Satellite A60 - lines on the screen

Hello

I have a Satellite A60 with a graphics problem. The screen contains all the lines and is also the same when connected to an external monitor.

Thanks Ian

Hello

Usually, when someone writes something on the laptop there is usually a question at the end. I understand your ad as a single report. ;)
You have any questions on this subject?

Anyway just a comment to this: graphics card is faulty motherboard Exchange.

    Hi all

Recently, I noticed that when I turn on my laptop there is a band of what looks like a line of black spots. In addition, I've got lines everywhere which makes it almost impossible to see!

Now there is no way in hell I dropped it nor have I nothing left on the laptop at all, and when I checked, it was not visible cracks on the screen. With respect to maintenance, I use it a hell of a lot in college but I usually carry it in a laptop bag which has a compartment for him, I turn it on whenever I use it not and I certainly go a drop or leave anything on what could cause it to crack.

That's happened through hell? Could he cracked internally? And if so, how the basis that occur with or without any force? Unless it might have been a trauma that I didn't know, but saw that it happened about 45 minutes after the last, I turned off and turned on AND that it is in the same place I left it that was on my desktop, I would say that's a far-fetched possibility.

I bought this 29 September last year so I'm still covered by the warranty. I checked online that I have an "international limited warranty. -What is the standard warranty? I also checked if the screen is covered by the warranty and it says in him "NOT COVERED" who:

"Damage caused by accident, intentional or accidental misuse, abuse, neglect or improper maintenance, use under abnormal
conditions, including fracture or damage to the LCD (screen), treatment of cases, cables, adapters, keyboard keys, lids, caps
    and latches. »

Because she is probably 'accident', this means that what is not covered? Here's the bollocks. There must be a way that this could be covered by the warranty? I'm not in any kind of position to spend another big buck to get this repaired thing...

I bought this from Harvey Norman, Australia, which is a well known retailer for these kinds of products.

Any help is very useful and I look forward to your responses.

    Kind regards

    Charles.

    Toshiba Satellite A660.

    Hello

Are you sure that this problem is related to the internal screen? Theoretically, it could be the graphics card itself and you can check this by connecting an external monitor. If you can see the same lines on it it s graphic card itself, otherwise the screen inside.

But I think that in both cases, you need professional help of an authorized service provider. Guys can check your laptop, the new order parts and replace them for you. Also, they can you give an exact answer if this is under warranty or not. Here in the forum we can only speculate on that and he s only forum user.

So get in touch with an ASP in your country. I'm sure that the problem could be solved as soon as possible with the guys. :)

  • Satellite 5200: lines on the screen - driver does not properly

    Laptop: Satellite 5200 702

A few days ago, my laptop screen went all funny lines, came to the screen in a form of flickering green, the laptop froze and then the driver failed. The funcitons still mobile but I have these lines always start the toshiba XP loading screen system, so I know it will be a hardware problem. I have attached an external monitor to confirm that this is not a screen problem.

Sometimes I turn on the laptop and the screen will be fine and loaded drivers, but that only lasts for about 2 minutes then XP lock ip, blue screens and reboots. Then once it to load with the dirver does everything wrong.

I took the flat laptop cleaned and looked for something sensitive which could be causing it? I have not changed or verified the memory of the laptop, if it's an idea to do?

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

This really looks like to me a graphics card failure. What do you think?
Have you tried recovery of the operating system with the recovery CD Toshiba delivered? If this is not the case, try to install the OS from CD. Then you can be sure that the issue is not relegated to a malfunction of the software (driver) to 100%.

But generally, I don t think you can fix it yourself. I m not sure if the graphics card may be withdrawn or entire motherboard but if it s a bad hardware work if the part needs to be replaced.
If you have no significant experience in the laptop repair, then you should ask a technician for help.

  • Satellite A350 - lines on the screen

    Hi all

About 6 months ago I bought a Satellite A350. Had no probs at all until there is about 2 weeks where a really faint horizontal line would appear running on the screen, about halfway to the top. Then a few days ago the bottom all the half of the screen went sort of grey with very thin vertical lines... half still apparently normal superior.

Anyone know what this could be? Any help would be appreciated

    Hello

    > Anyone know what this could be?
In my opinion, the case is clear: the internal display seems to be defective and must be replaced or have you tried an external monitor? If the external monitor works properly, you need a new internal view.

An authorized service provider can help you share and order a new one. On the Toshiba page, you can search the nearest ASP.

  • Satellite M70-339 vertical lines on the screen

    Hello...

