Satellite A300 - BIOS downgrade after upgrading the BIOS

I did an upgrade of BIOS of victory of version 1.6 of 2.10 - at the recommendation of the Toshiba site, for my laptop A300 1N0 - model PSAGUE.
Touchpad no longer works. I have 2 operating systems, XP and W7 is the same.

I start the laptop with the Windows Live CD and Ubuntu Livecd and nothing has changed.
The mouse works, but the touchpad is still dead.
Any advice?

How can I find the old version of the BIOS to do a downgrade?

Try contacting the Toshiba authorized service provider in your country. They have access to the database of Toshiba and the access to the Archives of BIOS.
I'm sure that they can send you old BIOS version and you can downgrade BIOS on your laptop.

Hi, I'm newbie here. This is my first post, so sorry for the plain text.

I have a problem with the laptop Satellite L50-B-177 1 month of my wife. After update BIOS (from Toshiba Service Station) to version 1.70 I have this problem: it is impossible to use symbols of Polish that comes with ALT + z, ALT + x, ALT + c. other - ALT + a - works normally.

Problem is the operating system independent (even on the live session of Ubuntu). I understand that this is a specific problem for the location of the Poles, but causes cell useless for my wife (she is a teacher and write a lot of text). As much as I know BIOS downgrade is not available for customers, and the weeks of waiting for the new package of BIOS is out of the question.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Hello

This problem occurred imadiately after updating the BIOS?

Have you tried to set the BIOS settings by default once the update is complete?
    If this isn't it.

Also, check if the Polish keyboard language was chosen correctly and as a default value.

    Comments are greatly appreciated.

Also in the BIOS, you can enable and disable the lighting. Check this box!

Lighting will also be controlled due to the added value package. You need to reinstall it and the Toshiba site, you can find a newer version:

    Hello

Try to update the BIOS again. After that make sure that the wireless and Bluetooth lights is lit. Also download and installed the drivers of bluetooth and verification.

After the BIOS also check in BIOS if Bluetooth is turned on:

Menu of the System Configuration > Integrated device options > Enable/disable integrated Bluetooth Radio device

No one knows how to fix this?

    Hi dilettafornasiero,

I think you forgot to install Toshiba value added Package this package contains the driver for these buttons (lighted) media where you can start Windows media player, for example.

You should check the Web from Toshiba site again and search for VAP also indicated for Satellite A300. Download and install the package and after I restarted the lighted buttons should start working.

    Check this box!

  • Is satellite C855D - 13L - possible to upgrade the processor

    Hello

I created this topic to see if it is possible to update or change the processor in my laptop... I can barely work with programs that I owe to the University...

    Next to the processor, which is a * AMD APU E1 - 1200 with graphics Radeon (TM) HD (2 CPUs), _ ~ 1.4GHz_*... I remember * RAM: 6 GB * and good video card: * AMD Radeon HD 7310 (3 GB) *.

    Hi Cosmin

The whole upgrade CPU is a little difficult.
    Let the facts:
-Is this laptop manufacturers don t s support all updated CPU and don t advice these updates.
-The fact is that laptops using special versions of BIOS modified for each series laptop and therefore different processors might be problematic due to the compatibility of the BIOS. In the worst case, your laptop would not start after upgrading CPU.
-The fact is that your laptop supports the chipset AMD Hudson A68M and ONLY AMD processors would be supported by the chipset.
-The fact is that laptop procedure disassembly is not very easy and there is a high risk of damage of the part while dismantling the unit.
-The fact is that you will NOT see large performance gain after upgrading the CPU. I recommend you replace the HARD drive with an SSD for performance gain.

Here are some facts that you should consider before considering the replacement of the CPU.

  • Satellite A300-15 was: How does the Toshiba control keys?

    I recently bought a Satellite A300-15A; model: PSAJ4E;

The laptop has 6 multimedia keys on top.
As described in the manual, they are supposed to perform the following functions shown (from left to right): (I'm dialing for convinience to talk about later)
1 mute / power button LED
    2 CD/DVD button
    3. Play/Pause button
    4 Stop button
    5. back button
    6 next button

Can someone explain all the buttons above.

    The only function these peform for me are as follows;
1st button only allows the LED turned off/turned on but does not any silent operation with any application (not even Windows Media Player). Even when he performs the operation LED is off; only 6 keys and the bottom screen 'SATELLITE' is disabled; the other LEDS (in DC, Powe. Drums, disks) are always on... What is the problem and how do I start its silent operation so that I can cut the pc with any operation of the application.

2nd button does that open Windows Media Player. What it is supposed to do exactly?

All other keys do nothing but work on Windows Media Player. They do not work on any other application; either VLC or any other. How can I make it work on all multimedia applications...

Please do develop and respond with solutions.

The last of the woks to buttons ONLY with Windows Media Player! You can't use it with 3rd party like WinAmp player.

According to the first 2 buttons:
You can change the functionality assign the right exe file.

    For example:
If you want to assign the light On / Off instead of Mute, you have to go

Toshiba Assist-> optimize-> Toshiba Button Support.
Select Dimmer.exe and click on register and click on 'Browse' button to Toshiba support and go in C:/Program Files/Toshiba/Toshiba button Support (or TBS)

Now the button will start the dimmer.exe

Even you can do if you want to use Mute or other applications

  • Satellite A300 (PSAJ0E) - update after the BIOS, I can't start

    Hello

I have an A30, and I tried a bios update to 4.2 which is the latest version for my model. BIOS update went well spent, that it prompted me to restart the laptop once the process is complete, but after this, I was not able to start. I made the screen where I can enter the BIOS Setup (that I can actually do and I am able to change the settings and save them) but after that the screen goes black and it crashes.

At first, I thought I did something wrong and upgrade does not work well, then I started looking for the bios crisis recovery methods, I found this article:
    http://CRD.Y1.cc/
After the steps, I managed to get my USB floppy drive works and, hopefully, flashing the BIOS, but it didn't help it would always hang at the same stage.

My laptop has a warranty expired, so I can't fix it for free, and the service will probably cost me half of its price. Is there anything else I can do to get it fixed?

I thought to Flash an older version of bios - perhaps the last 4.2 is not really compatible with my model, but I couldn't find everything... is it possible to get an older version of bios and give it a try with a floppy drive?

    Thank you
    Anton

    *@DCRM*
You have a laptop A300D. It s a series different and, therefore, you couldn't t use the BIOS files designed for A300 series!
This may damage the module ROM and mobo!
You can find the latest version of the BIOS on the Toshiba European page of the driver... otherwise, you will need to contact the ASP in your country for assistance, or an older version of BIOS.

Must add driver SATA while installing Windows.
During the installation process you will be asked to add the driver (F6 key)
Then you could add the connected USB floppy disk driver.
