I have a new laptop as described above.
I received it as part of an insurance claim.

I tried using the recovery of product, pressing f12 annoys me in the multiboot screen, with the options disk hard, cd/dvd, floppy etc. but my keyboard does not allow me to go upwards or downwards or press 2.

    Hello

Regarding the description of your problem, you are not able to boot into the Windows operating system. The laptop hangs on the XP screen and starts the operating system. Am I wrong?

Have you tried to access the BIOS?
The laptop must support a Phoenix BIOS, and so you should try to press F2 to access the BIOS. He tries to change the boot order and try recovery of notebooks OS since the Toshiba Recovery CD.

Try reinstalling the operating system. If it does not work, you should contact the ASP for the control of the laptop. As you say, it is a new laptop and everything should work fine.
The guarantee must cover all checks and replacements of equipment.

    Good luck

  • TM2 - Win7 hangs at the splash screen after waking from sleep and hibernation

I had intermittent problems with the mode 'sleep' on my laptop TM2T-2200 (Windows7 64-bit).  Wake up sleep & put into hibernation, the system will have problems with log-in intermittently.  Generally speaking, I'll be able to move my mouse cursor and enter my password - but pressing enter, the system hangs at the splash screen, requiring a hard - reboot (by pressing the power button).  Sometimes, I've not yet will be able to enter my password before it crashes.

The problem seems to occur more in energy saving mode, but it occurred in '' HP recommended Mode '' once or twice now, too.  It looks a lot like the problems reported for other models HP here:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-lockups-freezes-hangs/Pavilion-DM4-freezes-when-idle-and-after...

Any suggestions?  Is it possible to know if a particular driver or a program that hangs?

Update: my problems seem to be associated with protection against malware of Comcast constant guard and disappeared after uninstalling the program.

  • Windows XP hangs at the splash screen (logo). Dim screen when hooked.

I do have problems starting XP 2 on two different hard drives.  I'm more concerned at this time is described in the title.  I bought a new hard drive (Western Digital Caviar Blue WD3200AAKS 320) to back up the data on my old hard drive, due to the other XP startup problem and installed Windows XP Home edition, as well as my motherboard drivers, etc..  It starts very well, at first, but then started a curtain to the start screen (and the splash screen is very low in this case).  I tried to remove some additional applications provided with the motherboard, no luck.  I tried to reinstall XP several times, and who has not helped.  I tried to update my video driver, running chkdsk, running Windows Memory Diagnostic (which does no problem), cleaning the registry with Advanced System Care Pro, unplug all USB devices and network cable, etc.  He continues to hang at the splash screen (weakly).  When I try to start in safe mode, it hangs at "mup.sys.  So far, I'm able to get XP to start by repeated restart later...  I searched the web to find a solution for this and have found no definitive answer.  I just ordered another new hard drive and Windows 7.  I intend to dual boot with windows 7 the new HD and XP on the current disc (assuming that this problem can be solved!).

My other problem is on my old sister Hitachi 160 GB IDE hard drive.  A few months, our PC stop working.  After buying a new power supply (Corsair TX650w) and determine that he was not a power supply problem, I bought a new motherboard (GA-MA785GT-UD3H), (AMD Phenom II X 2 555 3.2 Ghz) CPU, RAM (CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4 GB (2 x 2 GB) 240 - Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333), and some new fans (old system died due to heat issues).  Once I had it put in place and I tried to boot XP from my old drive, he just went in a "boot loop".  He gets to the XP splash screen, goes black and restarts, again and again.  I tried setting the installation of XP with XP CD 3 or 4 times, without success.  This question is not as big of a deal to me now, because I now have the new hard drive with the new number to start XP (intermittent).  My main goal with the old hard drive was to save all my data.  That is, life turns on if I can't start XP on this drive (the one with the boot loop).

    Thank you for your time!

The BIOS update has * seems * solved the problem!  I rebooted it 4 or 5 times, but also completely off the PC and it starts today.  Did not repeat the problem so far!

  • Debug build hangs at the splash screen after Update Beta 4

Since the update of the fall of November, debug builds Dev Alpha hang at the splash screen.

