Satellite A300D-11 q battery problem

Hello!

I was on the point of start almost the same topic, when I saw there was very similar question several hours - [http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=61884&tstart=0]. Yet, I decided to share my problem.

I have the Satellite A300D-11 q PA3534U-1BRS 4000 mAh battery and 10.8 V.
The difference in my case is that I bought a new battery, PA3533U-1BRS, 7200 mAh, 10.8V, but a third-party manufacturer.
Before that, I was told by the official service of Toshiba PA3533U-1BRS is compatible with my computer. Of course, this trusted third party (Brainydeal, a U.S.-based company., but the battery is made in China, by AGPTEK). It was pretty tempting as the price was half that quoted by Toshiba for a 6000 one mAh. And there were 16/16 sides of 5 stars on Amazon for the same battery.

So, the problem. I had very similar flashing red LED, but nevertheless the battery could be charged and was able to power the laptop for about 2 hours. However, the computer could not get information nor on the level of load (and therefore couldn't not to assess what is the period of hibernation, so was suddenly stopped), voltage, or manufacturer.

And the model seems to be PA3593U-1BRS depending on the software (Lavalys Everest and also BatteryMon).
I've had a few matches clumsy with Brainydeal where they assured me that the battery is high quality and all going well, 3593 is compatible with my laptop model.

Finally, I returned it to the manufacturer for replacement, and yesterday, I received a new. However, the same is happening again.
Exactly the same thing.

Before writing back to the manufacturer, I decided to check here for review.
May be the battery Electronics is a failure?
Or could it be somehow related to the fact that the computer is purchased the battery - of the USA and Europe? Or I just had very bad luck?

Just one question: the old battery is working correctly?
I mean do a blink led using the old battery or only the new battery?

I read in some discussions that last BIOS should be used for series Satellite A300 to solve some problems of battery.

Please check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS!

  • Satellite A300D - creating recovery disk problem

    Hello.

I have Toshiba Satellite A300D-11 t (extended A300D-11) and I would like to create recovery disk. Problem is that I can't run the Toshiba Recovery disk creation tool. There is no shortcut in the start menu.
I tried to run Program Files.

Program itself exists (or at least I think it does), there are files in the Program Files folder, in "Programs and features" program is also so I could remove it.
Simply click on the file TosRDC.exe (or any other file *.exe in this case) and it does not start.

For memory - recovery partition exists and has not been changed.

System - Vista Home Premium 32 bit.
    What should do?

    Hello

I would say to pick up the machine from the disk and then, immediately after the machine, you should try to create a recovery disk. It could be that something in the meantime destroyed some piece of software in your operating system that could be the reason of this problem.

Maybe not a very elegant solution but the only one that works every time.

  • On the new Satellite C50-A-19U battery problem

    Hello

A few days ago I bought a new notebook Satellite C50-A-19U.

Everything works without problems, except when I unplug the power cable, the battery level goes from 100% to 50% both.

If I try to charge the phone, battery load normally up to 50% and then spend 50% to 100%.

    Anyone facing this problem?

I don't really know what may be the problem here. Try to use the battery until it will be completely empty and let it be fully charged again.

Please watch carefully if the same happens again and send feedback.

  • Satellite A100-225 - charging battery problem

    Hi people,

My Satellite A100-225 can't hold the charge when running. If I use processor heavy applications, the battery will drain in about half an hour and recharge only when the cover is closed (standby mode) or the laptop is turned off.

When the exhausted battery and the laptop turns off, I have to remove the battery, press the on/off switch, replace the battery, then let it charge for a while before I can use it again.

The laptop will power any if I remove the battery and the runoff of current alternative.

I tried a spare battery, but exactly the same thing happens.
I also updated the Bios with the latest version (6).
Laptop runs Windows XP Home Edition.
    Laptop is out of warranty.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    See you soon
    Steve

Looks like a hardware problem. I mean, if your battery runs out when the machine is connected to the pit of the wall adapter (this is what I did not understand), so something in the subsystem of your laptop power goes down.

Have you ever sent the machine to a partner of service authorized or is the machine still under warranty?

  • On the new Satellite C50-A-14W battery problem

A few days ago, I bought Toshiba Satellite c - 50 a - 14w. The accumulator is recharged normally (at 100%), but when I plug the computer in the farm shows that 72% charged.

This means that the battery is broken?

    Hello

New battery needs to be calibrated in case to reach full performance.

To calibrate the battery, you must charge the battery until the battery indicator turn green (or blue). Then disconnect the power adapter and keep the battery discharge until it is completely empty.
This procedure should be repeated two, three times in the line.

If the battery charge status would not be changed, even if the battery has been calibrated, you should get in touch with Toshiba authorized service provider to check or replace the battery.

  • On Satellite L50-B-1NL battery problem

    Community salvation.

I bought this model of laptop in August and noticed problems with the battery.

Recently, the laptop will stop when the operating system said that it was still more than a year and a half hours of charge left. I have recalibrated the battery and it was working fine after that, until about 10 days later when he repeated the same behavior.

I checked the preinstalled Toshiba Health Monitor, which reports the battery has no problem, I was wondering if anyone here has experienced this problem on this page or a similar model?

I am currently using the 'eco' power setting which is the default value for this computer and the operating system is Windows 8.1.

