  I try to explain my problem (I'll try because English isn't my motherlanguage wull so hards to ensure that you understand me Hi!).
  Usually I use my Satellite A300-1GC also for two or three days (I watch divx on tv and other small applications, but nothing special) and never happened to me that yesterday was happing!

  I installed a game (Jekyll & Hyde) and I played it with the pc cable hook up to electricity. After a while (I think only an hour) the computer turns off! After that was not possibel to turn it on nothing! No light was on the same battery icon nothing complitely dead! After about 10 minutes instead of the icons light was on and so I was able to restart the computer. Windows XP doesn't give me any error on the "blackout" reports the system. I restarted the game and play with him for about two hours without any problem! If you have something (hihihihi) understud my question is:

  Whay you do that I can do so that this accident will not happen more? Is there some test or newspaper or something similar I can read to see if there is any hardware/software problems? May need a BIOS update? I mean, is there anyone who have the same laptop and have similar experience and sort it out with an update?
  On short time I'm planing to install windows 7 (two DVDs I received from Toshiba) but first I must address this problem.

  Usually, if the laptop shuts down during a game, it s caused by a higher internal temperature to protect the equipment.

  I put t know how long you already have Satellite A300, but usually the laptop must be cleaned every 3 months using a jet of compressed air. You will find here in the forum how an article on this subject:

  Also make sure that this new Toshiba Web site display driver is installed.

• Problems with Satellite A300 - 1GC XP install - CD does not?

  I have a few looks to round in various forums and found no answer to everything.

  I have the Satellite A300-1GC and had (from last night) vista on it. As caused Vista
  a lot of problems with different programs, I decided to get rid of him.

  The problem is now--if I stick my XP installation CD it it bed "press any key to boot from CD".
  Do that and then nothing happens. The CD read head stops going back and forward
  but nothing happens at all. Not even the beginning of the blue installation screen.

  Any ideas where this comes from?

  The CD-rom can also be run in AHCI mode (can a CD player what do I do?) and requires drivers?
  I have tried various CD XP - neither work. The last one I had was with SP3 and build in February 2009 so quite recent.

  In your case the question has nothing to do with the SATA mode (AHCI mode or Compatible) but it looks like the CD/DVD drive cannot handle the Win XP disc
  Why? Who knows

  Always is it that the CD cannot be read and so the installation can not get.

  Try to copy this disc by using another computer and then you can try using the disc copied on order to install Win XP.

  Just FYI: I use TDK (CD and DVD) r discs... I am very satisfied

  I know it has been on many topics and forums before but-

  Satellite A300 Toshiba registered repairman after only another technician claimed the question was the motherboard.

  So a new hard drive had to be replaced (it was old age) by registered repairer.

  Graphics card died - map is part of the motherboard = motherboard replaced.

  Supposed to win - phone to make sure everything is well = "there still the issue."

  QUESTION = RANDOM COMPUTER RESTARTS WHEN THE POWER CORD IS PLUGGED

  I'm really sorry to hear that you have such problems after Exchange of motherboard and I really don't understand why service is not properly check and test the features of the laptop.
  To discuss these issues is quite complicated because we can only speculate what may be the problem and no one can say with certainty why this happens.

  In my opinion all you can do is to do some tests and try to do a rational conclusion, but in the end service should solve the problem.

  Just a few questions about described:
  Everything is OK is when you use the power supply battery?
  How it works with power supply current when the battery is removed?
  Start the machine and enter the BIOS settings. Leave it for a while and check if computer laptop turns off again?
  What operating system do you use? Are you using the original OS that you got with the A300 or clean install of the OS?

• Satellite A300-1J1 - webcam freezes

  My built in web camera freezes after 20 seconds of use (even no registration, just to be on) and then takes a few pictures every 10 to 40 seconds. It is never used to freeze so I was wondering maybe I needed to download new software, but I couldn't find anything.
  I checked all the system requirements and they are all filled.

