  This error message means that an incorrect boot order is set and the computer tries to start between LAN port to the internal HARD disk space. It should therefore go into BIOS setup and change the boot order. Put the HARD drive as the first boot device internal.

  The error message that you receive indicate that your laptop is trying to start the connection to the LAN rather than from his own hard drive or a CD-ROM. She give me two discs with HP recovery written on them. I was able to get into the Recovery Manager and it loads to the 2% mark and has frozen with the message "error contact HP 1005". Tried several times but never gets beyond the 2%.
