Satellite A660-07R: 3D display diagonal lines

My a660 07R 3d portable satellite showing diagonal lines, color Rainbow. Help, please!

Connect the laptop to external monitor and check if the same lines would be visible on the 2nd monitor.
I guess its problem of graphics so the same line wouldn't be visible on another screen

    Hey Buddy,

Shared memory quantity can't be changed because it will be controlled automatically.

But I m wondering why you ask for this as far as I know the Satellite A660 with nVidia GT350M card has own graphic memory (1 GB). This memory will be the only graphics card.

    :) Look, man

Each screen (TV, LCD, TFT, portable computers display, external display, etc.) that may affect your eyes if you would not follow the rules recommended by the manufacturers and specialist eye ;)

You should take a break between sessions of computer work and games.
You must keep the distance to the screen and remember that your environment is bright enough

Read the operating instructions and ask your eye specialist how to avoid red-eye ;)

  • Re: Satellite A660-149 - such display faded!

I've had my laptop a few days and I am so upset that I can't solve the problem I have on the display. I hope it's just my ignorance that prevents me to fix things and is not fault of the laptop!

Graphics and text appear terribly washed out, whether on the desktop or in the browser. Text in browsers is in fact generally so low that I can't read something often not. Windows 7 is a new operating system for me and I'm not sure what I should do to put my screen to life. I checked in the display settings, but the color depth seems to be at its maximum. What can I do? I couldn't live like this - please people, tell me that I can do something to fix the current situation!

It will be interesting to see it all and say if this is normal or not. It is not easy to discuss these visual problems.

For two weeks, I got Satellite A660-13 q and everything works perfectly.
If possible, make a screenshot, download somewhere and send us the link where we can see it.
By the way: perhaps you should contact your local agent and check if the same happen on another laptop A660, just to see if described problem occurs on your laptop only.

  • Satellite A660-07R - from 3D of Call of Duty black ops

    Hello

I have an A660/07R (PSAW3a-07R00R). I have updated all the software on the Toshiba site as on 10 December.

    (1) it won't play ops black cod in 3D. The image is blurred/double. Game works well when I turn off the 3D. The preview of the 3D settings works well.

    (2) 3D is tempremental. I seem to have to run wizard configure whenever I want the glasses and the transmitter to work.

I can't just allow it through the program bar.

    any thoughts?

    Hi hawksandre,

You speak feature 3D on monitor or what?

I put t know if Call of Duty supports 3D but 3D is possible on an external monitor. Monitor internal doesn t take in charge the 3D functionality.

  • Satellite A660/07R - what is supposed to come in the box?

Bought an A66/07R today but it seems they gave me display stock. How can I confirm if everything is in the box? I was expecting at least a recovery disc or software.

Recovery DVDs is not provided with laptops. It should be also described in manuals s user document. It is also described that you create DVDs of recovery only use preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator.

It is not as some disc of additional software. All software are already preinstalled and is part of the recovery image (recovery DVD).

  • Satellite A660 - need to display driver

    Hey,.

the hard drive of my computer recently failed and I lost part of my drivers. Thus, for example, I lost the driver for the mouse (which was easily downloadable and fixed).

But I also think that I lost the display driver, so now its running a "Non - PnP monitor generic on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" (as in my laptop seems to work my screen like component completely separate from himself) of those which has a resolution of 1024 x 768, on a computer screen in 1366 x 768 (and it is non - 3D) while you can imagine its great not having a stretched screen.

Also my keyboard shines no more, this wired on the same driver or do I need another? (this system was just patched up by TI guy)

So... I was wondering, can I download and install the Toshiba display driver and make it work?
If I download and install the driver display Toshiba it will fix these problems? and if he used / is not what is the next action plan?

If you could answer these questions, it would be very appreciated by me, and if you need more information, feel free to ask on this thread.

    Thank you.

    > can I download and install the Toshiba display driver and make it work?
    Why not?

See European driver of Toshiba available for this model of laptop graphics card drivers.

  • Satellite L750 - diagonal lines on the screen

Last week my Satellite L750 had pale grey diagonal lines connecting the upper left corner to the lower right corner. They cover the entire screen.

Tried to check for update nVidia drivers in Control Panel configuration, but Windows says I have the latest version.

No idea how I can solve this because it is very annoying.

How can you solve this problem?
As a first step, you should check what is may be defective. I'm 100% sure that it has nothing to do with the drivers.
What you can do is to connect the external monitor to your laptop and check if the same will be on screen. I guess not so in my opinion, your display is faulty and must be replaced.

  • Satellite A660 - display seems to come out of the 'calibration '.

I often hibernate instead of shut down or restart, even if I go to and from an administrator account to update Windows 7, Firefox and antimalware. I find that the screen tends to get all washed out, as if someone bent to the high brightness and reduces the contrast. It is not quite the same thing as the real Visual problem resembles a panel painted which is being altered, as white dither. It disappears after a reboot.

Y at - it something of graphics can I reset manually rather than through a full reboot?

It is not easy to say what the problem is here. The same happens when you use the sleep mode?
Using original pre-installed BONES that you got with your laptop or maybe clean version of the OS?
The original Toshiba display driver you are using.

Satellite A660 is not the laptop more recent, so it will be interesting to know since when did you notice this behavior.

    Hi all

This is the driver downloaded on the Toshiba site and it is quite disturbing since it is one loan and other machine my a660 had another serious problem with the same graphics chip (GT330M) is what can I do?

    Thank you very much

I noticed the same problem on my Satellite P500 with the same NVIDIA graphics card. But after that the driver puts everything works well again.

