Satellite L300D-01N - BIOS version original need

Hello

had a bad bios flash when you try to apply PSLC8-PSLE8-180 - WIN.exe (Ver 1.80, 10/27/2009) updated the bios of my Satellite L300D-01N, model # PSLC8C-01N019

now, the unit does not come on at all - I'm trying to restore it to work but it is impossible to find a copy of the bios file updated (from the active windows self-extracting program Toshiba update bios) during installation
(I tried to extract it on another pc that the portable original is a brick now but still no luck)

I was able to confirm that I can get the system to the laptop using the CRC, but I need a copy of the * original * BIOS that came with these units so I can reflash.
does anyone have a copy of the original bios this device before you apply this update (ver. 1.8 2009-10-27)?

Please note that I was not myself tried this update of the BIOS, so I don't have a copy of the original anywhere.

Can you send me a copy please?

Thnaks a lot

Hi lostboy77,

BIOS reflash is possible only to an authorized service. If the BIOS update has filed, you can do nothing. :(

I know it's hard to hear, but you must understand that the update of the BIOS is always somewhat risky and if it wasn t flashed correctly, your laptop won't boot any more. So it of not so easy a Windows Update

Anyway, here you can get a quick and professional help:

Do any of you know if crisis mode-recorery is available for laptop P200?
What version of PHLAS16. EXE is required and in what mode the disk has to be create (native DOS mode)?

I bought a USB external floppy drive and try the last days, but unsuccefully.

    Kind regards. Yves (France).

    Hi dude

    That s a pity :(
The update of the BIOS is always a tricky process and there is always a small piece of risk.
Usually, if the BIOS update has failed then you need a help of a technician of the ASP.

The point is that you would need an update of the traditional BIOS to reflash the chip for the BIOS again.
But the Toshiba driver page provides only the victory of the BIOS which can be updated only from Windows OS-based.

Therefore, you will need to contact a local ASP which might help you.

    Dude good luck

  • Satellite L300D - update BIOS 1.3 to 1.8

    Hello

You are looking for information update on flashing blind model above with a disc of MS-MS-BACK/Win98 boot and BIOS 1.8 file raw extracted the exe of 1.8.
I followed the guide, but none of the key combinations I've tried seems to work (F, Fn + F, R, B, Fn + B).

I have confirmed my laptop Windows 8.1 starts on the USB that I created and that I have the BIOS BIOS file. FD

If anyone has had any success with this in the last 2 years, your information would be appreciated.

AFAIK BIOS update proposed by Toshiba's WIN version only. With other words BIOS can be updated by running the preinstalled Windows operating system.

It is unclear to me that you can download files of the traditional BIOS update. This update has been used long ago, I think that before Vista OS was available on the market.

  • Satellite A100-369 - BIOS password was needed all of a sudden

    Hello world!
I have a Satellite A100-369 psaare04m00dit. After a few tries to install windows 7, (sth has not worked since the restoration of DVD Toshiba) bios password was necessary.

In fact, no password has been before and... have no idea what would be the password.
Is there a way how can I reset the passwd for my s/n?
I bought this laptop 4 years ago... Thank you!!!

I use Toshiba laptop computers and, as far as I know, the BIOS password can be set only.
BIOS password can be done via BIOS advanced or preinstalled Toshiba tools options.

    Has anyone access your laptop?

  • Satellite C855D-16V - BIOS & HDD password - need information

HI - just bought a new C855D-16V, wiped the Windows 8 operating system and installed Windows 7. I see that the BIOS has options for passwords BIOS and HARD drive, and I would like to use one of them to secure my data.

I am looking for a detailed explanation of how they work, and what effect they have, how secure and reliable they are. HARD drive password protect the drive if removed and mounted on a Linux system, for example? Is it possible to export a key emergency? BIOS PW lock the HARD drive, or just stop the motherboard to boot? Can't find anything via google and the "user manual" is useless.

As above, I'm NOT trying to bypass or delete an existing password. I am to decide if the BIOS or HARD drive offer enough protection. I'd use Truecrypt, but it doesn't work well with backup utils like Macrium & speakers.

Can someone link me to a good detailed explanation of these options, please?

    Thank you!

  • Satellite A100-691 - BIOS Version 1.70 - encryption HD

    Hello!

I wondered about the function to protect the hard drive in the bios with a password. What's another ' If-password-correct-go-on-booting"-function or he really to encrypt the hard drive and protects me from data theft, even when the hard drive is being adapted to another laptop, which does not have the password?

    Best regards

    Hello

BIOS password is not the same as the HARD drive password. HARD drive password is saved directly on HARD drive and there is no chance to do something without this password. Password BIOS will block the use of the laptop and no one will be able to boot your laptop, but on this way, the content of the HARD drive is not 100% sure.

  • Satellite L300D - installed XP and now my wifi does not work

I spent from Vista to XP and now my wifi does not work. I was told that I don't have the drivers.
Can someone help me? I have a Satellite L300D-01N. Please help me, I don't know much about this kind of stuff.

    Thank you

You can download drivers Toshiba from here: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

There is however no driver XP for the L300D. But I found a LAN driver for XP wireless that would work.

    Select:
    Laptop
    Satellite Pro
    Satellite Pro L series
    Satellite Pro L300

    Download and install
-Wireless Lan Driver Realtek Semiconductor Corporation Windows XP 6.1116.1226.2007

If this does not work, you can have an Atheros Wireless LAN card. If this is the case, look at the other models for an Atheros Wireless LAN Driver XP.

  • Need help to recover a bad BIOS flash on Satellite L300D-01

I need your help to fix my laptop because the BIOS is not included in the guarantee.

    What happened:

I was downloading all the drivers from the site Web of Toshiba to make a CD-ROM of drivers, in case I need it.
I clicked the update of the BIOS when I drag and drop into a new folder and the BIOS start without asking and freezz about 50% I wait 30 min because I know THAT BIOS is critical, but after all this time I have no choice then to power off the computer.

Now when I turn on the computer, I have no disk image trying to read and she.

Now what I want to do is a CRISIS of recovery since this is the only option I have for now.

What I need, is that the BIOS file not the stupid .exe, but a ROM or .bin I think and instruction to do on this particular model.

Thanks for looking for my post and I hope that someone can help me here because repair $80 for a budget laptop is great.

I doubt that you might be able to repair this laptop for yourself.
The fact is that the ROM module has been flashed properly and I guess it must be flashed again using a traditional BIOS version.
This version of BIOS is NOT available on the Toshiba page. Only a victory according to BIOS version.

Therefore, you will need to contact the ASP in your country for a BIOS flashing module.

Mate sorry but I don't see another solution to the problem you.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite L300D (PSLC8C-06T01R) - upgrade of BIOS 1.80 stopped my wireless

Ok. So, my fan was going constantly at high speed, and I know that the BIOS upgrade is a fix for this. So, I updated my BIOS to version 1.80, who on the site Web of Toshiba for my model, says that it is for all models of L300D. The update went well and my laptop restarted in great Vista. BUT now, my wireless is not working. He appears in the Manager of devices like OK and is activated.

When I try to connect to a network, he said that it is impossible to find more networks. It no longer displays same wireless anywhere. I logged a ticket with Toshiba that it lift on the 2nd level, but have yet to receive a call back from them. I can't find the original file from revision of the BIOS try flashing it back either or I would try to find the BIOS 1.80 rev has problems. I have NOT tried reimage yet and do not want to do it unless it's my last alternative. Before anyone asks, yes the wireless switch is on the front and yes it is activated with Fn + F8.

Anyone had this same problem? If so, do you have a solution for this?

Update, I noticed in the BIOS there is NO wireless network settings. Now, it has only a selection onboard network. Seems that Toshiba removed from this update of the BIOS. Now, I need roll back BIOS BUT I can't find the file! UGH! Does anyone know where I could find the BIOS version 1.6 for this model?

    Hello

The default settings in the BIOS load after this update?

Make sure that the WLAN is enabled and therefore use the material combination switch and the FN + F8 key.

By the way: is the LOCAL network card recognized in the Device Manager right now?
