Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

You should not have problems with a PC this new.

My suggestion is that you contact the HP customer support to see about maintenance and options at your disposal under warranty replacement.  If HP is unable to repair it, then you should be able to insist on a replacement - no charge!

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

    Hello

I wonder if someone can help me. There are accidents of software in my laptop. I tried to restore my laptop to factory setting, but failed.

Here's what I did: under the opening of proceedings (F12) to drive recovery HARD, I entered "repair your computer" and then computer show the error 0xc000000f. It came at the very end when I 'C' boot from CD/DVD with windows Vista recovery.

    Hello

As far as I know, you have to press F8 to start the HARD drive recovery process.
Then a new menu will appear where you can choose repair my computer.
Then, you choose the HARD drive recovery.

If this is not possible, that it would mean that there is something wrong with the HARD drive or the partition that contains the files / image of HARD drive recovery.
This might explain why the boot from the CD/DVD drive is not possible.

Conversely a failure of RAM could be the reason too.
That's why it of needed to check if these parts.

By the way; are you able to boot from an another disc bootable Win XP or Linux live CD?

  • Satellite L300 and error 0xc000000f

Say that you need to repair Windows installation disc.
    File: \windows\system32\winload.exe
    Status: 0xc000000f
Info: the selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or damaged.
    Enter = continue
    ESC = exit

I can't start mode without failure or something like that. I have not upload anything recently or change anything. Just tried to start one day and got it. I have only the option of F2 or F12

OK, so I used my restore disc and went through "windows is loading files" up to the end of and then Microsoft corporation. It is not even asking for the language. Then nothing. Black screen with white cursor. Nothing helps. The cursor moves when controlled with mouse pad, but that's all. I can't use ctrl + alt + del or something else to get out. Please can someone help me with this. I have some documents that I'd rather not see it go. Are there other options apart from resetting to the factory settings?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    > Are there other options apart from resetting to the factory settings?
If I've understood your right to post you cannot install recovery image.
What happens when you press F8 at startup? You can enter advanced startup options?

If you have some important documents stored on the HARD drive and then connect as another external to the other PC then you can all copy them to the PC.

    What you can do?
Try to get somewhere Microsoft installation disc to see if the same problem occurs again. If you will not be able to launch the installation of operating system with this disc of facilities I assume that HDD is troublemaker and you must test the features with the other.

Maybe some friend of you has a 2.5 HDD so you can use it for testing purposes.

In the end, I have to say that most strange thing in this whole thing, is that you cannot use same disc of recovery for the installation of the OS. For me it is the best proof that there must be some hardware problem.

    Hello

You mean that you cannot start the laptop using the Toshiba Recovery disk you created?

Go into the BIOS and check if the CD/DVD drive is recognized. It should appear on the first page of the BIOS.
If the CD/DVD drive is not listed, then you should set the compatible SATA mode and must save the changes.
After this attempt to boot again from the recovery disc.

    I also searched on the Toshiba driver European page for info and found a few details;

There is an update of firmware for CD/DVD TS-L633A and TS-L633P player.
This Firmware solves "sometimes not able to writing on DVD + R media'.
The problem occurs only on DVD + R media, other media type have no problem.

    Hello

I find it strange... I think if you live in Australia, and if you bought the computer from the Australia, you must contact the HP support for the Australia. I guess he must have occur an error and you should talk to the HP support for the Australia, not for US.

Yes, it is understandable that the HP support we ship records in Australia, but Australian support HP should be able to advice.

HP has different policies and practices of different countries. In some countries the discs (recovery media) is provided by HP partners for the country.

I suggest that you contact HP Australian support and insist to have local support because you live in Australia and the PC is purchased by the Australia.

You can also check with local partners of HP:

    > > http://www8.hp.com/au/en/store-finder/find.do?bs=SR2 & type = reseller

    Search for Melbourne, Australia

    Choose 'expertise Partner. "

You should end up here with the list of the local partners of 20 companies.

Let me know if they can provide you with assistance.  If this is not the case, thanks for posting.

Recovery, your PC must be repaired. A required device is not connected or is not accessible. 0xc000000f error code.

I saw a video that requires changes in Advanced bios but do not have the advanced option.

    Hi @WW5,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your computer installation failure HP ENVY laptop and factory reset and recovery. Try to do a Factory reset with the HP Recovery Manageron its own without the inserted DVD.

