Satellite A210 - touch FN causes BSOD (Vista Premium)

Greetings,

I just got my Satellite yesterday and unfortunately already fallen on a serious problem. Just to note: I've been googling and used the search on the forum, but I have not found a similar opportunity...

However, the problem is easy to explain actually: just at the moment where I hit the function (FN) on the keyboard button, I get an instant blue screen on vista and the system gets immediately stopped. It's like starting right now here: a 'crash-on-command-key '. FYI: It is the famous "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"-message, which essentially tells the normal user (like me) nothing. ".

Also I can't reproduce really, what else could cause this. Associated with the drivers I have only day drivers sound - and onboardgfx.

I think just to use the recovery disc and reinstall the system from scratch. If this does not help, maybe without downgrading to Win XP or even install Linux on it. I'm quite unsure if this action would be a violation if my warranty.

I also around possible navigation for driverupdates for other devices, they are already up to date. It is the same with the bios (v1.90).

Well, someone did - he had a solution?

Thank you!

I might add: this is actually my first laptop, so my experience is a little weak on this issue.

Hello

It's really strange question. recovery image is tested and created separately for each laptop model and I do not understand why this is happening. I recommend you to install OS using recovery media delivered. Complete the configuration of the OS and test functionality FN keys.

Do not install any additional operating system and test it with only recovery image. I'm sure that this shouldn't happen again.
Please post the result.

At the start, I have Windows RESUME loader screen showing error and asking to choose either 'continue with system summary' or 'Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu. BUT the keyboard does not respond (not even to select the caps lock). Must turn off switch to restart.

All on a touch after the startup splash screen Toshiba produces a blank screen (same f8 and other function keys).
Tried default BIOS settings to no effect.

This problem occurred a few months before and has been resolved by wiping of hard disk and put on a fresh copy of windows from a CD of Vista. Now, it's back--cannot keep from scratch!

To be honest I n don't know what can be the reason of this problem. If you don t have some important data saved to disk HARD reinstall Vista with recovery DVDs.
When bring you your laptop, press F12 to enter the boot menu, put the recovery DVD in the optical disc drive, choose the CD/DVD drive in the menu and press ENTER.

Just follow the menu on the screen and reinstall Vista.

By the way: this model works perfectly with Win7 32 bit so if there is a possibility, I recommend you to use Win7.

  • Satellite A210-JA3 don't like Vista

    Hello

I don't know what happened to my computer laptop, funny, that's what happening a week or two after warranty, go figure. My laptop can not get into the office anymore. whenever I try to start the thing, I need options either Startup Repair (System Recovery) or start window normally... it takes me to what he says, he would, either restart the computer and goes right back to the same screen...

When I get to the system recovery options, no operating system is listed. make me believe my vista is corrupt or something.

So I tried to reinstall windows from the toshiba Recovery wizard start screen... recovery / factory software deal. And once I was able to get into windows and it was great... but then early or late, you try to start the computer, goes back right to the same thing, windows fails to start and its new system recovery stuff.

I'll try and release more information I know, but Im a bit technologically challenged. IM also student and can not afford one of those $ 50 / hour who waste time money and people. If anyone can help me with what they think, this is perhaps the question, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

I really wonder of your Satellite A210 doesn t like Vista because this model of laptop is really designed for Vista.
To be honest I don't know what the problem is here, and it is not easy to offer an accurate diagnosis on this virtual path.
I don't know what exact laptop configuration is and what you've done with it.

To make all this short, I think you should install OS using original Toshiba recovery image.
With the own BONES, everything should be OK and you will be able to use your laptop without these problems.

You have original Toshiba recovery installation disc?

  • Satellite A500: card reader cause BSOD

Hi I have a satellite A500 and its card reader (jmicron) is dead.
It is for me a bsod.
I solved my problem without installing driver jmicron and use xp.
In win 7 gives me a bsod always because win 7 driver jmicron.

    My question is:
Can I remove the motherboard card reader?

    Sorry for my English thanks

No, you can't do that I think that the card reader is part of the mobo and it s not removable.
But you can turn off the card reader in Device Manager.
Have you tried that? If this isn't it!

I think that you didn t install the driver on the right graphics card
It seems that your laptop supports the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 graphics chip and I think that you should simply reinstall the graphics driver on the European driver Toshiba page

  • Satellite A210 - 11K: Vista blocks the use of IE and internet

    Hello

I'll keep this short. I have the Satellite A210 - 11K with Vista Home Premium. Basically, when I installed SP1 and the other all other updates, use Internet Explorer and all other related programs has been blocked EXCEPT MSN Messenger, which proves that I could connect to the internet. To run the system restore, I could use internet proving that updates are the cause of the problem.

However, I can no longer perform the system restore, and I'm stuck with SP1 and no internet.

I tried everything Microsoft Tech Support phone for 40mins, uninstallation of different updates, play with the internet settings, change the settings in msconfig etc...

A friend of mine who is very good with the PC found that port 80 is blocked (apparently this port is very important) and my laptop is by allowing a DNS (or something...)

I need help so if anyone can help, thanks in advance 1 million

    Felix

Have you tried to find the solution to your internet provider?

They should have some experience with these issues.
To be honest I don't see the connection between the laptop to the manufacturer and your problem and I think you should contact your internet service provider. It must be a problem with the settings.

  • Satellite A210 - 127 (PSAELE) cut off and BSOD after the fresh install of Win 7

    Hello Toshiba Support Forums.

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x32bit 2 weeks ago and I have problems around him.
The only driver I have intalled was ATI video card driver and touchpad driver to make it work.

The problem is sometimes the laptop shutsdown itself and after I turn it back on it says blue screen and some other information you need, but I closed it.

Also im gamer and sometimes when I play the game it shutsdown again. When I use Google Chrome or Firefox, the browser hangs and makes the pc of the room with her for at least 10 min. it is really bad and I also want to set.

Also, I want to ask about memory card reader because I insert a card in the reader, but it does not work I think I need a driver for it but is not in the drivers Toshiba Web page.

    Thank you very much!
If you need any other information that I will deliver to you order for ifx these annoying problems!

    > The only driver I have intalled was ATI video card driver and touchpad driver to make it work.

Where did you find this ATi driver?
It could be possible that the installation of this driver ATi the BSOD.

My girlfriend has the same laptop Satellite A210 with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 graphics card. The driver version is 8.632.1.2000 and the laptop is preinstalled with Win 7

It works perfectly without any BSOD.

By the way: the cardreder works too... you could take a Vista driver or the driver put the A300 series too

  • Downgrade from Vista to XP for Satellite A210-16F PSAEL

Other users of laptops from Toshiba greetings

I come to you with what I noticed to be a fairly frequent problem for users of Satellite A2xx - downgrade from Windows Vista to XP.

I am owner of a 2 - day old of a Toshiba Satellite A210 - 16F PSAEL (AMD processor) and Vista Home Premium crashes on me during the installation of an application. So I searched the forum and found a full list of the XP drivers for the series equipped with AMD (my thanks for people who have set up their discoveries). I also found a guide to downgrade to XP, but it was the Intel-based and intended for users A200.

My question would be if there is such a guide out there for the A210 series, the AMD-based or could someone please indicate the steps to follow for the downgrade.

    Thanks in advance

Interested, too, that's why push this thread a little, aka a friendly BUMP ;)

  • Satellite A210-19 t: win 8 beta is a nightmare, but I can't go back to Vista.

    Hello

I could really do with some help.

I was part of the fools who decided to try Windows 8 a few months back to find that I can't seem to turn the tide and now my laptop is basically useless for me.

I can't seem to find a disk to reboot, but I'm not even sure I got one in the first place.

What I read online, Toshiba put everything on one partition and access you by pressing a shortcut when loading the machine upward.

I tried, but the wonderful new Windows 8 will not let me access, should it even be there in the first place.

I have a valid computer with a valid serial, etc. I want just the old BONES of return as soon as possible.

I put my paper in on the support page and that's what he said, I have:

    Satellite A210-19 t

    Part number: PSAFGE-03V011EN

    Main features

    -AMD Athlon X 2 Dual - Core TK-57 processor
-Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium Edition
-Drive DVD Super Multi (Double Layer)
    -2 048 (1 024 + 1 024) MB
    -15.4 "WXGA TFT display 1 280 x 800

Please help me to get my laptop to its previous state.

    Thanks in advance.

    > From what I've read online, Toshiba put everything on one partition and access you by pressing a shortcut when loading the machine upward.
That of right, but you will have access to this partition with factory only. Problem is that after the clean version of the OS that you will not be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery.
    > I have a valid computer with a valid serial, etc. I want just the old BONES of return as soon as possible.
Correct, but this valid serial number belongs to the operating system that you got with your laptop. In operating manuals Toshiba s is described clearly how portable computer owner should create recovery DVDs and backup the original recovery image. Using this drive you can install recovery image whenever you want.

If you n t have it there are only two possibilities:
-to order a new one from https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx (it will not be free)
d ' install own OS (you cannot use the sticker series)

Sorry, but it's a bit complicated now.

  • Satellite A210-171 - cannot install WLAN for Windows Vista driver

I downloaded a driver for vista Realtek Semiconductor Corporation wireless lan.
When I go to install the driver, I get the error message "this operating system is not supported".

    My system below details

    Toshiba Satellite A210-171
    Model number: PSAFJE
    Operating system: Vista Home Prem

I downloaded the driver from the website of UK.

Could someone help me please in installation or help resolve the problems I'm having
    See you soon

    Hello Shadow

Maybe a stupid question, but I would like to know why you need to install driver WLAN. As far as I know your laptop comes with Vista Home Premium. The recovery image (factory settings) contains the right WLAN driver.
You have lost the feature or what?
Are you still using an original preinstalled OS or you try ti install your own operating system?

  • Satellite A210-downgrade from VISTA to XP Pro SP2 - unknown base system device

I recently bought a laptop. On the Toshiba product page, it is listed as Satellite A210-199 (PSAFGE-05M00FG3). If I followed the link to the drivers page, he is listed as Equium A210 (PSAFGE-05M00FG3).

the laptop came with VISTA Home premium, I don't like / want, but works perfectly. After complete installation of Windows XP SP2 home edition Professional, (latest updates, all the drivers of Toshiba home page, etc.), hardware device Manager lists a "DEVICE BASIC SYSTEM" under "system devices", for which he cannot find drivers (Yes, it automatically searches on the internet and that did not help either).

I tried to uninstall the device and restart it, just to see what happens. And I got the ball from the standard taskbar with 'new hardware found '. Windows still do not find the drivers for it, and it still lists as a yellow exclamation in the hardware device manager. The only difference is that now he is no longer in the "system devices" section, but instead, it's an "unknown device" in the "other devices" section (you know, the big icon question yellow mark)

After a thorough cleaning is reinstalled, it is always an "unknown device" under the heading "other devices."

EDIT: maybe I should also mention that when I install graphics and sound card, says windows drivers I changed some important system files and I have to put the original cd with kit WXP SP2.

Have you installed all the drivers provided on the European driver Toshiba page?

I mean divers for card reader controller, AMD processor driver, Driver Modem, infrared Driver, etc.

    Please check all these drivers!
