Satellite A660 - multimedia keys are disordered

Hi and sorry for my English

I have a Satellite A660 - 12th and recently after reinstalling windows and all the other drivers (VAP, HW, etc.), multimedia keys, are disordered, so the wireless open windows media, the Toshiba shorcut edge player on/off button on/off switch in the light of the buttons and the touchpad, switch off power switch the touchpad button and light button does nothing , volume +/-works very well. I try to reinstall the driver of the VAP, pilot HW and Flash driver cards and that do not resolve the problem, I also try to reinstall windows, still nothing.
If anyone can help me, save me, I can not turn on the Recent very frustrating wireless
Thank you

> I used Windows 7 Ultimate (no problems with it before)...
It's logical, because previously you used laptop with factory settings and proper installation.
Now, you use installation clean to the BONE and who knows how you installed all of the extra stuff.

In any case the question confuses me, in any case. I can understand that some buttons don t work due to lack of tools but I ve never seen that buttons behave messy. Which is really strange.

If you have the time and if you want to reinstall Win7 once again, we will send you the right installation order and you should try again.
What do you think about this?

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite A300 and it was turn mysteriously. After an inspection, I discovered that while the computer is totally off, if I press one of the multimedia keys (the other starting on the left) the books starts as if it had hit the power button.

This happens to you one of you? How can I stop this?

By the way, I installed windows 7, which I think has nothing to do because this happens with the laptop is turned off, but who knows.

    Thanks in advance.

I think it's normal, the than mine did the same thing.

When you press the Internet button, it will start Windows and start your browser.
When you press the media button, it boot Windows and start the Media Player.

I do not know how to turn it off, but it doesn't bother me anyway.

  • Satellite A660 - FN keys without function

Hi, once again its me :D

in any case, I noticed that FN + f keys do not work. I can't lock my computer with him, I just can't cut it with fn + esc, I can't adjust brightness with fn + f6, f7 and so on.

Any ideas what could be? Function of the lighted buttons work perfectly :) I ve see the thread where the settings button mad crazy go after you install VM workstation but I also solved this problem through your forum (thnx).

So no idea why the fn + f keys does not? What should I do?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi Sanka_2,

Yes, there is a solution here in the forum for the FN keys if you install VMware... As I remember you must change or delete some registry keys.

Anyway, FN keys are controlled by value added and Flash Cards Support utility package. In your case, I recommend the resettlement of these tools. This means remove older versions, restart the computer and install the latest versions of the official page of Toshiba.

  • Satellite A660-10W - what are the function keys?

I can't find in the manual what each of the fuction buttons are consistent with their signs.
(I refer to function between the two speakers; under the screen buttons).

    Thank you

    Hi Bedouins,

Just press each button step by step, so you can see what is happening: learning by doing! ;)

The soft keys from left to right

1 button Eco specifications will change in eco mode power management. In this mode, your mobile phone will save energy and brightness for example
2 button WLAN WLAN connectivity will be turned off or on
    3. programmable button as its name suggests, you it s softkey. Therefore, you must Support Button Toshiba which is preinstalled on your computer
    4. Play/Pause I think this says a lot
    5. the power button light can turn lighting on or off
    6 volume up/down

I hope I could help clarify this point. :)

  • Satellite A500: Multimedia keys do not work after Win 8 upgrade

    Hi everyone, I run Toshiba SATELLITE A500 - 1C0 (PSAR3E-01300WPL) with Windows 8 PRO x 64.

As I noticed - post factum /:-'Models supported' not supported for Windows 8 drivers of my PC.

Although, the computer will work perfectly, but I have a little problem with my drivers: the Panel at the top of the keyboard (http://goo.gl/IQVAG) works not only put on mute, volume up/down work, but the ECO button and media buttons are NOT - is there any method to upgrade the drivers so that I can use all the keys?

I installed TOSHIBA eco utility and it works fine, but the buttons do not respond. I can't find and update the driver/ulitity that is responsible for this issue.

I also want to ask if there is any chance to get the TOSHIBA for Win.8 drivers for my Satellite A PC series in the future. Y at - it a utility to analyze and automatically update TOSHIBA drivers? (but not Toshiba drivers Update Utility, which does not work in my case - it offers me to downgrade my drivers!)

I opened the Device Manager and tried to update the drivers manually, but - that's even BIGGER problem then eco Panel etc. - some devices are marked as "unknown devices" and may not be recognized at all.

    Thank you for your help,
    oddajlatarke

    > is there a method to upgrade the drivers so that I can use all the keys?

Method? Name is no other method as to try some tools to win 8 released for other series of laptop. The multimedia button requires installation of VAP (value package).
Check and test the VAP to win 8 released to win 8 supported notebook series.

    > I also want to ask if there is any chance to get the TOSHIBA for Win.8 drivers for my Satellite A PC series in the future.
As you said above; computer laptop isn t Win 8 supported model, so I doubt that you will get all the drivers Win 8 in the future.

First install the common Module. This should me installed initially.
Then, install the tool called controls.

  • Satellite C660 - USB keys are not mounted

I have a * Satellite C660 with Windows 7 64 bit *. When I conect a USB stick (2 GB LG or other), Windows install the new USB, but after a few seconds, the USB is disassemble and assemble and disassemble some indefinitely.

With my old * Toshiba Satellite M50, Windows XP * both sticks work very well.

    Hi mkobets,

Probably something wrong with USB ports or driver chipset so the glue work with your old Toshiba laptop USB

Means the simplest would update the chipset in my view driver that you can download here:

  • Qosmio F50 - 10K - multimedia keys are not lit

    According to my topic

    "" Qosmio F50 - 10K - replaced by Qosmio F60-126? ".
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=59934&TSTART=0

I had problems with my laptop, located at the Nvidia 9600 M GT graphics according to Toshiba service. They changed the graphics card with a new one today and so far everything is going very well and smooth. He collapsed again. Time will tell whether or not it returns to his old ways.

In any case, after I took up my F50 - 10K I noticed that the indicators for media buttons (Play / Pause, Stop, Dolby, etc) are not lit. The buttons work fine, but they are not on. All other indicators (the light bar on the touchpad, the volume light) and the power light work fine. There is a button to deactivate/activate the indicators, but it does not work for media indicators.

Before giving my laptop to the service of all the indicators were at work. Now, the indicators of media came out. No idea how to re-enable?

    Hi Jwrath,

I doubt s a hardware problem because they do not work properly and the lit / functions are controlled by added value package. In your case, I recommend reinstall Toshiba Value added Package from the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Remove the VAP, restart the computer and install the new VAP software.

In addition, check the BIOS. I don't know if there is an option for Mr. lighting if so, enable it and that s.