  To be honest I m wondering about this question. I have the Satellite A300 too and yesterday all night I used the camera for video calling my friend. I never had a problem and I was surprised of the image quality quite well.

  Regarding your problem, you should try to update the driver for the webcam that you can find on the Toshiba site:
  http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > Download Driver

  But before installing the new version, you must remove the old one. Restart the computer and then install the latest version.

However, my experience is not funny, so far, I have problems at the start of the laptop, once the Bureau instructed the icons on the icon bar takes so long to load, when that happens I can't do anything like open the start menu, or so her delay as the laptop for a long time that I give up and hold the power button shut down the laptop down...   one last thing, my laptop is often BSoD after the awakening of fashion 'sleep'... and it restarts automatically so I can't collect a lot of information... but the windows solutions Center says something about the driver ATI... but I have the driver from toshiba Web site, do not know if there is a way to fix this problem as well.

  I have very good experiences with Satellite A300 and Win7 installation. No problem at all.
  I can see on the download page of Toshiba that your model of laptop is fully supported for Win7 and everything you need to do is install all the stuff of Toshiba in order of good facilities.

  My order of facilities is:
  -Win7 Home Premium (new installation)
  -chipset driver
  -Storage Manager
  -display driver
  -driver sound
  -modem driver
  -utility supervisor
  -infrared
  -patches
  -configfree
  -VAP
  Hardware - toshiba
  Control - HDMI
  -WLAN driver

  Everything works well but lacks some drivers

  Added Vista tips:
  Toshiba - help - working properly
  -Card reader - installed correctly
  -Webcam driver for A500 - tested with Skype - works correctly.

  I don't really know what you're doing wrong. Maybe some background process block put into regular service.
  I recommend to try again and make easy step by step following my list and let me know what stage you will be faced with the issue described.

  I got nearley two years ago to Toshiba dvd with windows 7 + all drivers for my computer laptop buit unfortunately I'm not home and I decided to upgrade Windows xp to Windows 7 so I have a few questions:

  1) there is a software (for Toshiba) that I can load after that I have ionstalled windows 7 that connect on the internet will be automately finde and download/install the drivers?

  (2) or by the way, I downloaded the files Zippes 12 I hope they are all the correct drivers for my laptop but it's hear someody who have the files name complite list I need to do?

  Last thing, I'm really scared to get in shape and rest with a computer laptop ko: (...) Thear is a utility that works in windows 7 that will update the bios without risk or u suggest staying with the bios I have now (that I got when I bought this laptop about 4 years ago.)

  I have Satellite A300 and use it with Win7 32-bit for some time. At first, I must say that my machine still has original version of the BIOS as your one. It turns out that you need new BIOS if the laptop works well and stabile. Don t change anything.
  Back to your questions:

  (1) this application doesn't exist. After the fresh install of Win7, you must download every single driver, tool or utility and install one by one.

  (2) all the drivers, tools and utilities that you can download on the download page of Toshiba - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
  Here's my list how to install everything you need:

  -Win7
  -chipset driver
  -Storage Manager
  -display driver
  -driver sound
  -modem driver
  -utility supervisor
  -infrared
  -patches
  -configfree
  -VAP
  Hardware - toshiba
  Control - HDMI
  -WLAN driver

  Everything works well but lacks some drivers

  Adding Vista drivers:
  Toshiba - help - working properly
  -Card reader - installed correctly
  -Webcam driver for A500 - tested with Skype - works correctly.
  Driver - Synaptics

  My machine works perfectly with this installation order. Test it.
  At the end once more: BIOS update is not necessary so don't change anything.

  You must wait until all the drivers for Win 7 come out

  is it possible to connect an A300 1GC with Windows XP to a fullHD TFT via HDMI Port?
  I can't find the drivers for the HDMI port on the Toshiba support page, there is one for Vista, so it is not possible with Windows XP?

