Satellite L300-1CU / problem with the start-up of the machine

Hi people,

Today, when I turned on my computer, I met a message:

* "Could not start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.*

* Launch Startup Repair *.
Start Windows normally "

Now, when I choose launch start up repair, he said:

* "Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer, this error can be caused by unplugging a removable device software such as a USB drive external unit is used, or by a defective hardware such as a hard drive or CD-ROM drive that is failing.*

* Status: 0xc00000e9 *.

* Info: An unexpected i/o error has occurred. » *

Now, in case anyone is wondering how I can make this post while the laptop is not able to start up, I use my old system.

I hope someone can shed some light on this problem for fix me everything simply.

Thanks in advance.

Hello

I can't say for sure what the problem is here, but I guess that somehow HDD is stopped working and it is not available for the system somehow.
Try please enter the BIOS settings and set the default value. After this try to restart the laptop.

Please post the result.

  • Satellite U400 - 10L: problem with the start-up & reboot

    Hello

Well I don't like much about the touchpad overheating but I have a problem. When I restart this mobo instead of activate after a reboot it stays black without any reaction only lower diods, dvd - rom and the display flashes (can't hear fan or hard drive).

If I press the power button / stop all the icons of diod (ac, pwr, hdd bat) shine up just for a second and new (can't hear the fan hard drive or cpu) computer does not turn on. All this happened only when AC cable is connected to the power if I use just notebook power source battery boots and restart without problems.

If I remove battery completely from the laptop, once more, I get the same symptoms (cannot start). And the saddest part of this story is the fact that I got brand new Toshiba U400 10 L to the seller and got a new.
It has the exact same problem.
As you all probably understand im crazy because in the last two days, I tried really everything, including the BIOS without flashing and the success.

Well im not sure whats going on, but this could be the problem with the battery or a bad contact?
    Any ideas?
    I would return it back?

    Thanks much for the reply

    Hello

The behavior of your laptop is really strange and I suppose it might be bound only to a hardware problem.

A friend of mine couldn't t start the laptop connected to the AC adapter the power adapter is faulty. It was only possible to start Notepad using the battery, and only if the battery was not completely empty.

I put t know if your AC adapter failures but the authorized service provider should definitely check out the laptop and accessory for laptop (AC adapter).

Then call the ASP in your country and ask the technicians for later handling.

  • Satellite U500-17F: problems with the new HARD drive

Hi everyone, I got some troubleshooting with my Satellite and a new drive, I bought recently, because that is already damaged because of too many bad sectors. One is a Western Digital Scorpio Black 320 Bg (WD3200BEKT model number). It should be a fast reader but is not with my Satellite.

After having mounted the drive in the laptop, I ran a new installation (with full disk format} Windows 7 (64 bit) with all the necessary drivers (that I downloaded directly from the Page of Support Toshiba.)

The problem is that the laptop needs a lot of time to start and also to disable, and whenever I try to run an application or start a program (for example Firefox, or just a few windows applications), the laptop freezes for about 30 to 60 seconds, the drive no longer works (you can hear leaders put in position 'parking' and the HDD LED control is constant) ", no lights flashing).

It seems that the drive (during this 30-60 seconds) in something as a stand-by mode. I ran a few Western Digital diagnostic tools and the car looks all right to 100%. It works also without any problems in the other laptop (HP Pavilion DV6500). Could this be a problem with the controller (Intel ICH9M - E ATA AHCI controller) driver?

    Any suggestion?
    Thanx

    Hello

You use the latest version of the BIOS?
Please check if you need a BIOS update. Of course I read in a few discussions on the similar question of Win XP you use Win 7 but its value to check the update of the BIOS and U500 series.

In addition, I recommend check you the power of Windows 7 options.
Disable in the power profile that you use power saving HDD.

    Just a question:
You use the option AHCI in the BIOS?
As far as I know it of possible to use either a compatible SATA AHCI mode.
AHCI must be used because this option would use full SATA performance.

  • Satellite L300 - recovery ends with the error message: 10-FA1Z - 045D

My Satellite L300 is 3 months old and one a few days ago I resorted to the use of the 4 recovery DVDs.
After several hours, I get an error: 10-FA1Z - 045D message. I made 3 attempts and get the same message every time.

    Any suggestions?

