Satellite L300 - AC adapter is dead

Hi all

Please can you help me
My laptop (Satellite L300) was underpowered. So I pluged in charger & noticed the battery icon was not showing support.
I changed the fuse in the plug of charger & it still does not!

Is it possible to organize a collection & repair just for the charger, or I have to send the laptop as well?

Thank you to

Akuma is right. If the warranty is still valid contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider and explain the situation. They will help you and explain what you can do.

Just for info: compatible for Satellite L300 AC adapter part number PA3290E-3AC3. If you want to buy a new just put the number in Google and you'll find enough online shops where you can order one.

I am repairing a Satellite L300, which had a dead HARD drive. I replaced death 160 GB of HDD with a 500 GB WD, then used the recovery disks to install Windows Vista SP1 at the exit of the State of the box.

Now, Windows update does not work, won't install autonomous not of Vista SP2 I downloaded, MS Security Essentials moved there also.

To make it work with a 160 GB HARD drive, but not a 500 GB HARD drive. Why?

Usually after installing recovery image, you have just to connect laptop to internet and after a short period of time, you will get messages about available Windows updates. Just install the offered updates process automatic Waterer and install important updates only.

Let the system to install all the updates and don t force the installation of some own downloaded stuff.
Last month I've updated HARD drive (320 GB I think) and installed Win7 on friends L300 and I didn't noticed any problem here.

    Hi mate,

Just a simple question: have you activated the wireless network adapter using the hardware on the computer switch portable and key combination FN + F8?

Satellite L300 is permanently equipped with wireless network card because a friend of mine had the same specifications.

However, you should try to update the WLAN driver. Check the download page of the Toshiba driver for an update.

  • Satellite L300-145 - Lan Adapter disappeared

I have a satellite L300-145 that gave an error in Windows Vista. Installed Win XP and bios upgrade to 1, 50 - Win.

After that, my local network adapter (not the wireless, but the cable) disappeared from the Device Manager and the laptop does not stop, just reboot. If I go to the bios and disable the internal lan, the laptop stops.

    Any help on this?

    Hello

The laptop seems to support chip Realtek LAN.
First of all make sure that the LAN card is enabled in the BIOS!

So remember that the Realtek LAN driver has been installed correctly.
Before you install the network driver, connect the LAN of the laptop and check if the Ethernet (network card) controller appear in device under network adapters Manager.

In some cases if no network cable is connected to the LAN Jack, the system turns off the network adapter LAN to extend the operating time of the battery.

  • Satellite L300 is dead - the battery light blinks orange 6 times

Does anyone know what was the cause of this yellow flashing light?
I have the same problem with a Satellite L300.

Battery light flashes orange 6 times when I press the power button and nothing else happens. Dead laptop.
I just picked up a service guarantee yesterday where they replaced memory card and the mother.
He worked for 45 minutes then screen erased and won't turn on again.

    Anyone know about this problem?

    Hello

The blink code provides some kind of clerical error, and this error is not always the same.

Individual booklets are equiupped with different motherboards and provide different codes.

It looks like a hardware problem and therefore, you should contact the ASP again.

The warranty is still valid and you should take it!

Don t waste time own investigation but get in touch with the guys again and explain your situation and that this error has occurred again.

  • Satellite L300 install driver for USB 2.0 adapter - does that mean?

    Hi all

I have a Satellite L300 and the wireless works without any problems (except intermittent breaks in connectivity not experienced by other users of the netwrok). When I logged in this morning, I immediately get the following message:

Windos needs to install the software driver of USB2.0 WLAN adapter

I don't have a USB adapter, but the Realtek one standard. I tried to reinstall the Realtek driver nothing works. When I click on search and install the driver software, the system continues to search for hours without stopping.

Wireless networks are not accessible; the device does not work correctly.

    Anyone know what is happening?

    See you soon

    Anders

    Hello

He s strange because it sounds like you would use a WLan external stick.
But you use internal WLan card right?

I m not very well what s wrong, but it is worth to install the WLan driver.

First, you need to go to Device Manager and should remove the network card from Device Manager wireless, you will find it in the network controllers.
Then, you must restart the device.

After the reboot, Windows will ask the Wlan driver you should visit the page of the Toshiba driver and need to download the latest driver and then reinstall it.

