Satellite A50-11: spilled water on the keyboard

I spilled water on my keyboard while I was working with my laptop. I immediately turned on and tried to dry it. It has been 4 days but I can't still turns on. The LED flashes orange, and I read in the manual that it means that there is a change of the voltage of my laptop.

I'm recently in Germany/Stuttgart and called the center of service/support of the Germany million times, but I waited on hold for hours: S I need my documents and I want to save my laptop. What should I do? Immediate responses are expected.

Hi Elif,

Sorry to hear about your mishap with your laptop. Fortunately, if it wasn't water that you spilled on your laptop then it will eventually dry out and the unit should suffer no lasting damage. I would recommend that you remove the battery and AC power and turn the computer laptop (with the lid open) in a warm and dry (for example a distribution Cabinet) to allow residual moisture to evaporate completely before attempting to turn it on again. Note that this may take several days depending on just how the water mucj was reversed and how she managed to seep into the device.

It is also possible that the water shorted out some of the internal electronics of your laptop before you managed to turn off, if the drying technique above does not work then you may need to unit control/repair by an ASP. Fortunately, it is likely that you hard disk (and, therefore, your data) will be damaged by this incident.

Kind regards

  • spilled water on the keyboard, the keys do not work Ideapad Z500

    Hello

A few hours ago I accidentally spilled water on the keyboard of my Lenovo Z500 Touch. The PC was only going to batteries, not connected with the adapter. I cleaned the water immediately. I turned it off, only it works a few times to see if everything was ok. Now (about 6 hours of the accident) most of the keys on the keyboard do not work. I turned the pc upside, hope it's just the water left in the keys, and now I'm waiting for the water to dry.

  • Satellite P205 - hit ANY key on the keyboard opens the default browser

Very strange problem with our Toshiba Satellite P205.
Hit ANY key on the keyboard opens the default browser. For example, type a ten letter word ten browser windows opens. We have replaced the keyboard but the problem persists. Toshiba repair center suggested replacing the motherboard at $500 (which isn't on the cost of a new cell phone?).

Works very well without any problem using an external keyboard.
It came with Vista, but we installed XP with the same results. Also tried upgrading the Bios.

    * Water was spilled on this computer laptop previously.*
    * It is out of EMCO.*

Is there maybe a registry tweak that can block the default browser to open this way?
Anyone has any ideas on this one?

There is a 'hard' switch just above the keyboard that opens the browser. I guess the connectors or printed circuits are corroded or damaged somehow so that any input on the keyboard also triggers this hard switch.

Possibly a hack software to disable or block the button "Open browser" would solve the problem. How to turn off or reassign these hard buttons?

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

    > Toshiba repair center suggested replacing the motherboard at $500 (which isn't on the cost of a new cell phone?).
Looks like you need to replace the motherboard if you do not want to use the computer's internal keyboard correctly
You said that the water was reversed on this laptop previously, I think that's the reason why this keyboard problem happened

    > Is it may be a registry tweak that can block the default browser to open this way?
It s unclear not for me if something like this is not possible, but in my opinion has nothing to do with the software (register), but with the hardware problem caused by spilled water
You could try to reinstall the clean Windows operating system in order to check if this will help you
But if the new facility doesn't help then you should use the external keyboard because I doubt a replacement of the motherboard would be an option due to high costs.

  • Satellite L350-24U: how to clean the keyboard after having poured orange juice

    Hello out there.
I spilled my L350-24U with Orange juice.
    Now, I have 4 keys to self-retaining :-(

Can someone tell me how to clean the keyboard without damaging the laptop?

    Thanks in advance.

Hmm, it's still a stupid situation
Usually you can remove the keyboard of the laptop very easily.
The keyboard is fixed with screws hidden under thin plastic cover near the line of F1 - F12 key.

If you would remove plastic this cover then you would be able to remove the screws as well. Then you could lift the keyboard carefully and could disconnect the flat cable of the keyboard and the motherboard.

Notes; two small latches on both sides of the connector must be moved in order to disconnect the cable.

Then you could remove the keyboard and could clean it with a damp lint.
PS: the caps can be removed too.
But be very careful. You must raise the CAP to get it for free.

  • Satellite A50-110 crashed - replacement of the CPU

    Hello.

I should say this microprocessor appreciate supports laptop Satellite A50-110, crashed and they wanted change.

    Thank you

    Hello

You want to replace the CPU?
    Do you think its faulty?
    How did you check that?

To be honest this A50 is truly oldie the CPU that was used is Intel Pentium M 725 (1.60 GHz, 2 MB Cache, 400 MHz FSB, L2)

I'm not sure that this chipset was built in but generally if you want to use the new CPU, ensuring that the chipset would support the new processor.
But even if the chipset would support the new processor, there is always a question regarding BIOS support it might be possible that BIOS wouldn't treat a new CPU.

  • Re: Satellite A10-S100 - how to replace the keyboard?

I need to replace the card key of my Satellite A10-S100.

    Hi mate,

You never exchanged a keyboard or any other part of the equipment of a laptop? Well, maybe you should ask a technician for laptop help

I m not Satellite A10 owner but normally you remove the keyboard first (between the keyboard and display) bracket. Under the keyboard support, you will find a few screw now the keyboard. Remove them and then you can lift the keyboard but be Ume with the cable on the underside of the keyboard.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite A50 - where can I find the network controller drivers and others?

    Hello

I'm not quite sure this is the right forum for my question. I can't find this exact computer match when looking for drivers. I don't know if this computer is the United States and Europe, but hope to get help.

    The computer is
    Toshiba
    Satellite A50 system unit
    Model - PSA50A-04601E
    Serial - P 64014134

Basically, I want to create a CD containing the drivers for a friend and I seem to have as much success as he did. Assistance or management that helps to accomplish this is the most popular. Basically I want just to compile a cd of drivers for him.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Hello

I tried a bit with Google and I founded on the Satellite A50 PSA50A is an Australian model, because there I found it:

    Hi Newton_1,

It s nice that you have created this forum and post here a bit but some important info are missing.

    What operating system you have?
How did did you reinstall Windows (Microsoft or Toshiba disk)?

In addition, it would be interesting to know what you mean with Ethernal pilot. Do you want to say Ethernet driver?

Normally, if you reinstall Windows using the Toshiba Recovery disk you don't need a special driver. Everything is pre-installed on your computer.

  • Satellite P300 - 271 - how to replace the keyboard?

    Hello
I have a Satellite P300 - 271 and there are a few damaged keys. I bought a new keyboard for this laptop.

Is there a caraa how do I replace the keyboard?

    Greets, Benjamin

    Hi Benjamin,

As far as I know that these manuals are not for the public. Technicians certified for laptop only can download these manuals. You can download the normal user manual that came with your laptop.

A friend told me to replace the keyboard to remove the keyboard first, support but it s fixed by screws on the underside. After that, you can remove the keyboard but be careful with the cable.

Disassembly of the laptop is a little tricky. If you n t have experience with that you should ask a technician for laptop help.

  • Satellite A50 101 - where to find the drivers

    Hi guys,.

I really need all the drivers Toshiba Satellite A50-101 that I need to re - install Windows and I've lost my recovery disc. However, on the drivers here on download page the site they offer only them to the A100...

    Can anyone help? I'm desperate...

    Thank you

    Hi mate

The A50 is a former series of notebook and that's why pilots have been moved to the Archive area.

You choose the type of product: Archive instead of the laptop.

Then, you should find the Satellite A50.

    See you soon
