    Hello

Unfortunately my drive is completely broken and I'm not able to start more. Is there a way to download data from the recovery partition somewhere?

My model: Satellite A660-16Z (Italian model)
    http://www.Toshiba.it/discontinued-p...Lite-A660-16Z/

    Operating system: Windows 7

Then, I tried to order on the web
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx
the recovery image, but after you insert the serial number, the web-system shows me the message:

For your device no way recovery can be ordered, because he is not from the area of Toshiba Europe, or he is too old for this service

    Thanks in advance
    Markus

The laptop is certainly European series so the only plausible reason why you can not order the recovery disk is: laptop is too old.
In this case, you can install only a clean Windows 7 system. The necessary drivers are available on the page of the Toshiba UE driver and could be installed after the installation of the system.

  • Satellite A660 - question of recovery of the system and Windows software

    Hi all

I recently bought a new Toshiba laptop and created a set of disks for backup use Toshiba Recovery media creator.
Now, this laptop is proved to be defective and was exchanged by another.
There was a slight difference in the software, what the faulty version was preloaded Office 2010 starter and the new Office 2007 trial 60 busy days.

As I have already created backup discs of the defective model (i.e. same spec/model number) can just recover the system using the device backup discs?

The reason why I want to do is that I prefer the Office 2010 Starter version (as opposed to the trial version). Software recovery disks that you create on this computer in particular connected serial number is or can I use them on the new machine to replace the identical specifications?

    Thank you

Generally you can use it if the two laptops have the same part number (model number PAxxxx).

Before that, you create an original DVD for the machine, you now have. If something goes wrong, you can use the original disc.

  • Satellite M70: Question on the recovery procedure

I have a problem with the saver of energy on my Satellite M70, whenever I start my toshiba it took about 10 minutes to start windows, then it displays an error message and it's really annoying.

I tried to reinstall the energy saver, but nothing has changed. I couldn't find a solution, so I decided to use the recovery CD. The problem is that I have very important files around 50 GB on my D: drive, and all system files are on the C: drive. It is really difficult to copy on DVD. then can I make recovery only to the C: drive?

If so, please give me a quick procedure.
Please answer as soon as possible and thanks in advance...

If you want to retrieve the OS with the recovery CD and will not lose the data and files on the D: partition if you must use the recovery expert procedure.
This expert mode allows you to choose the partition where the OS is to be installed.
In this case that the data on the C partition will be deleted.

  • Satellite A660 (PSAW3A-07U00R) - error recovery

MySatellite A660 i7 1.73GHz with Windows 7 now hang at startup. When I rebooted I get to start Windows in safe mode or run Startup Repair. The two option to hang on. I also sometimes get ERROR: F3-F100-0003.

I used my recovery disks (that I have used before with no problems), but on the first lap it hung on the creation of partitions. Now when I start I get no BIOS only 'BOOTMGR missing Press Alt Ctrl Del for restart. When I press I get a small bar flashing in the upper left corner and nothing else.

I got this 8 months ago from JB HiFi.

Nobody knows what could be wrong or a way to fix it?

    Hello

The BOOTMGR error message you get because recovery installation didn't finish properly. If no operating system is installed and the computer can't find Windows Boot Manager.

Either you get the broken record due recovery error message and so the files can t be read properly or it s hardware malfunction.

Way the easiest to check is to install Windows from a normal disk of Microsoft. If it works, it seems that the hardware is working correctly, but the recovery disc is the problem. All the drivers and tools you need after installing Windows can be downloaded on the site Web of Toshiba.

But if you want a new recovery disk, you can order it here:

  • Satellite A660 - 14L - TV Tuner / TV-software

    Hello

first of all, sorry for my bad English...

Last week, I bought my 660 Satellite - 14L. I Replayced the original HDD with a SSD and installed a fresh Win7. Everything works fine, but I can't get the hybrid TV tuner to run.
In the device manager card TV has been installed correctly, but I see no TV picture. I tried Winwos media center and a few other search software, google, but I tried all the software won't show me any TV Programm/image. For example: Windows Media Center runs a channel search, but no TV Signal has been found. the notebook-documentary says, no external antenna is necessary. But I have tried with and without external antenna. But nothing happens after the channel search.
Then I tried to use the original HARD drive with pre-installed software Toshiba... but also the same thing... no TV signal.

What am I wrong? Can someone help me or give me a hint, this software works very well with internal Toshiba TV hybrid Tuner. I live in Germany and I use DVB - T.
Thanks for the help and thanks for reading my bad English.

    regrads kindly
    Olli

Are you sure signal, DVB - T is available in your area where you live?

