Satellite A210-MS9 overheats like crazy with the fans always on

Dear forum members (and guests)

I am a happy owner of the Satellite A210-MS9 laptop, and I'm having a major problem. This notebook is so hot, for nothing. as it will close for more than a day and the second I turn it on. the fan mounts like crazy and it disables never (EVER), noise is killing me, makes me emotional stress. and not only that, I thought the problem of vista, so I installed xp, same problem. I even turned off all the pleasure of the eyes in XP (imagine that) However, the fan never stops and it is too strong. so I went to google (for all best friend) I have found that the average temperature. for a system like mine is 29.6 (top) and 30.9 c (bottom)

So I downloaded CpuCOOL to check my temperature, guess what was my average temp, it's 50 ° c. 50, it is 67% more than it should be.
I don't know if I'm the only poor with his laptop tries to kill him with emotion, but I need help, desperately. now I see why they call this thing a laptop more, because you can never he put on his knees (if you want to have children) and I want to have kids.

good luck and good night

Hi Pauleece,

Looks like there is dust in the heat sink causing the CPU overheating. This happens to all laptops used in dusty environments.

A quick fix would be to blow into the air vents when the laptop is turned off. This will reverse the flow of dust and dislodge. You can also use compressed air to blow off the dust.

But if its in bad shape, you will need to disassemble the laptop and dust correctly. An ASP can do for you for a small fee.

    Hello

I have a very big problem. One day, I look in Vista on my resource monitor and see that the max freuquence is only 50%.

So first of all I think that is no problem because the assets 'energy savings' energy recorded.
    I have a Satellite A210 - 10 c portable.

So I switch to maximum power and perform a test of prime95. But hell, the max freuquence has not changed. I also installed everest and cpu z, but all programs show the same to me:

My laptop only works with the 800 Mhz instead of 1.6 Ghz!

I'm looking for drivers for the AMD processor, but you need not for Vista. Update all the drivers of Toshiba and Programms and BIOS (in fact, it is the 1.9).

    Nothing helps.

As a last test, I reinstalled Vista, but also did not help.

And now I'm at a loss what to do.

I hope someone can help me.

    Good bye...

Have you installed the Vista using the recovery CD or the original CD of Microsoft Vista?

I ask because the restore CD contains all drivers for Toshiba and yellow exclamation marks should not be apparently in Device Manager.

If you used the original CD of Vista I think that you have not installed the Package of Intel Robson.

I found the package of Robson on the Toshiba driver-> Satellite P200 area page.

    Maybe you should check this.

    Your comments would be appreciated

  • Satellite A210 - ATI Radeon HD2600-problem with the TV via S-video connection

I tried to connect my Toshiba laptop with TV (Philips LCD) via S-video, but TV was unable to detect the video signal from the laptop.
I also tried to use a connection SCART TV through the reduction, but photo was the only black and white, no color.
Last possibility is reduction use S-video to RCA yellow, but how do you know... But I really prefer to use 'pure's-video.

I followed the step the manufacturer ATI and TV guide (first plug the cables, then switch TV, turn to the right in the TV menu, then the mobile source on, activation of TV as a secondary device (I have to force it, autodetect found nothing), press Fn + F5 (thing) and... nothing, black TV.)

    Where could be the problem?
Cable seems OK, TV should support s-video and I get the right output in TV, I send the PAL signal...
Maybe something with the Catalyst Control Center, I doubt.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you very much.

You use the Vista... Is this good?

If so, the ATI Catalyst provides the TV option that must be activated.

You should have an ATI Catalyst icon in the taskbar. Double-click on this icon.
Then choose Advanced settings (second option).

In the display options (Display manager) below, you will find the TV Force recognition option.
    Please check this option.

Then reconnect the TV and try to use the FN + F5 key combination to switch to the TV.

  • Satellite A210-184: How can I restore the OS?

    Hmm... strange...

So I borrowed an external Cd-rom drive... and yet it does not start from him...

When I try to restore from a previous backup, I can't restore factory default, even when I choose the partition hidden... as there is no files on it... apparently its empty...

I tried the press C, 0, repair F8 and everything... won't let me...
When I reach the menu and press the last option "restore windows to defautl" it just says: "If the files are damaged or corrupt, please use Witch of the cd provided with your computer..." This option is to press OK (not then like some said guides)... and brings back me to the original menu...

I tried the "full pc recovery", but I get the message "theres no directory valid blah blah blah, insert the CD rigth and or a HARD drive or select the backup location ', but it won't let me select any other directory...

    So overall...

Cannot restore from the hidden partition and cannot restore from cd when even he supposed to work...
Cannot install xp on it, Vista is blocked... and cannot restore factory default...

