Satellite C660D-14W (PSC0UE) - BSOD STOP: 0x000000A5 ERROR

Hi all

I have a laptop Toshiba C660D-14W (PSC0UE) which gives me a lot of trouble.

He spends in BSOD every time with the exact error message:

* A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent the damage
* for your computer

* If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, *.
* Restart your computer. If the screen looks so again, follow *.
* the following steps: *.

BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI-compatible. Please contact your *.
* system for a BIOS.* update vendor

* Technical information: *.

* STOP: 0X000000A5 (0 X 0000000000000011, 0 X 0000000000000003, 0 X 0000000000000000, 0 X 0000000000000000). *

Things I've tried so far:

1x1GB + 1x2Go originally had Samsung RAM in it, if both are in, there is no image on the screen. If I take the 2 GB of RAM, go as far as the BSOD. (Tested with 1 GB or 2 GB sticks)

It does not start in the original system, neither do a startup repair, recovery etc.. It will not install a new copy of Windows 7 either, it will go to BSOD as soon as Windows 7 animation would begin to appear.

Rams reinstall, replaced. tested in another laptop, they are all very good. Same thing with a second HDD.

BIOS has been updated to 1.30 1.10 which is the most recent version of this model, no luck. BIOS also on the default settings.

Windows XP SP3 can be installed, however, it's how I updated the BIOS.

It may be also not that Windows Installer disk, which is also excluded.

Any suggestions?

Thank you
Peter

This means that work for laptop using that one module into the first slot of memory?

In this case, the problem could be:
(1) the modules are not compatible with each other.
(2) one of the memory slots is defective.

This should be verified

  • Satellite C660D-14W - Webcam application: Impossible to adjust the Image Preview size

I recently bought a Satellite C660D-14W, and then activation of the application of the webcam, I can't increase the size of the image of 160 * 120.

The size of the image (i.e. the image of myself I see when the webcam is activated) used to be much larger, but when I select the drop-down list menu resolution to see that I can enlarge the preview image, the only option I gave is 160 * 120.

A couple of times before this problem started, when I started the laptop I got an error message saying that the application of the webcam could not be enabled; I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver for the webcam, but no luck.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Best wishes

    Andy

    Hello

Even if reinstalling driver webcam didn t help you, I would recommend when even that check once more.
You must uninstall the first webcam software!

Then you must clean the registry because the registry still contains entries.
You can use the CCleaner it s clean good software keep the register and the OS.

After that, restart the device several times and then download the software of the webcam from the Toshiba page then install it and restart the device.
Now check the features of webcam!

Note: to install 3 software (Skype, etc.) that may affect the webcam feature to verify the webcam before install you the software.

  • Wireless on Satellite C660d-14W after clean instalation of Win 7

    Hello

I bought a toshiba satellite c660d-14w off the coast of a friend and reinstalled a fresh copy of windows 7 x 64.
After installation, the laptop does not recognize any material (graphics, wireless network card, sound) so I slowly tried to install all the drivers for all.

However, no matter what I install for the wireless, it just doesn't seem to work.
Installed the driver from realtek RTL8188CE, driver lan wireless on Toshiba website and have set the network connections service car and restarted it and still nothing.

In the Manager of peripheral devices, network cards, I have two entries:

    Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller
    &
    Realtek RTL8188CE WLAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

Suffice to say that they are working properly and have the latest drivers but I have no wireless access, does not display the icon in the status bar, and I just get a generic windows error message when you try to configure it manually.

    Help, please!

Yes, the wireless network card seems to be properly recognized in Device Manager.
The Satellite C660C-14W supports the Realtek RTL8188CE WLan chip.

You said you do not have access to the WLan
    Did you check the availability
Control Panel-> network sharing Center-> the settings of map (left)

Here, you should see the wireless network card
    Is - this visible?

If Yes, go to properties and uninstall the TCP/IPv6 protocol and use only TCP/IPv4

  • Satellite C660D-14W - webcam no longer works

    Hello

My C660 is 2 weeks old and the webcam has suddenly stopped working, the window where the image of the camera should show has been replaced by a picture of a flower.
Facial recognition was working fine until today, but it has also stopped working. I checked all the settings and everything to my (admittedly limited) knowledge seems to be as it should.
I tried a system restore, and it made no difference.

    Can anyone help?
    Thank you.

Start the web camera application and you will find option effect. Open and go to the third tab, called the mosquito net and make sure it is set to OFF.
This should eliminate this flower you see.

You restart the laptop and check webcam application again.

    Hello

    ·          What happens when you try to recover Windows disk?

    ·          When you have this error?

At "Stop: 0x000000A5" error message indicates that the computer's BIOS is not compatible with the standard Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) that is supported in Windows Vista. However, this error can also occur because the hardware, devices, or these device drivers are not compatible with Windows Vista.

Step 1: Disconnect external devices that are connected to the computer. In addition, remove or disconnect any equipment that the manufacturer of the computer does not support.  Then try to fix it.

Step 2: Contact the manufacturer of the computer for more information about how to obtain and install a BIOS update.

NOTE: changes to the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    Hello

I'm so stupid with this stuff so please make all responses for a 3 year old can understand.