  • Re: Satellite P200 - question about the recovery part

I have a Satellite P200 and a recovery disk. I don't want to use this as it clears my disk clean C: and E: which has all my data on it.

Is there a restore button to factory settings which affects the C: drive and let E: in tact? I thought I read somewhere that there was.

    Hello

If you have the Satellite P200, something like this is not possible. Unfortunately, before the recovery procedure starts the disk HARD integer will be deleted (formatted). Before you begin recovery procedure back up all your important data to an external device, or burn it to DVD-R/RW support.

  • Satellite A660 - Question about hidden partition

Recently my shore hardd crashed and he had to be replaced. Then, I used my recovery media to restore. But now when I go into Disk Management displays 3 partitions. (previously it was 2 I think - in the old HDD)

    DISK 0

Partition-1 1.46 GB Active recovery) hidden
    Partition-2 580 active GB (drive c)
partition-3 12.5 GB Active (HIdden) (know toshiba recovery thing is here)

Does anyone know if I can delete the first partition and have just two?-only 15 MB/1.45 GB is used I can resize?
I present the same for everyone or is it just me?

    Thank you very much

    William

    Hi wsb123,

    (> Partition-1 1.46 GB Active recovery) hidden
It's the Windows recovery environment partition. On this HARD drive are for the repair of the system files if Windows can start t more. It s a Windows feature and has nothing to do with Toshiba. This partition, you can find on all installations of Windows 7.
    -Online http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Recovery_Environment

    > Partition-2 580 active GB (drive c)
With other words, the primary partition because on it a Windows is installed with all your files. Nothing unusual ;)

    > partition-3 12.5 GB Active (HIdden) (know toshiba recovery thing is here)
As you have already written s the Toshiba Recovery for file recovery partition.

So I t understand the problem. Everything is normal, and if you install Windows recovery disk you have at least 3 partitions.

  • Satellite A660 - 11 M - drive HARD recovery is not possible

    Hello.

I bought the satellite A660 - 11 M two months ago. A week before, he started to cause a problem that when turned on, boot HARD drive is not possible in the first place and boot priority option page is shown. Only after that I have reset a start command, it started.

To resolve this issue for good, I decided to format the HARD drive using the HDD recovery procedure. Unfortunately, I had to cancel this procedure after 2 minutes, and the start-up is not possible at all since then. He continues to display the message "Boot failure" etc. and staging to the BIOS screen. So, I can not access the recovery procedure even if I keep the F8 key. I am afraid that a recovery on the HARD drive partition can have been damaged due to the forced cancellation.

I have not created a DVD of my own laptop recovery, and the only option seems to buy one from Toshiba (https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx). Before you order a recovery disc, I would ask if my problem can be solved using the disc. Anyone who has experience with the recovery disc could advise me? Another question is to know if a standard warranty let me send to Toshiba ASP? Thank you for reading.

    Hello

    > Another question is to know if a standard warranty let me send to Toshiba ASP?
    Warranty only covers hardware issues.

Question you seems to be related to a software problem.
Therefore, I doubt that installation of the OS would be covered by the warranty.
You should order the recovery disk and must attempt to define the notebook back to factory settings.
Then you should check the features of the laptop.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A660 - custom install from the recovery disk

I like my windows costs. I do not have programs that I don't really need. I tried to uninstall some of them, but they always leave unexpected pieces behind them. So is there a way to stop the factory reset on A660 before installing drivers and other software. So I can install the readers updated and the programs I want to.

I noticed that I can leave the program that installs Windows regarding the Office when using ctrl-alt-delete. Thing is that it will start again once the computer restarts then I have to remove this program from loading at the beginning upward. Can anyone share ideas?

I would be really nice if Toshiba allows us to decide what kind of programs that we have in our computer.

    Satellite A660 97u model. Windows 7.

    Hey,.

I put t think its bloatware. It s tools can you FN keys, webcam, etc. Laptop with a lot of material requires a lot of drivers and software. In addition, you also get a large number of tools that makes computing easier, like Toshiba Bulletin Board software, burning, etc.
If you remove it n don't like this software, but it s kind of Toshiba to deliver these software with laptops.

But to answer your question: custom installation is not possible because the recovery disk contains a ready image of factory settings, no single file.
This is why you must use a Microsoft disc.

  • Re: Need recovery to the Satellite A660-148 image

    Hello

I want to download the restore DVD Toshiba Satellite A660-148, and I format the HARD drive recovery partition. Please, help me to restore my laptop to factory original state!
its first operating system installed! Inovation TOSHIBA...