My only suggestion for that is you should contact the closest service provider authorized as soon as possible. I am not sure what can be the problem, but it must be HARD drive issue or a problem with the recovery image.

In both cases, you will get free and if necessary service service can order new DVD of facilities of recovery for you.
Do not wait too long and vase your time with her. Call the nearest service tomorrow and talk to them.

  • Satellite C40D-C - problems with the system

I recently bought an a toshiba satellite C40D-C Series notebook PC as my old satellite - essentially - is dying. After you connect to the internet, I tried to download AVG Antivirus on my computer that I don't have - and never - trust McAfee anti-virus that comes with the computer. Every time downloaded AVG then restart my computer, the computer goes directly into the automatic repair system and doesn't let me do anything but to reset or restore. This has happened even with completely removed McAfee. I've been on AVG directly today (January 15), and they have to do remote set-up for me - with the same results. Yes, I'm aware that McAfee is a selfish cry of a system and refuses to acknowledge any other antivirus, but that this issue happens even with completely removed McAfee shows clearly that it is something that Toshiba has worked in the system. I can't even disable the automatic repair tool. I have to be stuck with a McAfee antivirus which, moreover, does not yet or is Toshiba will make an effort to help solve a problem they caused?

Why this computer isn't allowing AVG Antivirus work? And why, after each attempt to download AVG, the computer goes to auto repair whenever I shut down or restart? Is this a problem with the system or something, Toshiba has done on purpose?

Windows Dectet my monitor properly (plug-and-play), and my screen resolution works well for: 1366 x 768 and 800 x 600.
on the other hand, when I start a game I have only the choice between these two resolution: 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768...

All the games don t fit the full screen and there is always a black area on the right and left.

Some games (crash)... and I thought it made a link with said that I have only 2 resolution.

    OS: win 7 32 bit

I hope someone can help me find a solution
    Thanks in advance

    Hello

I put t know what games you want to play, but generally speaking, it of also depending on the game you can use screen resolutions. For example if your game supports only 2 screen resolutions, you can only use these resolutions.

So all you can do is update the driver DirectX and display. Then, look for an update (patch) for the game.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite C850 - found problems with the networking and the FN key

    Hey everybody,

I work on a Satellite Toshiba C850, that my parents recently bought and spin in a certain number of questions.

    (1) wireless won't connect to my network. Have done the following: verified by connecting on two other computers, reset the router, the open network, reset the map, reinstalled the realtek drivers, checked the settings in the networking of Toshiba Utilities. End result is he's going to try, and fail. Wired LAN works fine.

    (2) FN key does not work. Have you checked the region and it is OK, have tried to use the Flash cards - no change, checked with the screen keyboard and can check the FN key does not register.

I noticed that the first problem is common, but there are obvious positive results. If anyone can offer any assistance, I would appreciate it a lot.

Before you begin to discuss your problems can you please tell us what OS you are using?
Are you using the original OS that you got with your laptop? I mean original recovery image has been tested and works correctly, with the factory settings that all should especially the FN keys.

1 / What do you mean with refusing? your WLAN is visible for your laptop?

2 / if there is problem with the feature keys FN and you use Win7 try please reinstall extra package from Toshiba.

  • Satellite C660D - a problem with the cooling system has been detected

My laptop is a * Toshiba Satellite C660D-11th * and I have a message that keeps coming up every once in a while 'alert system' head and reads as follows: "WARNING: a problem with the cooling system has been detected." (Next line) Please, turn off computer immediately and return it for service. »

I had this warning for the coming weeks and it tolerated, but it worsened and annoyed me for the last time. I can hear the fan and the computer is not over heating (the CPUCool freeware tool detects a 51º CPU temprature C). No further questions arise as the computer slows down, it is right in the path of what I do, like typing right now.

I tried to solve the problem by changing the "Power Options" in the control panel of Windows 7 'High Performance', and then selected under the 'battery' both 'Sector' columns, 'Never' for the parameter "put the computer to sleep. It seems to work, and no error message has occurred since then. However, this is not a solution...

Please help quickly, this prevents me from working and even other things now.

    Thank you

    Hello

Usually, this message would appear if something is not wrong with the cooling system. But I read here in the forum that maybe it's a bug of software and after new system recovery this message should no longer appear.

