Satellite A200-1DY - file iastor.sys damaged when installing XP

Hello Toshiba users.

I bought a Satellite A200-1DY and I want to install Windows XP 32-bit. I used nLite to integrate controllers Manager storage, but when I boot the CD of Windows XP sudenlly it says that its corrupt iastor.sys (damaged in Spanish).

I wonder if its because only the file storage manager has two options the ICH7M and ICH8M and I don't know which to incorporate (I joined the ICH7M) or maybe the Windows XP that I use is the problem, but I tried diferent ones. Should I replace the file iastor.sys in the CD with the one I downloaded from the Toshibas Web page? If this is the case, where can I find this file on a Windows XP CD, I mean what dir?

If I'm not good as I say again once the problem is that the file iastor.sys is corrupted and it won't let me format my c drive to install Windows XP. Hope you can help me please, I would be very happy I'll be cheking the forum every day for today

cyaa

Hey Buddy,

Satellite A200-1DY is equipped with Intel ICH8M chipset so I think that s the problem because you only integrated drivers SATA ICH7M

You should try to create the disc using nLite and then include only files ICH8M.

You can download the Intel Storage Manager driver on the official website of Toshiba. It contains the correct and pre-tested driver for your model of laptop.

  • Where can I download Toshiba disc Creator for Satellite A200 - 1DY PSAE3E

Hello eveyone, in the last days I have install Vista Home premium 64 bit on my Satellite A200-1DY PSAE3E and unfortunately I lost the programs of Toshiba.

For me it was very useful toshiba disc creator, and I like donwnload if its possible, but I can't find this excellent program.

Can someone tell me where I can download this?

    Thank you

You can not download this software.
The creator of disc can be installed using only the Toshiba Recovery CD. The software is a part of the image on the recovery.

The point is that you bought the laptop with an OEM licenses and these additional software can be used in the framework of the image of Toshiba.

Unfortunately, but a full version cannot be downloaded. If you want to use it on a different operating system, you will need to buy

  • Re: Satellite A200-1DY - Vista 64bits 2.60 Bios is the same as 2.50?

    Hello

I have a strange problem in my Satellite A200-1DY, last Friday I tried to update my Bios.
First of all, I had a problem, I couldn't update because it gives me an error:
+ Update error - 200 has no update + or something like that of error checking.

Then I disabled in the winplash check option and everything works well, it seems like updating all blocks and finally the program restarted laptop but Bios still version 2.50 and it seems like nothing has changed. I didn't understand anything.

I have Vista x 64 but my computer was installed Vista x 32, and the strangest thing is that if I try to update the Bios after that format whith laptop Toshiba cd recovery Vista x 32 everyting works fine and I have no problems.

    Hello

Just a note; Satellite A200-1DY belongs to the series of PSAE3.

The Toshiba page provides three different BIOS for this laptop.
Currently, there is a BIOS 2.60 for Vista 32 bit and 64 bit and 5.6 for Win XP.

Three BIOS versions are different, and if you use the Vista 32-bit, you must use the BIOS designed for Vista 32 bit.

BIOS 2.5 is not the same as the BIOS 2.60 I think there is a difference

However, as far as I know the 32 bit Vista was preinstalled on this A200 series and the recovery disk should also contains the Vista 32 bit.

I put t know why the 2.5version is always visible on your A200 but I guess the BISO update has failed and may be related to the fact that the winplash check option has been disabled.

  • Windows XP Professional Setup copy iaStor.sys then the OS says that it cannot copy the file iaStor.sys.

After the RAID 0 disk partitioning, installing Windows says it will copy the files in the file system. The first file is iaStor.sys. My SATA CD drive runs for a few seconds, then there is a long pause, then the OS says that it cannot copy the file iaStor.sys. He goes on to say that I should check that there is a CD in the drive. Any ideas?

Here's the solution to this problem:

    1. in the disk driver (a:\) root directory create a directory called holiday of $ $OEM existing files as they are, we will not delete or replace anything.

