• Satellite 2430-402, display driver problem

  I have a Satellite 2450-201. Very often when the system comes back to hibernate the system will not reboot, it gets stuck after the opening logo. I have to turn it off then then got in safe mode and then restart. I get a message that the system has recovered from a failure of the device and it identifies the driver of Nvidia display as the culprit. I have re-charge the last driver from Toshiba, but if I try AN update of Microsoft, the screen goes crazy, and I have to go back through the re-boot and safe mode thing. • Satellite A100-225 - charging battery problem

  Hi people,

  My Satellite A100-225 can't hold the charge when running. If I use processor heavy applications, the battery will drain in about half an hour and recharge only when the cover is closed (standby mode) or the laptop is turned off.

  When the exhausted battery and the laptop turns off, I have to remove the battery, press the on/off switch, replace the battery, then let it charge for a while before I can use it again.

  The laptop will power any if I remove the battery and the runoff of current alternative.

  I tried a spare battery, but exactly the same thing happens.
  I also updated the Bios with the latest version (6).
  Laptop runs Windows XP Home Edition.
  Laptop is out of warranty.

  Anyone have any ideas?

  Looks like a hardware problem. I mean, if your battery runs out when the machine is connected to the pit of the wall adapter (this is what I did not understand), so something in the subsystem of your laptop power goes down.

• Satellite 2430-402: 437 Application error during recovery

  Right, I've got a Toshiba Satellite 2430-402 (purchased new) for at least 3 years. I have formated several times before and re-loaded windows back on with no problems until now.

  The problem only started two days ago, when I noticed my CD drive was not recognized. So I decided to format etc, came out the disk Recovery Utility that came only with the computer to install everything, and it will not go beyond 12%. I'm greeted by * Application error 437
  Can not read the file.

  I left really stuck and cannot load anything. I fdisc / formatted /spinrite / kill the hard disk, just in case where there is something nasty on here and can still get nowhere. This is the first time I'm really stuck.

  This could be the engraver of CD or would it be the hard drive or basically the computer is nakered. I inspected the recovery disk, and they are all clean!

  I got my satellite 2430 402 for about 2 years and it was absolutely perfect, but recently, I have noticed a problem that worsens every day. every few minutes the arrow mode icon turns green (without me touching the Fn key) and I lost control of the computer... strange writing appears... assistants open and close in front of me and im totally helpless that the keyboard stops working during the event... it continues for less than a minute and then everything goes back to normal for a minute or 2 then the same thing happens again...

  There could be different reasons for this... HARDWARE or SOFTWARE!

  First, you need to check if this occurs only when you are running windows.

  SOFTWARE:

  If so,.
  (1) a malware (trojan, keylogger etc.) can be installed on your laptop, or

  (2) a bad driver could be the reason. Have you recently joined a keyboard or usb mouse to your computer? It may have installed an incompatible driver or wrong.

  Start your computer and keep it in the PRE-START-UP phase (enter the BIOS SETUP and wait to see whether this will occure here yet).

  MATERIAL:

  If so, I guess your keyboard film contacts are dirty. You will need to remove the keyboard, open the movie-lock and clean the contacts with alcohol or contact spray. If you are not familiar with this procedure, please consult the technical support.

  Maybe an other old Intel P4 CPU would work, but you will not be able to upgrade and use newer processors.
  Furthermore a stronger CPU would create more heat dissipation and this would lead to a temperature more high which could affect the functionality of the laptop.

  So even if a new CPU would be recognized correctly by the BIOS, it might affect the functionality of the laptop.

  As Akuma has suggested the drivers are located in the area of Archive page of European driver of Toshiba.
  The laptop is an oldie and so the drivers are placed in the archives.
  In the form of product type download choose: Archive and you can find all compatible applications.

  There is not much help. Each card is here or not. Check please the Device Manager and see if the wireless adapter is listed under network adapters.

• Satellite L850 - charger / battery problems, not normal...

  First post and all, I had a glance through to see if I can find my particular problem, and I don't think I can.

  I posted this in another sub-forum, but then realized it's here... oops!

  A L850. It will work fine on battery, but only supplies not the charger cable. Helpfully, a colleague also has an another L850 (I bought two together) so I can charge my battery of separately in his machine.

  If I start the machine on a charged battery, it works fine. If you connect then the power adapter, the led is lit on the front of the machine, but it's clearly not load the machine works until the battery is flat and then turns off and will not turn on back until you charge the battery apart and put it back in.

  Whenever the machine is powered, it also complains that the RTC battery is flat, and you will need to set the time in the BIOS. It is the coin cell CR2032 internally on the motherboard isn't?

  what I don't understand, is that the unit understands clearly that the charger is plugged, as seers to say it is the battery. Except that it isn't, and is not to be unity. Œuvres battery for about 40 minutes of our days, after that, dead machine.

  More information on this type of bit. When it is plugged in, the icon on the screen says "Plugged in, charge", but battery icon animates not charging about 10 seconds, then stops, and battery is clearly not charge as % drops away slowly.

  I found a Google one of them is the "remove all, hold for 30 seconds, reconnect power. This made no difference. I also found advice to uninstall the battery from the device manager driver software and allow it to re - install. This done, still no different.

  I got the hard drive and in a USB enclosure to retrieve all my files and am doing the 'factory restore' option I think that this is a restore hard disk partition. This work is far away, but in my opinion, is still running on battery only, so do not know if this is going to end!

  I have the Satellite A300D-11 q PA3534U-1BRS 4000 mAh battery and 10.8 V.
  The difference in my case is that I bought a new battery, PA3533U-1BRS, 7200 mAh, 10.8V, but a third-party manufacturer.
  Before that, I was told by the official service of Toshiba PA3533U-1BRS is compatible with my computer. Of course, this trusted third party (Brainydeal, a U.S.-based company., but the battery is made in China, by AGPTEK). It was pretty tempting as the price was half that quoted by Toshiba for a 6000 one mAh. And there were 16/16 sides of 5 stars on Amazon for the same battery.

  So, the problem. I had very similar flashing red LED, but nevertheless the battery could be charged and was able to power the laptop for about 2 hours. However, the computer could not get information nor on the level of load (and therefore couldn't not to assess what is the period of hibernation, so was suddenly stopped), voltage, or manufacturer.

  And the model seems to be PA3593U-1BRS depending on the software (Lavalys Everest and also BatteryMon).
  I've had a few matches clumsy with Brainydeal where they assured me that the battery is high quality and all going well, 3593 is compatible with my laptop model.

  Finally, I returned it to the manufacturer for replacement, and yesterday, I received a new. However, the same is happening again.
  Exactly the same thing.

  Before writing back to the manufacturer, I decided to check here for review.
  May be the battery Electronics is a failure?
  Or could it be somehow related to the fact that the computer is purchased the battery - of the USA and Europe? Or I just had very bad luck?

  New battery needs to be calibrated in case to reach full performance.

  To calibrate the battery, you must charge the battery until the battery indicator turn green (or blue). Then disconnect the power adapter and keep the battery discharge until it is completely empty.
  This procedure should be repeated two, three times in the line.

  If the battery charge status would not be changed, even if the battery has been calibrated, you should get in touch with Toshiba authorized service provider to check or replace the battery.
