Satellite L10 (WinXP SP2): conflict of controllers PCI device

Hello
On startup, I get the following from the BIOS error message:

"Resource conflict. PCI on the motherboard. Bus: Device function 02:01:00 "

I can't fix it in the settings of the BIOS as those who are really rare.
If I press 'summary', the loading process continues without further problems.
The Windows Device Manager sees not all conflicts. The device mentioned in the error message is represented as a 'Universal Cardbus controller'. It reappears if I try to remove it.

Sometimes (for example in safe mode) instead of this device Windows detects the "Texas Instruments PCI 1410 Cardbus controller" Device Manager Then the BIOS error message disappears, but once I reboot in normal mode the "universal Cardbus controller" is displayed again.

The real problem is that the computer crashes often enough, who have not appeared before. I know, maybe that's another reason, but I'm trying to fix this first, because it is an obvious problem.

Is there some configuration options of the utilities that provide deeper BIOS?

Sometimes, the inserted PCMCIA card could cause these error messages!
Please check this!

  • Impossible to send E-mail on Satellite A100 WinXP SP2

    Hi all

    just found this forum.
I have the Satellite A100 Windows XP sp2 and I'm unable to send e-mail to certain addresses (yahoo among others - recipients rejected by the server).
After several long sessions with my ISP tech (ntlworld) support that seemed to be the best advice that all is OK with my settings on the server and I need to look for a solution elsewhere.

I was using Outlook Express as my email application so tried Mozilla's Thunderbird to see if this helped - no improvement, unfortunately.
Windows updates all installed. I approach approaching the limit of my knowledge, help/advice or pointers in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

  • Satellite L10-204 does support mini PCI slot?

    Hello, all.
In a first time - sorry for my English ;-)
I would like to install a wireless card and I don't know if my computer (Toshiba Satellite L10-204) have a mini PCI slot? I prefer the mini PCI card PCMCIA card, because in my opinion, they are better in some aspects.
    DRM for me, cheers!

    Hmm? ¦ bad news man.
The wireless card is not available on this laptop and it cannot be upgraded too.
This means that WLan minPCI slot is not present.

You will need to switch to an external solution. Maybe an external USB WiFi key is an option for you. If this isn't the case, then you can use the PCMCIA WLan card!

  • Satellite L10: I want to install a wireless connection - how?

I have a satellite L10... and I want to install a wireless connection on the help on the config free pages it is said that the alternative "quick connect" appears after the installation of the projector toshiba wireless... it is what? and is anyone knows how I can do this without getting more confused?

    Hello

    It's Toshiba projector Wireless:
    http://www.ProjectorCentral.com/Wi-fi_toshiba_tlp-T501.htm
As you can see it's not a fast connection wireless card or something like that.

First of all, it would be very interesting to know the name of your unit, because I know if your laptop has a wireless card or if it of possible to update the device with the Mini-PCI Wireless card.

If your laptop has a wireless card so you need activate the wireless antenna. The switch on the side of the unit, you should find. In addition, choose the wifi with the FN + F8 key combination.
Well, now you have an AccesPoint in your neighborhood. If there isn't one available then you should see it. Go to network connections. Here, you must select the list of wireless network in network and refresh.

But if you have a wireless card so you need to upgrade your laptop with the minPCI card, or the wireless USB stick or a PCMCIA wireless card

  • Some problems with the LAN on Satellite L10 card after BIOS update

    Hello

I have a problem with my satellite L10. Map does not work after the installation of the new network of edge of Bios (2.80).
I tried it on Linux, BSD and WinXp. OS see my net card.
I can even install parameters and ping 127.0.0.1 and my ip.

But all the other pool spoke to me query time-out.

    Help me please.

    Hello

What to say I put t think that this could be linked to the BIOS. First of all, as you said that the LAN card is recognized correctly in the device if Manager she s works well!

However, you could try to access the BIOS and could set the BIOS default settings. Don t forget to save changes to BIOS ;)

In addition, it would be advisable to reinstall the NIC driver. The Toshiba driver page provides the Realtek LAN driver v5.618.1015.2004.

  • Satellite L10-119 - Win XP green bar is happening and happening again

    Hi all.

I have a computer model toshiba satellite L10-119.

It was working great until some time he began to delay a lot at the start.
Specifically in the Win XP loading screen that this green bar is happening and happening again and again.

I have if it can be a program or driver or even a virus that delays the start after some effort I decided to do a format and therefore a clean install of Win Xp (using the supplied by Toshiba with the notebook installation CD).

Everything has been installed perfectly, and indeed this laptop has been commissioning within a normal period...

