Satellite A200 - BSOD in the final stage of the XP install 0x7b

Hello all, hope someone can help me?

Have done a lot of research on this subject, but so far, nothing seems to work, so I think I'm missing something.
I have a satellite Pro A200-Psae4e which is HARD drive has failed and had to be replaced. I have no access to records of original recovery :(

Laptop was already installed with XP pro, and bios is already bios XP for this model.
I nLite had sata drivers on a disc with xp pro oem and the appears during installation

Just at the end I geta bsod (0x7b) error.
I tried several install nLite with other sata drivers where I just get a corrupted error iastor.sys...

Can anyone think of something I missed as I'm slowly losing my hair with it.

Thank you
Merlin

Hello

On the European driver Toshiba page, you will find the Storage Manager 7.5.0.1017.
Download and unzip!
Then choose the F6flpy folder and include the files that are placed in the files ICH7M_32bit and ICH8M_32bit.

These SATA drivers are for 32 bit OS. I guess that your Windows XP is 32-bit.

Include it using nLite and try again!

IM wondering if anyone can help... I have a Toshiba Satellite A200, who, at the start, just comes up with a black screen and the "system of missing operating" in the upper left corner.

I looked for solutions on the net. Nothing is really done. I tried to start in safe mode using the F8 function key, but it did not work. I tried to boot from a vista recovery disk. That did not work. I tried to reinstall vista and it came just with the error 0 x 80070002. Im stuck and don't know how started it in safe mode so that I can transfer data and then reinstall vista (reimage) on this subject.

    Hello

Have you tried to get into the Bios and check if a hard drive is recognized? If not, the hard drive no longer works. If so, try to make another copy of Windows disk.

  • Satellite A200 BSOD would be the first time that I ever ran Win Update

    Hi all

I have a Satellite Pro A200 running professional Vista that I bought on October 11, 2007. Win Update never ran the first time, had the laptop then BSOD. I recovered using the recovery CD, and since then, I've left Win Update turned off.

Someone else with a similar machine did this happen to them?

Does anyone know what causes this?

What would be the Toshiba Support policy on this?

    Thank you all.

  • Satellite A200 - cannot downgrade the BIOS to v2.40

    Please help me.

I bought a brand new toshiba Satellite A200 series laptop with vista home premimum inside.

For some reason, I'm not a fan of big vista.
So I lowered my XP OS and as I was looking for pilots and all this for XP I saw an update of the Bios for my laptop it's 5.20 which was for XP. Although for Vista its 2.40 as per mentioned on the Web site.

    Now where my problems began.
I downloaded this v5.20 bios and updated.
Soon the problems began as laptop is overheated, it freezes and sometimes refuse to give performance.

As I was unable to find all my drivers for XP I switched to Vista using my recovery DVDs. But the problem remains the same with Vista too, so finally, I took my laptop to a Toshiba Service Center.

They have said that it is a motherboard problem so they fixed, but they have not set the Bios.
I still v5.20 on my machine.

I tried to go down to v2.40 but it always shows an error.

Can someone help me pls... I am able to boot with a USB but I don't have a version of DOS of Bios v2.40.

Please if anyone can provide me with my version of the bios.
I'll be grateful to her for ever.

    Here are my system specs.

    Date 2009-01-26 03:04:19

    [Information on PC]
    Model name Satellite A200
    Part number PSAFCL-01M00P

Not even this when I buyed the laptop he showed me 749 something like a shared graphics memory now it shows only about 399.

I know that it is simply because of this update of the Bios.
Now I am not yet able to play good games.
This machine is almost useless for me now.

No help from you people will get.

I put t know why you want to downgrade the BIOS.
Have you read the information on the site of Toshiba for BIOS version 5.20? I created this:
    > Support Windows XP and Vista OS

So I think that you should not downgrade the BIOS. The most recent BIOS 5.20 is for Windows XP and Vista.
You can find this information on Toshiba Asia because you have the model of Asia (not Europe):
    http://www.PC.Toshiba-Asia.com =>
Update BIOS version 5.20 Satellite A200 (for the PSAF0-* & PSAFC *-* ONLY)

The Toshiba Service Center did a good job with the latest BIOS.

  • Satellite A200 - BSOD after downgrading from Win Vista to XP Pro

    HII

    I bought a Satellite A200.
The windows vista family edition was the operating system that was installed.
Compatibility issue with a particular software that I use, I changed the vista by a XP Professional SP3.
But since then, the computer crashes and present a blue screen. I wish I had some ideas to solve this problem.

    Thank you

    Hello

The BSOD can be caused by the problem of hardware and software problem.
In your case it seems s due to software problem. Maybe a few compatibility problems between certain parts of the software

First you need to check if you are using the version of Win XP BIOS Yes this laptop needs a Win XP BIOS, which could be found on the European driver Toshiba page.

I m also interesting when the BSOD appears you installed Win XP successfully or it was not possible to install the XP because the BSOD?

If you were not able to install Win XP then I guess you don't have included SATA drivers participating in the crib on Intel Matrix Storage.

I recommend some threads here in the forum about this theme.

  • Satellite A200 - cannot find the sleep & Charge option in BIOS

I learned that turn on "sleep dependent" in the bios of my satellite A200 will help my iPhone to connect with iTunes without freeze him. I downloaded the latest bios (2.50) and cannot find anywhere that will allow me to turn on "sleep fresh".

