Satellite A210-JA3 don't like Vista

Hello

I don't know what happened to my computer laptop, funny, that's what happening a week or two after warranty, go figure. My laptop can not get into the office anymore. whenever I try to start the thing, I need options either Startup Repair (System Recovery) or start window normally... it takes me to what he says, he would, either restart the computer and goes right back to the same screen...

When I get to the system recovery options, no operating system is listed. make me believe my vista is corrupt or something.

So I tried to reinstall windows from the toshiba Recovery wizard start screen... recovery / factory software deal. And once I was able to get into windows and it was great... but then early or late, you try to start the computer, goes back right to the same thing, windows fails to start and its new system recovery stuff.

I'll try and release more information I know, but Im a bit technologically challenged. IM also student and can not afford one of those $ 50 / hour who waste time money and people. If anyone can help me with what they think, this is perhaps the question, it would be greatly appreciated.

That everyone should know?

Its a Toshiba Satellite
Configuration: Windows Vista

Hello

I really wonder of your Satellite A210 doesn t like Vista because this model of laptop is really designed for Vista.
To be honest I don't know what the problem is here, and it is not easy to offer an accurate diagnosis on this virtual path.
I don't know what exact laptop configuration is and what you've done with it.

To make all this short, I think you should install OS using original Toshiba recovery image.
With the own BONES, everything should be OK and you will be able to use your laptop without these problems.
What is an option for you?
You have original Toshiba recovery installation disc?

    Hello

If you have an XP disk and license, you can go back to XP

but make sure that the manufacturer of your computer has XP drivers available for this model computer

If you have not an XP license try to buy one at a computer repair shop

you boot from the XP disc and format in this way:

to boot from the dvd drive to be able to you will see a way to get into the bios Setup at the bottom of the screen or command menu start

It would be F2 or delete etc to enter the BIOS or F12 etc. for the start menu

Change boot order it do dvd drive 1st in the boot order

  • Satellite A210-171 - curriculum vitae of Vista failed

Satellite A210-171 running Windows Vista 32-bit Home.
At the start, I have Windows RESUME loader screen showing error and asking to choose either 'continue with system summary' or 'Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu. BUT the keyboard does not respond (not even to select the caps lock). Must turn off switch to restart.

All on a touch after the startup splash screen Toshiba produces a blank screen (same f8 and other function keys).
Tried default BIOS settings to no effect.

This problem occurred a few months before and has been resolved by wiping of hard disk and put on a fresh copy of windows from a CD of Vista. Now, it's back--cannot keep from scratch!

To be honest I n don't know what can be the reason of this problem. If you don t have some important data saved to disk HARD reinstall Vista with recovery DVDs.
When bring you your laptop, press F12 to enter the boot menu, put the recovery DVD in the optical disc drive, choose the CD/DVD drive in the menu and press ENTER.

Just follow the menu on the screen and reinstall Vista.

By the way: this model works perfectly with Win7 32 bit so if there is a possibility, I recommend you to use Win7.

  • Satellite A210 - touch FN causes BSOD (Vista Premium)

    Greetings,

I just got my Satellite yesterday and unfortunately already fallen on a serious problem. Just to note: I've been googling and used the search on the forum, but I have not found a similar opportunity...

However, the problem is easy to explain actually: just at the moment where I hit the function (FN) on the keyboard button, I get an instant blue screen on vista and the system gets immediately stopped. It's like starting right now here: a 'crash-on-command-key '. FYI: It is the famous "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"-message, which essentially tells the normal user (like me) nothing. ".

Also I can't reproduce really, what else could cause this. Associated with the drivers I have only day drivers sound - and onboardgfx.

I think just to use the recovery disc and reinstall the system from scratch. If this does not help, maybe without downgrading to Win XP or even install Linux on it. I'm quite unsure if this action would be a violation if my warranty.

I also around possible navigation for driverupdates for other devices, they are already up to date. It is the same with the bios (v1.90).

Well, someone did - he had a solution?

    Thank you!

I might add: this is actually my first laptop, so my experience is a little weak on this issue.