To be honest I don't know why this happen and always happens when I m using internet explorer or the browser chrome. When this happens to you?

If you can continue your work after recovering from the pilot, according to me, there is no reason to panic

  • Satellite A660 - lines on the screen

    Hi all

Recently, I noticed that when I turn on my laptop there is a band of what looks like a line of black spots. In addition, I've got lines everywhere which makes it almost impossible to see!

Now there is no way in hell I dropped it nor have I nothing left on the laptop at all, and when I checked, it was not visible cracks on the screen. With respect to maintenance, I use it a hell of a lot in college but I usually carry it in a laptop bag which has a compartment for him, I turn it on whenever I use it not and I certainly go a drop or leave anything on what could cause it to crack.

That's happened through hell? Could he cracked internally? And if so, how the basis that occur with or without any force? Unless it might have been a trauma that I didn't know, but saw that it happened about 45 minutes after the last, I turned off and turned on AND that it is in the same place I left it that was on my desktop, I would say that's a far-fetched possibility.

I bought this 29 September last year so I'm still covered by the warranty. I checked online that I have an "international limited warranty. -What is the standard warranty? I also checked if the screen is covered by the warranty and it says in him "NOT COVERED" who:

"Damage caused by accident, intentional or accidental misuse, abuse, neglect or improper maintenance, use under abnormal
conditions, including fracture or damage to the LCD (screen), treatment of cases, cables, adapters, keyboard keys, lids, caps
    and latches. »

Because she is probably 'accident', this means that what is not covered? Here's the bollocks. There must be a way that this could be covered by the warranty? I'm not in any kind of position to spend another big buck to get this repaired thing...

I bought this from Harvey Norman, Australia, which is a well known retailer for these kinds of products.

Any help is very useful and I look forward to your responses.

    Kind regards

    Charles.

    Toshiba Satellite A660.

    Hello

Are you sure that this problem is related to the internal screen? Theoretically, it could be the graphics card itself and you can check this by connecting an external monitor. If you can see the same lines on it it s graphic card itself, otherwise the screen inside.

But I think that in both cases, you need professional help of an authorized service provider. Guys can check your laptop, the new order parts and replace them for you. Also, they can you give an exact answer if this is under warranty or not. Here in the forum we can only speculate on that and he s only forum user.

So get in touch with an ASP in your country. I'm sure that the problem could be solved as soon as possible with the guys. :)

  • Satellite A660-1FM - maximum resolution of the display of the external monitor

    Hi all

Maybe it is (probably) an easy question to answer, but I have a Satellite A660-1FM and want to use it with my external screen Samsung Syncmaster (forgot model). I got a HDMI-> DVI - D adapter and everything is going well, but here's my question:

The page of specifications of toshiba for my laptop (http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/product/Satellite-A660-1FM/1096013/toshibaShop/false/) shows a capacity of external resolution of:
    Maximum resolution: 2 048 x 1 536
    Max refresh rate: 100 Hz
Resolution No interlaced with the maximum refresh rate: 1920 x 1 200

But I get what I call resolution HDMI standard (no wonder, I guess) when connected HDMI-> DVI - D to my external monitor. I have already run this monitor on my desk at highest resolution of 1080 p, so the monitor is capable.
Wondering what I'm missing here, or is that a matter of graphics card specification is more than possible to the output of the laptop?

    Thanks for any help
    Andy

    Hi Khaled,

What is the native screen resolution of your external display?
Can you connect your laptop and monitor with HDMI cable only why you need an adapter?

To be honest I don't understand your question. If you already have the Full HD screen resolution why do you need more?

  • Satellite A660-149 - update the display driver

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A660-149 with a Nvida GT330M and Windows 7 64-bit driver.
TEMPRO gives me updates to download 260,51 drivers from the toshiba site but it says model 3d only. Who doesn't have my portable 3d capabilities. When I go to the NVIDIA site, it says download the 260 drivers. I've also heard you need to install drivers of manufacturing is it true?

The other problem is that I get an error display sometimes say "display driver stopped responding and recovered." The im driver uses is the 189.58.

. Been using this version of the driver since I have my laptop on a few months ago.

    Thank you

    Bio Hi,

As far as I know, that you can install the new display driver from Toshiba Web site 260 because 3D means the 3D on external monitor support and as far as I know it of possible with GT330 M graphics card.

Just check the other threads here in the forum, everything you need to know is already written:

  • Satellite A660-07U - cannot install the new display driver

When I got to my laptop, it wouldn't even start the box! So I googled how to get operational and it wouldn't install Windows 7 32 bit, so I installed Windows 7 64 bit and that worked.

I am one of the users who is also having their laptop freeze on them at all times. I did the update to the Bios and it always does. So I decided to try to update the graphics drivers with new ones on this site, but it seems that they won't install. I got 64-bit drivers for Windows 7 first, I have Windows 7 64 bit installed in my laptop. But it cannot find the necessary material, I thought, he says its because my laptop is not a 3D version, should even elsewhere?

So then I tried the 32 bit drivers and it says im using the wrong system operating system for these drivers.

How about if some drivers I can use?

    Hello

A moment I really t understand: why you have your own version of Windows 7?
Usually by Satellite A660 is always equipped with operating system (Windows 7) and it s already preinstalled. This means that you can start your computer laptop out of the box and Windows 7 will begin. Therefore, you don't need an additional installation.
And let me guess: you don t have created a right Toshiba Recovery disk?

In any case, before update you the display driver you must remove the older version first. Then, restart your computer and install the latest version.
