Satellite C50 - A - 1 7 - battery stopped charging

My C50 is a battery problem. A few weeks, it stopped charging. He began to load (as seen on the windows startup icon) slowly to 61% then zipped to 100%. But since then, the computer does not work on battery power. The charging light does not illuminate (, but has then before). Because all intends and purposes, it seems that there is no battery present, except that the software (windows and toshiba help stuff) insists it is a fully charged battery.

Now, it's probably a defective battery or connector, but to avoid going to the shop unnecessarily, I would check if there is an update of the bios available. Since it is a relatively new, maybe not, but the toshiba site is not the clearest. Anyway I couldn't find any update of the bios on the pages for Satellite C50 - A - 1 7.
My bios is currently 1.20 with EC version 1.00

TNX

To be honest I don't think that the BIOS update can be the solution for this. Anyway, you can check what version of BIOS is available on the download page for BIOS - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_bios.jsp

I'm afraid, you must contact the nearest Toshiba service Mr. they have special tools and can check the operation of the equipment.

My battery stopped charging. For four days, the power button says "59% available (plugged in, does not support)."

How can I get the computer to start the battery again?

The battery is probably faulty. You can say as follows:

    1. Shut down Windows.
    2. Remove the battery.
    3. Wait an hour.
    4. The power supply is cold? If Yes, then the laptop consumes no power (which is normal).
    5. Insert the battery.
    6. Wait an hour.
    7. The power supply is hot? If so, the battery is recharged.
    8. Start normally and check the charge level. If she's still around 59% while the battery no longer accepts the full load. You need to replace it.
  • Satellite A30: when the adapter is connected the battery stops charging

So he can load either, I have to turn the machine off (completely or to hibernate) then remove the power cable and reintegrate them, then the battery light turns on. When restart the battery will begin charging for a while, and then for no apparent reason in defence start.

If left reaches 0% battery - the machine continues to operate when the power cable is connected so its power do ok, but of course starts to beep when it goes below 10%. To get it going again, I need to stop and restart etc.

I have checked the bios and have the latest version.

I cleaned around the outlet heat exchanger and deleted all the fluff.

I use a generic adapter that the original does not, but as far as I can tell its working normally.

    Hi Richard,

Your problem is caused by a bad connection where the power adapter is connected to the Jack at the back of your laptop. A slight movement of the cable causes a momentary loss of contact and electronics of management power in Notepad is deceived into beleiving that the battery is no longer available, in which case when the battery goes out and the laptop will return to the battery power even if the AC adapter is connected. As you have already discovered, turn off the laptop will be all back to normal.

I have experienced the same situation with my A30-141 and have not yet found one solution other than to resort to power off the laptop computer, but I managed to avoid the problem occurs by pinching the cable ca at the back of the laptop so that there is no risk of power do not connect the bending in order to trigger the problem in the first place. This has been a remarkable success to date, and I didn't have a problem for several months now.

Obviously, it is not a "cure" for the problem but the frustration it causes.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite P30-130: battery stops charging

Problem with my power/charge on my laptop.

Intermittently, when you use the AC adapter to charge the battery, the battery may charge for a time (with bright amber LED) and then (after no moment) the amber light will come out and stop loading. When this happens looking at the battery icon in the desktop tray shows the laptop running on battery power, even if power supply is still attached.

Move the power AC jack in the back of the laptop making makes no difference. It's almost as if the laptop is not recognizing that the AC adapter / CC is there.

To add to the confusion, if I use Notepad on the only current (ie remove the battery completely), the power to randomly stop. It is also intermittent and occurs even if the laptop is not in use.

I checked the power meter settings, and I have the drivers for toshiba utilities to save energy. I also replaced the power supply and the battery.

    Any ideas?

    Hello Chris

All that you have done is just but the next step is to control the electronic power to the motherboard. Problem is that you can not do it alone, and it must be done by technicians.

Please contact the customer Service of your country partner and explain the situation. They have the equipment to control the electronic food placed on the motherboard.

  • Satellite C50-B-19V - RTC battery low

    Hi all

    I ask your help.

    I have 15-inch Toshiba Satellite C50-B-19V laptop.
    It is 2 years old.

I get RTC battery low message the laptop turned OFF for awhile (without adapter).
When I turn it on, I have to re - set the Date and time in the BIOS.

So I fully recharge via an adapter, and every time I put it to sleep the clock stops just when I put on standby.
So if I put for example standby at 10:00 on March 2, 2016, and I turn it on at 12:00 on March 2, 2016, the clock says 10:00 and March 2, 2016 (the date is not lost).

Laptop works well when on battery (without adapter).
I have WIN 8 is installed.

RTC battery low message is displayed after the laptop is off (no adapter) for a while... (a few days).

Above mentioned laptop is NOT a pile of separate clock when back cover is removed (no battery is visible on the motherboard)...