  • [SOLVED] Satellite L300 wireless dead, suddenly stop, then won't power ON

Well, actually, that this post is NOT a question that I already found the solution, but it took me much time searching through forums (and in fact I had not found response), so I decided to post it here to help someone in the same situation later.

Ok.. I'm all new Satellite L300 laptop a week ago, which runs under WinXP SP2. First five days, everything was OK, but then I confronted the following symptoms:

-Material Wi - fi could disappear suddenly. After the restart, winXP found the map of wireless as a new device, but could not accept pilots (who has worked on OK again a few hours before).
-Notebook could stop 'tough' at any time and it is not in the CPU load. After that I could not turn on again than by pressing the power button only turned on CPU cooler. I had to wait for at least 30 min power turn on the laptop again.

So, I started to search the forums, and as a result, I was sure the reason was overheating of the CPU to 115.337%. It was strange for me that I could not find similar reports for satellite L300 on the web and even all dust cpu overheating reports for other models Toshiba II found - they all have been written on popular laptops, but I got mine just a week ago.

Since I didn't bring my laptop to the local service center and leave it there for a long time - I decided to locate the problem myself as much as I can and I finally found the reason:

    * He was one of the two Samsung modules of 1 GB of RAM installed in notebook.*

As I removed a suspect (2nd) - all symptoms have disappeared. As I removed another installed back suspicious as 1st - I even haven't been able to turn on the laptop. So, I deleted completely suspicious module and now I had no problem with laptop computers running more than 2 days (except the performance decreased due to the loss of memory of 50%).

Hope this is helpful to someone who has a similar problem whose symptoms may resemble the overheating of the CPU.

Really great job and a very nice display!

I have a Satellite L300 too but never had any problems with it. I'll put this in my favorites because it s very useful for people who have this problem.

    Hey Buddy

If you need help and you want other people to understand this problem, you must change your ad. Only you wrote the important thing is that you have Satellite L300. Nothing else.

I see you post in the category of Vista, so I assume that Vista is preinstalled. All that s.

What you have done in the past no word on this subject?
Do you use the original preinstalled Toshiba Vista or clean install no info.

Please be serious, provide information to better understand and I hope that we can continue to discuss later.

    Hello

Yes, probably the battery 9cell need more space under or behind your laptop battery 6 cells, but it should be.

With battery 9-cell, your laptop will get more high, in my view, it will look like on [THIS | http://cdn.slashgear.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/msi_wind_9-cell_battery_1.jpg] a

    Hi Jodie!

Have you tried to update the driver for wireless network? On the Toshiba WLAN portal, you can find the most recent version that should work on your laptop:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

I'm not sure, but you should look in the BIOS. Perhaps there is an option if wireless LAN where you can enable or disable WLAN.
    Check it!

In addition, I recommend also updated the BIOS, and if nothing can help launch you the Toshiba recovery disc. You will receive the factory settings where everything should work fine.

    > I thought I fixed this problem last night.
I think you're talking about your first thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=165938

    > Edit: just checked the setting of energy-saving and saw the box "allow the computer to turn this device to save power" has been checked, I uncheck the to solve my problem?

You certainly need to deselect this option because if she checked s then the cell phone would turn off / Unplug the WLan card to save battery.

  • Satellite L300 PSLBGE Vista 64bits - WLan disconnects at random times

    Hey,.

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite L300 (PSLBGE series) computer laptop. It has 4 GB of RAM, so I installed Windows Vista Ultimate 64 on that.

Problem is that on the Toshiba site there are only drivers Vista32 and with those that I found online, the wireless adapter works, but it keeps disconnecting at random times. It works fine until it stops randomly, there is no message "Network cable" unplugged

He let go the IP address but I tried to keep a 'ping t' on and it gives "the request exceeded" for a period of time and then it comes back.

    What should I do?
    Thank you

    Hello

First of all, it would be interesting to know what you have exactly the WLan card.

I know you could use some WLan drivers from this Toshiba WLan page:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

In addition, I recommend turning off some options that affect the WLan in energy saving feature.

First turn off in energy-saving WLan card properties. (device-> card Manager WLan-> properties-> energy saving)
Then check the power options of Vista-> wireless adapter settings > power save Mode

Here this Toshiba doc could be useful for finding these settings:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD84026Q0000R01.htm

Finally and above all the Advanced tab in-WLan card-> properties > Device Manager contains some useful WLan settings that might increase WLan performance

    Welcome them