    2. in the directory $ $OEM you have created, create another directory called TEXTMODE

    3. copy all the driver files located in the root directory to the A:\$OEM$\TEXTMODE subdirectory, try to reinstall, it should now work.

    Hello, Russell

A few days ago, I have similar problem on my Satellite P200. After you install a third-party application, I got BSOD every time when this application loads. I tried anything possible. To start in safe mode and change the boot options, OS restore to an earlier time using System Restore tool. I also tried to remove application preinstalled in safe mode but nothing has helped.

In the end, I installed OS using recovery DVDs.

So, in my case, I was sure why this happens. What is with you? This happens if you use some applications? What player and antivirus do you use?
The same happens when you try to use Microsoft's Disk Defragmenter?

  • Satellite A200 AH3 stops instead of standby when I close the lid

    Hello

I have a laptop Satellite A200 AH3. When I bought Windows Vista was preinstalled (I still drive recovery). When I closed the lid of the previous day (I mean the monitor turn off the HD, the cooling fan and all the rest). The light On / Off on the laptop turned to a flashing orange light.

Then I opened the lid and Windows prompted me to the logon screen. This process occurred when the laptop starts on the battery, not when it is plugged. Everything was going fine.

But I formatted the HD to install WIndows XP that I bought Windows vista seem to be too heavy for my laptop. So I installed Windows XP and the driver and the software available on the Toshiba site. Now when I close the lid, the Windows shut down very quickly (about5-6 seconds). However, it is a real firm. When I reopen it cover anything happen.

Then I press the power button / stop and start Windows, normally (no screen saying that windows close annormally and no Safe Mode boot option). Even if I change the setting in the control panel/power Option or the Toshiba Power Saver, utility and I put them to sleep, he always make a stop down.

    How do I restore that?

    Hello!

Have you downloaded the BIOS for Windows XP?
For the Satellite A200, there are two versions available; one for XP and one for Vista.

Also, make sure that you have the latest graphics card driver and keep your XP to date.

  • Re: Satellite A200-1DY: is the difference between 32-bit & 64-bit BIOS

I have laptop Satellite A200 and I doubt if there are differences between Vista 32 and 64 of the Bios. Or is the same Bios?

My question is because in the last days I installed Home Premiun 64 bits, but my Bios is for Vista 32-bit, but everything works fine on the laptop.

Should I change the Bios for 64-bit or 32-bit Bios should I leave?

    Thank you

    Hi again ;)

I think that there is a difference between the two versions of the BIOS; 32-bit and 64-bit, but please don t ask me what exactly is the difference. ;)
I didn t find details on the differences.

I guess that the BIOS 64-bit supports 64-bit processors and the 64-bit software benefits, but it is only a hypothesis

However, I think that you don t need to go to the BIOS version of 64-bit if your laptop running stable and using the 32-bit version without problem.

  • Satellite A200-24 c (PSAE6) - display crashes when the images are zoomed

Dear Sirs, I can't believe that there is no solution for the product that you produce. As my Toshiba I bought 14 months ago and try to fix it. I have a problem with my map displays 'ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600' when I see photos with Windows Photo Gallery and try to enlarge... display screen will hang and go with black and red blocks!

I tried to install all kinds of windows (XP - Vista Basic Ultimate). I tried to download all versions of catalyst for the version 6 and 9.7. So what is happening!

Do you know that most of my friends and the people hated the Toshiba brand because of this bad reputation on the market... remember that Toshiba laptops with Nvidia graphics card doesn't have the same problem. Please please please help me!

Your prompt response will be highly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Hello!

You have installed the Catalyst 9.7 driver. Don't know that this driver doesn't have protection against overheating and could destroy your graphics card?
I would recommend so install the latest driver of display on the Toshiba site. These drivers are pre-tested on your laptop.

In addition, I would try to update the BIOS. AFAIK some A200 models are special BIOS available for XP and Vista version.
    Check and update the BIOS!

