Hi mate,

To be honest your ad is very generally and not detailed. I mean what kind of response to expect now?

In addition, this issue on slow Windows Vista system asked 100 times before I think and if you use the forum search, you should find enough results on this problem.

But I can give you some short tips:
-Defragment your HARD drive
-Uninstall all of the software that you don't need
-Use CCleaner to clean the Windows registry
-Disable the start up programs you don't need msconfig

Good luck! ;)

    > I have a lot of data and images on the disc that I didn't lose

I have bad news boyfriend. The message missing operating system means that the laptop can not find the operating system on the HARD drive. And do you know why the laptop can not find the OS (operating system)?
Because the HARD drive is DEAD!

I had the same behavior, 2 years ago. My 4 year old HARD drive was dead. It was an accident of the head and I lost all my files :(

But fortunately, I created backups on CD so I could restore my photos and my mp3.

  • Satellite M505-9490 - operating system unbootable

So this morning, I rebooted my computer to find it wouldn't boot beyond the Toshiba screen. After that, it becomes black and cannot be persuaded to do anything.
I tried to start in safe mode, but the same thing happens. I can't assume the OS files somehow has been entirely corrupted or the HD is shot.

Part of the confusion is that she worked a-okay and then suddenly, nothing.
Any way to deal with other than reformatting?

    Hello

You can enter the BIOS settings (set by default)?
    Disk recognized and listed correctly?
When you start F12 at startup HARD drive is listed as peripheral start?

What operating system do you use?
If you cannot boot OS in safe mode there must be a serious problem. On this path, it is not easy to say what is happening exactly but maybe you should try to launch the installation of recovery to see if there is full access to the HARD drive. If this does not work, I assume that HDD is troublemaker.

Try to get the new HARD drive for testing purposes.

  • Satellite L300D-13s on flights long-haul

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite L300D-13 s SYSTEM UNIT. Is the Li - ion battery. Model number PA3534U 1BRS. 6 CELLS. As I am on a trip to Australia next week on a flight that lasted 21 hours, is there something I can do or buy to be able to use my laptop for a good length of time?
I'm traveling to Qantas/BA in economy class with a 1 hour stop 3o minutes to Singapore airport.

    Thank you. Craigowl

I don't know what you want to do with your laptop, but in my opinion with the standby power management and optimizing operating system (disable peripheral al you do not use including all background processes), in my opinion, you can use 3 hours, maybe.
Of course, just for Internet and the drafting of certain documents.

I don't think you can use it longer than that.

  • Satelite S3000 - X 4 - "No operating system".

    Help!
My S3000 - X 4 Satellite lost its operating system. He worked quite happily a day and when I went on the other, that he would not start it upward and not reported 'Operating System '.

Looking at the system setup program, the bios did not recognize the HD and simply shows a heart-shaped icon in the Hard Drive section.
System Partition order of Vcom as it is booted from floppy disk shows the drive as being totally free as if it were a new hard drive that had just been installed!
The laptop has never connected to the Internet, where he could have been infected by a virus.

If anyone can help I would appreciate that the laptop is a lot of work, which I just can't afford to lose.

    Hello

I guess that partitions data are lost and the unit doesn t know how to deal with it. I put t believe that it can help, but you can try to remove the HARD drive and put it in again.

You can try to use some data tool. On this way, all data can be saved, but the problem is how to remove on external data storage media. Sorry, but this procedure is not easy.

At the end (with backup or no data), you must pre-install unit again.

  • VN7 791G - does not start the Windows operating system

So I got my Acer VN7 - 791 G for 5 months now and until last month, everything was going fine until suddenly, the system has become VERY slow (operating system and programs have been suspended) and the boot process has long redicilously. To exclude a software problem, that I decided to restore the default computer via Acer recovery, hoping that would solve the problem.

Unfortuantely it's still very slow after a successful reset and all of a sudden one day after a reboot the system decided he did not want to join the opening scene of session windows more and decided to stay on the loading screen Acer or the loading screen 'Prepare auto repair' Acer.

I decided to leave the system to run to see if it would eventually reach the opening of windows session, but he never did and she now does is continue to stay on the Acer loading screen or gives me a black screen with the mouse pointer (nothing happens if I have nothing at this point (, or if I leave it running). Same thing happens when I try to press Alt + F10, it's just a black screen.

As it is still under warranty, I intend to ship to the Acer Service, however I read some bad reviews before I do I wanted to see if:

    (a) someone has had the above question on their model, and
    (b) are the comments that I've read about Infoteam Acer repairs without merit?

    Thank you very much.

Sounds like your hard drive is broken.

  • Satellite 1800 working extremely slow after reinstallation of the operating system

I bought a second hand Satellite 1800. I gathered all the drivers on the site of producer s, but when I formatted the HARD drive and installed Windows XP Home edition (my own copy, not any supplied software) the laptop works extremely slow... before that during the process of reading/writing of HARD drive, you could hear that typical for the sound... now the hard drive is completely silent during operation as it's slow as hell...

I tried to keep up with the web and it turns out that if I reinstalled the OS to Toshiba Recovery CD, it should do the thing... never mind, I didn't know I should have this CD when I bought it... so now I don't... Is there anything I could do about it?
    Help, please

    Q.

    Hello

As far as I know, this camera comes with W98SE and WME. The recovery CD with operating system Windows XP Home edition for this device is not created by Toshiba.

You can install Windows XP Home edition and use all the drivers for the Toshiba download site. I don t know how much RAM use this device, but if the unit has less than 128 MB of RAM you can't wait the machine runs fast.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - clock system is slow

    Hi all,

Since a few days on my Satellite Pro A120 Windows XP system clock is slow (the data are correct).
Usually I realize it after turning on the laptop, sometimes even when the operating system is woking! I tried all types of virus/malware/spyware scan, system restore point. I guess the problem is the used battery from the RTC. Is it possible even if the data is correct?

    Thanks in advance

    > Sice a few days on my Satellite Pro A120 Windows XP system clock is slow (the data are correct).

I'm afraid I n t m understand what you mean by system clock is slow.
The BIOS clock shows incorrect data or time?

Have you tried to change the time in the BIOS and then to check the time in Windows XP?

    Do this!

  • Satellite L300D-200 - I can do a system dual boot?

    Hello

My toshiba satellite OS is Windows Vista Home premium.
Does anyone know if the satellite L300D can have a dual boot of Windows Vista home premium and the Linux operating system?

    Hello

Why it shouldn't be possible to make a system dual boot?

You can install a Linux distro without problem. What distribution do you want to install? If you want Ubuntu I can recommend the Wubi Installer. This tool is very easy to use because it installs Ubuntu as a Windows application.
But of course you can also use another Linux distribution ;)

Last but not least, let me give you a tip: before installing something, make sure you already burned the Toshiba recovery disc. If a problem occurs, you can restore the factory settings every time.

    Good bye

    Hello

You have problems with the laptop?
If not then why you want to do the BIOS? Just because the new BIOS is released?
I would not change anything if my laptop is running correctly.

However, the update of the BIOS requires the VAP (value added package).
So remember that this PPV is installed correctly. If this isn't the case, so far.