I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS withthis document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. In this way, it will look at the hardware installed on your laptop.

Trythis toWindows. A repair may help. In my view, the DVD is the issue or is corrupted.

You could look at this from Microsoftwhich has some troubleshooting in her steps.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Hello

The following assumes that you are running Windows 7.

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Download the ISO relevant among the links below - if you are unsure of the version, your laptop is listed as coming from a 64-bit installation.

    Windows 7 32 bit

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD-( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn options)- hereis a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc.

One time created, or if you already have this, typing away at the esc key when you launch Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Insert the rescue CD.  Select boot options (usually f9), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.

When loading, select repair your computer and choose the command line.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart the laptop.

    Kind regards

It would be simpler if you did it with a desktop or laptop which has Windows installed 8.1.

You have a friend who has Windows 8.1 on a laptop and would be willing to help you to create a recovery key?

  • 0xc000000f \Windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe kernel is missing or corrupt - windows server 2008 r2

After restoring the Windows partition boot flag, I got:

    \Windows\system32\ntkrnlpa.exe

    kernel is missing or damaged.

I use Windows Server 2008 R2 installed on 70 GB primary partition & active with appropriate MBR.  It is not the consumer - it is installed on the laptop.  After the repair broken BCD (Windows 7 installation DVD, DVD server doesn't have this tool :() this problem.) I know that this (ntkrnlpa.exe) file does not exist, and it should not. System could not start any mode (even Safe Mode base).

The disc is perhaps the problem because PARAGON Hard Disk Manager 2011 has problems with the editing of this partition but it it sails well (as other tools). The files seems good. Also, CHKDSK has not found no serious problems such as bad sectors - it fixed only tiny problems.

    What should I do?

My friend tells me that there is no external device attached to the laptop and it was working on Excel in time. Windows updates are being installed and the computer laptop ran out of battery and turned off. The computer is restarted, it got the error above.

    System information:

Processor: Intel Core i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70 GHz

    Memory size: 8192MG RAM

    BIOS date: 20/09/2014

    BIOS revision: M74 worm 01.05

I have the DVD of the operating system, but when I select to boot from it, I get error saem. I tried the driver and application recovery DVDs, but that takes me directly in restoring to factory settings menu (I get no repair option). I tried to run diagnostics in the system (quick test). It starts with the battery and after about 10 seconds returns to the previous menu. Looking at the logs, it is said that the diagnistic was canceled, but certainly not by me. I managed to run individual tests on do as the battery, processor and hard drive and they all passed.

How can we try to repair Windows rather than recreating the image?

If you create a USB installer or Windows 8.1, you should be able to access the recovery options advanced that you will use the Safe Mode. If you are able to boot in safe mode, then using the system recovery may very well be the answer to the question of the BCD store that appeal to you.

Follow the instructions on the third party site to create a usb Windows 8.1 installer using a key of Windows 8.1 credits and use it to access the Windows environment.

Hello. My presario primer not. I ran the self test and get "start up test" Failed "fast hard disk 1" (303). I tried to restore to the factory settings, but get error 0xc000000f and it will not go further. What is the best way to precede.

    Hello

303 error code would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the question of commissioning and the inability to fill a factory reset.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, please let me know - include the full model number and the laptop Nr - see here for an explanation.

  • I am receiveing a startup error.__File: Boot\BCD__Status: 0xc000000f

He came out of the box with Windows Vista 64 installed.

    I get the boot\bcd error 0xc000000f

I can boot from the recovery disc and the System Recovery Options.
It shows not all operating systems to repair.  He asked the drivers to load to load the drivers for your hard drives.

When I click to load the drivers it shows the startup disk (x) disc, but all the other disks are removable with nothing in it.  My hard drive is not displayed.

I checked the BIOS and it recognizes the hard disk.

I tried chkdsk in command prompt, but since it is not at all recognize the drive I could not figure out.

I would like to launch a program to be able to check my drive hard, but without being able to get into windows don't know how to do in this regard.

When I plug in my external hard drive it recognizes him as the C: drive which I thought it was a little weird, as a removable disk.

Any thoughts on how to solve this problem would be wonderful.

The problem is that the partition with the operating system does not appear in the recovery options.  That's the problem I'm having.  Right now I wipe my hard drive clean and completely restore factory default.  I supported everything every week so I shouldn't lose to much information.