Are there known issues with the recent Windows operating system who had misconstrued the battery that I may know?

All the tips are greatly appreciated.

Windows system does not affect the performance of the battery, but Windows system provides some battery settings in the Windows power options.

In Control Panel-> settings-> advanced options power options power station, you will find the settings in the farm.
Here, you can configure when the laptop should power off.

But to be honest I don't know if all the settings would be responsible for your problem of battery power m.

It looks that the laptop does not report the level of battery power so I recommend to calibrate the battery once more, if the problem would still appear, you need to replace the battery.

  • Satellite L500 - 1 7 battery problem

    Hi all

I recently bought a new laptop, the Satellite L500 - 1 7. It works well except that I have a question: I am aware of the fact, that the battery lasts about 2-2, 5 hours. But is it normal to make the computer stop when the sign of the battery watch 22% (happens after about 2.25 hours)? Then, as soon as I put in the power cable, the battery sign indicates suddenly 5%.
Is - this usual or something wrong?

    Thanks in advance.

At first, I must say that 2.5 hours working time on battery power is really great and it is the same with my Satellite A300.

To be honest, the whole story is a bit strange to me. Usually before the laptop shuts you should hear and see battery alarm when the critical power level is reached.
Please try to change these settings in the advanced power settings and watch what is happening exactly. Set it to 10 or 15% and also the settings what should happen when the critical threshold is reached (Standby/Hibernate / OFF switching).

If the critical level is 5%, I can't imagine the laptop turns off 22% without this battery alarm message.
How do you know that's going to happen on 22% when the laptop turns off suddenly?

Later, I plugged the cable from the charger and after some time, I recognize that the battery is not its 0% all the time. When I unplug the charger is shut off my computer.

Can someone help me? Computer is 2 years. The light on the charger is plugged into the lighting is so its ok but the charger light is not lighting and when I type mouse battery on the corner of the screen, it says plugged in, does not support.

    Hey Buddy,

Can you do a little test please?
Remove the battery and try to start your laptop with AC adapter only.

If your computer starts correctly it s just a malfunction of the battery, or AC adapter is affected. Of course, it could be mainboard itself too, but swap the battery or an AC adapter / CC should be the first step and is not that expensive.

    only 150 minutes?
How long it should run on battery?

In General for this model of laptop 2 hours of uptime a pile of food is quite good.

    Hello

I recently got Windows 7 on my laptop Satellite A300D and I have problems with the Aero graphics.
I can't fix it because my display driver does not support aero graphics and my driver (which I downloaded it the TOSHIBAS DRIVERS site) does not have something on WDDM...

    Please helpo me...

    Thank you very much

    Hello

WDDM means Windows Display Driver Model.
Check out this MS page for more details
    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/library/aa480220.aspx

    and Wikipedia:
    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Display_Driver_Model

Usually, the graphics card driver should support this
As much as I know, that you need to install the latest DirectX Windows 7 supports DirectX10 and Vista supported DirectX9.

What to say; I use the driver of Toshiba page and I was able to use Aero m.
But note; Aero must be supported by the graphics card and other components of portable equipment. If the hardware requirements is too low, then you would not be able to activate Aero.

  • On Satellite A300D battery problem

    Hello friends!

Don't you know that we have guaranteed about the battery? I mean my battery runs for 15 minutes.
Can I have another for warranty?

    17-F A300D

    Thank you.

Satellite A300D is old enough laptop model so I don't think you can t get new battery for free.
For more information please contact the nearest authorized maintainer and clarify this point.

In the worst cases, you have to buy batteries and it can not be so expensive. Remove the battery and check the part number. Use Google and check prices in different stores online.

  • Satellite A300D-15B - off and charging problem

    Hello

I have a Satellite A300D-15B, running Windows 7 32 bit, which has bought used recently. I encountered some problems and I hope that someone can help me with!

First of all, the day I got the machine, he spent all of a sudden, but turned back immediately and seems to be ok. Subsequently, 3 weeks later (Saturday 2 July) I was installing some software when I got an AGV virus warning, in a few moments the machine again is turned off suddenly. Unfortuanetly right now it will not turn back and the costs/AC power indicator do not come. After some research, I found that remove the BIOS battery and power dissipation allowed me to turn on the machine. Are there any known issues that could be the cause?

Second, once I had the laptop to turn on after you stop suddenly on Saturday, I found that the charger will not yet be you register as being plugged in unless I have use the folling procedure.
    (1) disconnect the power cable fuse from the transformer block
    (2) remove the battery
    3) plug into the DC Jack
    (4) plug the power cord for the transformer that causes the power led on the laptop to turn on.
    (5) reconnect the battery

The laptop then charges normally, I use it to write this post.

I must use this process whenever the unit is unplugged the sector or charger, which is irritating and also concern that there could be trouble on the horizon.

Any help would be much appreciated.
    see you soon
    John

    Hi John,.

You wrote that your laptop runs with Windows 7 and the first question you mentioned could be linked to the operating system only. You can test one thing please? Restore factory using Toshiba recovery disc. The disc will restore original settings of the case which is pretested by Toshiba.

If it s just a software related problem the recovery disc will resolve this problem.

Unfortunately, it could be a malfunction of the motherboard also. Are you using the original Toshiba AC/DC adapter or 3rd party one?
