  I can not say what tests your repair service ran, but the problem of the screen could probably be an Inverter problem. As for the problem of dvd. I heard that need laptops Toshiba Toshiba external CD/DVD to boot or otherwise it won't work. I have never tried so I can't attest to that, but it could very well be probably that.   The factory settings can be restored with the Toshiba recovery disc. I guess that your laptop has been delivered with Windows Vista, if you have options to restore factory settings: the Toshiba disk recovery or HARD drive recovery service.

  HARD drive recovery function formats the first partition of your laptop and install Vista again with all the drivers and tools of Toshiba. It is an image that is stored on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder HDDRecovery.
  If you go into the advanced with F8 boot menu after you start the computer, you can start this feature of Toshiba. And then select Repair my computer and some Windows files will be loaded. Then, you can choose the function to drive HARD Toshiba Recovery and follow the instructions on the screen.

  The Toshiba Recovery disk, you must create first, or have you done this yet? Normally, you get a reminder of recovery message after the first start of the laptop that you must burn this disc.   The same support that? Dell is compatible with your system according to the warranty and if everything you do is a clean install on the recovery disc from Dell or Installatiion disc that came with the machine, then you will be fine - but it will not set the clock on your guarantee - the remaining time and support options, you bought will remain the same.  You may need to manually enable the facility again, but if you follow the instructions until you get a man, you should be fine.  Make SURE, you have your product key before doing this.  If this isn't the case, we can still possibly get it using special software (asuming it is the same product key supplied with the amd drive system and not some type of upgrade) but had to do it before you re-install or it will be lost.  Let me know if it is a question.

  If you hear here, of course we will still support you (although if you have problems with the disc of recovery or recovery or the OEM Installation Disk Partition then do not deal with them on all these issues - but that has not changed - it has always been like that).

  If you want to tell someone else, then you will need to explain better.

  In my view, a re-installation is a radical option just to clean your hard drive, but it's your decision to make.  I'd do it if I had no other alternative.