    Hello

It's really strange question. recovery image is tested and created separately for each laptop model and I do not understand why this is happening. I recommend you to install OS using recovery media delivered. Complete the configuration of the OS and test functionality FN keys.

Do not install any additional operating system and test it with only recovery image. I'm sure that this shouldn't happen again.
    Please post the result.

  • I don't like VISTA. I want to go back to my old XP program. I can't afford to buy them again. This program Vista comes with the new computer I bought

The store where I gought this computer had these on special purchases and told me that I couldn't keep XP.  I think that VISTA will not many of my programs like print shop ect. It does not open some of my XP disks did.  Always open XP address book usung UM printing shop. Vista doesn't recognize UM.  Sometimes the Explorer and/or the internet will just fade and stop working for me

Really, I want XP back, is it possible that you can do this?  As I can't afford to go buy an XP program.

If you want xp you must buy it, if you can find it. And then only if your new PC has Windows XP drivers available from this manufacturer of PC

  • Satellite A210 - 11 c: need drivers XP

    Hello!

I don't like VISTA and I want XP back!
I just bought a laptop Toshiba satellite A210 11 c and I want to change to XP.
Where can I find the drivers?

    Please, it is urgent:)
    thanx

I visited the European Toshiba driver page and didn t find drivers for XP for an A210 at this time. :(
It s sad, but in my opinion, that the drivers will be released in the coming days.

So either you will wait until Toshiba releases XP drivers or watch you and test drivers XP for another series of laptop as IE. A200

  • Satellite L355-S7907 - how downgrade from Vista to XP?

    Hello

I recently bought the Satellite L355-S7907 and do not like Vista I want to run Windows XP Service Pack 2 on it. Now I tried several methods, first start XP from CD, it loads for a few minutes then I get the blue screen of death, by saying that I should run ' CHKDISK F.
I ran check disk and my my hard drive is fine.

The other method I've tried is partition my hard drive then when Vista is on trying to install XP on the new partition. Vista allows me to install on a partition, because "Windows on your computer is newer than the version on CD.

What should I do here? I don't like Vista and I'd love to have XP working on this laptop.

    Any help much appreciated

    Hello

Downgrade from Vista to XP isn t possible. Therefore, you must make a clean and new Windows XP installation. You wrote that you get a BSOD if you start from XP disc, what code BSOD is it exactly?

I guess you only need drivers SATA to install XP. Have you installed them?
In addition I recommend read the discussions here in the forum about it. You'll have hundreds of them! ;)

  • Satellite A210-MS9 overheats like crazy with the fans always on

    Dear forum members (and guests)

I am a happy owner of the Satellite A210-MS9 laptop, and I'm having a major problem. This notebook is so hot, for nothing. as it will close for more than a day and the second I turn it on. the fan mounts like crazy and it disables never (EVER), noise is killing me, makes me emotional stress. and not only that, I thought the problem of vista, so I installed xp, same problem. I even turned off all the pleasure of the eyes in XP (imagine that) However, the fan never stops and it is too strong. so I went to google (for all best friend) I have found that the average temperature. for a system like mine is 29.6 (top) and 30.9 c (bottom)

So I downloaded CpuCOOL to check my temperature, guess what was my average temp, it's 50 ° c. 50, it is 67% more than it should be.
I don't know if I'm the only poor with his laptop tries to kill him with emotion, but I need help, desperately. now I see why they call this thing a laptop more, because you can never he put on his knees (if you want to have children) and I want to have kids.

    good luck and good night

    Hi Pauleece,

Looks like there is dust in the heat sink causing the CPU overheating. This happens to all laptops used in dusty environments.

A quick fix would be to blow into the air vents when the laptop is turned off. This will reverse the flow of dust and dislodge. You can also use compressed air to blow off the dust.

But if its in bad shape, you will need to disassemble the laptop and dust correctly. An ASP can do for you for a small fee.

  • Re: Satellite A210 - Setup Toshiba Vista Recovery error

    Hello

Last February, I bought Toshiba Satellite A210. Yesterday, I had to reinstall the system to obtain the original factory using CD DVD recovery setting. I followed the step shown on the display until I came to the scene "Format partitions. Start to copy No 1/5 to 4/5 things that I forgot the name, what happened to copy and suddenly I get an error saying that it could not copy data or an error of data redundancy check failure and "Please press any key to continue" and I press a key to continue, and suddenly the cmd window disappeared.
I realize it was shown another cmd window on the bottom, and when I maximize the window I don't see is something like

    X:\widowns\system32

I didn't understand what I need to do. If I restart the system and do same thing again and I get the same error.
First of all, I thought that my HARD drive is perhaps a foul on him so I used my one other original cd of Windows Vista to install Vista to see if my HARD drive is correct.

During installation, I see 4 partition and one of them saying WinRE. In any case, I have install my vista. But I need original cd data recovery, so I can install the driver.

Then later, I tried to use DVD CD-recovery and I get the same error I describe above.

Does anyone know what was wrong?
It is very difficult to call from the night to the Toshiba Help Center so I will try to get an answer in this post.

Thank you for reading my post.

    Kind regards

    Hello

I got my A210 laptop several times and had this problem once.
In my case the black cmd window appeared and I didn t know that I have to do.
So I closed that window and nothing happened.
Now, I know that I have to leave everything until the installation process would end.

But listen buddy; you said that you have installed the Vista using an original DVD of Microsoft Vista. Well well, in that case you n t need the recovery DVDs for the Toshiba driver installation.
All need Vista drivers are available on the European driver Toshiba page.

Check the driver page, select your model laptop, then you should get all the necessary drivers for Vista!

    Good bye

  • Satellite A210-downgrade from VISTA to XP Pro SP2 - unknown base system device

I recently bought a laptop. On the Toshiba product page, it is listed as Satellite A210-199 (PSAFGE-05M00FG3). If I followed the link to the drivers page, he is listed as Equium A210 (PSAFGE-05M00FG3).

the laptop came with VISTA Home premium, I don't like / want, but works perfectly. After complete installation of Windows XP SP2 home edition Professional, (latest updates, all the drivers of Toshiba home page, etc.), hardware device Manager lists a "DEVICE BASIC SYSTEM" under "system devices", for which he cannot find drivers (Yes, it automatically searches on the internet and that did not help either).

I tried to uninstall the device and restart it, just to see what happens. And I got the ball from the standard taskbar with 'new hardware found '. Windows still do not find the drivers for it, and it still lists as a yellow exclamation in the hardware device manager. The only difference is that now he is no longer in the "system devices" section, but instead, it's an "unknown device" in the "other devices" section (you know, the big icon question yellow mark)

After a thorough cleaning is reinstalled, it is always an "unknown device" under the heading "other devices."

EDIT: maybe I should also mention that when I install graphics and sound card, says windows drivers I changed some important system files and I have to put the original cd with kit WXP SP2.

Have you installed all the drivers provided on the European driver Toshiba page?

I mean divers for card reader controller, AMD processor driver, Driver Modem, infrared Driver, etc.

    Please check all these drivers!

  • Satellite A210 - 11K: Vista blocks the use of IE and internet

    Hello

I'll keep this short. I have the Satellite A210 - 11K with Vista Home Premium. Basically, when I installed SP1 and the other all other updates, use Internet Explorer and all other related programs has been blocked EXCEPT MSN Messenger, which proves that I could connect to the internet. To run the system restore, I could use internet proving that updates are the cause of the problem.

However, I can no longer perform the system restore, and I'm stuck with SP1 and no internet.

I tried everything Microsoft Tech Support phone for 40mins, uninstallation of different updates, play with the internet settings, change the settings in msconfig etc...

A friend of mine who is very good with the PC found that port 80 is blocked (apparently this port is very important) and my laptop is by allowing a DNS (or something...)

I need help so if anyone can help, thanks in advance 1 million

    Felix

Have you tried to find the solution to your internet provider?

They should have some experience with these issues.
To be honest I don't see the connection between the laptop to the manufacturer and your problem and I think you should contact your internet service provider. It must be a problem with the settings.
