Satellite A305-S6825 - HARD drive light flashing sometimes

I have the Toshiba Satellite A305-S6825, I bought in April. 250 GB and 3 GB of Ram.

I notiice sometimes, when I'm not working on what the hard drive light flashes for a while. Is this normal?

I have not checked all programs (I think) to a setting with automatic and/or scanning, etc.

Are there any programs that are running in Vista Premium without me using the working on the laptop?

I hope that the laptop is not broken.

Alice
U.S..

The laptop is certainly not broken. The same thing happens with my two laptops from Toshiba.
In the background, several processes are active and it is possible that antivirus checks or scans the HARD drive.
Maybe some updates are installed at the moment. It can be anything.

In any case, don't worry about it. Everything is OK.

  • Hard drive light flashing.

I know this has been asked before, but I do not see a satisfactory answer.

I just installed Win 7 HP 64 bit on a new desktop. Once the system has been installed, the HARD drive light flashes at a constant speed of approximately 1 second.

I checked the Task Manager and note that one solution wbengine.exe, offered in the past, does NOT work.

However, I notice that the blink rate is about the same performance update in the Task Manager.

Someone at - it a solution?

  • No HARD drive light on Qosmio X 870

    Hi all

I m coming on this forum to post something that has my curiosity because I bought my Qosmio X 870, 3 years ago...
This series has no HARD drive light and I wonder why...
I mean, it looks like "slikier" without light... But this HDD light is very useful in my opinion, it gives me a reading how my HARD drive works when my computer oar, allowing me to solve some problems and simply check the health of my laptop computer in general. I have to put my ear on the side of the HARD drive and listen to it if it is working or not, boring.

Why is it like that? Is this just for the style?
    Thank you.

We can discuss here everything, but no one here can tell you why this model Qosmio no HDD LED. Always new and new design I think. My S50 - B Satellite has not too much.

To be honest, it is very useful to have, but I don't miss it at all.

  • Is it safe to remove a USB hard drive or flash drive when my PC is suspended?

Suppose that I used my USB hard drive or flash drive.  Now suppose the PC goes to sleep or I deliberately suspended (after which the green light on my hard drive turns off).  Is it now OK to disconnect the device from the USB connection?  Or I have to wake up the PC and go through the procedure of "eject" explicit to remove safely?  You can assume that no files don't care don't is open for output on the disk when the suspension occurs.  (I can't represent some of the things that the OS can be done on a regular basis.)  I could in theory (and unintentionally) open a file media for playback and made a break at a time where the OS hangs.

(I always assumed that, when you go to sleep, the BONE empty buffers and otherwise puts files in safe States, as it would have on explicit 'eject'.)  However, my research on this issue have never turned up an explicit answer, so I've always played it safe.  However, the scenario I describe is common for me, and it would be more convenient if the suspension is that it is safe.  It's a HTPC across the room, so suspend and then unplug is much easier that awaken (possibly), eject, get up, disconnect, go back, suspend and finally go away.  I wonder whenever I'm doing it the "hard".  "I want to know.)

I doubt that the answer depends on the OS; but, if so, please say how it may be different, that I also have a desktop XP machine.

No, put the computer to sleep does not these "flush" or "eject" actions. Files that are open and active are both suspended - that is, to remove all media while the computer sleeps is a risky operation.  You can, for example, to sleep or hibernate a computer in the middle of a software installation, it is clear at this point are activities that could cause more read/write operations once the computer wakes.

  • Satellite A305-S6825: battery

I have the Toshiba Satellite A305-S6825 and turned on after using it not for about a week. I noticed that the battery has been listed as full of 60%. Is this normal? I thought since I don't use it, it would be about 95%.

I'm in the USA, however, cannot see a Forum of Toshiba UK. Is there a Forum of Toshiba USA?

    Thank you.

This is normal and it should be mentioned in the user manual.
I ve got a pre-installed manual user on my laptop and there is a complete description.

    > (By the way, is there not a possible way to send and its application by email to Toshiba?) "It is very difficult to follow and understand their Web site contact information, etc.).
By the way; If you have any questions about your hardware specifications, then it s always advisable to contact a technician of portable ASP in your country.

