Satellite A200-PSAF6A-0US01N doesn't recognize CD

My DVD-ROM won t recognize the CD but will read DVD; any suggestions?

I've used a rmvfltrs.exe file to get the DVD to read, but it won t read the CD.
ITunes also has a message error that says he won t CD rip or burn because there a lost file and I need to re - install.
Re-install iTunes always comes up with the same message...

    Hello

If the HARD drive is not recognized by the BIOS or other laptops, then I would say that your HARD drive is defective.
In this case, you need to replace the HARD drive.
In this case, you will not be able to start the recovery procedure from the HARD drive because it works badly as he has already said

There is probably one. If there isn't one, what can I use instead?

    Thank you.

    Hello

The Satellite A200 PSAF6A-07G01N is an Australian for Toshiba laptop model.
The same laptop models were released in the United States, but the model number was different (PSAF6U - 02900T)
But most of the drivers are the same and would operate on your Australian unit.

Go to the Toshiba U.S. driver page:
    http://support.Toshiba.com/support/drivers
and the search for model PSAF6U - 02900T get the appropriate drivers.

    Hello

This seems to be an Australian series for Toshiba laptop.
    You can find it here:
    http://www.ISD.Toshiba.com.au

You will find the audio driver and the most recent BIOS.

But I recommend to check the sound settings first.
I guess that's a Realtek audio chip in the Realtek audio Manager panel you could supply some parameters that control the headphones and speakers.

Tab of reading on the right you will find the headset by clicking right into this and check the options that are available.

  • Satellite A200 (PSAF6A) resets randomly

    Hello

I have a problem with my Satellite A200 (PSAF6A) randomly resetting itself. It does not matter what job I do, or how long I let the laptop, it will be just black screen on me and reboot. Sometimes he'll do Mid-when the form starts, other times I can use it for a while before he'll do. It seems to be a problem which intensified during some time, occurring initially quite rarely, which is now so frequently that it makes the phone unusable.

This issue seems to happen mostly when running off the AC power. When you use the battery I have minimal problems, until the battery runs out. Although stability is much higher when you use the battery, I can't confirm that AC is actually the cause of the problem, because it is a random problem and I will sometimes use alternating current for a long time without error.

I can say that the problem is not caused by overheating or drivers/software/OS. The laptop has been maintained to be free of all dust blocking the radiator as well as for a new application of thermal grease for NB and CPU chips. Everything is running at the level of the standard factory.
I tried Linux, XP, Vista, Win7 and can tell it seems to be a problem specific to an operating system or driver (he got the problem when no OS has been loaded yet).

If anyone has had similar problems or knows what could be my problem, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try it with the factory settings? I mean the version preinstalled Windows that you can restore it with the Toshiba recovery disc. This disc contains all of the drivers and tools and with these settings, everything should work fine.

  • Satellite A200 PSAF6A - question of upgrading the Bios

I have a Satellite A200 PSAF6A and I am trying to upgrade the Bios as the current has a virus or something in it and I want to know how to do this with a floppy disk based BACK or how to make a boot disk for bios.

Any help would be so appreciated thanks.

    > I'm trying to upgrade the Bios because the current has a virus or something in it
    Virus in the BIOS?
Sorry mate but I put t believe that! Why do you think the ROM module where the BIOS is stored could be affected by the virus?

In addition, the traditional BIOS (BACK as you say) is not available for download!
You can find a BIOS based on the victory and these BIOS can be updated from windows system!

  • The upgrade of the BIOS for Satellite A200 PSAF6A-07G01N

    Hi all

I'm trying to solve some problems on my mother in computer laptop laws and it looks like a few things low level. I want to do a BIOS update, as on other laptops of my this has solved similar problems.

The problem I have is to find the good BIOS to use. On the Support download page I select the right model A200 PSAF6A-07G01N etc. You then get to the options of 4 or 5 and the version numbers and types are not very obvious.

    Model: A200 PSAF6A-07G01N
    OS: Vista 32 bit

I tried to download the only version of Vista 2.6 - 1.98 MB, but it gives me a BIOS for the PSAE3A not PSAF6A which is my model (are they the same?)
Filtering by Windows Vista & XP you get version 5.2 2.73 MB, but the name is very generic.

I don't want to kill the laptop so pointers on what BIOS should I use?