  The VGA port can´t normal display solutions-HD 1920 x 1080, correct? (ATI Mobility HD 3650, 1 GB)

  AFAIK for HDMI port you need separate driver. Audio and video signal should be addressed without any problem, but I'm skeptical about obtaining a full HD resolution.

• Satellite A205-S4777 random freezing, laptop currently unusable

  Hi all

  I tried to fix a few problems with my sister's laptop. She pointed out (and I have seen) completely random suspended system. The laptop everything freezes and does not recover. Only solution was to manually reboot the machine.

  I tested the RAM, HD and disassembled the laptop and reinstall the heat sink applying AS5. In my attempt to delivery of a damaged operating system I have scratched the operating system and tried to clean install several operating systems (vista, win7, and most recently ubuntu 11.04).

  What is surprising is the fact that I can do the following without problems:
  -memtest for 12 hours
  -seatools UBCD for a long time
  -surf around the BIOS
  However when I try to install a new os it invariably crashes / freezes.

  Did I miss something? Can someone shed light on the issue here?

  How many memory Modules are installed?

  One of them is maybe defective, despite the passage of Memtest.

  I have some problem with ATI 3470HD. recently I bought the TV Samsung 2333HD LCD, when I connect it with Notepad (as the main and only monitor) in some images of minutes simply to freezes and goes black for a few seconds. It's like graphics card would be reaload itself (tried on several resolutions). I tried to connect the LCD TV to the PC, and it works. However, it is interesting that I also tried to connect the laptop with the other LCD TV and it worked great.
  There is another question, is it normal that 720 p HD video freezes?
  I think laptop seding for sevice. By the way, I tried 3DMARK and also VideoCardStabilityTest, all good. Any idea?

  I had this problem for the last few weeks.

  Started during the game Football Manager 2011 and Windows Media Player in the background.
  Blue screen crash is came and never recovered from that, so I have it restored to its original condition and installed all the windows updates which have been important etc.

  Since then he has worked from time to time but always randomly freezes when I can move the mouse and but nothing responds.
  Did all error checks and scans and nothing does not appear.

  Don t that s so many laptop OS freezes for different reasons
  -RAM issues
  -Questions BONE (graft)
  -Problems commutabilite between software
  -Serious problems of hardware (motherboard, etc.)
  -High temperature

  First of all I recommend to reinstall the operating system and clean the modules of cooling using a jet of compressed air, this will remove dust COO vents that may prevent air circulation. This can cause a temperature more high which could affect the functionality of the laptop.

  Hi everyone, I recently bought a Satellite A300 pre loaded with Vista just before Christmas.

  Everything seemed to go OK first but now my computer has taken to freezing on me at least once a day and to do everything I have to the control + alt + delete and restart. It is extremely annoying.   I too have a PSAG0A of A300 Satallite that freezes in Vista Home Premium. It varies between 30 seconds and a few hours before he can lock up, but it has been getting worse over time. Analysis antivirus shows an own system of several vendor scanning but it is difficult to make them fill out now because of the freeze. I am looking for a factory reset with the recovery CD, otherwise I'll have to take for a cheque of guarantee. If anyone knows of a driver who needs to update or what can be the cause please advise.

  A little tugging or pulling up to my laptop, the power cable when falls.

  I wonder really after that 10 months you did nothing to solve this power plug the question.
  Why don't you contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider? I guess that laptop has guaranteed valid and these issues can be fixed for free.

  I am also owners A300 and use my laptop about a year now. I use my laptop every day for my work and it runs more than 8 hours a day. So far, I did not notice any hardware or software problem. I ve defined the parameters of power management the balanced diet combined with the minimum level set in the cooling method option. Laptop runs quiet and, at the same time, has enough power for my daily activities as Internet, office applications and Skype.

  It is not easy to say what the problem with your laptop, but I recommend you contact the closest service Toshiba and to clarify these issues.
