    I have Toshiba Satellite A110-195

    My questions are:
    (1) what is the maximum size of ram per slot, 1 GB or 2 GB?
I have 2 cylinders on my laptop right now 512 MB each. Am I able to replace one of them with a ram of 2 GB?

    (2) right now on my laptop I have DDR2 [PC2-4300] Rams.

    Any SoDimm DDR2 ram working?
Either the ram DDR2 and exactly PC2-4300.

Laptop supports the Mobile Intel® 945GM Express Chipset
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/27857/Intel-82945GM-graphics-and-memory-controller

According to the Intel page, the chipset handles max 4 GB RAM.
This means that you can use 2 x 2 GB RAM or 4 GB RAM module.

    The chipset supports DDR2-400 / DDR2-533 / modules of RAM DDR2-667

    Mike hills

The brochure says that you can install a 1 GB module in the memory slot. There is only one slot, you can install memory.

So if there are 256MB onboard, you can increase the total 1.25 GB memory

  • Satellite A110-174 - RAM upgrade questions

    Hello

    I have a Satellite A110-174

I want to buy a RAM module (it uses ddr2 ram, 533 MHz), but it seems impossible, in view of their.
I can only find the frequencies of 800 or higher.

I can use them or they give me problems / incompatibilities?

Can I mount 1 module or to buy 2 modules?

The motherboard will read up to 4 GB or need a Bios Update?

    Thank you

Satellite A110-174 can be upgraded up to 4 GB of RAM.

In order to use a feature of dual channel RAM, two modules must be used.
This means module of RAM 2 GB in each slot.

The 4 GB RAM limit is caused by Mobile Intel 945 GM Express chipset
http://Ark.Intel.com/de/products/27857 as well as the Intel Core CPU T1350 http://ark.intel.com/de/products/27243
The processor supports the 533 Mhz FSB (front side bus) and the RAM modules will run max at 533 Mhz.

Thus, you should use the DDR2-533 modules

But sometimes, you should be able to use the DDR2 - 667 Mhz modules. In this case the 667 Mhz speed module will be clocked at 533 Mhz

  • Satellite A300-1QP - RAM upgrade question

    Hello world

After a few years, I decided to spend the money to upgrade the RAM.
Now, I'm pretty stuck to understand what to do.

I always knew that my laptop can be upgraded to 8 GB.
I also have many references for this information:

    -model: Satellite A300-1 q PSAGCE-07000QIT
    (http://www.toshiba.it/discontinued-products/satellite-a300-1qp/)

I checked physically slots: there are currently two slots of 2 GB each.
As long as no expert, I thought that the the more logical way to upgrade such a configuration is to buy the other two chips of 4 GB each to reach the 8GB.

However, it appears this combination didn't is not possible because I don't find not (I checked the site of Kingston and the Amazon). The upgrade of RAM I want to achieve is:
    -DDR2
    -800 Mhz
    -8 GB

If this can be useful, I note all the data on the other two RAM modules:
    2GB 2Rx8 PC2-64005-666-12-Z3
    800 Mhz DDR2-SDRAM

Can someone help me understand what to do to upgrade the RAM 8 GB?

    Thank you very much

    Francesco

    Hello

The laptop was equipped with the Intel GM45 Express chipset and the Intel ARK page this Chipset Mobile Intel GM45 Express is capable of dealing with the 8 GB of RAM
The chipset seems to support 667 MHz / 800 MHz/1066 modules MHz

If you want to increase the RAM up to 8 GB of RAM, the best option would be the use of 2 x SO-DIMM 4 GB (DDR2 800 Mhz) modules
The present modules must be removed and replaced with two modules of 4 GB.

Usually, you can use modules of different brand but modules good markets can cause a lot of problem different and strange. So I recommend you to buy good quality like Kingston, Toshiba, modules etc.

  • Satellite A110-153: RAM upgrade Question

    Hello

I am the proud owner of a Toshiba Satellite A110-153 I've had for a few years.
I am interested in the upgrade of RAM but stumbled upon this controversy.

1 internal memory expansion module sizes are 256, 512, 1024 MB.
    2. maximum speed of the internal memory is 4 GB
    3. 2 memory slots.

Now, I would like to upgrade my laptop to the maximum 4 GB of RAM, but how can I do that when I'm not allowed to use 2 x 2 GB modules?

Is it humanly possible to upgrade my laptop to 4 GB?

    Thanks for the time.

    William.

    Hello

If you want to upgrade the RAM to 4 GB max you can use modules of 2 x 2 GB RAM!

The laptop must manage the DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) 200 - PIN SODIMM modules

But note; the 4 GB of RAM can be used by the 64 bit OS!
Win XP or Vista 32 bit would recognize as 3.2 GB!