    See you soon

    Jack

    Hello

You probably have the Australian cell phone model. Therefore the right place to search for the BIOS is under http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/home

Go to help > downloads and choose your model of laptop. you will find BIOS updates for your laptop model.

  • Satellite A200 - PSAF6A Vista: HDMI video resolution problem

    Hello

Bought a Toshiba Satellite A200 recently, with a HD2600. Because I can't find an APA Help Forum, I hope someone can help me here.

    I have the following problem.
I use another manufacturer AL2216W (the only available driver is for XP, which I installed it on Vista Ultimate without any problems) widescreen 22'.

The monitor is capable of displaying 1680 x 1050 (60 Hz). If I connect it to the analog port of the laptop, I can select the resolution and it works very well.

If I connect it to (via a DVI - D to HDMI Cable adapter) HDMI port on my laptop, the highest resolution is only 1440 x 900. I already installed the drivers several times, but it does not show the resolution 1680 in digital mode.

The strange thing is that the monitor is correctly identified with the resolution to 1680 x 1050.

I use the extended view option, since I want to use both screens.

    Thank you

What do you think of technical requirements?
Maybe the graphics card does not offer this resolution for HDMI port. I don't think you can solve this problem with the latest driver from Toshiba. I know that you want to have the digital signal, but if nothing works try to use this adapter.

  • Satellite A200 PSAF6A - Vista now does not start

    A200 PSAF6A - 02C01N Vista built-in HARD drive recovery

My friend used this PC and she just closes without warning.
Vista won't start now... Turn it on and it starts to load then apparently hangs on a blank black screen just before the Welcome screen.

I tried to use Linux to access the drive to get its stuff out before you reinstall, but several different versions of Linux can not install Windows.

I tried the system recovery running now the 0 key during startup, then releasing 0 when the pc started to beep.
Starts the recovery of loading, then the screen goes blank for a while, then rises... error... F3-F000-0001 error code... Press ok to reboot.
Press ok, error message will... screen is blank... drive hard HDD light shows work... but it is not closed.

Tried to launch a drive to reformat Vista. Boots in the disk, loads the files then crashes, just like the original problem, on a white screen.

Tried the XP disk running... works well until it gets to the part where you choose where you want to install... and said... cannot install on this pc it is no hard drive!

Tried formatting disk with Gnome Partition Editor... It hangs in the review of the disc.

I think the next thing to try is to throw the thing out of a tall building and see if it can fly...

    Anyone got any ideas?

    > I'm not a pro but I thought that it might be a guide?
    > Could someone put me on any help would be good.

I remember that Toshiba manuals contain line very nice guide and photo on RAM upgrade.
Download one of the Satellite A200 series user manual and check the instruction.
The manual can be downloaded from the homepage of the European support of Toshiba.

PS: in most cases, the RAM slots are placed at the bottom of the unit. The slot is secured by a screw and if you remove so you should be able to access slots.

  • Satellite A200-PSAF6A - white screen, will not start

I've had for about a year or more now, out of warranty, and I had no problems so far. The operation of the machine is perfect, done a little warm here and there, but I never had blockages of material etc. The problem lies in the boot process where it lights up but the screen remains black and the HARD drive activity light flashes once, the optical reader clicks like it normally does at the start, and all the normal power supply/battery lights are as they should be, but the laptop will not progress beyond that. The power led remains blue and there is not much activity from the hard drive or any part of the material. This not even the screen of the BIOS at all. At some point, which I suppose because I can't see a pattern emerging in any form, the laptop will emit several beeps and the HDD led starts to blink signifying a boot up is ongoing, but the screen remains blank. At this point, if I turn off the laptop holding the power button / I am sometimes able to start with the display work, but once these things are depend on chance then sometimes it works and sometimes it isn't. Is that a real problem for me because I use this laptop for school and I get sometimes it will feed any or he will, and I'll have to wait a certain amount of time, which could be easily half the class and when he does the beep hard distracted others which is quite annoying.

Now, I went through a lot of similar topics and tried what was said, but to no avail of course. I tried to delete all the components (RAM, HDD, optical drive, Wifi etc.) and reinstalling them that sometimes only a temporary solution. In the RAM slot I have 800 mhz and 1x1GB 667 mhz-1x2GB, I tried various arrangements with the installed RAM and RAM I have around my house, but I have not yet come to a solution. I find that I can't start up with RAM in just the second slot, I guess it's probably normal, but if it's not please comment and tell me otherwise because I read about another solution to a similar problem a person should use the ram in the second slot to get his laptop to start.

