Satellite L10 wireless switch does not

Hi all
the button on the front does not now activate wireless. Is it possible to remove/down to access this button and see if I can repair/renew.
If so, that screws can I remove or more to the point which screws do I have not touch!
Each shot a L10 outside and if yes is there a hidden screw?
Thank you

Great info!

    Hello

First of all, you should check if the wireless network adapter is recognized in Device Manager and if WLan driver has been installed correctly.
In the Manager of devices-> network cards, you should see the wireless network card.

If it comes to a case then the wireless network card is installed OK.
If this isn't the case, then you must install a Wlan driver. For this Toshiba page check us because Sam a205 is U.S. laptop series.

After that, you must enable the wireless network adapter. There is a Wlan switch on the side of the laptop (frontside?). Allow it! WLAN LED should be on.
You will need to use FN + F8 to switch to the Wlan.

After that, you need to configure the WLan settings. Must be the good name of WiFi (SSID), the right encryption and the encryption password.

PS: I recommend reading some threads here on the forum too!

    Welcome them

  • Tecra S1: Rf Ubuntu wireless switch does not work

    Hi all

I recently bought an Intel mini-PCI wifi card for my Tecra S1 under Ubuntu. It is detected without any problem, Intel provides even native drivers for Linux. However, the hardware to activate wireless switch does NOT work. According to iwconfig, the radio is off. I use the ipw2200 driver which can detect the hardware and the software rf_kill. I can enable and disable software killing RF, but kill him material stays on.

I suspect that the radio feature is disabled in the BIOS but I don't have Windows running on the laptop over to change the setting. Is it possible to access BIOS options under linux? Toshutils are not supported by the tecra because she seems to have a Phoenix BIOS.

    I hope you can help!

    Edwin...

    Hello

Tecra S1 supports BIOS Toshiba you can access BIOS by pressing ESC at the beginning of the startup.
In any case I think you won't find anything in the BIOS.

If you are not able to use the switch of material on the side of the laptop then the Wlan card is not compatible or the hardware switch is malfunctioning. I would say that the card is not supported.

Maybe the insulation of the 13 pin might help please check that this son:

Please can someone tell me the possibole solution?

    concerning

    Salahaddin

    Hello

    I agree with resident.
The Wlan switch on the side of the laptop has all the drivers and it works independently of the installed software!

The FN + F8 key combination that allows the WLan should work on if install you value added package.

You should also check if the WLan card is set on IT in Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab WLan card.

The switch will beep when pushed. Network troubleshooting indicates the card is not activated. Card is always detected in windows.

I feel that this indicates that the card has failed. Any thoughts?

    > Card is always detected in windows.
    Does that mean exactly?
WLan is listed in Device Manager?
And if SO, have you tried reinstalling the WLan driver again?

If you tried that, do it!
Uninstall the Wlan driver (in Device Manager), download the latest driver WLan driver Toshiba page, install the driver, reboot the laptop and try to set up the connection.

    Hello

First of all, you should check if the wireless network adapter has been properly recognized in Device Manager.

Otherwise->, reinstall the WLan card driver
If Yes,-> check the TCP\IP protocol properties if everything on automatic

    I put t know how you have configured the wifi but there were two possibilities;
You used the Windows's own configuration options or you used a tool 3rd as Intel ProSet or Atheros client utility.

Generally, you should check all simple options such as the SSID, WLan encryption, mac address filtering, etc to know what s wrong.

  • Re: Satellite Pro U400 PSU41E - com wireless switch does not work after Win7

    Hello

I did an upgrade from 32-bit Windows 7 Professional (clean install) to my SatPro this week, and almost everything is fine. I reinstalled Win7 readers listed on this site and my software with no obvious problems. I say almost because the switch for wireless on the front of the unit has stopped working.

Previously with the switch pushed to the left of that internal map could be put off, it remains now on. The light goes out! The wireless card works OK and connect to home and office wifi networks, but I can not turn off when connected using a connection cable.