I have a Satellite M70-339, which will show only the vertical lines on the screen.
I connected an external monitor and booted in safe mode.
    I uninstalled the display drivers.
I started to monitor and reinstalled the display drivers.
The computer will now boot up screen.

I put the display to indicate to both monitor and screen.

    On the monitor, all right.
On the screen, I get vertical lines color, similar to a wallpaper (wallpaper is not pretty).

Did anyone has got any ideas what could be the problem, or how to diagnose the problem
    Any help would be appreciated.

    John C

If everything is OK on the external monitor that is the best evidence that this problem is related to the internal LCD. Display must be exchanged.

  • Satellite L830 - horizontal line across the screen

All new Satellite L830 has a horizontal line across the screen.

What can be the cause and how can be fixed?

If the laptop is brand new it back as soon as possible and ask for replacement.
On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but it may be related to faulty display, especially if you can see from the first moments when the laptop is turned on.

Don't try anything. Request a new one. If you can not new, contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They need to exchange the defective part.

  • Satellite Pro M10 - horizontal lines on the screen in different areas

    Hi all

    I hope someone can help.
My Satellite Pro M10 seems to suffer a display problem where I have horizontal lines on the screen in different areas.
It would be well for 10 minutes and when the laptop seems to warm up this problem begins, then shortly after
The laptop would crash and enter in a resolution of 800 x 600 16 colors or sometimes freeze.

Graphic drivers have been resettled, and even a new installation of Windows XP from the recovery CD does not help.
A reboot doesn't solve what the same thing happens again and after one minute of use, so I thought it might be a video or cooling problem.
I changed the video card I had a spare part of my last motherboard hoping this would solve the problems, but the problem persists.
Perhaps a cooling problem? Or problems of motherboard?
The motherboard has been replaced twice, hoping that this isn't another mobo problem.

    Any advice would be great.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I m not 100% sure but to me it looks a bit like an overheating problem
Maybe the graphics card may not be properly cooled after a certain period of time and that's why these strange horizontal lines appear on the screen.

I wonder how you were able to replace the graphics chip on the motherboard?  :|
If I m not wrong not the chip is fixed and the replacement is very easy and difficult

It of always difficult to say what's maybe wrong without running several diagnostic tests in most cases this problem may be related to the defective chip or motherboard and so the following should be checked

Sorry, but that's all I can suggest.

    Best regards from my friend

  • Satellite Pro A210 - repeat vertical lines on the screen

I hope someone can help me.

I am a teacher and was bought by my school a Toshiba Satellite Pro A210 for me to do my school work and connect to a SMART board to teach with. Throughout its probably one of the best laptops I got through school. I got it two months.

There is only one problem with it. Its developed a rather weird problem. Occasionally, the screen suddenly freezes, and the display will be replaced by thin, alternating vertical black and white lines. The only way to get rid of them is to turn off the laptop and restart it (particularly annoying when it happened in the middle of a lesson when I've been respected by an OFSTEd Inspector!)

Technician computer school has no idea what is the cause. I was wondering if someone here might have some advice.

    Thanks in advance.

I ve the same laptop but I didn t receive similar lines on the screen.
What you could do is update the BIOS and the driver (if possible) display.

If the same problem happens again, you must connect an external monitor to the laptop.

Then check if the same lines appears on the external display. If so, then a problem of graphics card might be possible!

  • Satellite A205-s4577 - horizontal lines on the screen

    I have satellite a 205-s4577.
There are horizontal white lines on the screen as soon as I start it... it hangs at any point n that get these lines.
It is also sometimes black or white background just black n.,.
I contacted the service customer and update the drivers but nothing helped...

It works on the mode safe and bios...
This problem is very common when using ac power supply...
But it works fine on battery only on first boot it hangs, then works correctly
A center of service-tech said motherboard disappeared, without it seein juice by the description of the problem...

Please suggest a solution... m a urgent need for assistance

Well, I guess this also appears on the external monitor too
    Did you check that?
    Please do

If the same symptoms would be visible outside monitors so it s GPU related problem I mean the graphics card could be affected and because the GPU is a part of the motherboard, then entire motherboard must be replaced so the tech service guy could be good

  • Hi, I just got a second generation ipod nano, and whenever I have unplug the charger a line crosses the screen. Help, please

Hi, I just bought a used second generation ipod nano and whenever I have unplug the charger a line crosses the screen and I can't do anything with the ipod. Help, please.

When you do a Reset (reboot) on the iPod

Learn how to reset your iPod - Apple Support  (see iPod with a click wheel)

do you see this line on the screen when the Apple logo?  If you do, it is probably a hardware problem.  If the line is not there at the start, but returns after the iPod starts, you can do a restore of the iPod using iTunes.  This d erases the IPO, reinstall its software and sets it to the default settings.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod settings - Apple Support

If the problem persists after the restore, the cause is likely to be hardware problem.