But if you notice some upper temperature or abnormal noises, then I recommend to check this with a service technician

  • Satellite A660 - 07P problem with the pointer of the mouse using the touchpad

I just bought my A660 07P last Thursday, September 15, 10 and I noticed that I had problems with the mouse pointer using the touchpad.

From time to time, the cursor/pointer is locked and seems something like a button up and down.
I assume it's because it's on a mode of waiting, but in this case as every 5 minutes.
When it is locked, it will also change the zoom percentage when the touchpad is struck. It is very not when I'm in the middle of something and I can not move the pointer. In addition, the start is very slow.

BTW, I have not installed any programs or applications. I'm still testing until Friday, otherwise I'll go back to where I bought it.

    Hi mate

    This isn't touchpad problem.
I guess as support for computer laptop MULTI-TOUCH PAD
There are a few additional features supported by touchpad, and I think that you have enabled this while using the touchpad

    The touchpad supports the features:
    _ChiralMotion_
You can scroll vertically and horizontally

    _Pinch Zoom_
This feature provides functionality like the scroll wheel zooming

    _Rotating (chiral spin) _
This provides gestures to rotate the photos and other objects

    _Momentum_
This feature provides a smooth, fast trackball as the movement of the mouse. A quick finger on the touchpad surface can move the sliders in the entire screen.

  • Satellite P100-347 - problem with the judgment during the game

    I have a problem with my (pspa6e) Satellite P100-347

After about 10 minutes of play time with games like battlefield 2, the SIMS2 and so on... my pc stops...
I knew it was close because of high gpu or cpu temp...

I felt that my laptop was warm, but after playing for a while its normal...

So I installed HWmonitor to check my gpu, CPU and disk hard temp...

    That's what I show:

    THRM: 61.C - 141.F

    CPU: core0\1 - two 64.C - 147.F

    GPU: turn 85 stable - 90.C
    This normal use... no games...

    HARD DRIVE: 39.C

Something must be wrong! GPU temp is too high?
I tried a fresh install of the OS...

Thnx for all the help and answers!

Hmm these times can be a little high.

Most likely there is dust in the radiator. You can use compressed air to remove it. Or as a miracle solution, blow into the vents dust closes in contrast to air circulation.

  • Satellite A300-1EG: problem with the touchpad after installing Windows 7

    Hello!

I had a problem with my touchpad since I installed Windows 7 (64-bit version) on my laptop (Toshiba) A300-1EG.

I tried many different solutions to this problem.
I checked the alignment of the touchpad (be it on) in the BIOS, I tried to install several drivers (on a site of Synaptics, automatically by Windows) and none of these work. Of course, I tried FN + F9 key combination.
When I check the alignment of the touchpad in the Control Panel, everything seems fine. It is written, that "device working properly.

I have Toshiba Software, what may be the cause of the problem?
But I have no idea where I can find something.

    I'd appreciate any help.

I hope to be understandable - English is not my mother tongue :) Thank you very much in advance for any ideas. :)

    Hi mate

I'm not quite sure what problem you have but you should first try to install the necessary drivers touchpad m.
Maybe you used the wrong driver in the past

So Sat A300-1EG belongs to the series of PSAG4E.
The European driver Toshiba page does not provide a special touchpad driver for Win 7 for this device.

But I noticed that Win 7 64 bit drivers touchpad (Alps & Synaptics) for Satellite L500 PSLS3E series is released on the European driver page.
Try both drivers Touch Pad for this device and test it!

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A100-773: problem with the installation of WinXP Pro

    Hello

I try to install Windows XP Prof on my new laptop A100-773 (Media WinXP Center preinstalled Edition). After that I put in the installation disk, restart the computer and then selected CD in the boot menu, it said something like "verification of hardware configuration". After that black screen and nothing more happens.

Also, I tried to start Linux (Knoppix) CD. Same problem, at some stage, the system stops and doesn't do anything.

Anyone has any idea how this problem could be solved?

Thanks a lot for your answers in advance.

    Kind regards

    Chris

    Hello

Have you tried to boot form CD recovery Toshiba or on the original CD of Microsoft?
The recovery installation CD should generally work without any problem.
In addition, if you want to retrieve the unit with the Toshiba Recovery CD you will get 2 modes. Standard and expert mode.

I guess the message because there might be something wrong with the hardware or any device. I would recommend to enter the BIOS and check the settings. You can also try the options default and safe change.

But first try to boot from the recovery CD.
