  The point is that the product key from the underside of the laptop can t be used with another drive in Windows. It s just for the preinstalled OEM version and doesn t work with other versions.

  Normally you n t have to enter a product key if you are using the Toshiba recovery disc because it contains a picture of the factory settings and is different from a disc of Microsoft Vista.

  Anyway, as said Akuma you can order a new drive Toshiba Recovery directly.
  The another model of laptop recovery disk will not work because the hardware is different.

  I have a Satellite A300 but do not know the rest of the model code. The guy in that I had removed it the sticker of the series. When I try to download the drivers, I can choose between:
  Satellite A300-ST3511
  Satellite A300-ST3512
  Satellite A300-ST4002
  Satellite A300-ST4505
  Satellite A300-ST6511

  In Control Panel > hardware and sound > devices and printers. I see my laptop, and it says A300 model.

  When I go to control panel > system and security > system. All I can see there is this cpu I have (Intel Pentium Dual CPU T3200.

  Any help would be appreciated to identify this laptop or get the right drivers for it.

  What you can do is to install the Toshiba Tempro software. You can download it here.

  After installation of Tempro open and all the info on your machine appears. Important for you is to know what part number your machine.
  If possible post it here and we can help you find the right software and download links for all the things you need.

  Hey all!
  recently my A300 began to crash randomly. First of all, originally WinVista crashed, so I installed a clean version of Win7 with recent drivers. Now, the laptop hang 1-2 min after the start or the reactivation of the mode standby. But this only happens when the laptop is still cold, i.e. when the laptop has been disabled for a longer period of time.

  Now, what I've done:

  -re-installed Win7 64 bit SP1 with the latest drivers on a new hard drive
  -Win7 Memcheck: No problem found
  -Memtest86 +: no problem found

  However, the problem persists. The LER Win7 isn't really a help. It lists only the error the system stopped unexpectedly but provides no specific error code.

  Any ideas how to solve this problem? Thank you very much in advance!

  To be honest on this virtual path, it is not easy to offer the exact diagnosis. What you can try is to install the original Vista recovery image and check if the same problem occurs with the factory settings. If Yes, may be some material, it must be related issue.

  Another way to reinstall Win7 and test it with naked BONE at first. Install drivers step by step and test how your laptop responds to see if you will be able to find a reason why this happens.

  I currently own a Satellite Pro A120 (model: PSAC1A - K 00, 005) Windows XP Professional... I do not have an ounce of trouble with this computer and not have it to a Toshiba service center in the almost three years I've owned it so far! This computer received training from me at the moment and never gave me any major problems!

  The only problem I had (and it wasn't linked computer) was that my modem to broadband wireless gave the soul and I had to have a professional appearance of home - COMPUTER problem is the modem! I had previously updated a week before and it overloaded for sodomy and he said, "I don't want to play more!" and stopped working! This then cost me $ 299 for a new modem and on the reverse a new first a loser who has been blamed by my ISP and I went back and got a new free!   Have you tried to do an update of Toshiba Assist? A new version and all the other stuff from Toshiba which you can find here:

  Maybe the update will solve the problem.

  On command buttons, I think you need to configure iTunes as standard Media Player and select all the files to iTunes playlist.

  The laptop has 6 multimedia keys on top.
  As described in the manual, they are supposed to perform the following functions shown (from left to right): (I'm dialing for convinience to talk about later)
  1 mute / power button LED
  2 CD/DVD button
  3. Play/Pause button
  4 Stop button
  5. back button
  6 next button

  Can someone explain all the buttons above.

  The only function these peform for me are as follows;
  1st button only allows the LED turned off/turned on but does not any silent operation with any application (not even Windows Media Player). Even when he performs the operation LED is off; only 6 keys and the bottom screen 'SATELLITE' is disabled; the other LEDS (in DC, Powe. Drums, disks) are always on... What is the problem and how do I start its silent operation so that I can cut the pc with any operation of the application.

  Toshiba Assist-> optimize-> Toshiba Button Support.
  Select Dimmer.exe and click on register and click on 'Browse' button to Toshiba support and go in C:/Program Files/Toshiba/Toshiba button Support (or TBS)

  Now the button will start the dimmer.exe

  Even you can do if you want to use Mute or other applications