I'm from Russia and I recently bought a portable Satellite A305-S6825 my friend in the United States (and is not on sale in Russia yet).
Everything is OK except one thing - I can not connect Bluetooth to a mouse wireless (of course active and put just nearby).
I went on Bluetooth in "Bluetooth settings" but whenever I press the button "Add a new connection..." I see the following statement appears on
the display "BLUETOOTH IS NOT READY." But how to make it "ready"?

    This problem really intrigues me.

  • How to use Ready Boost, and what are the requirements for the use of portable hard drives and flash drives for use with Ready Boost?

I have Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate Edition and try to get Ready Boost to work on my PC using portable hard drives or flash drives. I have 2 portable hard drives (iomega 120gig, Seagate 250gig) and a 8gig sandisk cruzer flash drive. All this deterioration when you try to use the ready boost said that these discs only are not compatible or not supported. So what do I need?

Not all readers will work with ReadyBoost. There are some readers who actually will specify that they are capable of ReadyBoost.

    By WikiPedia:

    • The device should have an access time of 1ms or less.
    • The device must be capable of 2.5 MB/s for 4 KB random read speeds indicates the spread uniformly across the entire device and 1.75 MB/s write for 512 speed random writes spread uniformly across the device.

You must also put the device and let it plugged in for ReadyBoost. ReadyBoost is therefore best suited for a small thumbdrive (up to 4 GB) that greater thumbdrive or external HD that you would probably be disconnect from time to time.

Open solutions Explorer window, find your Cruzer - right-click on it and click Properties. If there is a ReadyBoost tab, you can set up - set it to dedicate this device to ReadyBoost. It will be implemented and save a file on the USB key. Click Apply and're you good to go.

A caveat which I can testify first-hand. Apparently while booting, Win 7 has trouble with some USB key - it will search the thumbdrive, the operating system, the process of starting to stall and you say: ' Missing Operating System ' - Fortunately the solution is very easy. Shut down the computer, remove the USB key, restart the computer and it will start normally. I had this happen with a 8 GB Cruzer. This seems to be a random thing, because I had the Cruzer plugged in and booted several times without encountering the error of missing operating system message. No idea why or why it is injury. Currently, I use a Kodak USB 2 gig key that seems to work very well.

  • Satellite A300-1IW: HARD drive access light blinks every second

Hello everyone, and sorry for the English, I'm french :)

I bought a Satellite A300-1IW a few days and suddenly (don't remember exactly when) early light access HARD drive blinks every second and it continues even after several reboots!

It does so only with Vista; I checked the disk with 'diskmon' activity and I saw that even if it was * no. * disk * written * or * reading * the led continues flashing, so I think that it is not bound to certain services of vista (superfetch, indexing...)

A similar problem, I saw on a Microsoft support, but it was under windows 98 and with old motherborads!
    See: link: [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/138598]

So it seems that it is related to level Vista SCSI or DVD...

I have now is not critical, but it's annoying to have this led flashes all the time

You have an idea? Don't you think that it could be related to bios? I want to be sure before touching it, because it is always tricky.

    Thanks for your help

In my opinion, nobody can offer no comment because you already gave the answer. There is nothing unusual and certainly no reason to panic.

What do about it? What you want to do? Sorry, but this is a really stupid question. I can just offer you a stupid answer. ;) Take black tape and curl up the LED. ;)

  • On Satellite Pro A10 HARD drive replacement

    Hi all

Ive currently got my moms Satellite Pro A10 sitting in front of me. Wouldn't load XP at all so I downloaded Knoppix and ran the liveCD on the laptop. After some tests, it seems that the HARD drive has failed.

    The vehicle currently has a 30GB HDD (MK3021GAS HDD2182 B ZE01 T) with a rated output DC + 5V 0. 7A.

Told me that any HARD drive would work so I ordered a replacement of 100 GB of Fuji, except its a little too long to drive HARD case and it seems to be the cause of my power light flashes orange. Rated power on it is + 5V 0.55 a.

Im stuck, what do I do?

    Hello

    > told me that any HARD drive would work as well
It is not quite correct! There are material limitations.

I discovered that the phone supports 20 GB; 30 GB; 40 GB and possibly a 60 GB HARD drive.
I m not 100% sure of more HARD drive sizes due to the limitation of the BIOS.
You should know that not all HARD drive sizes are recognized by the BIOS.