    Hello tarek

Recovery image can not be downloaded. You must create it on your own using preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

If you have formatted the recovery partition, it is impossible to create more. Now you have to buy the original DVD of recovery under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Satellite A660: Comment and a question about button lighting / mute

    Note:

Hi, I'm the proud owner of a satellite A660-166 (3 days) and I installed everything from scratch on the win 7 pro because I got my laptop with a home (need pro for work) version... I met some problems, but this forum really answered my questions :) Never found such a useful for technical support forum. I wanted to express my gratitude and my support for everything you do for users :)

Problem: well, this isn't really a problem, more a curiosity... I had a few problems with the key eco, at this time there button lighting / mute was to mute... Thank you guys, I found out what needed to be done, I reinstalled the Flash card software and everything worked properly more the lighting button / mute has been for enlightenment now. I have nothing against that, I prefer it like this, but I wonder how to change that... I found some response on the use of toshiba wireless Assistant and the illumination tab... Because my laptop is fairly new, that I do not have a tab of enlightenment, I was wondering how to change the mute button if I want to?

Thanks, keep up the good work!

It's nice to hear that you found answers to your questions here. Many people here trying to help.

Back to your question: it is not easy to give a precise answer and I really put t know if you can change the settings of a single button. I think it has something to do with the registry entries, but how to change, that's another question.

If you use this button for lighting ON / OFF, you can use FN + ESC for the mute button so you have two options that can be used with a touch or quick key combination.
Can you please test and confirm that it works correctly?

  • How to install Windows without recovery disc - Satellite A660 with new HARD drive

    Hey,.

Portable 500 GB HDD of my friend Toshiba Satellite A660 seems to have died.
I tied him to my laptop on a sata dock and runs a data recovery program because nothing has been saved. The recovery takes forever, however, and she really needs his computer to work.

Because the hard disk may be damaged in any case, I am considering buying a new hard drive and install in the Toshiba.

How can I do this without a recovery disk, though?
The old drive was a partition recovery on it, I think, but this seems useless with a new drive.
Operating system is Windows 7 64 bit home edition.

The product key is on the bottom of the laptop.
I live in Turkey and so I don't think there is a Toshiba store is close.
There are individual computer stores, so I'm confident, I can buy a new internal hard drive (I could find the sata dock here), but he must know what to do to install the software, etc.

    Thank you!
    Chris

    > How can I do this without a recovery disk, though?

You either have the recovery disk or you are going to install the system using the Microsoft Windows disk.
The necessary drivers are in internet on Toshiba UE page.

The recovery disc can also be ordered here:

  • Re: Several questions about the recovery of the Satellite L750 features

I have several questions about the recovery of Satellite L750 features available to it. Any help and answers would be useful.

    (1) when I started the laptop first, he asked me to create a recovery CD incase I need to reinstall the operating system. But he also said that he built in the recovery partition, so therefore, I have to make a recovery cd or not?

    (2) will be the recovery CD is exactly the same as the recovery on the system partition?

    (3) is the partion of CD or recovery includes all the integrated software pre-installed with the laptop?

    (4) also in the device manage management it shows watch partion recovery but it is empty, is it true?

    (5) in the second partition (drive D) system, he has a record with what looks like the recovery of files and folders. Is it safe to move/remove it?

    Hello

    I'll try to provide answers:
1 - to ensure that everything works perfectly you don t need these discs, but if something goes wrong with the HARD drive you will not be able to do anything. When you have the recovery DVDs, you will still be able to install the recovery image and once again the factory settings. So my advice to you is: create these discs as soon as possible. Use only on DVD-R media and buy products of high quality (TDK or Verbatim).
    2 - Yes.
    3 - Yes.
4 - No. Don t be confused with this.
    5. in a first time create restore DVD, and later you can do what you want. I put t know which files mean you but don t touch anything before that of the recovery disks to be created.

In the past, many people have been experimenting with the structure of HARD drive and partitions and later was surprised when installing disk recovery HARD has been damaged. Don t make the same mistake.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Satellite A660 crashes during games and recovery

I have problem with my Toshiba Satellite A660. Sometimes when I play it freezes and I can't even move the pointer that all freeze them then I have to stop with force.
Once it freezes during a restore and that what do me worried about would be a secondary problem (amount of money).
I tried to take it to one that he calls himself a Toshiba service company and they told me that the problem is solved, but he didn't.

So I hope that everything would be help me I m in a bad situation here.

    Hello

I understand your situation but to be honest, I put t know how to help you.
I put t know what that solved the service and what they did with your laptop, but what you can do is to install the OS by using the recovery image (on DVD or HARD drive) and to monitor closely what will happen in the future.

While gaming, don't forget your laptop is placed on the desk and the cooling fans should not be stuck with a few Pater, books or anything else. before you start the game go portable high performance power plan and check that cooling in this plan of the power method is set to the maximum level.
