Satellite A300D-15B webcam does not - black screen

Hi, I would appreciate the help. I have a new L300D-15 ter and we have problems with the webcam. It's less than a week. We use MSN a lot and noticed that sometimes the webcam has become black while on a video call - when I say black you could see us like shadows of contour. Once we waved our hands on the webcam and it seemed to come back to life, but othertimes we had to stop the video call and re - call to retrieve the image of the webcam.

We phoned to Toshiba and reinstalled the driver but it seems to have done worse. When we opened the independent software for the cam us are visible for a second and then black. We tried on MSN it happened once but we could clearly be seen after a few seconds, and he remained on for the duration of our short call. This has happened on and off on the power supply.

Some ideas would be appreciated.

Have you tried looking at its properties?

There are options here, you can activate night mode so you can see yourself when you use your camera.

hope this will help... :)

    Hey Buddy,

What does it mean exactly when you say he won t work?
You get an error message or only a black image? What model of laptop you have and that you use the Toshiba Windows 7 upgrade kit or a disc of Microsoft?

At this moment I can only offers to install latest driver of the webcam of the official website of Toshiba. Make sure that this driver is released for Windows 7 and not Vista.

  • Satellite A300-1NO - webcam does not work, but the LED lights

    Hello!

I have a laptop Satellite A300-1NO, with Win 7 installed. My problem is that my webcam does not work always, when I want to use it. Sometimes, it works perfectly in Skype, WLM etc... but sometimes I see a white or a black screen with a 'loading circle' in there. Blue is the LED light, I can see it in Device Manager too, but there is no picture, just 'loading '. I tried to uninstall the driver and then reinstall it, I installed the new "camera Assistant for Toshiba", without success.

Is there any solution for this?

    > Is there any solution for this?
I put t think there is solution for this. If I understand you right there is a problem with software pre-installed. It is not easy to say why this is happening.

I have Satellite A300 too and use it with Win7 32 bit. Webcam works fine all the time.

One more thing: have you noticed this problem in the first moments after installing Win7 or later?
Have you installed something that may be the reason for this?

    Hello
If Facebook does not recognize your webcam right away when you want to share a video, click on the eye for cameras new button.

Your Adobe Flash Player settings will be displayed.
On the tab, make sure you only select the right type of camera you use with your computer.

On the tab, you may also need to 'allow' Facebook to access your camera and microphone.

If your settings does not work, try to uninstall Adobe Flash Player on your computer and download the latest Flash Player.

So hardware webcam seems to be OK.

    > But now I see my friends, but they cannot see me, even the webcam does not appear on my screen
Have you checked the settings of applications only cat?
    Recommend doing this.

Also, the webcam software is preinstalled on your laptop and you could test the functionality by using this software of the webcam.
Usually, this should be available somewhere in all programs-> Toshiba

  • Satellite C50D does not (black screen)

    Hello

I have a problem with a Satellite C50D-A-133 which does not (rest on the black screen).
I tried the reset procedure and I replaced the RAM without success.

    Has anyone had this problem?

    Thank you in advance.

PS: for information, if someone reads Toshiba does not have this message, the french support site (redirects to the homepage when you enter the serial number or by selecting the model in the list).

By reset procedure do you mean remove the battery and by pressing and holding the long power 30 dry?
It is the common procedure in case the laptop doesn't wake up no more.
But of course this will help in case of a hardware problem.

It would also be possible that corrupted BIOS CMOS data prevents the machine to start. This can happen in case of module of the BIOS EPROM, but this should be verified by the authorized service provider

As you can see, it's really not very easy to say what could be wrong here

  • Re: Satellite A300D - S-Video does not work

    Hello

I got my Satellite A300D for a little while now and he likes most aspects of it. The only thing that I'm not a big fan of, is that my S-Video works at all.

I tried FN + F5, and when I do that it doesn't do anything. When I return to FN + F5 to check if it happened, it's back to the LCD screen. I tried all the functions FN + F5, and I also tried "to connect to the external monitor" through the control panel option. I also tried restarting the laptop, turn it off, start it back up, install a driver catalyst mod, everything I could think of, but it's not going to work.

Any help would be * EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY appreciated! *

    Please help, thanks!

    Hi guys

The use of the s-video ports is very easy.
First of all that the TV and the laptop must be turned off.
Then you have to connect both devices with an s-video cable compatible.

Note: The BIOS, please check if the right settings were selected. PAL for Europe; NTSC for North America.

Also, make sure that you use the s-video cable to the right. With the help of cable is not compatible with the allocation of the wrong pins will create a black and white picture on TV!

  • Satellite L850 - HD Webcam does not work

Hi, I tried to get my webcam to work, but apparently not, I had a glance online but does not, so you are my last chance before you give up and buy an external one to send back to you. I'll try to give you as much information as possible.

I've had this laptop since 21 August, I bought from PC World. It's a L850 Satellite with Windows 7 64-bit

Initially, the webcam has functioned well, everything was great and I thought it was great.

