Satellite-C55-A-1NU - upgrade of RAM and SSD upgrade information

I have a Toshiba Satellite C55-A-1NU and I want to know if it is possible to replace the optical drive with an SSD? Can someone tell me what I need to do? What type of rack and SSD should I buy. Thank you

I also want to improve the ram memory, the laptop has only 1 slot 4 GB ddr3 1600 mhz, but is single channel. Which model should I buy to work in dual channel I use cpu-z to identify the model and it shows me hmt451s6mfr8a do I need exactly this or I can put another ty of manufacturing 2.

This upgrade with SSD is not supported by Toshiba, so everything you do is at your risk. Check this forum please. If I m remembering although some people have already posted own experiences.
I think that in most cases they ordered this caddy HDD/SSD but the drive was not recognized at all.

In my opinion, you must perform these updates.

RAM
Up to 16 GB of RAM according to specification for laptop, you can put on level and on the lower part under the cover of memory, you should find two memory locations. How to change RAM is described in s. manuals check please page 72.

The memory modules are compatible RAM for your laptop model:
4 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M4G
8 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M8G

They have good tools to find compatible parts for your Mac models.  The OWC took is here

    http://eShop.MacSales.com/MyOWC/

OWC tends to have the most detailed information on the Mac.  If I look to the top of the part to OWC and review specifications.  OWC offers often information based on the Mac-specific tests.  If Crucial offer something similar for a substantially lower price, buy it from Crucial.  I'm sure they have a refund is not political, if a part they say is compatible.  I bought the RAM and SSD both Crucial and OWC.  From my experience, be it high quality.

For the 2010 iMac, OWC also offers a "kit" (with the tools and support) to replace the hard drive of 3.5 inches with a 2.5-inch SSD.  Eventually, if it's a 27-inch iMac, I think that you can Add the SSD instead of replace the hard drive.  And they have self-produced how-to videos on the process, related to many of their lists of products.  OWC provides a lot of information with added value and service for Mac users.

OWC also offers kits to replace the optical drive on some Macs (including MacBooks) with an SSD (as a secondary internal drive).

  • HP Pavilion dv6-2120tx: HP Pavilion dv6-2120tx RAM and SSD UPGRADE

    HI guys,.

I want to improve my ram from 4 GB to 8 GB or 16 and my 500 GB HDD 120 GB SSD.
The problem is that I'm not sure what RAM and SSD is compatible.

    My current features are:
    CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT
    Intel Core i5 430M at 2.27 GHz
    Technology of 32nm Arrandale
    RAM
    4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 532 MHz (7-7-7-20)
    Motherboard
    Hewlett-Packard 3659 (CPU)
    Graphics
    Monitor generic PnP (1366x768@60Hz)
1024MB NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M (HP)
    Storage
    465 GB Hitachi HTS725050A9A364 (SATA)
1 GB JMCR SD/MMC SCSI Disk Device (NULL)
    I think about Corsair 8 GB DDR3 - 1333 MHz (CMSO8GX3M1A1333C9) for ram,
and Adata first Pro sp310 128 GB SSD.
They will be compatible with my laptop? If not, what are those who do you suggest?
    Thanks in advance.
    Any help is very appreciated!

It will take 8 gigs. It is aka PC3-8500 SO-DIMM DDR3-1066 and is the part specified in the Manual:

    The modules, PC3 memory, 1066 MHz FSB 4096 MB 579156-001 ■

    http://www.Amazon.com/2x4GB-DDR3-SODIMM-PC3-8500-memory/DP/B00E0TIQWQ/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&QID=1464985698&SR=8-4&keywords=PC3-8500+so-DIMM

The memory you chose will likely work, but sometimes the fastest memory will not downclock and laptop computers HP certainly prefer low density memory, 8 blocks on each side not 4.

The SSD that you selected will be OK, but I encourage you to spring for at least a 240 GB model. 128 GB is a bit of containment in the current environment and SSD prices are low, as is the memory. Never been a better time to upgrade. I just took a 240 on eBay, major brands, for $56 shipped.

  • T400 Rams and ssd compatibility

    Hi all

I'm planing to upgrade the ram and the hard drive of my computer laptop lenovo t400.