My suspicion is that it's to do with a kind of BIOS check or maybe a BIOS corrupted, that I could not resolve without a technician because I am already in the current version of the BIOS. I did not update the BIOS that is not. If not then I'll assume that it is just a fault of power on the motherboard circuit. It's a really weird problem because it works quite well after, and I don't think it's a hardware problem perfectly serious because he wouldn't if it was.

Any help is appreciated on the topic, share your knowledge, if you have had a similar problem because whatever it is would be useful

    Thank you

    James

I'm not 100% sure but I think that the graphics card can be removed. Maybe you have enough experience with replacement of equipment, but laptop disassembly without maintenance manuals can be risky.
I really hope you know what you're doing. Maybe you should contact the nearest authorized and ask for help.

  • Satellite A200 (PSAF6A) - update display driver

Hey all, got a friend here with a laptop A200 (PSAF6A) with Vista Home Premium 32 bit and display top drivers are with he came, course they are overwhelmed.

In any case, I installed the "20080311103412 display" from the website and when he finished there was no catalyst control center installed, in fact, it seemed as there was no display at all driver, just the driver of Windows by default.
I reinstalled the original back on top drivers and they worked very well, I went to the page of download ATI and got the latest drivers from there.
I installed those and even though they said they were working to the display of catalyst driver version still says it's the same as the old drivers (2007.0516.57.42724, to be exact)

I'm doing something wrong? I n t played with the ATI drivers for years, and they seem to have changed much since then.

    Thanks for any help
If you need more information just ask and I'll give you
    Thank you once again
    AZ

    Hello!

Well, you must use drivers Toshiba because the ATI drivers don't have protection against overheating and the graphics card may be damaged.
So with the Toshiba drivers, you're on the safe side.

Before installing latest graphics driver, you must remove the old first in Add / Remove programs. Then, restart your PC and install the graphics driver.
    Try this.

    Hello

MS Outlook is a part of MS Office software.
The image of Toshiba (on the recovery disk) contains only a trial version of MS Office software and if you want to reinstall the MS Outlook you will need MS Office drive (you need to buy it) or you need to restore the complete system using the Toshiba recovery disc.
This would format the entire HARD drive!

  • Satellite A200 PSAF6A - DVD burning issue, pixel dead, overheating

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba A200 (model PSAF6A) of back in January, and it is riddled with problems since then:
-Can't burn DVD (not @ around 50%, any software is used)
-Several dead on the screen pixels
-Overheating when playing games (I bought an external cooling block)
-Now, all fans are dead inside the laptop! Overheating in the first 10 minutes of starting the laptop computer!

Now, for me, it seems that the motherboard may have started to die.

What I'd like to know is if it will be replaced with so many problems if I take service? (I reserved a pick-up for today)
Or they'll just to try to solve every problem?

-Can't burn DVD (not @ around 50%, any software is used)
... could be a defective DVD player. or could be bad upperfilters/lowerfilters. http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx?ID=314060

-Several dead on the screen pixels
... LCD display needs to be replaced if it meets Toshiba pixel policy.

-Overheating when playing games (I bought an external cooling block)
... Too much dust in the heat sink, must be blown to the compressed air, or dismantled so its really clogged. Dust accumulation is common in carpeted rooms.

-Now, all fans are dead inside the laptop! Overheating in the first 10 minutes of starting the laptop computer!
... If the fans don't turn up at all, there must be a lot of dust in there. The fans need to be replaced.

  • Satellite L650 - 1MC Windows doesn't recognize RAM but BIOS is...

My laptop has the following memory configuration:

1 x Samsung 2 Gb module (which was the original module supplied with the notebook)
    1 x Kingston 4 GB module

The BIOS recognizes all of the 6 GB, it says ' total memory size: 6144 MB '

However, Windows 7 (home premium 64-bit) "6.00 GB (2.0 GB usable)"

I have been told it is perhaps down to a serious virus - I did a complete analysis of the MSE, that is something of which I removed, however it says that 2 GB of RAM is usable.

I tried to go into msconfig/startup/advanced and change the maximum memory of 2048 to 6144, but this just changes again in 2048 Mb.

I would be really really grateful for any help with this.