I can not recommend the purchase of a toshiba from this point on... his purchase as a cat in a bag...

    Hi dude

    > I can not recommend the purchase of a toshiba from this point on... his purchase as a cat in a bag...
I put t agree with you.

First of all I m owner of the satellite A210 as well and my laptop work properly since the first day.

My A210 was not equipped with HARD drive recovery option, but there was a tool preinstalled called creative recovery disk Toshiba that helps create the recovery disk.

If you want to retrieve the laptop, you need to boot from the recovery disc and should follow the instructions on the screen. All that s!

If you are not able to boot from the disc then your ODD (CD/DVD) drive may be defective.
This means that you need to replace the ODD.

But note; not all dimensions are compatible because different master/slave/c-salt settings
And this isn't just a case for Toshiba laptop, but for all mobile phones from different manufacturers!
Ratings slimline don t support no rider, but are controlled by the firmware software and, therefore, you should choose one compatible

You can also read a user manual are enough details and information about the recovery process so well in most cases, reading allows you to get more information

  • Satellite A210-SP6812 hangs after hibernation with a Wi - Fi connected

I have a Satellite A210-SP6812 running with win XP SP3, and when I turn into suspend mode and later he attends the hibernation (I have the choice in Toshiba energy saving) it will, but after that you will wake up never the system again unless you reset the laptop.

It is important to note that this only happens when the WiFi is enabled (Realtek RTL 8187 (B). I'm updating this driver but nothing works. Once it happened when the laptop was inside my bag and despite the hibernate after the suspension, he hooked up with all coolers & heat inside was amazing.
An idea of the cause of it?

    Thanks for your support!

    Leo

Have you updated the BIOS? Perhaps the problem will be solved.

If it isn't, then it might be another problem in Windows. Maybe a 3rd driver is causing a conflict. Recovery time should solve the problem.

  • Satellite A210-199: cannot communicate wirelessly with DreamBox 7020 s

HY to all members and admins,

I am newbee on TOSHIBA Satellite A210-199, and I have the following problems:

    (1) I can not connect with Wi - Fi, with my Satellite Receiver based LINUX DreamBox 7020 s:
before & now with a HPnx9010 and a desktop running Windows XP SP2, I've been fave not no problem!

With "Doctor Conectivity" - application, I have, in the log file, this:

    * Diagnosis results *.
    Ping option: Off
How can I do this option: WE / permit?

    (2) even I recorded with my product I can't received updates TOSHIBA drivers!

Thank you for to advance & regards better

The Microsoft Vista operating system has been pre-installed on the Satellite A210-199. Am I wrong?
You have turned off all firewalls? Check it!

Regarding your connectivity doctor' application he is a tool of Toshiba ConfigFree.
It s only a tool of diagnosis and you shouldn't t he use for the WLan configuration.

I think you have to use zero configuration of Windows Vista WLan settings it s a Vista own function for WLan Access the WLan Vista settings configuration and check in the TCP/IP protocol properties, if all the settings are set to automatic.

    Regarding your update of the Toshiba driver;
All the drivers are available on the European driver Toshiba page. If you need an update and then just check the driver page but I would follow these useful tips. never change to a system running, does that mean if your laptop works well, updates are not necessary.

  • Satellite A300D-16N: sound like metal with a lot of cracks

    Hallo!

I've updated lately from Vista 32 bit to Win 7 32 bit on my Satellite A300D-16n.
Now, I have a few sound issues - looks like metal with a lot of cracks.

I've updated my Bios and wifi, graphics and sound driveres are also known as latest as says win7

It seems that there is some kind of conflict beetwen pilots or problem with sound oversteer
I don't know how to solve this problem.

    Can you help?

    Hello

I got this Toshiba doc on the sound distortion.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9702NO0000R01.htm

But this is related to the Win XP you are using Win 7

However, can be a good tip.

Otherwise I recommend you to disable the internal microphone, I had a sort of background noise on my laptop.
I could turn off the microphone in the control panel-> sound

By the way; have you noticed that using headphones?

  • Satellite P100-257 does not work with the new drive HARD WD SATA II 320 GB

Please could someone knows how to solve my problem.
I bought new HARD drive to upgrade my Toshiba Satellite P100-257:
Western Digital SATA II WD3200AAKS 320 16 MB
(Originally was installed Toshiba MK6034GSX 60 GB HARD drive)
When installing Windows XP (from Toshiba disk recovery or all other disks), when the Installer starts copying the files to the temporary directory HDD (after HDD format) encounter a problem like "cannot write files to the HARD drive.
I tried to format the drive before installation (even to split to 2 smaller logical drives).
Also I have updated the BIOS at 2009-03-04.
    But nothing changes.
    What is the problem?