Could u pls help me to know what is the only compatible with lenovo t400 ram and ssd?

Note: I tried to upgrade the ram for lenovo t400 with bus 1333 pc-10600 but that does not .

    Kindly advice.

    Concerning

RAM = 1066 mhz 204-pin SODIMM DDR3 (although faster ram is also possible, so 1333 mhz and 1666 mhz DDR3 is also correct). But don't use Corsair ram to avoid problems of incompatibility.

SSD = SATAII (although SATAIII is also backward compatible), 2.5-inch, 9.5/7 mm thick discs.

  • RAM and SSD for my new Acer Aspire R7 752-5893

Suggestions for the type of RAM and SSD memory for my new Acer Aspire R7 752-5893? TX in advance.

You will need RAM SO-DIMM 204 format pins for your laptop. DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800, also known as) should work a treat.

Your SSD should have an MSATA interface, so depending on what is here right now, you can place in a Plextor M6M disc.

There are a few live hidden on the chassis of R7 - you can take a look here and see how to open it, and then you will know what players and the RAM slots you have available.

    Dear friends,

I am owner of a Toshiba Satellite C55 - 1 H 9 and I want to update it's ram. The problem is that I can not understand how to remove the rear panel. As I saw on the videos I twisted the screws then just tried to remove the Panel gently, but it hard stucked into it. I have already broken a "plastic-tooth" so I don't want to force it.

There is nothing of in the manual and I can't find any good video. It must be easy, if I know the way, so I would not pay for the services such trifle. If someone could help me I would be very grateful.

    Hello Szabot

Please be careful when you try to delete parts or lids on your own. In s user guides document explains how you can remove the cover of RAM. Check it please on page 134.

In any case, follow these steps:
Lose 1 captive screws on the main door.
Lift the front door through the cavity of a finger from the bottom of the case
Lift the main door from left to right until five locks down starting from the case (four of them are placed around the small air grille).
Lift the door up and down and remove it.

I hope that you will be able to remove this plastic successfully.

    Good luck.

  • Satellite C55-A-1N2 - Windows is broken and without access to the repair option

    Hello

One of my friends had a Satellite C55-A-1N2 nine November 2013 with windows 8.1.
    The serial number is: yd344983s

Initially, there was a problem with wifi.
I found a lot of adware...

I have uninstall most of them by hand and clean everything with adwcleaner.
The laptop works very well, I cut the DNS client service and add anti-pupsadware in the hosts file to prevent any new installation of adware.

Everything was ok and give again to a friend.
But the new commissioning, windows was slow, unable to connect wifi, enter in the config panel, do anything actually.

I tried according to manual, press F8 and power, but who turns just to log on windows.
I also tried F12 and tried to use the CD of windows 7 without success.

You have ideas of what I can do?
    This looks pretty bad.
    Thank you.

    Mickael
    France.

If you want to restart the laptop and use the repair options or recovery, you must perform the complete closure. How to do that you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm
Reboot the laptop and if you want to use the repair options or recovery check it please the instructions on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2A03ES0000R01.htm

PLESE NOTE: do not do some experiences before you have created a recovery media. Use the preinstalled recovery media creator tool and create recovery DVDs or USB.
If there is a problem, you can use this recovery media to reinstall the original version of Windows.

I want to upgrade RAM and HDD (SSD) in my computer laptop HP Pavilion 15-p045TX, please answer my money issues:

I have a 64 Bit Windows 10 installed on my laptop.

    Associated with RAM-

    (1) I have 2 RAM slots, 1 is used with ADATA 8 GB of RAM, which is the maximum limit of RAM that I can use in my second slot (8/16)?

    (2) is it expandable to Rams 2 * 16 GB (32 GB total)?

    Thank you

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See page 3 of the memory card. It is said 12 GB is the maximum, but we know from experience, you can install 2 x 8 GB in total 16 concerts. No 32 GB. It must be low voltage, and if you already have a single module of 8 GB you want to duplicate its specifications. If it has 8 black blocks on the side, you need to get a module like this.

It is not easy to work on this system. You must remove the top cover to get to the hard drive Bay and remove the motherboard to add RAM. See p. 105 and 116.

Module of memory of 8 GB 693374-005

There's a 16 gig module listed, but it is for AMD laptops with a single location and will not work on your motherboard, even if you could find it.

    https://www.Amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-1600MHz-PC3-12800-KVR16LS11/DP/B00CQ35HBQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1475841671 & SR = 8-1 & Keywords = 693374-005

You can install a type SATA 2.5-inch 1 TB SSD. There is no definitive list brands supported. People sometimes have problems with some specific SSD as some determinative seem to cause problems, but the Evo to Samsung 850 is a good choice with a record few if any questions.

The computer does not know if she is running only Windows or Linux and the RAM or the SSD works with Linux or Windows, or in dual boot. The Linux kernels current used in the current distributions like Ubuntu 16.04 SSD handle very well with a maximum return.

    Post back with more questions.

  • Satellite R630-155 - fan is too loud and SSD update

I am the owner of a Toshiba Satellite R630-155 (Core i5-480). My problems are:

    1. the fan is too loud and never stops. In normal operation (navigation and General Office work) there is a constant high pitch noise which is audible three to four meters in a desktop - high load environment, you just can't take it anymore! The fan never stops... even when you do nothing...

    2. the heat is a big problem. The bottom of the laptop is overheated constantly and I have to place on my desk so that the lower left corner is outside the table, so it can breathe fresh air from below - otherwise, the temperature rises and the (noisy) fan is unable to follow. When I work with the laptop sitting on a couch, I place a thick book between the laptop and my legs. The book must be thick (more than one inch) with hard covers, otherwise the heat going through the book!

    3. last (but not least, I will mention the biggest problems here) that's the problem with the installation of the SSD. I bought a used Corsair F80 (80 GB SSD) from a friend, but I was unable to use it with the Toshiba - BIOS not detect the disc. I tried to install all the latest updates for portable and SSDS but I had no success. Then I put the disc and I bought a brand new Zalman 128 GB SSD (SSD0128N1 Sandforce) but I had exactly the same problem. I contacted my local support Toshiba and after much conversation, the only answer I got is that the laptop is not compatible with these SSDS, and it is acceptable by Toshiba and not their problem. They told me that if I need an SSD upgrade I cannot go for the Toshiba SSD that is installed on the portege series, which is sold by Toshiba for a ridiculously expensive price - about $500 for 128 GB. I contacted the European support center and I got the same exact answer. I searched the Internet and found someone else with exactly the same problem with a Corsair 128 GB SSD - he concluded that the laptop detects the SSD after ten to twenty resets. I tried and it was true - after a lot of restarts the detected disk Zalman laptop and I was able to successfully install Windows 7, but the process is unacceptable. Also the drive is rated by the sites official at the speed of an OCZ Vertex 2 128 GB (and a little better), but when I ran a cue point in the Toshiba, the results I got were less than half of the advertised speed. Same reference in another machine of the same disc, resulted in the announced speeds.

Shame for Toshiba...-beautiful design and portability, but all the rest is a big flaw. Their support in non-existent and they do not appreciate their customers. According to me, they stole my money and I will never buy a Toshiba laptop again.

Sorry for the big message, but I need, I warn potential customers. Can anyone help me with any of these problems? You also have the same problems?

    To follow...

    Hey Buddy,

With regard to the issue of fan and the heat: you did it BIOS update? A friend told Satellite R630 too and he told me that the fan with the new BIOS version 2.10 activity is reduced. In addition, the laptop is colder than before so I recommend to install this update. You can download the update of the BIOS here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

But before you start the update of the BIOS, you should consider the following tips:
-Run update as an administrator only
-Unzip all files from zip archive before launching the update file
-Close all running programs as the antivirus and firewall
-Make sure the battery is fully charged

With regard to the SSD it s still a little complicated to install 3rd party products and no one can guarantee that these parts would not work. You're always on the side safely with original spare parts from Toshiba.

All you can do is to install the new firmware for SSDS and hope that it works, but who knows maybe the BIOS update will help you also in this case ;)

  • What rMBP spec to run windows via parallels etc. - size RAM and SSD?