Then all of a sudden a few weeks, he just stopped. I had a small notification in the bottom left of my screen that says "USB device not recognized", Uh oh. Whenever I try to use my laptop says that it has one. For a few weeks, the camera would be ok, and then not ok, that would change. Sometimes I could use it, other times I just couldn't.

I had a look in Device Manager, and there was no mention of "Imaging devices" as it was before. But there is an 'unknown device' in the 'Bus USB controllers' falling down, with a yellow sign above it.

Here's what I've tried so far:

Drivers - I have followed the advice of a forum and downloaded the latest apparent Webcam driver for Windows 7 64 bit. Excerpt on my desktop and ran the .exe. After pressing the Start button, it loads and asks if I am sure I want the program to make changes to my computer. I press Yes, but then nothing apparent happens. I expected a "drivers installed correctly" or something, but nothing happened, and the problem does not go far. I don't know if it was supposed to be anything, but eh. I downloaded a program called DevManView which allowed me to see all the features that were already on the laptop. My "Toshiba Web Camera - HD" was among them, so I took a peek at the properties. He said "disabled: no, connected: No. I came to the conclusion that it is connected, but for some reason my laptop any works just simply can not what it is.." Is there something I can do?

BIOS - in the BIOS, the webcam is enabled.

System Restore - is went to when the Webcam would have worked, but nothing helps, no change.

Changes/webcam system changes that may have caused the problem:

I have used what we call Fake Webcam, so I could replay videos more at my cousins through Skype, I uninstalled since all this. I've never used the webcam normally when I'm fake webcam, but then when I tried, it wouldn't work, so when I uninstalled Fake Webcam, he stated that no camera has been detected.

I am at my wits end, I really want this thing to work, any suggestions?

Best thing for you would be to make ultimate check and reinstall the recovery image and test the functionality with the factory settings. I know that this is a more radical method, but after doing this, you will see if the cam is recognized and registered properly or not.

If the problem starts to be present again, I think there may be a hardware problem.
What do you think of all this?

  • Re: Satellite u305-s5097 webcam does not

    Hello

I'm trying to get my integrated webcam to work but it doesn't. Sometimes, his works but its random. I restart the laptop and it sometimes work but not every time.
The laptop is a toshiba satellite u305-s5097 and it has windows vista Home premium.

I installed the fix. I downloaded here: http://hotfixv4.microsoft.com/Windows%20Vista/sp1/Fix198579/6000/free/305604_intl_i386_zip.exe

I installed the patch and restart and it still does not work with msn or other programs. What else can I do to solve the problem?
What drivers? What kind of camera is it and where can I find them? If the drivers do not work what can I do?

Thanks in advance for the help

Download driver Chicony Webcam update: v1.7.175.0123 on the Toshiba site
Install Vista Service Pack 1 or the 934374 patch: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934374
Update of MSN and your other software based on the webcam

  • On Satellite A300-1MX webcam does not work properly

After my windows Vista system crashed 16 December 2011, I had made recovery.
After that, I have not found any driver for the webcam on the computer laptop everything. On the Toshiba support page, I finally found the 1.7 version, but this does not at all!

He always appears: driver Webcam open fails, restart the computer or the camera. Since it's built in camera I tried with the restart of the computer, but which did not help at all. So I tried with the option to repair the driver with Install Shield Wizard. The program has done something, but without success.

So I uninstalled and reinstalled and it did not help at all!

    Someone has an idea?

    Hello

Found an article in the knowledge base of Toshiba which describes this error and provides a solution to this problem.
+ Why displays the error message: "Webcam driver open fail. Restart the computer or the camera. » ? +
    + http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/OPT84026F0000R01.htm+

But its related to Portege M600 and Satellite U300 only.
However, you should also try to perform a BIOS update. After that, set the BIOS to default settings and save the changes. Then try to reinstall the software of webcam once more.

You should also check the Device Manager. Here in Device Manager that the webcam should be recognized as a USB device, if this isn't the case, then it means that the webcam was not recognized by the OS and that means there could be a hardware problem

As far as I know, the webcam is connected to the USB controller on the motherboard. If the cable connection is lost, then the webcam is not recognized in Device Manager; or as a USB device or an unknown device.

  • Satellite L850-150: Webcam does not work

    Hello world!

First of all, sorry for my English not good enough. I'm from the Spain and I bought a laptop Satellite L850-150 less last year.

The problem is that I have not tried the webcam so far, and when I did, it does not work!
When I used the webcam application, it is said: "it is impossible to start the webcam. Check the camera and restart the application or computer.

I reinstalled the driver for the webcam, but it does not work still... you have any idea or solution? Thank you

    Hello

What is the status of the webcam in Device Manager?
    Webcam is properly recognized?

The webcam can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS.
That's why I recommend you to check the BIOS settings.
    BIOS-> Advanced-> Configuration-> webcam system

If his permit and if the webcam is properly recognized in Device Manager, I think that you must uninstall webcam once more.
Then you must clean the registry using some tools like e.g. CCLeaner. It is a freeware software. By using this software you can remove some temporal files and can repair and clean the system registry.

After this short cleaning procedure, restart the computer again, download the latest webcam software of the Toshiba page and install again. Reboot once more and then try to stars of the webcam.
