Problems with a systems restore

I did a system restore on my laptop Dell Inspiron 9400, but she wiped my Logitech, camera and my HP, printer, model no: 5515. I down loaded the disc that came with the camera, and all was well until I got a blue page bring warning me that a serious error had occurred, and the computer was being turned off to avoid serious damage occurring. I turned on the computer and everything was fine, the camera work, I checked through Event Viewer, and it had been a mistake. Can someone tell me why I got this blue page, I am now afraid download disc for the printer in case the same thing happens. Can anyone help please?

Hello

-What are the exact error messages in Event Viewer?

Perhaps you have restored the system to the date before installing hardware and their driver software and this is the reason why you lost your Logitech, the camera and the HP printer.

I suggest you to install the equipment, including the printer without be too concerned by the events that might occur on your computer.

  • problem with the system restore when you try to back up disks

my system crashed.  would not boot.  Several attempts later, went to the system recovery... do you have a full upward (23 dvd) then did a complete restore.  laptop works.  However restore my files from the backup disks does not work.  I get a failure in the system restore somewhere in the treatment of the disc 12 (out of 23).  Help!  sighing heavily... of course this happens when I am in a time crunch

Hello cyberterp. I see that you are having problems to restore your data from backup disks. To make sure that I understand you were able to make the recovery of the operating system, but the data you have saved in the course of the process you're trying to get now?

Check the bottom of the twelve disc and make sure that there are no scratches on it. If there is even the smallest scratch to find a local store that will shine the disc for you; This can allow you to read the data. If discs are in perfect condition and then either media are bad or there was a problem (unnoticed) during the backup process and it is unlikely that you will be able to recover the data.

  • Satellite C40D-C - problems with the system

I recently bought an a toshiba satellite C40D-C Series notebook PC as my old satellite - essentially - is dying. After you connect to the internet, I tried to download AVG Antivirus on my computer that I don't have - and never - trust McAfee anti-virus that comes with the computer. Every time downloaded AVG then restart my computer, the computer goes directly into the automatic repair system and doesn't let me do anything but to reset or restore. This has happened even with completely removed McAfee. I've been on AVG directly today (January 15), and they have to do remote set-up for me - with the same results. Yes, I'm aware that McAfee is a selfish cry of a system and refuses to acknowledge any other antivirus, but that this issue happens even with completely removed McAfee shows clearly that it is something that Toshiba has worked in the system. I can't even disable the automatic repair tool. I have to be stuck with a McAfee antivirus which, moreover, does not yet or is Toshiba will make an effort to help solve a problem they caused?

Why this computer isn't allowing AVG Antivirus work? And why, after each attempt to download AVG, the computer goes to auto repair whenever I shut down or restart? Is this a problem with the system or something, Toshiba has done on purpose?

This affects my McAfee Security turn off wall of fire etc virus checker and my old AVG appears again.

I inform McAfee they reset my firewall, auditor of viruses etc and all is well until I try a back up again.

When I go to change my setting or go back I always get back up to a failed.

But even I don't want not to my PC restores his car at an earlier date, putting me in a loop.

This affects my McAfee Security turn off wall of fire etc virus checker and my old AVG reappears.

    Hello

He would have had nothing AVG remaining before installing McAfee.

Having 2 programs Antivirus installed can cause blockages of the system and other weird problems with the system.

Use the AVG removal tool to remove the remnants of AVG:

  • New creation problem with Vista HP restore point

My laptop, a sony vaio VGN FE-890, developed all of a sudden a group of problems, slowdown, programs responds not, printer won, t etc load.

I'm doing a system restore but all my restore points went off the menu except for a restore at the present time and date. When I try to create a new restore point it will only ask for a name, and then creates a new restore with the date and the current time point. I need to restore to a week or more in the past. What I am doing wrong?

If you don't see more of 1 restore point, that's all you have. If each time that you create a new, the previous 'disappears' my first suspicion is that you don't have enough space allocated to store more than 1 restore point. This article tells you how to investigate your system restore benefits:

    http://blogs.TechRepublic.com.com/window-on-Windows/?p=1077&tag=nl.E132

This article is general information about the system restore:http://www.davescomputertips.com/newsletters/2010/101101.php

If this isn't the problem, the next thing I see is that you have some sort of automated process of 'cleaning up' configuration 'extra' restore points. This seems to be a remote possibility because most of the cleaning tools are not triggered by the creation of restore point, but I suppose it could be possible.

There are many utilties of freeware that make the management of restore points a little more friendly that the native windows tools, here is a link to one of them:

  • Error with XP system restore

I'm trying to do a full system on a Compaq Presario 6000 (6320US)
    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c00009596&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&product=213896

    Yes, it's an old computer, I know. : P

In any case, the problem is that I started the restoration process, got on the second CD and as soon as he tries to read it, I get an error that says: "4194304 0 f:\res256\banner.bmp.

Now I have already done a lot of research, and said all I think that this problem has already been brought to the top the same two things:
    (1) the cd may be dirty or damaged
    (2) the cd player doesn't work maybe not properly

1 seems unlikely given that the cd is Mint and about as clean and unharmed, as a cd can be. 2 seems a little more plausible given that I'm using a cd player, I installed after purchase (initial cd player no longer works) and make a system restore can be remove the drivers that allow it to operate. But if this is the case, why he would stop at the 2nd cd? I've seen other people with the same problem in the same exact step in the process, but nobody seems to never come back on the forum to say, "Yes that was the problem and here is how I fixed it."

Any help would be appreciated. I'm trying to get this computer working for room of my 10 years so he can do the job at home safely, and we both love for that to be resolved quickly.

    Hello JakCapan,

Have you involved HP/Compaq on this issue?

If we are unable to complete the restore to factory without problem, then there are two possibilities:

    1. There is a hardware problem.
    2. There is a problem with the recovery disk.

    Let us know.

    Best regards

  • How can I fix what's wrong with my system restore when it is 'failed' to restore of any "Restore Points?

Well, what is said.  I see all kinds of "restore points", highlighted in the restore calendar page.  But any day or I choose to restore point, the result is the same.  "Unsuccessful system restore" computer is returned to the...  (I don't know how they phrase it exactly, but the key is exactly the way it was when I started with optimism the restore process.)

What is your system brand and model?
What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..
What is the issue that you are experiencing that you think that the system restore will be remedied (or you are just convenient)?  System Restore is not a time machine.
Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly.
For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:
Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...
It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:
According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.
Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore.  Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore.  It works for some configurations.
System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore.  This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore.  You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore.
That can leave you with your problem of unspecified origin that you hope the system restore will fix (using a system restore is usually not equivalent to fixing the problem though).
Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.

Hello I'm a newbie here, but have some problems with BB Bold 9900 updated.

During the update alls datas were recorded as usual during restart the BB there's an error to come, means that BB lost its operating system. I used the tips here and somwhere else to restore successfully. Unfortunately the data stored during the update process have not restored, even if the file already exists on my PC.

The file is called LoaderBackup-(2013-09-26) .bbb - so almost similar to the usual backup file.

Hi, I have a laptop about a year ago. And for 5 months, I have a problem with the fans. Out and the following message is displayed:

WARNING: A problem with the cooling system has been detected. Please turn off the power immediately and return it for service.

The strange thing is that the first time that is spent stopped working a week, then a month and finally stopped working until 3 months there now will not start.
I have even the implied warranty of the product, but I didn't think to send because it takes virtually every week for classes. I can use it, but if I perform actions that require superior performance as playing the games or download several videos at the same time to start warming up, getting the message and if continuous closed finally down.
What should I do and how can I solve the problem?