By release notes, on the basis of known issues:

"AIR debugger cannot display the IP host dialog box when a debugging session is initiated. This can cause applications to hang at the splash screen and fail to launch. (240219, 242986) »

A workaround solution is given for people running Flash Builder, where you explicitly give the Debug IP address host instead

in relying on the auto-discovery.  I use the command line flow (don't have Flash Builder), and my debug builds that were operating out of now drop from September to the start screen. -DebugHost 169.254.0.2, I added to my blackberry-airpackager command and the debug builds always hang.  Release builds signed with my symbolic debugging normally launch, as they did before the update to the decline in November.

For people who use Flash Builder and who know how to look under the hood and find the blackberry-airpackager command that distributes when you do a debug version: to debug this launch is built successfully

on a Dev Alpha with the November update, can you please put the blackberry-airpackager command line which

    Flash Builder is running?

Got a reply from them and they confirmed that the dialogue will be back. Let's make it a part of our test cases in the future.

    See you soon,.

  • Windows XP hangs at the splash screen, safe mode does not work either

I've updated my laptop with a windows update and when I went to restart, it crashes just in the start screen.  I tried in safe mode hanging at MUP. SYS and I tried the last known configuration.  So far these options do not work.  I tried Memtest, HDAT2, Ultimate Boot CD tests, chkdsk/p and chkdsk/r, Windows XP, CD recovery and rebuild, tried to start up with each opening of USB port and even tried formatting and installing Windows XP Pro SP2 and Windows XP Home Edition SP1.  So far I have always in step 1, where nothing has solved nothing.

I noticed that there is a thread here where a person has had the same problem and he said that it has updated its BIOS.  For hours, now I did research on how update my BIOS by creating a bootable disc...  I'm thumbs on a mile it looks. Here is a link to the thread with the person who had the same problem. http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/XPRepair/thread/2b3f344c-F923-4D84-868d-c0be603e601b

I've been on the forums of Toms Hardware for more than a week with a little support, but so far, nothing has worked. http://www.TomsHardware.com/Forum/253683-45-wont-load-hangs-splash-screen#t916360

I could use any help we can on it.  It would be deeply appreciated!  My email is * address email is removed from the privacy *.

Well I tried to Win 7 on a bootable disc.  I followed a bunch of instructions I found on youtube.com, but for some reason that I could not burn to disc.  Kept getting an error even if I followed every perfect step.

In any case, I watched my CMOS on compensation, but the battery is soldered on.  I just messed with it a little bit to see if it was lost or anything thing but I didn't rip out and one other solder on because I have never done this before.  So I put everything back together, turned on my laptop and it finally starts up the Windows installation screen.  FINALLY!  Thanks for everyone's help and patience.  I guess the battery has lost... but not quite sure.  I left the laptop off for about 4-5 days before I tried to play with the CMOS this morning.

Daavee, thanks for your help on this.  I learned all troubleshooting and making the ISO.  Have a good Christmas!

  • Satellite L640 hangs at the splash screen

    Hi all

I have a L640 / 01 H that I bought earlier this year. In addition to the original Windows 7 OS, I installed a Linux system on a separate partition.

Earlier today, I was using Linux (which is what I normally use) and everything was really slow.
    Finally I force-shut-down, power button.

Now, I noticed a problem with the BIOS on this laptop - if I try to start when there is a USB flash drive is connected, the splash screen just hangs. Today when I rebooted I realized that I had left a flash drive, then I got out and I tried to start it again, a couple of times. Whenever the computer crashes just indefinitely on the startup splash screen.

Finally I gave him enough time and it takes the selection of Linux boot menu, so I tried to start my usual kernel but he gave me some message about a bad MBR.
I kept trying to start, but the boot process is stuck, what happens is as follows:

    * The three lights on the left (power, battery and light) come on, no problem
    * HARD drive flashes white for a few seconds, then turns off. Occasionally, it will blink again.
    * At the same time, the screen is just stuck on the startup splash screen. If I try to press f2, f12 or any key too many times it will start emitting beeps whenever I press it. There is no way to get into the BIOS settings.

Also, I can't boot from CD (Windows recovery CD or Linux LiveCD). Finally some kind of time-out of the entry into force, and the computer restarts itself to start the process all. Yay!

