Satellite A500 - how to unsubscribe HDD1/SSD1 password?

Hello.

I recently bought a Satellite A500 with Windows 7 Home Premium. I registered secure BIOS password for user and HDD1/SSD1. Now I need to enter my password twice (same for both user & HDD1/SSD1) whenever I boot.

How to cancel the HDD1/SSD1 password so I need only enter the password at startup?

Thanks for your help.

Hello

Normally, it is fairly easy to remove the HARD drive password if you know.

Go into the BIOS, select the BIOS password. As far as I know first that asked you the current password you need to enter. As then leave the password empty. All that s!

Can you confirm this?

  • Satellite A500 - how to reinstall the original Windows 7?

    Hello

I bought the Toshiba Satellite A500-19U and Windows 7. I tried to create a new partition, then I've done assets so he hid, after restarting the laptop, I had a black screen and massage (bootmgr is missing)

So I installed another copy of Windows 7 just to connect to my computer. Then after the copy of Windows 7 installation I made inactive D if it appeared there is file recovery. So my question is: as long as I have this file I want to reinstall the original Windows 7 I have in the drive hard, but how?

When I press F and repair, then it does not give the last option of HARD drive recovery! Why and I have the recovery file?

    Please help me

    Hello

I guess you didn't read the manual user, first of all. I m right? ;)

Well, normally HARD drive recovery you can start if you go into the advanced boot menu (F8) and select Repair my computer. After that, you can choose the option of HARD drive recovery.

But I guess that this isn't possible anymore because you have installed another copy of Windows 7. If this menu isn't available anymore.

The only option to restore factory settings using the Toshiba recovery disc. Did you create it? This can be through with preinstalled creative drive recovery Toshiba but if you didn t create it, it s too late now, too.

The only option now is to order a new drive Toshiba Recovery directly. So take a look in your user manual.

Is it possible to watch movies on the TV?

    Thanks for your reply.

    Hello!

If you want to connect this laptop to a TV, then use an adapter, e. g. D - SUB to RCA.
    Here's a picture I want to say: [D - SUB to RCA | http://www.gainbery.com/Product/Adaptor/vga%20to%20rca.jpg]

On my Satellite L300 I use such a D - SUB to RCA adapter and it works without any problem. I am very satisfied with this solution.

PS On this forum, I don't see any topic title, only the name of the authors. Is always normal? It is very convenient that way, but maybe it is related to my pc.

    Hello

I found a step by step explanation to clear a BIOS password:

"Turning on the computer from a State"off"with the ESC key. You are asked "password =". "

Enter the password, and then press ENTER. The unit will display: "the valid password is entered, the system starts up. Check the system. Press key (F1). »

Press the F1 key. This will start the device in the BIOS Setup mode.

Using the arrow keys or tab, move to the password field and select REGISTERED.

Press the SPACE bar, enter the password, and then press ENTER. For now, the password field is transformed into NON REGISTERED. »

    Hope this will help you.
    Good bye

Another thing, I would like to try one of the programs of resetting the BIOS as KeyDisk or CmosPWD but if I put a CD, DVD, Flash drive, etc, in my pc and press F12 for the boot menu, nothing happens so I can't do that!
