Satellite C660D-194 - HDD reovery missing files on partition D

Hi all, I have a quick question coiple.

I just restored MS windows 7 image, but he rubbed my D: :-( (and forced me to format the drive - D: :(). So my 'D: HARD drive recovery files"are now gone: (.) Fortunately, I created a set of recovery disks (2DVD) when I got the laptop for several years.

Question: Is it important that I have more files on D: (the recovery of the DVD will be able to restore my laptop to factory etc.)

Question: Is there also a way to restore the "D: HARD drive recovery files" (back on D :) using the DVD (just a long shot) or is there anywhere I can download the file of?) If so, just put them on the D: drive HARD recovery as (or something like that - advice please)

Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated :).

Hello

As a first step, I would like to answer your questions.
> Does it matter that I have more files on D: (will be the recovery DVD be able to restore my > notebook to factory etc.)
Recovery DVDs is designed as a bootable media for original recovery image installation. Answer is Yes.
> Also, is there a way to restore the "D: HARD drive recovery files" (get back on D :) using the DVD (just a long shot) or is there anywhere I can download the file to?)
When you use recovery DVD for the recovery recovery image installation image is copied on the HARD drive. Download image Recovery is not possible.

Now, I want to write a few words about the laptops of recovery.
Each new laptop comes with preinstalled operating system saved the recovery image on the HARD drive. On older machines, it has been saved in a separate folder on the D partition. On newer machines, it is saved on the small hidden partition. As backup (recommended), you must create restore DVD. This DVD can be used if you cannot install recovery disk image directly (HARD disk recovery) or HARD drive is defective and you need to install the recovery image on the new HARD drive.
Before recovery image installation starts, you will create partitions on HARD drive and copied the disk image restore HARD, so every time you use recovery DVDs you laptop with the settings, including copy of recovery image on the HARD drive.

Theoretically, it is NOT possible that you have installed the recovery image, but there is no image saved on the HARD drive recovery.

I don t want to confuse and write too. If you have further questions you are welcome.

  • Re: Satellite C660D - 10 d - problems with updates of drivers

    Greetings from Greece

    We bought a toshiba Satellite C660D - 10 d. It came with windows7 64-bit.
After the windows installation and updates of windows updates, that I entered toshiba for updating readers, some of them was not installed.

Then, the internet was very slow so I did a Hijack this scan to see what is happening.
I discovered that many services that had to do with system32 is missing files.

So first, I can post a HJT log for you, so if possible you can explain why this happens and you drivers that I could not update the list?
I have also another question to u... can you please tell me how to work the bluetooth on the system?
I hope you understand my questions because my English are not so good,

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

If the automatic driver update didn't work properly, then try downloading the drivers only manually and try the update again.
You can find all the drivers on the European driver Toshiba page.
But why update drivers if laptop running ok? I think that it s is not necessary if you have no problems.

    > can u please tell me how to work the bluetooth on the system?
This laptop is not compatible Bluetooth

  • Cannot create a recovery on my Satellite C660D-1CU media

I have a big problem with my laptop, Satellite C660D-1CU.

It is impossible to create the recovery media.
Can't find file recovery HARD drive on the second disc of the first hard drive. This computer has no valid environmental restoration of the hard drive.

Can someone help me because I really need my pc back to factory settings because I have too many bugs.

    Concerning
    Nicolas

Message was edited: assignment has been translated

This problem occurs if the Toshiba Recovery creator tool cannot find the recovery image on the HARD drive. There are several reasons for this. Recovery image can be removed, deleted or structure of disk partitions HARD maybe changed. Just with the original settings and their State of origin HDD it will work.