I tried the stuff "unplug the power cord, remove the battery, hold down the power button / stop, plug back in, try to start" but nothing has changed. I also tried switching memory locations (only one chip of RAM, so I can't try a process of elimination on the RAM).
Finally, I also open the door to HARD disk and removed the HARD drive, then tried to start. This time the BIOS has answered, if only to tell me that there is no appropriate boot media. At this point, the BIOS was responsive and I could change settings in there, but I could not boot from the CD.

I thought I'd try resetting the CMOS battery, but I'm worried I'll damage something / make the problem worse. Someone at - it ideas? I know that the thing is still under warranty, but service centres are often slow and I don't want to lose the data from the hard drive.

Any help would be really appreciated.

It could be a problem with the CD/DVD drive what you think of this idea?
Perhaps the BIOS does not recognize the CD/DVD drive properly and so there is a problem starting the bootable disc.

In addition, it might be possible that failures of HARD drive and, therefore, you received an error message about the MBR (master boot record).

Remove the CD/DVD drive and try to install the Windows booting from a USB flash drive.

    _Regarding the battery CMOS: _
I would not recommend to disassemble the laptop because you could damage other parts and in addition it should know that the CMOS battery is not removable it s soldered to the motherboard

  • Install Windows recovery disk 8 in virtualbox hangs on the splash screen

    Hello Lenovo community,

When I try to install the copy of Windows 8 I got with my Lenovo S440 in a virtual machine environment

the installation hangs on windows startup screen. I've never seen a Windows 8 installation

procedure before, so I booted my laptop from the installation media to check if it is corrupted.

It works very well. A loading circle dot is displayed the logo after a few seconds and that after quiet

some time the wizard of lenovo is shown... so there must be a problem with the virtual machine.

I have attached a screenshot to show you where it crashes.

It would be great help ! Thanks in advance!

    Hello

I think that reinstall drive wouldn't work on a virtualized machine, only directly on the Lenovo hardware, in order to prevent the copy of Windows, more whatever additional licensed software is on the media, to be pirated.

My best advice would be to insert a blank HARD drive in Lenovo ThinkPad S440, use the recovery media, produce an installation complete on the HARD drive and then run a program to convert the HARD physical disk to a virtual machine, as Microsoft Sysinternals Disk2VHD.

  • CC will not open - hangs at the splash screen

Had a problem with my video card where he died so I went back to the use of the onboard video. First Pro CC will not open at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times. All my other CC Adobe software works without problem and the integrated video card has the last update directly from the manufacturer's Web site. When I try to open Premiere Pro the splash screen appears, starts to load, then a Windows error box pops up saying that the program has unexpectedly, he's looking for a solution, says that there is not and the only option is to close.

Thanks I actually just found the answer on my own - it worked for me: first cc pro trial hangs

  • T43 - hangs on the splash screen

    Hi all

I have a G 45-2668 Thinkpad T43 that simply no longer starts. This laptop was not started or loaded for a long time before I got to it. Warranty is exhausted just 1.5 months ago.

    Description:

-By pressing the results of power on button to start the laptop. Start screen appears and nothing else happens.

-No reaction if I press the "Access IBM" or F1 button at all. I can not enter in BIOS or any other reaction (no beeps, no error message, no num lock light switch).

    Turns hard disk, CD-ROM prepares.

    What I tried so far:

-Remove battery and AC-cable, press the power button 10 times for a longer time. Then I plugged the AC cable and pushed F1 during the market. I sometimes start menu. But only rarely. And if I'm here, once again no reaction on the key pressing.

-J' opened the laptop, if there is no visible problem. It does not exist. After the opening and closing, I could pass once the BIOS, but there was no reaction to pressing any key. So I could not reset the BIOS of some default state.

-Portable computers will beep but if I remove the card memory.

    What can I do now?

    Please help me.

    Best regards

  • After Installation of Windows 7, it hangs at the splash screen

Original title: could not get windows 7 or Home server to install

There is a computer on which he worked.  Put in a new drive, because I wanted to reuse it as a home server.

Now, it will not install, tried Windows Home server and Windows 7, they all have two freeze at the same place.

    They both

    1. boot
    2. load files
    3. and then freeze to the windows splash screen.

    All of the suggestions.

    Thank you

    Jeff

    Hello Jeff_Myers,

    Thank you for the question!