    Can anyone help?

    Hello

If you can t find this option in the BIOS of your laptop doesn t are supported by this feature. With this feature, you can only load USB devices while laptop mode 'sleep'. It has nothing to do with the connection while the laptop is running.

So I doubt that it can fix your problem. You must look for an alternative.

  • Satellite A200 - crashes all the time

I have a 3 years Satellite A200, great machine until about 3 months ago, when he started crashing randomly. The first time, I'm sure it froze just where it was, but after that the screen would just be black. It happened more often and a lot to restart. Now, even with the recovery disk in it will take 5-6 attempts to restart before it will go even to the start screen. The machine is practically useless now, but when his work a few minutes everything is perfect.

I read on another site that other people have experienced similar problems and that it can be connected with the fan.

Anyone has any advice on how to fix this?

    Hi elight47,

Theoretically it could be connected with the fan because dust could block the fan and therefore, it would be necessary to clean the laptop using a jet of compressed air. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans. You can get this jet of compressed air from each computer store I think.

Also, here's an interesting article from Toshiba:

  • Satellite A200 - cannot change the language on the CD OEM Toshiba

Hoping to find help on how to change my Toshiba Satellite A200 language Spanish to English.

I asked a friend to buy me this laptop to Spain, unknowing it OEM came Spanish language and the recovery CD is only as only Spanish but I do not understand Spanish and I was wrong to go on the laptop because I don't want to click on the wrong thing in Spanish.

Even when I install programs, it automatically installs in Spanish and it's really frustrating.

    Someone HELP!

Your laptop was purchased in Spain, and therefore the Vista operating system is also in the Spanish language.
You cannot change it to English without buying a new drive for Microsoft Vista in English.

In some cases, it would be possible to install a MUI (Multilanguage) package for Vista, but it works with Vista Edition full (and businesses?)

  • Does not start Satellite A200 - checksum of the header file is possibly corrupted

Does my Toshiba Satellite A200 on Vista.

The following message appears on the screen: "the file is maybe damaged. The checksum of the file header does not match the checksum calculated.

I tried reinstall drive, but it does not solve the problem.
The following message is displayed: status: = xc0000428 (as well as instructions that do not seem to help at all).

    What can I do?

    Hello

You mean that the new installation of operating system using Toshiba Recovery disk didn't?
Hmmm, in this case, it seems like a RAM problem

I searched a bit on the net about this error and found some info that might be linked to the faulty RAM memory.

You should try to verify if a single one single module of RAM is affected.
Otherwise you need to replace the two modules and then should try reinstalling the operating system.

    Welcome them

  • Re: Satellite A200: Question about the Windows Vista serial key

I have a Toshiba Satellite A200 and I doubt, in everest, I can see the key of Windows Vista, but it's different to the Windows key in the tile to the bottom of the laptop.
I change anything in the laptop because I bought, I have use once the recovery cd, but I have not a pirate key or something like that.

    Why this different key?

    Post edited by: Admin

I agree with the user above.
The serial key you will find at the bottom of the device is not similar to the serial key that can be read using a few 3rd party applications!

But you don t need such series on your Toshiba laptop key.
The restore CD contains an image of Toshiba which is already activated!

  • Satellite A200 PSAF3A - upgrade the hard drive - data retention?

    Hello

I am working on a Toshiba Satellite A200 PSAF3A with a dying 160 GB Fujitsu 5400 RPM SATA drive installed.
I would like to replace the hard drive 400 GB 5400 RPM SATA drive in a car with a Fujitsu and transfer any existing information on it. I noticed that there is a standard C:\, a System Volume of Toshiba and a HDDRecovery partition on the current drive.

Can someone tell me if this is possible by using disk imaging software? If so, what are the issues could meet? (eg. new player will only recognize the old C:\ partition size etc.)

I have already created a backup of the drive image and all 3 partitions (as she made a lot of noise and possibly at its output) using shadow protect Desktop
Toshiba HDDRecovery & the System Volume partitions don't show in SPDesktop as the affected drive letters, so I don't know if I can restore using this program. Everyone has used successfully to achieve this result?

    pus
I also have a Ultimate Boot CD for Windows here, and have successfully used the Roadkills Disk Copy with a SATA Adapter USB to copy a C:\ on a laptop in the past. It would be a better approach? I was thinking of using this method because it must copy all 3 partitions, then just use GParted to resize C:\ to fill the rest of the available HARD disk space.

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Satellite A200 - I forgot the BIOS password

I have a TOSHIBA SATELLITE A200 model that I brought on Dec 2007.
I forgot the password I gave to the BIOS, and so far, of mar16th, I am unable to go in,

I tried to fix it through centres of local services to Chennai and Tirunelveli, but could not get the success.
I have also filed a complaint with TOSHIBA Service Center and went to TASHIBA in Chennai service center, and they said:

    (1) remove the BIOS chip could help, but it didn't
    (2) motherboard must be changed.

In fact, I set password BIOS and of POWERON the same thing, then...
Is there a way to remove the BIOS/POWERON password?

The details of my laptop are
    Model: PSAFCL-01M00P

    Hello

I wonder why the ASP in your country could not remove this password.
Usually, the unknown password can be removed only by technician ASP.
You will not be able to remove it!

You need the help of the ASP!