Unfortunately now you will be able to create a recovery media or the installation of HARD drive recovery.
What you can do is a new and original for your model of laptop recovery DVDs and it is possible on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • Satellite L10-194 cannot run after recovery

Hello! I used my Satellite L10-194 for a few years, and he started to be really slow, I decided to reinstall the system (recover) to make it cleaner and faster.
I found my recovery of product L10 DVD - ROM, but when I finished the system restore would not start. I tried the recovery for some time, and it does not help. Whenever I try to start the computer, when it goes to load the system it just turns off (I think that it is something like the blue screen flashes for a second).

I checked the disk file image in advanced mode and HARD, and that's OK. But when I do HDD-> image in advance mode, after it is sometimes a moment when I have access to the command line. After getting "dir C:" I don't see a Windows directory (?), when restarting the computer does not work as usual. I'm doing something wrong?

I tried another CD of product recovery of the second Toshiba laptop that I have, and it works, it installs Windows but without pilots and things (it's a completely different model from Toshiba). What should I do? I'm not sure if the use of system preinstalled for model is the right idea (and legal)?

I had some problems with my front L10, and I had to change the motherboard. In service, what they said that they can't find a motherboard identical like that in my L10, so they used some different model. It's maybe the problem of recovery does not work why?

    PS.
Sorry for my English, please correct me in my errors, to help me improve the language :)

    > I had a few problems with my front L10, and I had to change the motherboard. In service, what they said that they can't find a motherboard identical like that in my L10, so they used some different model. It's maybe the problem of recovery does not work why?

I think that this is the reason why your laptop does not start after the recovery procedure.
Seems that the drivers that are part of the image are not compatible with the new motherboard.
Maybe the driver chipset or make sure you graphics card drivers some worries and windows crashes before starting the system
Maybe you could star the windows in safe mode. Press F8 just after pressing the power button / stop. Then choose Safe mode.
In safe mode, uninstall the chipset driver and the graphics driver and then try to start it again.

If that does not help, then install windows using a clean Microsoft CD.
Pilots should be placed on the page of European driver of Toshiba.

    welcome them

  • Missing file when creating a recovery disk CD

    Hello

At first my English isn't the best.

    And now my problem:
When I try to create a new HARD drive recovery CD an error telling me there is a missing file

    This is the error message:

The following file could not be opened,
    F:\08011XSP5.swm
    (Error 020123-F1-00000000 code)

I just translated the error message then maybe there are a few mistakes in there.
    I got a Satellite A300-1QD. Obtained on 20 March.

I put t know what to do. Can someone help me?

    > I don't know what to do. Can someone help me?
In my opinion, you should follow:
Make screenshots of all the errors as evidence. Try to create a recovery media using DVD-R media and use high quality as TDK or Verbatim media.

If the same thing happen again try to contact nearest authorized maintainer and explain the situation. I hope that you will get a new original Toshiba recovery media.
The missing file is a serious problem for me and if you are unable to create recovery media, I fear that you can not install Vista using F6 option and the HDD recovery procedure. If this is true, you can stay without an operating system. Please don't make any experiences with F6.

Contact ASP and try to get a free recovery media. Use screenshots as evidence.

By the way: I Satellite A300, but I got lucky and creation of recovery worked correctly.

  • Satellite C660D - BIOS flash failed

I've updated the Toshiba Satellite C660D-16th (PSC20E) with BIOS version 1.60 and it updated without error. BIOS version file is DELHI10AB_10ABG_BIOS_160_WIN. When it restarts, it was empty and brick screen. I tried to find more old bios for this laptop and use wincrisis to retrieve the bios. It meets the outfit that keys FN + B while poweron without batrtery and USB drive LED flashes for a while but that is it :/

    Any ideas?

The package of v1.60 - winner of the BIOS can be downloaded here:
    http://Support1.toshiba-tro.de/Tedd-...0601184846.zip

    Unzip the package.
Then you will find the file: DELHI10AB_10ABG_BIOS_160_WIN.exe
This exe file is also a zipped package.
Right click on the exe file and select Extract here.
In the DELHI10AB_10ABG_BIOS_160_WIN folder, you will find the bios.rom and ec.rom

But I'm not sure if you Flash the BIOS once more to resolve your problem... maybe EPROM module is affected.

