Satellite C855-1TF - boot BSOD "unmountable boot volume".

It's the only occurrence that it happened, I tried to use a disc of windows 7 comes to boot from, to access the command prompt and try a disk check, but I'm unable to cross the loading animation windows such that it hangs at this point. There is nothing of importance on the drive so a re - install is not a big problem.

    Hello

I agree with Guybrush. The error seems to be related to the boot file system is defective and new resettlement could help.

As we have already mentioned, the Toshiba Recovery CD could be controlled using the adresse_web above.
If you are owner of an old series of laptop then the recovery CD could be ordered in the local ASP.

But generally, you can use a Microsoft operating system CD too.
You could install windows using this CD and all Toshiba drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

  • Satellite Pro L10 - Unmountable Boot Volume

My Satellite Pro L10 loops in the boot process. After the Windows XP splash screen, the following error messages appears:... Unmountable boot volume... Technical information: Stop: 0x000000ED...

I know that is nothing exceptional and do a full restore would solve the problem. But I don't want to lose the data (which are of course not saved). I tried a Windows XP disk, but it does not start from the cd/dvd drive by pressing F12 or <0>and change the boot order...

    Can anyone help please?

    Hello

Hmm, the volume not mountable startup error message appears especially if the HARD drive may not be recognized during initialization. Why? Well, maybe the HARD drive failures or the master boot record is defective!

If you don t want to recover the laptop, you can try to boot from the XP CD (C press immediately after switching on the laptop) and to start the repair console.

In the repair console, you can use the command chkdsk/p and after that, you could fix the disk main boot using the fixboot command or / and fixmbr.

If this does not help, the new installation of the OS is that you as a last resort.

PS: If you want to save the data you can try to remove the HARD drive and try to connect it via external USB HDD controller to another computer.

  • HP DV7-7338ea Windows 8 Unmountable Boot Volume BSOD

The product concerned here is a HP DV7-7338ea with Windows 8 operating system. I used it for just under 11 months and bought with Windows 8 is installed.

    Description of the problem:

I recently installed a new sound update for my laptop. I was asked to reboot and once that happened, I got a BSOD with error message: unmountable boot volume. When this happens, it restarts and goes into mood "automatic repair of preparation", after which the screen goes black and shows of slider windows and then what is it. I find myself with no options or anything. I tried pressing F11 at startup upward, then he said "Please wait" and goes back to the same black screen. I left on during more than an hour, but it just stays there until my man turns off the warm-ups (this has never happened before). I have not installed recently something back outside of the HP update. Please help because I don't know what to do now. I didn't save my files again, and they are too important to me to lose.  Thank you

    Update:

I ran a check of the system, and it says that the DST of short Hard Drive failed. Does that mean I lost my files? The laptop was working fine until this last update HP who may have damaged my hard drive.

A DST short drive hard failure means that, either your hard drive is faulty or were not together.

If you are still under warranty, contact your retailer or HP local store and get a replacement hard drive that you can change yourself or have it sent service.

If you have a competent friend IT, you may be able to recover some data on the computer.

You can try to remove the hard drive of your computer and its connection to his own.

Please let me know how it works.

  • BSoD Unmountable Boot Volume error message

This morning my laptop was running slowly and I executed a forced shutdown. When you turn on the computer, I kept getting a blue screen with the error message "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME". All the options I tried met the same fate. I have the recovery disk and tried to use it to fix the system. However, after stopping race/spinning drive, only a black screen remained and remained it up to with no progress for more than 3 minutes more. I don't remember what is the code, but I'll take a look later, when I try again with the recovery disc to attempt to repair the system. I have looked through all the answers to previous questions to the BSoD Unmountable Boot Volume error and see if it is of help.

Are there suggestions more with this issue? I try to keep spending as cheap as possible. Thank you.

    Hello

    Try the steps listed here

Thanks, but I already went out a bought a new computer. I'll keep these steps in mind if I encounter this error again.

  • Satellite A100: Windows won't start no-Unmountable Boot Volume

My son has a Satellite A100 under Windows XP SP3. Windows is not going beyond the Windows logo screen and ends with a Unmoutable Boot Volume + message.

After what has happened, the status of the disk in the BIOS password is + HDD password frozen +. Note that the HARD drive does not have a user defined password.

What is happening here and how is it fixed?

Can you start laptop in safe mode with F8?
The HARD drive password is strange to me.

In this situation what you can try is to start the repair console in the Windows XP installation disc and try to fix it. Problem is that Toshiba computers laptops come with recovery discs only.
Try to get the installation of Microsoft WXP disc and try with this repair option.

  • Satellite P100-347: blue screen at startup - unable to boot volume

Recently, I left my 2 younger brothers playing NFS Carbon on my satellite P100-347, pre-installed with media center edition 2005, and now it fails to start.

During the process of possibly starting a blue screen appears for about a second and then it shutsdown (I managed to make the words "unable to boot volume" on the basis of the blue screen).

I tried to boot with a XP media center DVD but it gives me only a possibility of reinstalling the operating system with a cost of losing all my important data. Normally I would have picked up the system, but I don't want to lose my data.

Can I do other than take it to a technician?