When I turned on the laptop the next morning he started to again delay the start to the top! Once again to the Win Xp loading screen!

When he finally connected to Windows I did immediately a reboot but this time it starts very well!

Just to sum up things... computer laptop .the delays at startup ONLY if I leave it off for a long period of time (i.e. for a day or more). And as in the first start! If it starts the first time and session windows logs I can stop or restart for as many times as I like (consequtively) and it connects without any delay.
However, if I let him off for a day or more and then turn it on, this model a lot to log windows! And we are talking about a 4-5 minute wait time! The waiting time is increased according to the time that the laptop has switched from...

I tried to install winXP even using another CD but I still have the same problem.
I though it was a battery problem, so I removed completely, but I still have the same problem...

FYI the laptop is always in the power socket. And FYI when it connects to windows performance is also great. No delay at all. The only delay is starting...

If anyone could help me or has an idea how to solve this really strange problem I'd appreciate much.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I guess it's very old notebook and I think that the HARD drive was not replaced in the last time
It s only I guess, but I think you should check if the HARD drive does not start to malfunction.
I doubt that there could be something wrong with the battery because the battery would not affect the start-up procedure it has no influence on the performance of the OS.

So it could be either something wrong with the part as a HARD drive, you know

You can try to download the HDD drive fitness test.
This tool is free and it will help you check the HARD disk for errors

  • Satellite L10 - B - Toshiba Service Station does not

I have a Toshiba Satellite L10 - B with Windows 8.1, that I bought for my wife. Expiry of the additional phone support, and I need help.

Since I bought the computer, I am wondering how to check updates from Toshiba. I finally found out there is a program called Toshiba Service Station that is supposed to automatically check for updates, but I've not yet seen this program, or notifications of him.

I went looking for using the search function, and now I know where to find.

Just today, I tried to manually check the updates of Toshiba using Toshiba Service Station, but it is coming up with an error message indicating that the program has not been initialized and I need to restart or reinstall the program. I tried to reinstall the program from the Web site, and I still get the same error message.

    Where to go from here?

I currently have a different problem but with my Toshiba service station on my Toshiba laptop Satellite P70 - A laptop computer 8.1.

I got when Windows 10 free update became available. Had improved to 10 Windows. I had some problems with my Toshiba since the upgrade. But I'll fix it in another thread.

The problem I have is the Toshiba Service Station as well. I received an alert notification in the Notification Center of Toshiba Service Station. That there was some new updates to download and install. I opened the Toshiba Service Station. A click on the download button. Wait for the download progress bar of progress overall. But he did not download the download progress bar was not even download an update of size small file for one of the Intel drivers. I'm like waiting and waiting for the progress bar fill. But only see an inch of the bar filled. The update has more than 300 MB to download. My internet speed is fast. So I don't know what's taking so long to download.

Please tell me what I need to do?

I installed the Realtek driver http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads

I also tried to install the InProComm driver, but the installer crashes just after a while.

    Hello

What operating system do you use?
I checked Toshiba driver download page and looked for the driver for Satellite L10. Here, I can only find a driver Intel WLAN for Vista and the driver InProComm for XP but I can t find a Realtek WLAN driver.
It seems that your laptop is equipped with an Intel card check so the Toshiba site again:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Before you install the driver WLAN make sure that WIFI is turned on with the hardware switch on the computer laptop and FN + F8.

  • Satellite L10-226, what memory inside?

    Hello

I am interested in buying a portable satellite L10-226, but it has only 256 MB of DDR Ram. For this reason I will update the Ram 512 MB DDR - Ram after buying. What memory does Toshiba use for this model (Timings/speed/producer)?
If I get a 512 MB DDR - Ram inside and sell the original 256 MB Modul, is there any warranty issue, if the laptop has a defect or I am authorized to change memory by myself?

    Thanks for your help,

    Kind regards

    BoLzI

    Hello

I can't find any specific details for the L10-226, but I found some information for the L10-224, which has two available RAM slots and uses 1 x 256 MB module or module 1 X 512 MB, leaving 1 spare slot.

If you L10 - 226 has this configuration so your cheapest upgrade would be to add a second 256 MB module to the second slot giving you a total of 512 MB. The module for this is 200-pin PC2700 (333 Mhz) DDR SODIMMreference number PA3311U-1 M 25

The module of 512 MB is PA3312U-1 M 51part number.

The mnodules of RAM are components replaceable by the user so changing them will not affect your warranty at all. However, if your computer is then sevelops a fault with the modules of RAM, then you would not be able to get them has changed under warranty Toshiba, you must return yourself to the vendor from whom you got their.