What to do in this case?

    Waiting for your response.
    Thank you very much!
    Ivan

I would say that the RTC is low and that maybe it's the other side of the motherboard. Find and download the manual for your machine. All PCs have batteries for the CCF and to keep some of the BIOS settings. If it is not under an agreement of service of any kind, take it to a technician, you trust and let check. Otherwise repair by the company with which you have permission. The battery will be there somewhere. They can be painted, I saw that with some motherboards desktop.

  • Satellite C50-A-19 t - battery of 'bad' health

I only got my Satellite C50-A-19 t 4 months and today I received a notice saying that my battery is now the health "poor." Is it possible to fix this problem and can I do this?

I'm still a free warranty of 1 year comes with the laptop.

    Hello

In General, the battery is part of the laptop and covered by the standard warranty of s for laptop.
In case the battery is faulty, you can contact the maintainer authorized Toshiba to repair/replace the defective part. This should be done free of charge if its guarantee covers the case.

But before you contact the ASP in your country, try to calibrate the battery.
To calibrate the battery, you must load and unload the battery until it s completely empty. This procedure should be repeated two, three times in the line.

If it helps, fine, if not-> to get in touch with service agents.

    Greetings mate.

There are several discussions in this forum about these problems.  For some computers, the cause is an incorrect setting on the usefulness of a PC manufacturer who aims to protect the battery life by limiting the load periods.

  • Satellite P15 - if the plug comes out, the battery stops charging

My Toshiba is rather annoying. I hope there is a solution to this and it is not integrated in the computer by braindead materials developers.

My battery is toast. For a long time. I find the computer works very well if the power cable is in. If she comes out, the battery has usually about a minute and a half of her life. However, what makes me shit off the coast, it is that the battery does not load again. He will sit and drain his power to zero, even with cable connected sector, if the plug is disconnected even for a millisecond. The only way to load it again, is to shut off the computer and start upward.

    What the hell?

    Hi floydien,

Wow, Satellite P15 is really an oldie.

I m not an expert, but to me this looks like a battery or motherboard problem. A battery can be recharged about 500 times and after that it will lose a lot of power. This means that you can work a few minutes only on battery mode.

In your case, I'll try a new battery. If it doesn t work I think you need a new mainboard.
Also take a look on eBay. There you can get second hand cheap parts sometimes.

  • Satellite P200 - 17 c PSPB6E - battery and charger delivers

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone can help.

I had my laptop Satellite P200 - 17 c PSPB6E for about 2 years. For the last 6 months the battery and the AC adapter have been gradually getting worse.

The adapter is now very loose and I need to hold it with one hand while using the laptop. The same battery with the AC charger in place does not increase (it shows 0% available plugged in, load). If the AC adapter slips, the laptop is dead and I need to recharge.

Essentially, it seems the only thing keeping the laptop on, is the adapter (which itself is very loose).

I need to know whether a battery or a problem with the AC adapter. I had only the laptop for a short period and would not have expected problems early.

    Thank you

    Baker

    Hello

In my opinion, that your laptop is quite old (2 years) and these things can happen, mate.

But I think you need new batteries and AC adapter or motherboard. If the battery doesn't charge with adapter connected the case is clear: the battery is faulty because she will not be charged.

Regarding the connection of the adapter problem AC/DC it's hard to say because theoretically, it could also be a problem with the socket on the motherboard. This is why you should ask a technician for laptop. The technician can tell you what the problem is.

    Welcome them

  • Buttons and satellite C50-B-189 touchpad has stopped working

my daughter received the foregoing, f. Christmas. the touchpad and associated buttons have stopped working -no cursor. How do we get working again? Stem +.

Hi, this is due to the pad (which is buggy), just kill the process by using CTRL + SHIFT + ESC AND THE TAB more DOWN to navigate through the process target. I do it every start.

    Of tomsguide (November 2014):

These patches do not help, all that happens is, after a while, the touchpad fails again. While Toshiba works on this point, I found a quick and effective solution. That's my new Windows 8 Toshiba.
Press CTRL ALT SHIFT to get your process to come. Find the Touchpad "enhancer" process. Complete the process. Your touchpad works until the next reboot, how simply repeat this step.
If you're struggling complete the process without being able to use your touchpad, I discovered a curious thing. If you hold a mouse click, you can move the arrow of the mouse with the touchpad very well. Its a bit... awkward... but all you have to do that is to end this process and after that, you can use the trackpad normally.

  • Satellite C50-A560 - right-click suddenly stopped working

    So Hey all,.

I was watching a movie on my laptop 2 days ago, but all of a sudden the right click doesn't work anymore! I tried to reinstall the driver and it worked for a little bit but it kept spamming the right click menu.

But now it doesn't work at all. Why did this happened?