Any thoughts on how to restore the switch function? I have looked for the readers, but cannot identify all.

    Thank you

    Hello

Once, I had this problem on my A500. I pressed Fn + F8 to disable wifi and switch pushed to the left, in any case just to play with it. In my case, it helped me.

  • Data satellite Pro 6100 wireless switch does not

I just rebuilt my 6100 with xp professional, but now will not turn my switch wireless on! Which means that I can not get the Wi - Fi connection and I can't install the bluetooth drivers... anyone have any ideas?

    Hello

What switch do you mean? Do you mean the switch on the side of the laptop or the FN F8 key combination?
Usually after the operating system installation, you will need to install the WLan card driver and the FN keys to use the FN combination.
Check Device Manager if the wireless network card is installed correctly.
If you need drivers Toshiba then please visit the Toshiba driver page.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - wireless adapter does not work - Vista

I recently had some problems with my laptop.
A couple of weeks, I put in a disc of OpenSuse.
It's not stable anything, but locked me out of my original Vista operating system.

I reinstallled Vista Home Basic, but there are a few problems.
Mainly, my wireless adapter does not work.

When I flip the button to turn it on nothing happens and it is not recognized in Windows.
I installed Atheros Driver, but still nothing happens, light is not yet.

    Any advice?

    Hello

First check the device-> network adapters area manager
You see the WLan card? Or the unknown device appears?

If there is an unknown device, then the WLan driver has not been installed correctly or you tried to install a driver badly these two options are possible.

Remember that your wireless network card? Maybe it was a Realtek WLan card?

If it's a Realtek WLan card, try the WLan driver from the Realtek website and look for 802.11 g (RTL8187B) chip or you will simply check the page of the European driver Toshiba too the Realtek WLan driver also appeared on the Toshiba page

  • Satellite Pro C660-1NQ does not detect the WLan network

    Hi guys,.

We have a Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-1NQ here that does not at all, detect the wireless network
I checked the Device Manager and the wireless card does not show here.

I tried scanning for new hardware, but nothing was found. I tried to turn the wireless off tension with the function and the keys F8 but not yet showing in Manager devices or any new hardware...

Any ideas as to what I can try next?

    See you soon,.
    Ash

    Hello

It seems that the laptop would support the Wlan Atheros 802.11agn card.
Usually the Atheros Wlan card must appear in Device Manager as on the menu network cards.
If it s not appear do not then I recommend that you install the WLAN driver which can be downloaded here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/?page=downloads

Choose the Atheros Wireless LAN Adapter Windows 7 (32/64) 9.2.0.419.0 or newer
I hope this helps to detect the WiFi chip!

  • WRTU54G-TM: switch does not connect

I have a WRTU54G-TM router that allows PCs to connect directly via its LAN ports without problem.  However, whenever I connect to a switch, this switch does not have a good connection.  I tried several different CAT5 cables and two switches.  The two switches work fine when I take the router out of the loop.

    Here's the catch...

The router is brand new, I thought it was a problem with the last router.  The company that I got helped me to solve this by phone and concluded that the LAN ports are bad.  Apparently, we were both wrong, that the problem persists.

I tried with RIP enabled for LAN and "Both", but to completely disable RIP.

    Any ideas?

To answer your question, Yes.  Yet the answer to my original question was in fact much simpler...

Usually, I'm the only person in my house that affects my home network.  However, when there was a blip in the Internet just before this happened, the mistress of the House decided to help him out he willingly.  Needless to say, it was without direction and without good knowledge of what to do.  His diagnosis consisted of see the end of a CAT5 cable sitting near the switch.  Since you apparently have a House, she hooked up to the switch.  Unfortunately, the other end of the same cable was ALSO connected to the switch.  This creates a Terminal loop for all traffic based on cable, while wireless works fine.

    Leason learned...  Check your cables.
