Satellite C660 won't take a wireless connection to my router

My new C660 very quickly finds my router and shows a connection, but then does not connect to the internet - suggestions please because I don't know where to look!
It works fine with a cable.

Our internet connection is sometimes a bit low, but I have a Satellite P200 (which I am currently using) who manages to connect every day every day so I expect the same of the C660. My daughter needs to use it at the boarding school therefore essential that one can easily get the wireless operation.

Thank you very much

disable firewall settings to see if it blocks the connection.

    Hello

We bought the laptop above for our son for Christmas and he continues to lose its wireless connection, we also have a satellite L450 that works well (not to lose the internet connection), we were on our broadband provider that they told us that the wireless connection on our other laptop is fine It's something to do with the C660, one of the pilots is in need of an update, unfortunately I forgot the name of the driver, but it's something to do with the modem, our son is desperate to use his laptop.

    Can anyone help?

  • Re: Satellite C660 - 29G does not detect wireless networks

    Hello.

    I own a SATELLITE C660 - 29 G PSC1LE, bought in Spain.

Once shaped my development pc, I installed Windosws 7 64-bit.

As I lost the DVD attached to the purchase of the laptop, I have downloaded all the drivers for my model based on the Toshiba site

I installed all the drivers and the thing is that the wireless card is most recognized. I can´t see WiFi available.

I connect to the laptop with a cable to get access to the internet and it works properly.

    Could you please help me?
    Thank you.

You can first test what is the status of the WLAN card in Device Manager?
Wireless network adapter installed and registered correctly?

If yes do not forget the wireless network card is enabled.
    Please check and post comments.

  • Satellite C660 - 11 k - no driver wireless

    Hello

I have searched and cannot find an answer - sorry if this repeats another question.
    I have a sateleite C660 - 11K.

I turned it on this morning and it wouldn't connect to the internet.
I checked the network and sharing Center, and there is no option to search for wireless connections.

I looked at the material and there is no WiFi driver.
I can't try and ask one (because I can't online). I did a system restore - just in case I did something stupid - and he did not return. I also did the basic (relating to implementation) and nothing

    Help please.

    And now?
    Looking for a driver Wlan?

I think this laptop is using the Realtek RTL8188CE Wlan card
Install the driver for the wireless network adapter and the wireless network card should appear in the Device Manager.

  • Satellite Pro L770-11F - loss of wireless connection

I have a portable Satellite Pro L770-11F recently delivered to me in the context of an insurance claim. It has an AR9002WB - 1NG Wireless Atheros adapt 7 is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

The problem that I am facing is when I download a file from the internet, it stops at random points & is unable to complete the download.

I can't tell when it happens or how it goes as nothing comes on the screen to tell me any problem. Sometimes I find that even if the PC is always connected to the router (D - Link DIR-615 & only 6 feet from the PC) the map only shows theres no connection to internet even if my Xbox is connected & my phone connects.

What makes it more rare is that if I connect to the router via an ethernet cable it never is de-energized & download the files without any problems

The files I download are various sizes of 350 MB to 3 GB, but it seems to do more on files larger than 500 MB so im thinking it's a matter of time/timer or a problem of size of file (wireless only, not connected by cable)

I had a laptop before it & it worked fine & I have never experienced this problem never

I changed the power management settings in the option ncpa.cpl & bang as far as I can tell that the drivers are up to date. I'm sure it's a matter of PC and not my internet & hopefully this week I can you confirm that by connecting to an internet friends & see if the same thing happens.

Any help would be greatly appreciated I have about 14 days left before I can send it to the supplier for an Exchange if it's a hardware problem.

    Thank you very much
    Tez

    Hello

You said that the Wlan driver is updated, but I recommend you also check Toshiba Wlan portal and compare Wlan driver versions.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/
Here you can find the latest version of the driver.

You should also check the Microsoft power management settings.
There is an option for the WLan to save the power of the dough.
I recommend to disable this option for better performance.

Last but not least, you can check and play with the options that are in
-> Wlan card device manager-> properties-> Advanced tab

Good luck, hope this can be a little help

  • Satellite L35 (US) with Atheros AR5005G wireless connection problems

I have a Toshiba L35 (Windows Media Center Operating System) with the software WiFi Atheros AR5005G. This machine was purchased in the United States.

While in the United States the Wi - FI connection to a router (Linksys) using Windows to configure was instant without any problem.

I am now in England and when I try to connect to a Modem/Router (3 com), use Windows to configure, connection is spasmodic with what makes a connection on every five attempts. Several times I have to use the repair connection device trying to connect. When it connects the connection is good. When you use the repair it shows unable to renew your IP address if it connects. On other occasions, I use the network connection Panel and 'disable' then 'activate' then most guarantees a connection.