The problem - since a few years, I used a desktop computer and connected to the internet via modem wide empty tape and USB connection. Last week bought a Satellite C660D installed Windows 7 os provided and tried to connect with my modem, but failed miserably.

I get the error message 651 but do not understand why.
I use wired ethernet (because my friend does on their laptop) and tried the cable on their system, and it worked very well, so I don't think it's that.

If someone is kind enough to explain what I do, I'll be able to keep this computer connected to the internet with usb and connect the laptop with an ethernet at the same time, so I can read the instructions while I go or I'll have to print the instructions and disconnect the Office before retrying the laptop? Yes, I'm dumb and I'm not even blonde, lol

Thanks in advance for those who have the patience to try to help me.

    Hello

To help you, we will need files DMP to analyze what exactly happened at the time of the accident, etc.

If you don't know where the DMP files, here's how to get to them:
    1. go to the Windows\Minidump folder.
2 copy all the DMP files in the Minidump folder on your desktop and zip then those files.
3 download the zip containing the files DMP to Skydrive or a Web hosting of your choice and paste in your answer.

If you plan to use Skydrive, but do not know how to download it, please see the following:
    http://www.WikiHow.com/use-SkyDrive

Please note that all "cleaner" such as TuneUp Utilities, CCleaner, etc., default will remove files DMP when using because of their place too.

If your computer doesn't generate DMP files, follow these steps:

    1. start > type systemroot which should show the Windows folder, click it. Once inside this folder, make sure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to create a new folder and name it Minidump.

    2. Windows key + key Pause. This should appear in the system. Click Advanced on the left system settings > advanced > performance > settings > advanced > make sure there is a check mark for "manage automatically the size of pagefile for all readers."

    3. Windows key + key Pause. This should appear in the system. Click Advanced on the left system settings > advanced > startup and Recovery > settings > failure > ensure there is a check mark next to "Write an event to the system log" > make sure that "automatically reboot" is unchecked.

Ensure that the partial memory image is turned on and make sure the path is % SystemRoot%\Minidump.

    4. check that the viewers is ENABLED:

Start > Search > type services.msc > on the name tab, search for Windows Error Reporting Service > if the service status is not started, then right-click and select start. Also to ensure that, under Startup Type set to automatic rather than manual. You can do this by right click, select properties and under general selection on 'Automatic' startup type and then click on apply.

If you can not get into normal mode to do this, please do so via Safe Mode.

    Kind regards

    Patrick

  • Satellite C650-14W - Linux does work on it?

    Hey

I tried to install ubuntu on my Toshiba Satellite C650-14W. I chose ubuntu - 10.04 - desktop-amd64. I have a processor intel, but didn t find a file name with intel.

I started on a CD and started the installation but it stopped after a while with an error message like "ChildBuild" - something.

    Thank you!

    giltosh

This laptop has the Intel i3 processor? In this case, it's a 64-bit processor, and you can install the "amd64" of Ubuntu Linux edition.
Initially, AMD has managed to produce the first x 86 64-bit compatible CPU (before Intel!), so the "amd64" stuck under the ISO name.

For custom installation help, you can also look at ubuntuforums.org.

Toshiba does not officially support Linux and does not seem to recognize Linux for laptops.

    I have a Satellite C660D-124
I was playing music when he decided to stop and I got this error message.
PXE - E61 media test failure.

    what I've done so far;

    (1) battery removed, removed HDD.
replace drive HARD and battery. no change in error.

    (2) joined in setting up F2, noticed the HDD\SDD says NOT PRESENT.
Scrolls to the start menu that looks like this...
    HARD DRIVE
    CD/DVD
    FLOPPY DRIVE
    LAN
down the HARD drive and back up and saved on exit without change by mistake

    (3) when I go peripheral to the F12 boot boot, the boot menu reads as follows;
    CD/DVD - HL - DT - ST DVDRAM GT 30N
    REALTEK LAN PXE B03 DOO

There is no DISC in the start menu, is there?

I would have appreciated your advice and your expertise on this matter and I hope that my h/dd is not dead

    Hello

Your HARD drive is defective and must be replaced.
I m sure about it because the HARD disk does not appear in the BIOS. But it should.

Replace the HARD drive, reinstall the system and the laptop would go again :)

  • Satellite C660D - BIOS flash failed

I've updated the Toshiba Satellite C660D-16th (PSC20E) with BIOS version 1.60 and it updated without error. BIOS version file is DELHI10AB_10ABG_BIOS_160_WIN. When it restarts, it was empty and brick screen. I tried to find more old bios for this laptop and use wincrisis to retrieve the bios. It meets the outfit that keys FN + B while poweron without batrtery and USB drive LED flashes for a while but that is it :/

    Any ideas?

The package of v1.60 - winner of the BIOS can be downloaded here:
    http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-...0601184846.zip

    Unzip the package.
Then you will find the file: DELHI10AB_10ABG_BIOS_160_WIN.exe
This exe file is also a zipped package.
Right click on the exe file and select Extract here.
In the DELHI10AB_10ABG_BIOS_160_WIN folder, you will find the bios.rom and ec.rom

But I'm not sure if you Flash the BIOS once more to resolve your problem... maybe EPROM module is affected.