  • Update disk on Satellite C660D

    Hi all

    I'm new to this forum,
I would like to upgrade my hard drive but I don't know what to choose.
Nothing too fancy, I would like to know how to find the right one.
Is there a way that tells you that compatible, as it is for the RAM?

    Thank you in advance.
Toshiba satellite c660d pscole... hope this helps

As much as I know that is not a HDD compatibility list, but to find that good drive HARD should not be problematic. Question is: what is the reason for Exchange of HARD drive or upgrade?

You need more capacity, or you want to use the faster HARD drive and increase the performance of s for laptop?
Maybe you should think about SSD. For some basic info, check it please http://storage.toshiba.eu/cms/en/index.html

  • Satellite C660D - cannot install the update of JAVA

A month ago, I bought this Satellite C660D there is a JAVA version 20 on the laptop now I tried 3 weeks to opgrade for 26 version but it is not possible?

I tried everything: JavaRa - offline install - beside that I tried to install version 21 unfortunetly no chance

I have no idea furthere please help

    Best regards

    Axel

    Hey Buddy,

This confusion of s and something is wrong here Java version 20 is not available. Latest Java version is version 6 and 27 update. You can download Java 6 Update 27 here:
    http://www.Java.com/en/download

Is not necessary to uninstall the old version, just start the configuration file and that s it.

    Then, I have two questions:
    1. Why do you want to update your Java version?
    2. why can you install a more recent? You get an error message?

  • Satellite C660D-13 q - need drivers for Windows XP

    Hello

    A Toshiba Satellite C660D-13 q (PSC1YE).

In the BIOS I changed the controller SATA from AHCI to Compatibility Mode to allow the installation of Windows XP. In AHCI mode during the installation, I am getting blue screen all the time.
(Besides - is it possible to install Win XP on SATA control Mode switched on AHCI?)

I installed Windows XP SP3 and I need drivers, especially for Bluetooth - I tried BT-stack - toshiba.zip of the file (after unpacking: v80012T_20110809_x32.exe size: 38 786 027 bites) of Toshiba server but it does not work.

I can find drivers for Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit) - why Toshiba does not support Windows XP - some applications and games still does not work on Windows 7, and I guess that never will.

Is there a necessary chipset/APU driver for this laptop because it is based on the new processor of merger, which combine the CPU and the GPU to a single processor architecture called an APU (AMD E-240 of CPU and GPU AMD HD 6310)?

    > I can find drivers for Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit) - why Toshiba does not support Windows XP
Good question, but I m you know very well why.
Offer Windows 7 Microsoft has set new standards for integrated hardware and, in general, your laptop is designed for Win7.

Win XP is history and if you check other manufacturers of portable none of them offer full support driver for Windows XP Home edition. I highly recommend to forget WXP and use original Win7 preinstalled.
Support for the old operating system is obviously not profitable and costs a lot of money so I put t think any laptop manufacturer will spend money for it.

  • Satellite C660D - 1 3 - How to remove the HARD drive password?

So, my laptop is unrecoverly dead ;(
    (Toshiba Satellite C660D - 1-3)
but the HARD drive still works (Toshiba HDD2L04 320)
the problem is, I protected with a password that I can not turn off.

I have the password, I could also save all my important files to an old crappy HP laptop running.

But now I'd like to use it as an external drive, I can't as long as it is protected (I tried a few PC, nothing worked).

When I try to disable it in the BIOS of the old HP, it asks me on a second password, a password for the master user... but I've never had one in my Toshiba :/

What now? What I have to go to a store and try an another Toshiba or is it a tool to disable the password of windows or linux?

    Hello

Unknown HARD disk password can not be removed... even the authorized service provider Toshiba will not be able to remove this password disk HARD unknown.
In this case, the HARD drive will be useless

Take a look at this FAQ from Toshiba:
