Satellite L300 needs 3 minutes to start the Vista

My brand new L300 now takes 3 minutes at the start of pressure on desktop screen. I thought it would be much faster. Is - this standard?

The laptop needs more start the Vista because there are many processes that load in the background.

If you want you could disable some processes in MSCONFIG-> Startup tab

In addition, you must update the Tempro tool.
But to be honest I would like to disable this tool too because it of not really necessary.
It informs you about the new updates on the Toshiba page.

Good bye

Is there anything else I can try to format my drive back to factory settings

    Hello!

I had a similar problem on the first time I used my recovery disks. They stopped at and I can't complete installation.
Anyway, I started from a normal Windows XP disk to format the drive HARD integer first, and I deleted all partitions. Then I booted from the disc of recovery again and it worked now! :)
Maybe it works for you also. It s worth a try!

Last point but not less perhaps the recovery discs are rough or something else. You can create the floppy again?

  • Satellite A200-1N needs 10 minutes to start

My satellite A200-1N takes about 10 minutes from start-up until it gets to the desktop and can be used?
I'm sure that's much worse progressivel months? I removed almost all startup files, but nothing helped.

    Hello

Have you installed new operating system on the HARD drive?
Which option SATA to be selected in the BIOS: AHCI or compatible mode?

Usually, compatibility mode could slow down the performance of the HARD disk and the unit would need more to start.

  • Satellite L300 - 16L: bootmgr image is corrupt. the system cannot start

Bootmgr image is corrupt. the system cannot start

    Why is this?

Have we lost all files etc on the laptop?

    Its a Toshiba L300 - 16L 'versatile Base '.

Any help would be great - thanks

    Wayne

Well, the system on the HARD drive seems to be corrupted.
Who knows why, but it happens sometimes, it s nothing unusual and, therefore, it s always recommended to backup the data always

The files are not lost, but you are not able to start the unit.

    What you can do?
Well, you can grab the laptop again.
By using the HARD drive recovery option (press F8, repair my computer, drive HARD recovery) or by using the recovery disk

But this will format the HARD drive and you will lose data.
If you want to get access to the data, I recommend booting of live CD WinPE and BartPE.

    Google for more details...

    Hello!

All the drivers and tools can be downloaded from the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

You can search your laptop (Satellite L300) and download the drivers. Install it and that s all.

I m wondering that you founded the forum, but not the drivers for the laptop. :)

  • Satellite L300 - 1 9 does not start safe or normal mode

    Hello

My computer does not load to the top of the security mode or normal mode.

Although Macafee, my virus protection software provider believe their recent problems are to blame they have offered no solution and instead asked me to load windows with my "installation disk".

I can't find it, where to do it? (p.s. my computer is the Satellite L300 - 9 1 series.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

If you are not able to start Windows try first HARD drive recovery option:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

If this does not work, you need the recovery disc you can order here:

  • Satellite L300-1 has 3 - slow start WinXP SP3

    Hello everyone

Recently, I installed Windows XP (service pack 3) on my laptop * Satellite L300-1 has 3 (Dual core T3200, 3G of RAM) *.
There is a problem: starting time on the computer and enter in Windows is too long (about 60 seconds)
I have not any application on my laptop, and I didn't have this problem when it had Windows XP (service pack 2)
Would you please help me on why this problem exists?
    Thanks for your cooperation!

You must determine what is the cause of the delay. It could be a driver incompatibility.

Google "Bootvis". Its a Microsoft utility that records everything that happens during startup and displays a grid with delays in the services, drivers, peripheral, etc...

  • Satellite L300-29V - failed to initialize for the logon process

    Hello

Trying to upgrade my Satellite L300 - 29V Vista Home Premium to the Toshiba provided Win 7 Home premium with the help of the upgrade DVD Toshiba. I tried this many times now with no success. On each attempt, I get the message "* logon process initialization failed - the Interactive logon process initialization has failed. For more details, please see the event log. "*.