It is disheartening to know that have problems you with Windows 7. As I understand it the computer crashes at start Windows after the Installation of Windows 7.

    Method 1:

Disconnect or disable any external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) drives, sound card and graphics card etc.) except the mouse and keyboard and then boot\start the computer.

If this solves the problem, then add back devices at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue.

Method 2: Perform the Windows 7 installation disc Startup Repair by using the Windows recovery environment.

What are the system recovery options in Windows 7?

Answer to us if you are having problems with Windows 7 or any other issue of Windows, and I'd be happy to help you again and try to correct the problem as soon as possible.

    Good day!

    Hope this information helps.

  • Upgrade to Indesign CC 2015.5 - does not open and hangs on the splash screen

I upgraded to CC 2015.5 2015.  After you have installed indesign, it allowed me to open the program once.  After closing the program, any attempt to reopen causes an error pop up during the splash screen that says "Adobe InDesign CC 2015 has stopped working" and leaves the program.  I uninstalled / reinstalled two times with the same results.  Other 2015,5 improvements seem to be fine, only the Indesign program is having issues.  Any advice would be much appreciated on how to fix or revert to the previous version that worked.

    Hi all

We are aware of the problem where InDesign crashes on launch while working with library files stored on a network location.

We are working on resolving the issue and for the moment, please try the solution that we have identified.

To work around the problem, please follow the steps below:

Clear the Cache InDesign either by renaming the Cache folder or deleting it altogether. (It is best to rename the folder)

The location of the cache folder: -.

    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\Settings\Application Data\Adobe\InDesign\------\Caches\

    Windows 7 or 10: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\-\Caches\

    Macintosh: Drive hard/users/InDesign/Library/Caches/Adobe///.

In addition, if your workflow requires you to work with the (different) library placed on the network, please make sure you close the library panel before leaving InDesign.

  • Adobe Illustrator CC hangs on the splash screen

    Hello

I couldn't find a similar thread with similar solutions, then we are, about 2 months ago, my Adobe Illustrator CC stopped opening. It starts up and displays the splash screen but then stops everything in "Reading Fonts" (see image below)

I had not changed anything or downloaded everything I know and I thought it would start working again, but alas.

    I have a MacBook Pro (15 inch, late 2011) race Yosemite 10.10.1

Things I've tried so far the problem:
    Uninstalled / reinstalled twice.

Restarted my computer a million times.

Cleared cache folders according to other suggestions from forums.

Reset the system fonts and remove all the fonts in the system (by font book, if there is another way to solve the question police please let me know)

Please help if you can, I'm at a total loss.

    Thank you.

It is stuck on the screen:

    Alice,

Point 1) and 11) less than 5 years) in the following list may be appropriate (I'm not sure if FontBook serves you well) and 6 complete), too.

The following is a general list of things, try when the question is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media. You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically preferences might be corrupt); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

    (1) close Illy and open again.

    (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

    (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

    4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Illustrator/KB/preference-file-location-Illustrator.html

    5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

    Even worse, you can:

    (6) (check the box to delete the preferences), run the cleanup tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC) to uninstall and reinstall.

I had installed CS4 and works well under Vista Ultimate 64. The machine is Intex dual Zeon @2 4 strands, 5 GHz, 8 GB of RAM. Graphics card is ATI Radeon 4800 1 GB of RAM.

I uninstalled CS4 and upgraded the computer to Win 7 Ult 64.eu the upgrade went well and the software still works as usual - except CS4!

I now have problems with various components.

AFX hangs at "Then of initialization of basic Media"

    ME hangs to "Load ExporterAVI.prm"

Premiere Pro hangs at "Loading ExporterAVI.prm"

    Soundbooth hangs at "Loading ExporterAVI.prm"

On location, Illustrator and Photoshop all opened OK.

I had Boris BCC 7 installed but have uninstalled, then uninstalled and reinstalled CS4.

    I have QuickTime installed 7.7.1.

I would be very grateful for your suggestions!

    Thanks in advance,

    Alex House

Problem is now solved. The system Vista had a calibrator color Spyder that was stored (reasonably) of color on the system profiles. I deleted the profiles stored, reinstalled CS4 and all now works properly.