    Hello

You must use the DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) 200-PIN SODIMM memory modules. Usually it s any manufacturing of RAM is. It is only important that you use the memory right modules that support the right specifications.

By the way; You can also order the right bar of the ASP from Toshiba. Simply contact the ASP technician and ask about compatible parts.

  • Satellite A60-122: RAM upgrade

I am considering the upgrade of RAM on my laptop 1 GB + 256 MB (it is currently 256 + 256). As far as I understand, Toshiba recommends the use of memory Kingston KTT3311 / 1 G, which is, unfortunately, ridiculously expensive. I wonder if I could use a less expensive memory - say, Kingston ValueRAM KVR266X64SC25 / 1 G?

Also, I don't understand why the manual for the laptop says that PC2100 memory should be used, while the recommended Kingston memory is PC2700.

    I m not 100% sure, but I think that the PC2100 support 266 MHz and PC2700 333 MHz
However, the two should be possible but I recommend also using two exact modules

    Hi Benji

I don't have much experience with this stuff, but I want to give you a little comment. You are absolutely right about the USB ports of your device. It is USB 2.0. Please check if the USB ports work correctly with some other external device.

  • Problems with map graphics on my Satellite A60-672

I have a Satellite A60-672 which graphics by ATI. Repeatedly at startup until it broke down and the system crash online said whenever it is ATI technologies. I sent ATI and they said that there is nothing to do with them.

I tried Toshiba, but none of the work address by e-mail. The crash system tells me to uninstall the software, but given that I put on, I mistrust all this as it may ruin the functioning of my laptop.

Currently, my laptop works very well with this ongoing problem. This happened to someone else or we know how to contact toshiba.

    Thank you

Sounds like a driver problem, you just need to download the Toshiba display driver, uninstall your old ATI driver with the ATI Control Panel, restart and reinstall again.
don't worry this will cause anything on your laptop in addition to repairing damaged files that crash. It is a simple operation.

  • Satellite A60E-672: do I need to new OS after new motherboard replacement?

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I need to buy a new copy of Windows XP, if I change the motherboard?

I guess the laptop will be version Toshiba OEM XP and XP security then considered a different laptop and prevent the operation!

Also where can I get a new card mother (and at what price) for a Satellite A60E-672 valves. V000040780?

I'm trying just any price on fixing or stripping options and sell as bits!

    Thanks Jon.

    Hello

    > I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I need to buy a new copy of Windows XP, if I change the motherboard?

If you want to use the same card, you can use the CD recovery with no problems.

But if you replace the table with different that you will need to buy an original Windows OS. To my eyes the Toshiba Recovery CD will not work.
Why? Because the image on the restore CD contains all Toshiba tools, drivers, and utilities and this preinstalled different application like utility chipset, graphics driver, etc. could not be compatible with the new motherboard and possibly you will not be able to install the recovery CD.

    > where can I get a new card of mother
You can order the new Board of Directors of the ASP in your country or you will check the Ebay for a part of second hand

  • Satellite A60-672 has an internal memory that is immovable

NEBIE here with what is probably a stupid question.

I bought 1 GB of DDR Ram to upgrade the laptop above (which is currently a very limited 256 MB RAM) and removed the access memory based slot then... confusion.

This model has an internal memory that is immovable?
There is a black sticker on the memory, the levers to release the memory are blocked to other areas of the motherboard that makes me suspect that there is another angle.

If Yes, where is the actual expansion slot?

Sorry if this seems a bit thick!

    Hope you can help.

    > This model has an internal memory which is not removable?

Yes, the Satellite A60 supports a 256 MB internal memory and this memory may not be withdrawn. There is therefore only ONE slot of memory which is expandable.

So, you will be able to upgrade memory only to 1280MB

  • Satellite R630-13F - RAM upgrade

    Hi all

My R630 is faced with a newly added software for Photoshop (CS5 version). Whenever it is quite slow to open and try to merge the picture for the economy.

I was wondering if I can upgrade the RAM. With a very limited knowledge, I would like to know if I need to buy an additional (if there is a vacancy for it), or I need to get one to replace the old.

I think increasing the memory to 4 GB, but I was wondering if it will be enough for Photoshop. Thanks a lot for any input.

    Best wishes

    Tim

    Hey Buddy,

RAM upgrade is not a problem because it is easy and can be done in a few minutes.

Satellite R630 has Intel HM55 chipset, and the maximum capacity is 8 GB. This means that you can install 4GB module in each memory location. Also an upgrade to 4 GB is not a problem, you can keep your 2 GB module and just buy a new 2 GB module. The module DDR3-10066 part number is PA3676U-1M2G.