At this point, the mouse is active, but none of the keyboard keys control apart from the pointer appears only on the area of the event, enter and esc. Pressure on one of them or by clicking on the OK button or Cancel will be empty of the screen. A minute later, the blue screen of death will be appear and disappear quickly, after that, I have the option load Win 7 or return to Win Vista. Do go back to Vista (which I did several times that I care to remember) is not a problem and the laptop runs without problem later. At any time I am able to view the event log.

I followed the instructions given by the upgrade DVD, IE. removing the drivers and continued on the upgrade to Windows 7. I've updated the mobile site to download drivers/software Toshiba in order to have the machine as much upto date possible - everything to nothing is outside having more drivers to remove using the upgrade DVD.

The only thing I did is to back up my data and recover Vista to factory settings and load on top of Vista in this way.

But before that I'm looking for the Forum of Toshiba for any useful advice - someone else has had this problem or does anyone know a way around this - if so I would appreciate your help.

    See you soon

    Dleifynot

It is really strange. I've updated Qosmio x 300 and Satellite A500 by using Toshiba upgrade kit.
    No problem at all.

Did you follow instruction as described on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9902P60000R01.htm?

  • Can satellite L300-1BV - I ask Toshiba for the installation CD?

    Hello

How could I go ask Toshiba for the installation CD? My laptop (L300-1BV) came with the pre-installed operating system, so I can ask them for the CD?
But I don't know how I'd go to this topic.

    Any advice?

    Hello

I think you mean the Toshiba recovery disc. Is this correct?

If yes you can create yourself Toshiba recovery disc. So start the Toshiba recovery disc creator to create this diskette.
This disc you create operating system preinstalled with all the drivers and tools of Toshiba. It s also called settings factory or let's say the same thing that you started the laptop time first.

Normally, you get a recovery reminder message and I think that this information could be useful for you:

  • Re: Satellite L300 - vertical lines of color on the screen

    Hello
All of a sudden my Satellite L300 has many colored lines running up and down the screen.
have never seen this before on any pc, so do not know what could be the cause.

have tried a search on this forum but found nothing relevant.

need to know if its worth trying to fix...

Failed to contact Toshiba other than the robot which is useless.

    Thank you

I can't say for sure, but it might be faulty display.
What you can try is to connect the external monitor or TV to the laptop and check if there is a problem on an external device. In case contrary it comes to the display and it should be replaced.

Googling around you can check how much you must pay for the display again and do a rough estimate, if Exchange is the right option or not.

  • Satellite L300 - drive CD/DVGW cannot start (Code 39)

    Satellite L300 - CD/DVGW SD-L622A - device cannot start (Code 39)

I have not really used the player for a while now, but it was working fine when I set up the laptop.
Now, I recently noticed that when I go to my computer, it shows three years not DVD player. I went to properties and Device Manager and it says only: "device cannot start (Code 39).

I have downloaded the driver and re-installed but still does not work.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

Can you please tell me which driver you have reinstalled? AFAIK for optical disc drive there is no separate driver.

In any case put code 39 as a search term in this forum and you will find the solution to this. ;)

  • Satellite L300-21F - where can I find the serial number?

The ink on the toshiba money serial No./model No. Panel at the back of my laptop rubbed off after only a week of use, when I bought the pc last year. I now have a problem with my touchpad registers is not the movement of finger-cursor or shots at normal pressure. I have to press more strong most of the time for the action to be recorded. A third of the time it works fine at normal pressure.

It is still under warranty. Unless someone can tell me of a possible reason for this [someone]? so I guess I should probably send it in for repair.

Where can I find the serial No. information? It is stored electronically on windows anywhere? I have only a rough idea of what is the serial number - I managed to write most of it when I noticed that he had started to rub. I don't think that my laptop is saved online and I don't have the paperwork that came with the laptop in its box.

    Thanks for any help

    null

    Hello

I m wondering really that you can read the serial number on the underside of the t more after a week not where you use Notepad?

In any case, I have the Satellite L300 too with Windows XP preinstalled. If I start Diagnostic PC Toshiba tools I can visualize all the details on my laptop and see also the serial number.
    Check this box!

Are you can access BIOS by pressing the ESC key?
    Select this check box.

But to be honest, it sounds like a BIOS problem, and in the worst case, you will need to ask the technician to mobile to help.