  • Satellite A200-10 x and video crashes when the volume is high aid

every time I watch a video, and the volume is above a certain level (not even maxed out) the video begins to freeze and the entire system after that... If I turn down the volume of the small wheel at the front, sometimes he gets after several minutes, but some other times, it shows just the Blue error screen and restarts immediately... I almost tried everything... had more memory (2 GB), formatted and installed win 7 32, installed all the latest drivers for this version of windows...

I'm totally frustrated with this laptop... He had problems from the beginning, I mean, they have launched it with Vista Home and 1 GB of ram which was simply too small for the system working properly... So they forced just buy you mem more because you wouldn't be able to work.

If someone knows one any solution please help me

    > I have almost tried everything
Have you also tried to install original recovery image Toshiba (OS that you got with your laptop) and test it with the factory settings?
What videos you watch? A few stuff downloaded or original DVD movies?

When you look at the film and the sound is low is all OK?

I have Satellite P200 and it's the same as yours, but a bit bigger notebook with 17-inch screen. I have 2 GB of RAM inside, and it works perfectly with original Vista and now Win7 32 bit.

  • Satellite A200 - support Button does not start when windows starts

    Hey,.

Today, I decided to disable unnecessary programs as many as I could (to speed up my pc), so I went to Msconfig (I have vista home premium 32-bit) and a lot of things off. Including the "toshiba button support. The next time I restarted my additional buttons on the top of the keyboard all worked, next to one. Who normally turn on windows media player. This time, he did nothing at all. Game/resume, stop, forward, back and button internet all worked without problem.
However, I really liked the WMP button, so I tried to find out what the problem was. I discovered that it was the support of the key, so I decided to reactivate it.

However, this didn't not help: (.) I turned it in msconfig, but it does not start with windows more: (.) I know this is the program that I need, because when I run the program manually (this is the program: programfiles/toshiba/TBS/HSON.exe) the button works.
I put a V in front of the msconfig program, but it does not work. Anyone has an idea why not?

Edit: I found a solution, even if not the best. If anyone still has the same problem:
I made a shortcut for the program to run (can be found in C:programfiles/toshiba/SCT and is called HSON.exe). Then I clicked start and said 'all programs', here I chose the "opstarten" folder, it comes to the Dutch version, but my guess is it's called something like 'start-up' in English. In this regard, I glued (copy / cut-> paste) the shortcut to the program, and now he begins again :)

    Hello!

I agree with Akuma. You should try to reinstall the Toshiba value added Package. This determines media keys FN and all special functions on the laptop buttons.

  • Satellite A200: Should I remove the battery when working on the power supply

    Hello

I've been running an A200 machine for the last 2 months, bought as a desktop replacement in order to fit in my small apartment. I realize now that I never ued work on battery - it is always powered on sector. Since this is unlikely to change, should I remove the battery? Deing battery degrades remaining in the machine while it is continusouly by the industry feeding, or does it not matter?

Thank you very much in advance for your reviews.

    GW.

You can remove it, but it should not be done. For me, it's stupid to remove the battery and let the dust make the battery place dirty. The batteries we use today are very good and Scott wrote the electronic power supply just to check if the battery is full and care the battery and the battery capacity.

  • Satellite A200-1DY - need added package for Vista 64-bit

I can't find t value added package for 64-bit vista in any web update from Toshiba and I need because I installed the 64-bit version of Vista. It works fine but I need VAP and it seems that there is not.
Why Toshiba don't have PPV for vista 64?

Seems that the Toshiba VAP is not available for this model of laptop.
    Why? Who knows. ?:|

But from my experience, Toshiba VAP contains some applications that control certain features of the laptop as FN keys for example.

It seems that these applications have been outsourced and you can download it separately.
    For example this:
    _Flash cards support utility 1.48.0.3C_
This tool is required to use the Toshiba Flash Cards (FN + F *)