    Hello

Well, for the most part the BSOD appears due to hardware problem or serious software.
In your case, the software problem is possible

Unfortunately, I think that the new installation of the OS is the best way to get the laptop works properly.
Now, you want to know how to record data and the files well, I think that you should remove the laptop HARD drive and must try to connect the 2.5 HDD via external USB controller to another computer. Then you can save the files to the other HARD disk

I think, now, you know that regular backups are important and necessary!

  • UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME

I have an old Dell D510 latitude which I am trying to reactivate, but at startup, I get the blue "screen of death" with the error message "Unmountable Boot Volume". What is stored on the laptop that I have been saved a long time ago. How can I start this laptop upward even if if means reinstall all software.

old computer of my wife with xp professional, a BSOD. XP has been loaded after repairs but no disc or came back with her floppy and her previous husband did not have any disk repair. I followed the information and made a cd using the given sites. Fix the MBR to be not hard drive cd and put the cd in. He ran until the "press any key to boot from CD' here but at this time, none of the keys on the keyboard make an impression and came once again, the message"press any key... ". "and everything is then returned to BSOD. Other tips.

I have a friend with xp home on his machine, but like me there no discs or floppy. can I get a disc repair/diskette by using his machine, though there was xp home and I have xp professional? If so how is this done?

  • Satellite L850-B139 - not mounted boot Volume error

I get an error message of boot Volume not mounted on my Windows which I've updated to Windows 10. While I fix this problem, it needs to insert the restore disc but unfortunately I don't have the disk. I tried to download the recovery media via the Toshiba Support Service, but it is not available since I buy this in the Middle East. Please help me find or where I can download the recovery disc. My laptop model is Satellite-L850-B139 part number: PSKDLV-0E700UAR

    Thank you

You can order on the site of Toshiba recovery disks.

Win10 is not supported on this model.

  • Satellite C855 - 2 FG is not booting UEFI

    Hello world!

I would ask that the laptop Toshiba Satellite C855-2 FG cannot start mode UEFI? Or he will be put in a new update of the BIOS?

Before ask you, there no a favourable UEFI or secure boot option in the BIOS.

    Thanks for the replies!

If the BIOS does not include UEFI or the secure boot option, then the changes are unnecessary.
You should be able to start or install windows systems (Win 7, Win 8.1, etc.) without making any changes in the BIOS.

  • Satellite C855-1st wont even boot BIOS

Hi guys I really could do with some help.

I have a toshiba satellite c855-1st. I came to him today and it wouldn't start at all.
When I hit the power button I get a white light solid on the front but nothing happened.

I googled my problem and I tried all the "remove the battery, hold power 60 seconds, try new etc etc' advice, no plan for me.

So I decided to demolish everything and managed to get the system tries to boot (hdd light lights, fans spin, display lights etc.) but I just get a black screen for 30secs then it stops. Ive tried to remove the cmos battery, remove, Exchange and alternate the 2 ram sticks but still no joy.

When I put back it together but it goes back to just the white led (no fans etc.). I discovered that when I unplug the keyboard, then it will try to start but fail after 30secs. It does not seem to be still "ad".

I find the keyboard very strange thing and the only thing preventing me from believing that my motherboard is dead...

can someone please shed some light on this for me. Thank you

.. .but I just get a black screen for 30secs then it stops. Ive tried to remove the cmos battery, remove, Exchange and alternate 2 ram sticks but still no joy
.. .thing keeps me from believing that my motherboard is dead...

I'm afraid you might have reason... it's just my personal opinion, but if the laptop does not start using new, good work RAM modules, then the motherboard could be the troublemaker...

  • Qosmio G20 - Unmountable Boot Volume

    Hi all

My G20 starts, I get the standard screen of Windows XP, then a vile blue screen of death, then a message "unmountable boot volume" still more hideous. The systems recovery disc is not an option because he wants to clean up the entire disk.

Is there a software I can burn it to a cd, which will allow me to start and run a type scandisk/chkdsk program to try to repair the drive? I have fond memories of the Norton Utilities programs type which unfortunately seems to have disappeared. Otherwise, I assume that the reader must go out, be "caddied" and operated in my desktop pc, where I can download repairers adapted on the net?

Am I missing the point with the drive to "recover", IE there facilities to try to recover the data on the disk, rather than rinse?

    Thank you
    Dude

    Hi mate,

There is not much to say, I have the solution for you: UBCD4Win (www.ubcd4win.com)

It s simply a CD image of gorgeus with a Windows XP as the basis, so download, burn, and secure your data or repair your file system.
I saved a lot many damaging HDD´s, data and everything I know with this really useful tool.

    Good luck buddy

  • Satellite A100-259 WinXP - BlueScreen Unmoutable Boot-Volume

For computer laptop brother does not start in any mode etc. (safe), blue screen flashes up a quick "Unmountable Boot Volume"message before disappearing.

There is no option to "Repair" in the advanced options that hit the F8 key at startup.
The only thing it says that there is a Toshiba cd "Recovery", - I migrated to a Mac but thought long ago you at least got the o/s on cd with Windows?

If as I fear the recovery disk allows you to create a "Bootable" cd then I know that he did not make this option.

All the advice - MUCH APPRECIATED, as I had very little hair before that.

    See you soon

If I can borrow another one of these laptops to a family member, I'd be able to create a "bootable" from the recovery disk cd, that my brother has on their laptop - this "recovery" cd would work on his machine?
    ANY help appreciated
    See you soon
