  My Toshiba Satellite C660-DSC0QE app, BIOS version 1.80, will not start Windows more - it just goes to the dreaded black screen with white cursor.

  Did you get a Youtube video on how to disassemble? If this is not the case, look for a video and disassemble the laptop again. They replay and reassemble the laptop while you watch.
  You probably forgot to put a connector or a cable sheet or not tight enough.

  I assume that Exchange of HARD drive has been successfully. What you can do is to open the BIOS settings and check if the HARD drive is recognized correctly.
  Now, you must install the operating system. If you n t have original recovery media, you can install the OS using the Microsoft installation disc.   I have the Satellite Pro P300 in front of me. I use it almost 4 weeks now and I press the Start button, very gently and keep it down to the second or two and laptop starts fine everytime I want to start it.

  Do not press the button quickly several times but slowly and keep it down for a second or two.
