Satellite C660 hot-key issue

Hi I was recently provided a C660 Satellite for my further education, even though I believe in my haste to get configured how I want to set up my computers, I might of disabled the shortcuts keyboard reading everything on this forum I found I will need to grow once again allow the TOSHIBA Button Support to run in the beginning but no matter how hard I try to find on msconfig, it seems more to be there, anyone have any ideas on where I could find it on the C drive?

Although one of the strangest things I've noticed this problem is that the volume buttons still work perfectly, it's just the rest of them.

EDIT

Just to know I think I solved my problem to the other people there, here is the process I used to solve the problem of the access key.

Start menu--> write msconfig in the search box on vista or windows 7 (if you use XP box, type this information in the Run dialog box)--> will start--> get KeNotify Application and select it to run at the beginning.

There you have it seems to solve my problem, so I hope that it helps out you.

  • Satellite C660 - ESC key no longer works

    Hello

I have a question about ESC on my Satellite C660. I am very pleased with the laptop, but what bothers me is that from time to time the ESC key works. If I restart the computer, it works again. In addition, the volume switch function (FN + ESC) works, so I don't think it's a hardware problem.

I don't know if there is a combination of keys secret to stop the ESC, work that I press without knowing, or if one of the own programs of Toshiba manages the operation of the key.

    Can you help me?

    Thank you!

    Hello

If someone has done test this using an external USB keyboard?
Otherwise, do it because if it would be a related issue of BIOS, the external USB keyboard ESC key should not be working too

  • Lag on Satellite C660-1F1-key

  • Satellite C660 - function keys do not work correctly

I have a strange problem with the help of function keys. When I turn on the laptop the functions work well. However, after 30 seconds of standing on the desk, they stop. The only buttons fuction that work after that are for the volume (up and down). The brightness, the mute button, they all stop working.

I have no idea what is the reason for this and I'll be happy to have your help.

    MODEL NAME: Toshiba Satellite C660-1MU
    PART NO.: PSC1SE-00600283
    OS: Windows 8.1

As far as I know, function keys are controlled by the driver of Toshiba system and key function Toshiba utility and they must be active in the background (to start).
I checked the Toshiba download page, and as I can see, your laptop is not yet supported for Win8.1. What drivers you have installed?

Anyway, you can try to reinstall them.

I have a * Satellite C660 with Windows 7 64 bit *. When I conect a USB stick (2 GB LG or other), Windows install the new USB, but after a few seconds, the USB is disassemble and assemble and disassemble some indefinitely.

With my old * Toshiba Satellite M50, Windows XP * both sticks work very well.

    Hi mkobets,

Probably something wrong with USB ports or driver chipset so the glue work with your old Toshiba laptop USB

Means the simplest would update the chipset in my view driver that you can download here:

  • Satellite C660 - keyboard keys do not work

    Hey all,.

I have a Toshiba C660 PSC0QE, and some letters have recently stopped working. Well I think it happened when my 1 year child, smacked the keyboard! :-@
    Its just keys at random but the following don't work;
    e, t, u, i, o, z, x, c, v, m, SPACEBAR, move, BACKSPACE, ctrl, 2,4,8,9 and prob some other key.

Is this a common fault on these models?
An update of the bios could be remedied? -How do you do this?
Or do I need a new keyboard?

    Thank you

(this helps the keyboard screen is terrible)

p.s. I couldn't find an answer on the forum

    Hello

I don t think it is matter of BIOS.
Connect an external USB keyboard and check how it works.
The same buttons work correctly using external USB keyboard?
If so, this problem is related to the internal keyboard so the BIOS update is useless in this case, you will need to replace the keyboard in order to solve this problem.

  • Key records is not on Satellite C660

The keyboard on my month Satellite C660 often doesn't seem to work properly 100% - lack of characters, double and generally does not record the capital letter when you use the SHIFT key (shows apital rather than Capital). It is intermittent then maybe a software issue - something running in the background and taking up resources (although surprising because it is a fairly fast machine).

I have Office 2010, Kaspersky, and is normally connected to the internet through a USB router.

Has anyone else had this problem or found a solution?

    Hello

  • Satellite C660-1R1 - recover Windows 7 product key

    Dear Toshiba support,

My Toshiba Satellite C660-1R1 bought in 2011. By the end of 2013, the original HARD drive died and I replaced it with an SSD. That said, I can't start the recovery with the original Windows 7 installation partition, or I can retrieve the product key from the registry. In addition, the sticker of the product key on the back of the laptop is almost unreadable. I read only a few letters.

Is it possible for the support of Toshiba recover my Windows 7 Home product key based on the serial number and other details? I can send the whole of the back of my laptop with two stickers to the evidence.

    Thanks for any help.
    Marcin

    Hi marcinziel
You are lucky to have a product key sticker (COA).
Some people have had success with the digitization of the AOC and using software to improve the image.
This year I bought a R50 Pro of the Satellite with Windows 7 pro and I can't find a sticker (COA) about it.
Toshiba help you with your product key problem?
I'm still waiting for a response from Toshiba.

  • Satellite C660 - the SHIFT key does not work

    Hello

    I have a problem with a Satellite C660.
The keyboard, I cannot use the SHIFT key. After you have installed windows everything worked properly, the problem recurs after a few days. Practically the SHIFT key does not work.
On the one hand I'm the A and the other side works like ESC.

    Help me I'm crazy.
    Thank you.

    Hello

To me that sounds more like a keyboard failure, I can't imagine that it could be linked to the question of the windows operating system do you have tested an external USB keyboard.

Please test this. In this case, you can check if it s really a software problem.
If the USB keyboard works correctly, it means that your internal keyboard is malfunctioning.

  • Satellite C660 - 23 M: Volume OSD works not under Fn Key + 2 or 3 using Win7

I have a satellite C660 - 23 M and have recently reinstalled Windows 7 to get a clean install without bloatware.

I installed the utility Support Flash Cards and value-added products and, on the whole, the functionality of the keys Fn + F OK work and give an OSD appropriate, so that we can see what happens when you use key controls.

Unfortunately however, Fn + 3 (the volume) and Fn + 4 (increase the volume) everything works properly with regard to actually proceed with a reduction or increase the volume control, do not show a suitable simultaneous OSD that allow to confirm the effect and adjust the level of the volume actually set.

Can anyone help with a fix/solution please?

Maybe stupid question now, but worked it as you wisch with Win7 preinstalled original?
I ask this because on my NB520, I use the same combination of keys, but volume OSB is not displayed on the screen.

I can just see this symbol in the taskbar to change.