The laptop provides instant connection when you use a card PCMCIA WiFi with Windows to configure. While the card is inserted the s computer WiFi connect instant however when the card is removed and the computer restarted the same problems occur for a computer, free WiFi!

Other laptops have no problems to connect to my Modem/Router. I am convinced that it is working properly.

All regional/language settings in the control panel have been updated with the United Kingdom.

No undates are available for the Atheros Driver or BIOS.

Anyone can help identify the problem/possible settings to change?

    Hello

Satellite L35 is a portable American designed for the American market. BIOS and drivers should be downloaded from the Toshiba site we and not on Toshiba Europe site.

However, the error message Impossible to renew your IP address is known to me and my brother had the same problem with the Intel card. I just updated the WLan driver and used the Intel Proset utility for WLan configuration.

I see that you have the Atheros card. The Atheros also provide an Atheros WLan client utility. Try to use instead of the clean Windows configuration.
In addition, place check WLan card properties. You will find energy saving option. Please turn it off and check the Advanced tab

  • Failure of wireless connection to the router to the desktop

I use Windows 7 and a router/modem method. The wireless connection to the internet recently stopped working in my HP Pavilion desktop computer. He still works for my tablet, but I can only connect to my desktop by Ethernet cable. It would seem that the fault lies in my office. The icon in the bottom right of the screen shows the wireless internet available as internet access card. I can't find any disabled dialog box display the Wi - Fi connection and troubleshooting shows no defects with network cards. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If I understand you correctly, when you click the icon in the system Notification area, you can see a list of the available connections, including the SSID of your wireless network.

    If this interpretation is correct

    • Unplug the Ethernet cable
    • open network and sharing Center
    • Click on the link 'manage wireless network '.
    • Select your network
    • Click 'delete '.
    • Now close the window manage wireless networks
    • Click on the network icon, select your network
    • Click on connect
    • Enter the security password when prompted.

  • Satellite C660 2QH WLAN problem--loss of connection all the ~ 30 min

    Hello world

I just bought a SAT C660 nine Toshiba and I faced a strange problem - I lose the internet connection every 30 minutes for about 3-5 minutes, then it connects all of a sudden again.

I've been reading about the problem here and I fixed my power settings (although this also occurs when the laptop is plugged in), and I installed the new WLAN driver: 1005.19.0420.2011 (my Wireless LAN Adapter is: 8188CE). I thought that he that could have the problem in my anti-virus program, so I uninstalled. A few restarts later everything was as before - problem persists.

    Help, please!

PS. I'm from Germany, where this is relevant.

    Hello

Are you sure this isn't question of Wlan router?
It would be interesting to know if you have the same problems with other devices connected to the Wlan.

Next to the idea that this could be a router issue I think you should check some WLan Card settings.
In the Wlan card-> properties-> tab Device Manager to disable the option to turn off the device to save power.

You said that you have installed/updated test driver the driver from Realtek page too.

  • Satellite A300 - 9 pm - droping of wireless connection

    Hello

    I have a Satellite A300 - 21 h.
A month ago my laptop started to have problems with the radio (the internal card), the connection would be only randomly fall or fail to connect to the network at all, other times it would even detect the network.

I also run Linux on my machine and it is giving the same problems. I have updated drivers in windows, made a new Linux installation - still nothing.

The weird part is the wireless can work perfectly every so often – the last day I had this download for 12 + hours and no problem.

    Can someone help me?
    Thank you:

    Hello

Have you checked whether the same problems is displayed using LAN?
It's perhaps router s related question?

I recommend resetting the router and check again

Most BIOS should be checked... it must be updated
If a newer version is available, then you could try an update

  • Satellite C660-1DK overheating when you are connected to the dynadock station

    Hello

I recently bought a Dynadock U10 (PA3575E-2PRP) docking station, to get a great full how to use my laptop 3. No luck, perfect functioning of Sony and Nec, Toshiba C660-1DK don't: (o)

OK, I noticed that the C660 is not in the list of laptops supported the Dynadock.

In any case, there must be something for a Toshiba laptop? So here's the snippet:

-configuration (with the latest drivers online) and connection beetween Dynadock and C660 smoothly
-After a few minutes, running fan a cooling of laptop fires throtlle full speed.
-to 70-degree temperature, C660 stop automatically.

My OS is Windows Seven 64-bit original.

Thanks for any help that you could provide

    Bests

    Stéphane

    Hello

Dynadock is certainly supported by C660. So this shouldn't be a problem.

    > After a few minutes, running fan a cooling of laptop fires throtlle full speed.
    > 70-degree temperature, C660 stop automatically

Check that the cooling modules are free of dust. Dust affect the performance of module cooling and this could lead to a higher temperature.
Spray with compressed air to remove dust from the fans.

The use of graphics drivers from Toshiba is also very important! Drivers Toshiba supports the overheating protection so you need to check if the use of drivers Toshiba could help!
