Win7 Home Premium to Ultimate upgrade

I have win 7 home premium on my computer and works well.  I want to go to the ultimate with a new disc install ultimate (version integral 64-bit) when I try to install it, and use the 'upgrade' prompt, Setup stops and sent it to me to Microsoft "anytime upgrade page" is anyway I can get around this?  or is the "anytime upgrade" the only way to upgrade to Ultimate? The disc I have nine and possess the product unused key.

Ok. Simply enter the product key when asked to do so. There are a small chance that the upgrade may not work (see the bottom of my first post) If you have two choices: 1) just to check their website for any questions related to the Express upgrade or the Anytime Upgrade 2) call of the factory supported team.

Hi back from the guy with a new query.

"" I'm looking to upgrade Vista Home Premium to Ultimate... checked the requirements of what is known on the "Windows anytime upgrade" site and I can you there is a lot of conflicting ideas on how its all done up to the fact that I would need a disc to upgrade mailed to me.

After reading a few other forums recently, the answer lies in what you guys can or perhaps are not able to advise me... and the question is:

Only the so-called "rescue disk" provided with the purchase, IE the Windows operating system disk... ALL CONTAIN THE ' VISTA "SYSTEMS AVAILABLE..." Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate? and very unlikely, but she coded upgrade or anything like that, as its meant to be to perform upgrades?

Thanks a lot again in anticipation of your kind comments

    Andrew.

Firs of all I think you should know that it is a forum for users and to my knowledge, there is no guy from Toshiba which could provide instructions.
I know, it's, your Toshiba Recovery DVD contains the same Win Vista that was preinstalled on your laptop.
It seems that you bought this laptop with Vista Home Premium and this operating system should be placed on the recovery media.

Please DON t mix the Toshiba Recovery DVD with a DVD of new, original and clean Microsoft Vista.
Toshiba Recovery contains an image include the OS, drivers, tools and additional software.
    It s already active.

The MS Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista but to use a version of Vista that a right serial key must be inserted.

Hope I could make a clarification.

  • Can I use "Microsoft Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade [Home Premium to Ultimate]" upgrade to Professional to ultimate?

"Can I buy" Microsoft Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade [Home Premium to Ultimate] "and use it to upgrade Windows 7 Professional to ultimate?

    # Anytime Upgrade is specific edition.  If Home Premium was the original OS on the computer and then restore it and then use the HP upgrade last month to THE or buy a professional for the last update.

Except if you have language packs that come with Ultimate I'd stay professional.  Professional is expected to support up to 2020, while Ultimate is limited to supported until 2015.

I need to upgrade a laptop Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate to connect to a network of MS Server 2008. Home Premium runs on SP2 and I bought an upgrade ultimate retail package which has Ultimate SP1. • Windows 7 Home premium to ultimate upgrade

    Hello

    recently, I bought Y560 with 64-bit Windows 7 home premium (with i7 & 8 GB of RAM).

I was told that in order to better use the resource that the laptop has been it is better to go for Windows 7 Ultimate.

Is this true? It is worth the upgrade to Ultimate?

    Thanks for the tips.

    Vinciane

    Hi Joel,.

It's hard to say. It depends on whether or not you need/want the extra features included in Ultimate. You can find a comparison between Ultimate and Home Premium using the link below. Also remember there are alternatives to these features if you miss one of them it could be cheaper and better to find another application to perform this task alone. It might even be available freeware that can do the same thing.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/Windows-7/compare/default.aspx

If you do not miss the extra features, I would say that it is not worth to spend money on an upgrade to Ultimate.

  • HP pavilion dv6-3141ee from home premium to ultimate

    Hello

I have a computer hp dv6-3141ee laptop with windows 7 Home premium 64-bit installed on it.  my laptop has crashed and had a hard drive failure, so I took it to be fixed and my laptop to go with windows 7 ultimate 64 bit installed on this...

I had a few problems with ultimate 64 bit about usb ports and a microsd port, whenever I insert a USB port it does not recognize, and then I have to unplug and plug back like 5 times or more for power read...

My question is: is this really the ultimate 64 bit that causes these problems? should I go back to the original home premium 64-bit system?  Or y at - it suggestions for managing these issues?

    Concerning

    Hey ghalimajzoub,

At the base, Win7 Home Premium and Ultimate Win7 are the same - there are a few feature differences when it comes to networking, backup and languages, but as far as material interaction goes, they are the same. See this table for details:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/compare

The problem you are experiencing is certainly not due to a change in the Windows edition. Given that the ports were working before you took it repair, I recommend strongly to take out there, and to let them know - maybe something happened during the repair.

Pre installed Win7 Home Premium laptop computer here in Mexioco, however it turns out be Spanish and I need to change the English language. It seems that only there is to upgrade to Enterprise and Ultimate. MS provides a free update. I just need to have English on my laptop.

  • Upgrade Vista Home Premium to Ultimate - Windows complete PC Backup and Restore

    Dear Madam, dear Sir

Upgraded my laptop HP DV7 Vista Home Premium to Ultimate, mainly to use Windows complete PC Backup and Restore.

The restore time and unfortunately no option in the boot menu at startup to restore system from images. No menu advanced etc. I guess starting always remains at the level of the premium and does not provide "Windows complete PC Backup and Restore" restore options.

Grants menu of system restore points, with only the last good restore point and no option to select point of previous restoration or system image to restore from.

    Mmmm nice ideas...

    Thanks in advance

    Good day

    Kent

    Hello

Complete PC Backup is designed for the reinstallation of the operating system that you have backed up.

You access it to start from a Vista DVD.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/Windows-Vista-complete-PC-Restore/

To restore a full backup of the computer, you must proceed within the Windows recovery environment. To access the Windows recovery environment, you will need to insert your Vista DVD in the DVD drive on your computer and turn on your computer.

    See you soon.

I have windows vista Home premium. How upgrade to Vista Ultimate in India?

Are you talking about changing the language of Hindi?  If the language you want does not appear in the optional updates in Windows Updates, then you can buy a copy of Windows in the language you want and reinstall Windows.  You can not upgrade.  You will need to do a clean install.

  • You want to upgrade Windows Vista to Windows 7 Professional. I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he told me that I can upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate. Why not professional?

I want to install Windows 7 Professional.  I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he told me that I can upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate. Why not professional? Or is this correct?

You can still install Windows 7 Pro, but it requires a custom installation. This will remove all your programs (you will need to reinstall them), but you can save your files and settings to external storage before doing so.

If you want to make a place in the upgrade you will need Home Premium or Ultimate.

What Upgrade Options are available for Windows 7?
If you are running Windows Vista , in some cases you can proceed directly to Windows 7, and in other cases, you must perform a custom installation. The following table shows what editions of Windows Vista can be upgraded to Windows 7.

    Windows Vista Home Basic

Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate

    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Ultimate

    Windows Vista Business

Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate
