Satellite A300 - 1 5 - can I use Windows 7 on it?

Hello..

I have this laptop: [Satallite A300 - 1 5 | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=EU&com.broadvis ion.session.new = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 1055589].

I want Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on my laptop, now the laptop already has Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit. I can't find drivers for my laptop to Windows 7 at the download page. Is this ok just to install Windows 7 and use the Vista drivers as new windows has good compatibility with very old components?
Any who tried Windows 7 on his laptop without having driver support for windows 7 to access to its model of laptop?

your comments are much appreciated.

Hello!

Yes, theoretically you can not install Windows 7 that s no problem, buddy! In addition, most Windows Vista drivers are working on Windows 7 too so he should t be a problem for drivers.

At the moment there is no official driver and it will take until the official Windows 7 release.

    Welcome

First of all I would like to thank you for any help or direct me to an idea about the drivers for this model, a moment, I will describe what exactly it.

I bought this laptop with Vista I got a CD with the system and on this recording were already pilots and Add-ons for your laptop or other cool things like drivers Toshiba for camera, Bluetooth, Synaptics, dvd and a program or driver software I don't know exactly what it is, but such a cool thing that allows you to adjust the lighting on the whole Panel , including a laptop with the word "Satellite". Everything fits well, but only with Vista that I received from the Board of Directors of Toshiba.

Now, I went on Windows 7 as for the fundamental factors that have webcam driver from the manufacturer Toshiba for example or a mouse. But most I count on these things I had with Vista, even if that Panel backlight laptop.

Does anyone have an idea on what all the additives in the CD that I got, it of Vista where, somehow, you can extract these extras or is a site where you can download all or a list of these additives to win game 7

Thanks again in advance for any help.

    Hello

First of all, you can download all the drivers and tools on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Illuminating buttons and illuminated satellite to install Toshiba Value added Package. It activates the functions on the FN keys.
As far as I know that lighting can also be enabled/disabled in the BIOS. Check this box!

The driver for the webcam is also listed on the Toshiba page and touchpad driver to allow virtual scrolling.

    I hope I could help a bit! :)

  • Satellite A300 - 1 MM-can I switch to Windows 8?

    Hello!

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300 - 1 MM.
It is Windows Vista, which is preinstalled.
I can it move to Windows 8?
    Thanks for the tips.

In general your old A300 is not supported for Wn8. It is supported for Win7 only. Not same A500 is supported for upgrading Win8.
I have also, but running with Win7 32 bit and I m very happy with it.

As far as I know that Vista Win8 upgrade is not supported so that you can try is to install Win7 and install the upgrade for Win8. With the drivers and especially with Toshiba Utilities and tools can be a bit problematic, but you can try to use the stuff proposed for the new model of laptop.

Unfortunately on this forum we don't have much information about these updates.
If you try to install Win8 thanks for posting comments.

  • Satellite A300-1MP: I can't find the exact drivers

    Hello

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite A300-1MP.
I just installed windows xp pro on, but does not work most of all - I need the drivers.

The problem is in the drivers page, there are a lot of different drivers even when I specify which computer I have.

For example - there are 3 types of wireless communication drivers:
    of intel, atheros and realtek.

inside the Intel link there are also several versions:

    Intel PRO/Wireless 2100
    Intel PRO/Wireless 2200/2915
    and so on...

So, how do I know I've got the exact material?

    Hello

Your laptop belongs to the series of PSAG8E (model number located at the bottom of the unit).
You must choose this model number in the form of driver download.

It seems that the laptop has been equipped with the
    -Intel 5100AGN wireless
    -Realtek LAN card
    -Graphics chip: INTEL GM45

However, all the Win XP drivers are located on the European driver Toshiba page.
Choose the right model, as I said above!

You can get on a conversion of 70% in reading a file in Windows Media Player using something like Dragon Naturally Speaking to convert. If you set the playback speed to slow in Windows Media Player to play > play speed, you will get a better result. The best option is to download the file to an audio transcription service, but which generally costs 0, 50-1, 00 per minute of audio.

The OEM Versions of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 all have no rights transfer.

OEM of Windows versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

You will need to purchase a new license of full version. You can purchase a Windows 7 Professional OEM entirely new license and use the product key to activate it:

You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.

There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft. »)

  • I can't use windows Explorer or the network drive mapping to access my NAS drive more.

    original title: strange NAS problem

Hi everyone I can't seem to fix this strange problem.

I can't use windows Explorer or the network drive mapping to access my NAS drive more.
I am running windows 7 Professional 32-bit on my PC, and until about a week ago she accessed from my PC very well.

The location could not be reached and have not been able to run since said today that I went to update it and the drive mapped. I'm at my wits end.

    Here is some info.

I can access to other computers and devices on my network.

    I can access the internet.
I have a windows XP PC in the House who can always connect to my fine NAS drive (even if it's not mine).
    I PING the NAS drive.
The NAS drive will do the same if connected via cable or by wireless.

UPDATE: after the implementation of a shared folder on a Windows XP computer on the same network I am also unable to acsess the part of my PC. So I can assume that I can't browse all share folders or NAS drives on my local network.

    Help, please.

Thanks for the help, but I fixed my problem

Here's what I did in case anyone wants to know.

I went into Device Manager and went to network adapters.
I then expanded this section and under view changed to display hidden items.
Several hundred elements appears (for most 6to4 adapters) and I deleted all the.
Then click scan for new hardware.
    And... everything works again! YAY!