It is not easy to explain what the problem is here.
On the first try, please to test the functionality of touchpad in general. If your computer uses a Synaptics software please open it and change the options for touchpad left and right button, just to see if something will change.

In the end, I have to ask if everything else, except the right touchpad button, works correctly?

  • Tecra A3 battery stops the charge after a second or two

    Hello

I used the computer without the battery for a long time. Now, when I try to use the battery it is completely empty (it shows 0% º capacity).

It starts to load when it is plugged in, but after a second or two, he stops, so it keeps the ability to 0%.

The problem of any ideas of what can be?
    Thank you

    Hello

Are you sure the battery stops charging to 100%?
How have you checked it? What is the status of the battery LED?

If you plug the battery of the laptop must be turned off.
In addition, the charge process takes several hours if the battery is empty.
I think you should connect the AC to the laptop and several waiting time.

But if the battery will not charge, either the battery is dead or the portable electronic malfunctions.

That would mean he is no longer and maintain a charge and must be replaced as you observed when the power plug has been removed to it dies immediately. Look at the battery is must have a part number and card operating then go to eBay and those numbers of entry and a battery match should come up to otherwise you will have to go to the order of HP and find the battery it and order one it. So your options are now 2 years they battery probably has run its life expectancy and must be replaced.

  • Computer laptop battery "in charge" but stuck at 0%

    Hello

I have a G6-1b79ca Pavilion and the battery stopped charging.

Windows show "Plugged in, load" and level to remain at 0%. Forever.

Of course it is now completely empty.

If I remove the CC of the computer plug, turn it off immediately.

Here's what I did so far, more or less in that order:

    1. replace the battery (recommended by the logon page BIOS...)

    2 tried this popular patch:

Stop-> remove battery and power cord-> hold down the button "POWER" 30 sec-> power supply DC-> Boot->-> battery-> uninstall Microsoft ACPI-Complient control method battery -> Shutdown-> put the battery in the Device Manager (cannot start on him alone because it does not... but maybe that might help)-> start the computer

    3. updated all the drivers and reinstalled all the HP utility (got the Intel drivers on the Intel site)

    4. I updated the BIOS with the latest version and reset to default settings

5 tested the power supply with a multimeter (Psu unloaded, sleeve ground referenced outside it read 19.8V = internal plug, 18V centering PIN)

6 replace the motherboard (which has already been replaced)

    7. replace the power supply

    8 reinstalled Windows

9 weld the power directly to the motherboard adapter in order to bypass the connections all contacts (cut the CC Plug and soldered the bare wires directly on the pcb)

The utility HP BIOS (F2 on startup) told me that the new battery fails the test and must be replaced. Awesome.

The battery in the utility test assistant (run in Windows) HP tells me that the battery is OK, but would need to be loaded (Seriously? It becomes funny...)

So basically the material is new.

Utility Windows/HP tells me that the battery is OK, but the BIOS utility will tell me to replace it.

    What the hell is happening?

The material is supposed to be (entirely replaced) A1 and windows were completely reinstalled.

Any suggestion? My beginning of sanity to fade...

On a side note, here is the situation that I hope not occurred:

    1. the original battery has failed

    2. he burned the motherboard charging circuit

    3. I replaced the battery then damaged mother burned load circuit card

    4. I finally replaced the motherboard that was damaged by the new battery, which was damaged by the previous motherboard, which was damaged by the original battery...

5 return to square one, hundreds of $ less and a lot of time to lose...

I can't buy ANOTHER motherboard/battery combo without going crazy...

    Thanks for any help!

    HE IS ALIVE! Lolll!

The problem is the new battery, I don't know why, but it was completely empty and never had to charge.

I ask the seller to replace and load a new a bit so I was able to start on battery only.

I removed the power supply and the battery, which held the POWER button / 30 sec and started on the battery alone.

Once in Windows I pluged the charger and now it is fully charged!

Looks like the key here is to be able to start on battery alone. one thing I could never reach while struggling with that drained.

This thread of hope help someone solve battery problems, because there are MANY possible solutions.

Thanks to those who have taken their time to help!

  • Question on Satellite C50-B919 battery charging

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite C50-B919, I bought 9 months ago... IT was working fine but all of a sudden it stopped working without the charger is plugged in!

I need to plug the charger all the time!

At the start, it shows that the RTC is low and I need to set the time... I tried to follow the instructions and set the time as well... but it has not yet changed something... once the charger is taken off, it turns off!

    Help, please!

    Waiting for your answer!

    Hello

RTC battery seems to be empty, and that's why the BIOS data and time will be reset always when connected the isn t AC adapter.
The RTC battery, you have to keep the power adapter plugged in for about 18 to 20 hours and the laptop must be turned on!
Then the RTC battery would charge.

However, the main battery seems to be empty too and does it not charge more.
You will probably need to replace the main battery.