    Hello

It seems that the HARD drive has been recognized because you can receive the error message about the Master Boot Record.

I think that there is something wrong with the partitions on the HARD disk.
I put t know how you formatted the HARD drive, but I think that you must first reinstall the operating system on a partition in order to check the functionality of the HARD drive.

Once you have started using the Windows XP disk, try to create more than one partition and this format to NTFS. Then follow the installation of the OS!

  • Satellite A100 - 147 Compression file error with the product recovery disc

I have Toshiba A100-147, just out of warranty. I tried to recover with a disk, disk unpack to 69% and then I get the message "ERROR READING OF COMPRESSION FILE (1). I have no choice but to click OK in the error message box, and then quit the recovery as she stops running.

Any help would be extremely welcome.

    Hello

It looks like a problem with the Toshiba Recovery CD.
Have you tried to repeat this procedure?

What of the HARD drive? You format the HARD drive using an original CD of XP MS?
It s very interesting if a format of HARD drive could allows to perform the installation of the OS since the Toshiba Recovery CD.

I remember that something like this has happened on my laptop s friend was not able to recover the operating system using the Toshiba CD. Finally, we found that some sectors on the HARD disk has been corrupted. Format drive HARD allowed integer and my friend was able to install the image of Toshiba.
    It's worth a try ;)

But of course, this error could occur because of the faulty recovery CD.

  • Satellite A210 - 1 4 do not recognize the optical disc drive

    I have a satellite A210 - 1 4 who recognize the strange.
The drive has power and running disks but does not appear as a drive in MY COMPUTER.

It is also not recognized in the Bios.
I updated the Bios and tried to install the firmware but the message that the drive is not found.

I tried in another computer and it works fine.
If anyone has had similar problems, and is there a solution?

    Thank you very much

    > I tried in another computer and it works fine.
You have tested optical drive in another computer?
In any case, if the STRANGE is not recognized in the BIOS I'm afraid controller ODD m is defective. It comes to the motherboard so there is not some sort of easy solution.
I don't think you can do much except to swap the motherboard.

  • Satellite X 205-SLi3 - black screen with the mobile mouse at startup

I have a computer laptop X 205 - Sli 3 satellite, which is a little more than a month and running windows Vista. (let me know if the exact specifications make a difference)

Yesterday morning my laptop was working fine, I arrested him at home because I need to take to work with me to get some files there. However, when I tried to turn it back on all I got was a black screen with cursor mouse mobile white dead center. I saw other posts with similar problems, but no solutions.

Loads everything up as normal at the beginning: I get the Toshiba load screen (this allows me to make changes to the boot from there with F2, F8, F12 or, but none seems to have no effect) and I get the little green loading bar of Microsoft just before the screen blinks a few times and then turns black except for the white mouse. The touchpad, Capslock and scroll lock keys * are * admissible, but the function keys and Ctrl + Alt + Delete to do * not * work. There is no way to stop the laptop at this point without maintaining the power button.

I tried to start in safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, only to get exactly the same result after Windows loading bar. (only a lower resolution on this beautiful Virgin high-def screen mouse cursor). I activated the boot record, nothing, I tried to start with the "last known good configuration", nothing.

I tried windows repair options: repair system, System Restore (it * was * a windows update just before restore point in my laptop screwed up and I m wondering if that has something to do with it because it was the first time the computer was turned off since the auto update installed... but get an older restore point does not help) , as well as the windows memory diagnostic tool. Everything is displayed normally but still black screen after the loading bar Microsoft...

I also tried the debug mode, and directory services restore mode just for the heck of it - each time the black screen of death.

I even put in the Toshiba recovery disc and put my laptop to boot from the CD rather than the HD (it gives me the same options by pressing F8 and go to repair are starting only I didn't have to put my admin password)

The only thing I can think that I n t done is format my whole hard drive, I know that this is not always a solution, and I prefer to keep all my school and work files if possible. Fortunately I am able to get into the command prompt BACK and some of the most important things am copy on a USB key, but I'll still probably lose all my programs and larger files.

    Someone had a similar problem?
If so, what was the solution?
I would call all technical support, but I won't have time until after the new year to spend on the phone and I have a feeling that their solution will be to format and use the recovery disc.

Man, such an expensive machine and then all this work of wouldn because of some software sh... So, if you have backed up your most important files, then, I would _recommend_ you to recover your machine. Won´t solve you anything just trying to find the error, believe me, you'll go nuts.

Just put the recovery in the drive and start the process of "delete-all-my-programs-but-protect-my-nerves-and-make-everything-OK".

    Welcome them
