Computer is under warranty. I was wondering what should I do now and how to slove this problem.

I'm a little afraid to send the laptop to the service, because I heard some oppinions as if it's "not so big" or not easily noticeable service repair and send the laptop, make me pay for the transportatnion of the computer (it happens in Poland where I come from).

Another think I wanted to ask is that I have also spotted a large enough space or backslash on hinghes who hold the LCD. When opening screen you can feel that he can easily move forvard and backwards (1 cm) in other words they are not waterproof LCD hand. Is this normal after using the computer for the next few months?

Thank you very much and I am sory if I have a few mistakes 'English', during the writing of this post.

    Hello

If your problem does not so heavily bother you, then do the following: If you can find one near your city or your local authorized service partner, can wear the machine
by yourself for them. This, because you can explain deeply what is the problem and show them how the problem can be reproduced.

Otherwise, if I were you, I would write a LONG letter accompanied by a DETAILED explanation of your problem and tell them that your fear they won´t find the error and they should watch thouroghly
    to find this error.

As for the hinges, write this but increasingly on the letter, I think they'll just a few screws and the problem should be solved.

    Hello

For me, it looks like you don't have Toshiba drivers all installed and necessary.
Have you used the Toshiba recovery disc after the HARD drive has been replaced or have you installed the Windows XP using a clean CD Microsoft?

Please note that the common Module are very important!
You must install this software first!
The Toshiba Power Saver help you to enable Hibernate mode and also to access standby mode!

On the Toshiba European pilot page you will find all necessary drivers and you'll also find installation instructions.

  • Satellite A210-SP6812 hangs after hibernation with a Wi - Fi connected

I have a Satellite A210-SP6812 running with win XP SP3, and when I turn into suspend mode and later he attends the hibernation (I have the choice in Toshiba energy saving) it will, but after that you will wake up never the system again unless you reset the laptop.

It is important to note that this only happens when the WiFi is enabled (Realtek RTL 8187 (B). I'm updating this driver but nothing works. Once it happened when the laptop was inside my bag and despite the hibernate after the suspension, he hooked up with all coolers & heat inside was amazing.
An idea of the cause of it?

    Thanks for your support!

    Leo

Have you updated the BIOS? Perhaps the problem will be solved.

If it isn't, then it might be another problem in Windows. Maybe a 3rd driver is causing a conflict. Recovery time should solve the problem.

  • Satellite A215-S7444 - freezes after Hibernation mode

I have a Satellite A215-S7444 which is 2 years. It came with a 32-bit version of Vista. I just do a custom install of Windows7 64 bit. It seems that after coming out of standby the laptop hangs and I have to do a hard reboot.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

    Hello

Do you have also installed all the drivers for your laptop from the Web from Toshiba site? Make sure that there is no yellow exclamation point in Device Manager.

In addition, I would try to update the BIOS. You should find it here:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com > download

Before the BIOS update, close all running programs and make sure that you are logged on as administrator.

  • Satellite A110-293 - sound without a bass

    Hello

A I have a problem with Realtek High Definition Audio (SRS). The sound is metallic without bass and after install the drivers latest from Toshiba Web site in the Control Panel, it is not Realtek HD Audio Manager. I upgraded the BIOS to 5.10, then I reinstalled the system and the problem still exists. I'm using Vista Ultimate 32 bit.

On Windows XP sound is correct.

    Help me!

The laptop computer was originally shipped with Windows XP operating system preinstalled.
    Am I wrong?

The DD Realtek Audio Manager is only available in windows XP but not on windows Vista.

Have you tried the original page of Realtek driver?
    Check this box:
    http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=14&PFID=24&level= 4 & Conn = 3 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false

Remove all first you first installed the driver and get the Realtek page!
But to be honest I n don't know if it will help to improve the low quality.
Seems that this is a normal condition without installed HD Audio Manager

  • Vista satellite A110 - idle in hibernation

    Hello

I saw a Satellite A110-225, 2 GB memory and under Vista Home Premium.
When I was still running XP, when I closed the lid, he went to mode sleep for as long as I kept it closed.

Now I have installed Vista for 8 to 9 months and when I close the lid (or via the start menu) it goes too in standby mode. So far, so good. However, a random number of minutes or hours the system wakes up without touching me, for the treatment of certain data as preparation to go into hibernation. When he wakes up and I quickly open the lid, the screen remains white, I can't see anything.

This happens in 99.9% of the time when I put it in sleep mode. So sometimes after 15 minutes, other times after a few hours, he wakes up to go into hibernation. Sometimes, very, very sometimes it remains on standby.

I changed manually automatic updates to manual defragmentation, to and there is another option that I have disabled or changed manually (I forgot the name, though), I took the UTP cable, turn off WiFi to make sure was not a wake on LAN... but no luck! Turn it on, it out of hibernation, works very well... but I just want to use sleep mode.

Everything works well and really is the only problem I have with Vista and it starts to irritate me more every day.

Does anyone have an idea, what the problem?

    Hey Buddy,

Unfortunately there are won´t be anyone (I think including toshiba TEC) which could help you since the powersave program is just microsoft and toshiba.

The only thing you can do is to update your BIOS and watch out for the driver updates for your machine (like chipset or maybe you should check the site toshiba driver).

Otherwise, you must wait until MS brings some fixes for their buggy system, because I ve not tried to optimize my Vista and installed XP back. I'll wait until redmond will come out some piece of software to do this strange bugware calling Vista works PROPERLY. I Don t know if they are able to pronounce, but they know very well is the DOLLAR Word. :(

  • Satellite P100 will not stay in hibernation mode

    Hi everyone ~.

    Satellite P100
    Vista

Before going to bed, in that I always put my computer in hibernation. He won't stay in hibernation mode. I don't know fashion 'sleep' here.
I click on the Start button and then choose put into hibernation. It goes into hibernation and I go to bed, so I don't know when it will come out of hibernation.

I used to have to press the power button, get up and running after his hibernation. Along the front of the computer are 5 blue lights. I'll call them a, b, c, d and e.

d & e are usually off when I use the computer.

a, b, and c are on when I'm on the computer. When it goes into hibernation mode b turns off.

When I get up in the morning a, b and c are all back on and everything that I have to do is move my mouse around then newspaper instead of the first press of the power button.
I have a few scheduled tasks, but I've always had people.

Help, please. Is there a setting that I can do to take care of this problem? TIA

    Hello

Have you noticed the same thing with the mode sleep too?

Anyway, check it please Windows Update option and disable it. Click the settings (left) and make sure that the first option install updated is automatically disabled. Maybe your laptop starts each day at a time and try to do the update of audit.

    Test it!
