Satellite C650 - keyboard problem

My satellite C650 laptop keyboard does not work properly.
He was always a bit slow, but now it's very slow and keys work intermittently.
Several keys do not work.

As far as I know that nothing happened, as water damage.
Any ideas... (my question mark does not at all)!

If I m remembering that some people have posted on similar problems. The BIOS update should fix this.

Latest version of the BIOS is installed on your laptop via Satellite?

    Hello

I have laptop Toshiba Satellite C650-16R and legal windows 7 installed so I have not installed all the drivers except the graphics card because the resolution was not good. Now my problem is that I have some missing ethernet controller drivers and I don't know which is which.

And the real problem is that my internet is not working when I connect it to cable internet. In fact, when I plug in the cable simply does not recognize it at all. As I plugged it in nothing. And I don't have any network connection, I do not have this option.

I'm not an expert, I know only a little of all of this so if anyone could help me what to do, I would be very grateful.

If I understand you right that your laptop is, in general, not ready for use if you didn't install anything except the display driver.

Until we start discussion can you tell me why do you not own BONES. Your laptop was delivered without an operating system?

  • Satellite C650 - battery problem

    Hello

I've got this Toshiba Satellite C650 about a friend who gave me it reinstall Windows7.

Before you reinstall, I noticed that the laptop has not activate on battery. When I pluged the charger he started and it started once ran on battery without any problem. Also, when it is turned on and that the charger is removed the battery icon do not show how much time left and show unknown time remaining in place.

When I reinstalled Windows does not solve the problem.
I've updated the BIOS, but still does not solve the problem.
I started to think that it's a hardware problem.

The laptop is new - age one month.

I'll be very grateful if someone could help me or point me to the solution of this problem.
The laptop is still under warranty, but I decided to ask here first and here are some other opinions.

    Thank you!

    Try this:
Remove and disconnect the battery and the AC adapter.
Now let and don t touch the laptop for some time (2-3 hours)
Then press and hold the power button / stop along 30 sec.

Now connect the battery and the AC adapter and keep it charge until the battery indicator would turn to green (or blue)
Then turn on the unit and check how it works.

PS: its always recommended to calibrate a new battery, that means that the battery should be completely discharged and recharged until 100% was achieved.
This procedure should be repeated several times in the line

  • Satellite C650 - Touchpad problem

Toshiba Satellite C650 - 13G PSC08E I found that the touchpad, wasn't work and left click did not work, tried all the fixes on the forum.

    Check the BIOS and update
    Function key, fine activated

That all controlled parameters appear in order, so I assumed a defective left click button.
I bought the new palmrest with touchpad and after exactly the same problem.

I can get it to work as a left-handed mouse, right button works as the left should, all other functions are fine except not left click.

Surely, I couldn't be pretty unlucky to have bought a palmrest with broken so left click button (it's new)

    Any help would be appreciated

What I will say maybe you were simply no chance and you had installed another faulty touchpad module, but to be honest, it will be very strange

In my case, the control panel? mouse? last tab (Setup button) contain additional options to control the touchpad features.

My laptop uses the touchpad Alps and the Alps touchpad utility is installed.
This tool provides additional parameters for touchpad left and right, click.
I did not change these options, but of course it of possible to disable the left and right click in this area.

Most of the SHIFT functions work properly, but there are still a few examples like that.

The BIOS installed on my machine is 1.6 which seems to be the last. I installed the 32-bit version of windows 7.

The SHIFT key in MS word deletes a line on the web pages need you out of the box, in which you type
Key 4 above the alpha keys is stuck and only appears as the sign $
Enter the key 4 on the left is fine
The caps lock light doesn't turn on but works fine

  • Satellite A210 keyboard problem - Missing letters and generally acting-up

Model: A210-126 (not relevant since problem seams to affect several models)
Operating system: OS independent (tried multiple: OpenBSD, Linux, Windows XP, Vista, Win7)

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=51922&TSTART=30

    Symptom:
Keys is de-energized or gives wrong output. The problems occurs randomly, either right at startup or after availability. Looks like it's a hardware related issue and not a problem with the OS. The problem occurs in several OS´s and even in the BIOS-meny. None of the solutions posted in this forum / other items solves the problem.

The battery is not a solution (as suggested in other posts), the problem reoccurs after availability and sometimes even right to restart the computer. (Et laisse le visage, un ordinateur portable sans une batterie est un _stationary_) =)

No! It's not overheating and heat issue, this problem may occur at startup after a powerdown complete with battery and power removed. (and no, this isn't a problem of dust or a problem of broken / lack of cooling-fans/ventilation)

I use the lates for my model BIOS, so make a habit/flash-update of the bios to solve the problem.
Default factory restore is not a solution either, but _différemment_ ive tried, even if this problem most def is a hardware problem.

All the other solutions suggested by other posters solves the problem (most of them software related bugs in any case).

    Comments:
The problem started recently enough (ive had this laptop for about a year and a half) and judging by the other posts in this forum seams problem began on the same date/time to a suspect that he is a "calendar/clock" related question... but I'm not an expert and it's just a hunch (would explain why some users may experience a temporary "I solved the problem by changing keyboard-calendar" - euporia until) what they ecounter problem once again after a time of ).

The problem arises _completely_ radom and under any given the cirumstance...

    Any suggestions?

The links that you post are not related to the A210 but L670 laptop model and it was reading about L670 and the problem has been resolved by the BIOS updated

I have a laptop A210 and this issue never happened to me.
I installed Win XP, Vista and Win 7 on the Satellite A210 and keyboard is ok.

You have already updated the BIOS and fact laptop recovery and this didn't help?
OK, so it seems to be linked to the keyboard and the AEP from Toshiba technician should check what

  • Satellite C660 - keyboard problem

I have a problem with the keyboard on my Satellite c660 laptop, reference number: PSC1LE.
The best way I can describe it is like a stuttering problem because it comes and go (very well for a few hours, then not for a short period).

The problem is that, for reasons unknown to me, I continue to experience a problem where the A, N and Enter keys do not work when you press. Sometimes pressing the key several times (they they are not frozen) is simply the letter out, but I can not continue to press the time key to five or six to get a letter. Just to mention, I've not spilled anything on the keyboard.

I did full virus and spyware scans but have found no problem.
I have done tonight all the updates of windows available to me, but it does not appear to have done the trick.

After the restart that follows the device updates all worked them for about 15 minutes, so that the same three keys stopped working again. On this occasion, it lasted only a few minutes, and now I'm writing this with the same keyboard.

Note: I do not use the original keyboard. I changed the jury due to minor property damage, but he did private.
However, this was done most of the year there and worked flawlessly since installation, until this new edition took place in recent weeks.

If anyone has new recommendations or suggestions as to what can be the cause or solutions and then share it please.

I think you'd understand that nobody is able to say why your keyboard malfunctioned.
Only if the hardware of the laptop has been scanned/verified, it would be possible to say what's wrong here
But as General, there is a good workaround solution to diagnose the problem.

You could connect the external USB keyboard to the laptop and could check if the same problems with the mentioned buttons will occur.

In case the external USB keyboard would work correctly, I think that your internal keyboard is the troublemaker in such a case, you will need to replace the keyboard once more.

  • Satellite C50 - keyboard problem

    Hello

Some time ago, I spilled beer on my Satellite C50D-A-133, and as a result of this stupidity of my friends as you can guess the keyboard has stopped working properly. I was afraid that the liquid can cause damage to the pc, so I took the keyboard out immediately. Even if I left dry and cleaned, as soon as I connect it to the laptop it starts to act as if a button is constantly kept pressed. I thought I can get a new and just replace it, but I can't seem to find the same model on the net. What can I do?

Please help me with this problem because I am a student and need my laptop at all times especially for courses and tests the on-screen keyboard could never do the trick.

Any peace of mind would be much appreciated. Thank you!

    >... so I took the keyboard out immediately
There on the back sticker with the exact part number. You can use this part number and try to order a new one. You can also do is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

Addresses and phone numbers, you can find on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/

Have you tried to use it with external keyboard?

Connect the external USB keyboard and test functionality. Check if the use of the external USB keyboard would repeated the same problems.
In case the external USB keyboard would work correctly, the problem is related to the internal keyboard to be replaced.

If so, get in touch with service partners in your country. The keyboard should be replaced free of charge.

  • Satellite A300D keyboard problem after using an external USB keyboard

I use a Satellite A300D series laptop and while at home, I use a UBS keyboard on it, but once the laptop is used without a USB keyboard only some of the keys seem to work, I get number 6 when I press the i key.

I thought that this could be because the USB keyboard would not have been arrested properaly when I unplugged and the portable thought he was always there, but even after the stop of the USB keyboard is the same!

All the answers to my problem?

    Hello

On my Satellite A300, I can get 3 when I press L. It can be done if you are using the FN + F11 key combination.

    Greetings!

I have a laptop Toshiba C650. And I have a problem. Today, I went to the service because I had a problem with LCD display. But when today arriwal, I have a few problems. When I turn on the screen always include gel

    Please help me!

    Sorry my bad English.

    > When I turn on the screen always include gel
    What does this mean exactly?
    The screen is dark?

I think that if the laptop has been checked and repaired by a technician for laptop and if you have still some problems with the material (display) then you should contact the ASP even once more and should clarify this issue
Maybe the technician has made some mistakes while fixing this problem

    It is my opinion...

    Hello

Yes, if the warranty is valid, and if s keyboard allocated material then the keyboard would be replaced within the warranty conditions.
But this must be done by a Toshiba ASP in your country.

Press is several times but gently to see if this can be unlocked in some way.

You can restart your laptop and see if it will happen again and again. If the problem persists next days may be time for the replacement of keyboard. Maybe it sounds serous now, but it is not.
Keyboard is not expensive and for this older model mobile, you can get one on eBay for a few Euros.
Replacement is either not so complicated and you can do it alone.