Further, you should take a look at the supported interface.
The laptop supports an Enhanced IDE (ATA-5) interface and that's why you should buy a HARD drive that require this kind of hardware specification.

  • Satellite L650 - 15G - HARD drive starts after 10 to 15 seconds

    Hi my dear,
    Please can someone help,

I have my Satellite L650 - 15G, I bought 10/01/2010. I have a problem that occurs only with the battery, when I press the power button, I hear the fan starting, lamp wireless, then the lamp light power but not the lamp of HDD, 2 to 3 seconds the laptop closed. If I pressed the power button / stop again after that or I pressed again while the light from the lamp of the hard drive and it will start normally. This never happen when I connect the charger with the battery or when I use it with the adapter only.

I changed the battery of the Toshiba, but no way. I changed the power management, made adjustments in power management bios (version 1.8 after I updated), disable, enable certain features in Device Manager but no way.

The more strange that many times it starts normal and other times it does so. Also, this may manifest itself sometimes in long boot times, which means that I sometimes hear fan, see wirless, power lights up and after 10-15 seconds, the hard drive turns on and starts.
    Please help me

I went to the warranty Center Toshiba in Cairo and they checed on Tester then nothing said abnorml with processor, hard, Rams

    Hello

And that said the guys from the Toshiba warranty Center that could be? Is it a hardware problem or not?

To be honest it is really hard to say something about it, but at the moment for me, it looks like a HARD drive or motherboard problem.

Did you also load default settings in the BIOS after update?

  • Satellite A215-s4697 - HARD drive round and round

    I have a Satellite A215-s4697. AMD Turion 54 x 2 Dual Core technology tl-52 with 1 GB of ram.
    Windows Vista Edition Home Premium.

The hard drive on this thing just turns and turns and that the computer is slow.
Im making here mail web (IE is the only thing that I opened) and it runs without interruption.
Sometimes the computer crashes then releases sometimes it says: "Windows Explorer has stopped working" and I restart.

When I plug it to the tv to watch a show off hulu.com, for example, the player can run for 10 minutes before Detroit back work.
However, then it works. That's so slow that it's frustrating.

    Any ideas.

I tried the improve performance including removal of old programs, clean disc of deleted files and installers, ect.

    Thank you.

    Hi Seahunt,

First of all, you must back up all data on the HARD drive. If the disk HARD still turns upward it sounds like this it becomes defective and must be replaced don t store on important data

You can get a new HDD to a service provider authorized or an another computer store. As much as I now you need a HARD drive with SATA interface.

  • Satellite L500-246 - HARD drive not found in BIOS

    Good afternoon

My problem is that I have a Toshiba L500 - 246 to oblivion, put a password on Windows 7 and now, don't remember.

I decided to start over and delete the entire computer. I clean the fan, I put thermal paste to the processor and the graphics card and decided to delete all partitions and create one.
Want to boot from the DVD, I went into the BIOS to change the BOOT boot, and on the first screen, I get the following message: "HDD / SSD not installed '." I changed the settings in BIOS, but still the same.

When I enter the Windows 7 DVD, you read me well until the window that says he needs the control disk, and in this window, I don't see any disk. I tried with two SATA drives, and I get the same message.

Put his ear on the hard disk drive to start the laptop computer is the sound characteristic of light, but still do not leave anything in the BIOS.

Now, enter in the browser to find the driver, I get the following:

A X startup disk: 30 MB of capacity

The USB flash drive appears as drive me C:

And finally, I get the CD in D drive:

    Why could this be?
Why do I get the USB as a C drive?

    Thanks and greetings

    Your ad is really confusing.

First, it would be useful to know if the SSD or HARD disk drive is listed in the BIOS (BIOS first page)
If his list, the HARD drive is OK and follow along you with the installation of the system
If it is NOT listed, you need to replace the HARD drive

Lets assume, the HARD drive is OK and you have started the installation.
During the installation of Windows, you will be asked to add the SATA controller.

You will find on the page of the Toshiba UE driver the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver
This driver contains the SATA files that you add during the installation of Windows.

    Hope this helps