The purchase of my first Macbook but must always run some windows for work programs.

Normally just go to the 250SSD and the 8 GB of RAM, but in light of I would like to have the ability to run parallels (or other) it is worth the upgrade for the model 16 GB and 500 GB?

    Thank you!

Virtual machines require allocated system RAM.  If you have 8 GB of RAM and 4 GB is allocated to the virtual machine, you have only 4 GB left for OSX.  Opt for the 16 GB.

I would go for the largest SSD drive you can afford, after that RAM contributed to the maximum.  You can use external storage for future operations, but since you can't pass the internal storage yourself after purchase (well, maybe n the future if they find the right parts) buy great now.

To clear a few boards on the side of people could give you... SSDS are very quick for the management of the 'swap file', so an SSD may speed up the system as much as if there is perhaps a bit more than more RAM.  BUT... Virtual machines require part of the allocated physical RAM of OSX making OSX less effective while the virtual machine is running.

  • G62-340US: the best RAM and SSD together for an older G62?

I want to improve my old and slow HP G62 with a new SSD and RAM and I have a few questions.

First of all, I found two very similar RAM packs on Amazon and I don't know what is the difference or one that will work with my laptop?

    http://www.Amazon.com/crucial-PC3-8500-204-pin-CT2K4G3S1067M-CT2C4G3S1067M/DP/B008LTBJFM?ie=UTF8&key...

    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B005LDLVAO/ref=cm_cd_asin_lnk

Second, it is possible to install an SSD in the computer? And if that's the case, what is the recommended product?

Thirdly, if I replace my hard drive with an SSD, should I buy another copy of the operating system or is at - it a way to save that?

You want the package of upper memory which is the right speed and density of your laptop. The other memory is more recent and probably not compatible. The top of the page says memory is for a Mac that is not in itself a problem, but you may want to consider the memory recommended by HP:

    4 GB (for models 1.1 and 1.2 only) 599092-001

    http://www.Amazon.com/HP-VH641AT-4-GB-DDR3-PC3-10600/DP/B0030L3B8E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&QID=1459805725&SR=8-1&keywords=599092-001

Absolutely, you can install an SSD on the laptop. Assuming that your 10 Windows is activated you can do a full system image bootable Windows 10 or you can install clean media media creation tool again and the activation of just MS servers identify your computer and you will be activated again even if you change the hard drive.

  • x 360 s102nu 13: 13-s102nu replacement of Ram and SSD

    Help, please.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See page 29 for HDD and p. 38 for memory access.

    Maximum memory is 2 x 8 gig DDR3L-1600 modules or 16 concerts.

You can replace the hard drive with a 2.5 inches wide and type of hard drive SSD the SATA 7 or 9.5 mm thick.

Unfortunately, as you can see on the manual, they are not allowed to the end user while keeping the guarantee in place. Also, your model is particularly delicate to work, espescially that memory which requires removal of the motherboard to access.

  • Upgrade of RAM and SSD

I have two questions about my dv7-6b77dx.

    (1) upgrade of RAM:

I want to upgrade my memory to 4 4 + 2 + 4. What I need to get the same exact 4 GB of RAM (CPU - said Z it's Samsung M471B5273DH0-CH9) or can I get the 4 GB of RAM? I ask this because I do not know if both modules must be the same for memory dual channel. Also, the new Samsung models 30nm with less power consumption while my 4 GB is 40nm. Would it be a problem if I am connected a 30nm and 40 nm?

    (2) SSD:

I want to make sure that AHCI is enabled for the new SSD. I googled and it says it should be configurable in BIOS but my BIOS isn't that kind of environment. The installed chipset is Intel HM65 Express chipset. Your laptop supports SSDS. Normally, you can verify that ACHI is used by checking the configuration of the BIOS. It's unfortunate, but a BIOS HP does not gve you the ability to configure SATA IDE (emulation) or AHCI.  You can use a free utility called PCWizard 2010 to determine what disk controller is installed and the operating mode in. Comes from the following image in Windows 7 and the PC is a desktop computer with an ASUS Crosshair IV Formula motherboard