  • Qosmio G10 has vertical lines on the screen

I have a G10 which I use for the last 15 months since I bought it.
However, there are now 4 vertical lines on the screen, 2 Purple (magenta?), 1 yellow and 1 cyan. Other than these lines there are no other problems, it never fell down or something like that.

The lines are still there, they do not change in any way and are always in the same place. They appear on the screen at first power up, before the Qosmio logo lights up.

They have not all appear at the same time, they all appeared individually in the past two months. I've seen the last of them disappear briefly, then stay on.

I guess that my screen is dying slowly, I guess to be an expensive item.

Any advice thrown my way would be greatly appreciated!

I took a picture of the screen you will find at:

    http://www.imagebucket.NET/images/lldata/displaylines.jpg

Note: the photo was taken with Media Player full screen on a black image, just to clearly show the lines)

    Hello

I suggest you connect an external display to check if it's a graphics card or a display problem. If cela pipes appears also on the external screen then it could also be a problem with the graphics card.
If these lines do not appear on the external display while the display of the laptop has a malfunction.
However, this does not change your situation. I recommend you contact the Toshiba ASP to solve this problem.

  • Qosmio G15: Green vertical lines on the screen

All started an ordinary day, when I was playing music on my iTunes.
All of a sudden my screen went black and the music stopped, but my power button is always blue. Since then, whenever I try to start it, it goes on the Qosmio screen and Windows XP screen and plays the startup sound, but there all those green vertical lines on the screen. And then it goes black and tsays in this way.

I was able to use Windows VGA (whatever that means) with lines all over the screen, but I am not able to start normally. Does anyone have any suggestions or have had the same problem? Please help me!
I have a Toshiba G15 Windows XP Media Center, but am not able to use it normally.

  • Re: Equium M50-216 - lines across the screen

Hi my Equium M50-216 has lines across the screen and low who go up and down the screen.
There is no picture it s just white.

If I plug it into an external monitor I get a fine display on the monitor is so the screen is defective or something else?
I think that the inverter is ok because it of bright and not dull.

    See you soon

    I agree with Luke.

If the image on the external monitor is ok then the graphics card should be ok.
If an FL inverter would be defective then everything would be visible, but just a little more dark and as behind a fog

In your case, it looks like a display problem

I think you should ask a technician for replacement laptop

  • Qosmio G30 - white lines on the screen and BSOD

    1. I have a Qosmio G30
2 operating system Windows XP MCE
and I have problem "white lines on the screen ' when windows start to load after that I got the"blue screen of death"and restart the computer.
I try to get back, but unfortunately came with the laptop recovery CD doesn't seem to work...

Whenever I finished to recover I have "windows loading files" and once this is done, it shows me the so-called "blue screen of death"...

    Hello

I m afraid. I have bad news for you ;(
I think you ve you have a problem with the hardware in my eyes, there might be something wrong with the GPU chip.
The white lines on the screen could be related to a faulty graphics card and get the BSOD error due to a hardware malfunction or software serious questions

I m sure that the recovery CD does not contain software problems and therefore only the fault of hardware could be the reason for the lines on the screen and the BSOD.

In my opinion, you should contact the ASP in your country for assistance if all goes well you guarantee is valid.

    Good luck

  • Qosmio G10 begins with vertical lines on the screen

    Hello, can anyone help?

When I try to start my sign qosmio G10 comes on with vertical lines on the screen. And the screen goes black and I can only hear the fan.
In VGA mode, it begins upward, but always with the lines on the screen.
Is there something wrong with the video card? In my view, that there are more people with this problem.
    Toshiba offered little help?

I'm 'out out of warranty '. I need to by a new complete motherboard or y at - it another option? Replace the video card?

    Hello

Its a shame about the warranty because you ask the service partner Toshiba for the verification of the laptop and this procedure would be free. You know, the warranty would cover the audit of the laptop.

But I would say the external display connection and then you can check if the same vertical lines appear on the external display.
If you see the lines on the second monitor, then I guess it could be something wrong with the graphics card or motherboard.

I think that this procedure is the best way to find out what could be the problem, but anyway, I think you should ask a technician for assistance if you want to solve this problem.

PS: Have you tried to reinstall or update the graphics driver? I think you should do it but I don't know if it will help you, but you know Mr. try is free ;)

One of my friends had a similar problem with the vertical lines on other mobile manufacturing, and it was a WLan cable which was responsible for the strange lines on the screen.
