Satellite L350 shows BSOD on startup

When starting my computer, I get the blue screen just before loging in and it keeps saying please wait.
And I have to remove battery and try again

Hello

You can start Notepad in safe mode?
Switch on the device and press F8, and then select Safe mode.

Also if you are not able to start Windows, I would recommend trying to boot from the recovery disk if this is not possible, then a part of the material may be module memory may be affected is defective or HARD drive?

HARD drive can be verified using a tool like Drive Fitness Test. It s worth a try

    Hello!

You can start in safe mode?

I tried a bit with Google and I founded out that the problem could be due to perhaps the HARD drive. In your case I would test with Drive Fitness Test:
    http://www.HitachiGST.com/HDD/support/download.htm#DFT
With the Drive Fitness Test, you can test your HARD drive. Download the CD image, burn it to a CD and boot from it. Then you can test the HARD drive.

  • Satellite L350-12N - beeps during startup

    Hello

I bought this as a refurbished laptop, and I have a problem getting it to start. When turned on, it says welcome to Toshiba screen where you can press the function keys to access the configuration screens, then the screen goes black, makes a continuous beep sound and goes no further. It loads the operating system.

I tried to restore the operating system to the hard drive as described in the manual, but still the same fault. Is this a known indicator of a hardware or software failure?

Any help or advice would be appreciated!

    Hello

To be honest, I still don t understand what you exactly. Do you use F8 at the beginning upward to enter advanced startup options or what?

You have created recovery DVD such as recommended by the reminder of Toshiba? If so, you can try installing the OS using this recovery media.

In any case, enter the BIOS at startup settings upward and set it to default settings. HARD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS settings?

At the end I have to say that it is not easy to say what the problem is here. If please check out what several things and let us know if the HARD drive is recognized correctly, or what will happen if you try to install the OS by using initial recovery media.

So I put in my computer come with recovery disks laptop just reinstall every thing as if I just got it out of the box and I followed the instructions that the Recovery Wizard disk Toshiba says, and as his 'adaptation of the files', I get say Blue error screen "a problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".

    I m needs help!

Thanks for reading, sorry for so much reading to do

The reason why laptop doesn t start (error bootmgr) while the installation is stopped with a BSOD. If you need to reinstall the laptop again.

It looks like a USB problem because I found this in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/945436/en-us

If you have connected the external USB devices to the laptop, remove them.
In the worst case, there is something wrong with the USB ports or controller and the motherboard must be exchanged.

The two 2 GB cards memory sticks works fine individually but

Any help would be welcome. Thank you

    Hi mate,

What new RAM modules that you have bought exactly? For the moment, I think that they are not compatible together and so the BSOD appears. I think you have to use other RAM modules if want 4 GB of RAM.

Also if you run a memory diagnostic tool like Memtest86 doesn't it displays an error if you use the new modules?

  • Satellite L350 - Vista shows only 2 GB of RAM, but I have 4 GB installed

I installed 2 two modules expansion memory of 2 GB each to my satellite L350 that works on Windows Vista Premium.
I bought at Toshiba UK who confirmed that they were the correct modules.

The System Control Panel icon always indicates RAM 2 GB (not 4GB) memory.
If I remove one module 2 GB, the system icon of 2 GB (which is correct) said Control Panel.
I have re-installed the two modules and changed their round in the slots, but the system icon still says 2 GB.

    Hello

You have 32 bit or 64 bit Vista?
First Vista 32-bit is not able to handle 4 GB of RAM. 32 bit OS have a limit, and they can only use about 3 GB of RAM.
Here is some practical information: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB82022E0000R01.htm

You have installed Service Pack 1 for Vista?
How much RAM does the BIOS?

  • Recovery disks does not not for the Satellite L350

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L350, I bought a few years ago

Originally it was a laptop Vista Home premium and I opted for the Toshiba windows 7 upgrade and its been pretty much without problem.

But recently something went a bit weird and things were not only works well (he would not always disconnect you and never seemed to stop correctly) and various other applications does not work properly.

After a few uninstalls, reinstall, scans and patches from Microsoft has done nothing that I decided to take the plunge and use the recovery disc.

I bought a Toshiba when I am the machine initially and had made one myself, before you upgrade windows 7 and a new after.
I still have the windows 7 upgrade DVD so I can apply after if I had to start back on vista.

The only other big change has had an upgrade of RAM 4 GB - I still the original of the RAM, if I need it, but before that there is no hardware problem not reported and chkdsk was also very good.
So for me it was the o/s that was the problem.

I tried now all recovery discs and they all have the same problem of reports that imagex cannot decompress the second frame of the file because it is corrupted to block 90 I n t have this real message at your fingertips
    but can be updated later.

I can t see that I m something wrong, like everything I do is to put the dvd in the drive and reboot the laptop with the F12 key to boot from the recovery DVD and follow the screen controls on.
You use reports from such that previously or I am doing something stupid?

    Thank you

It's very strange that al recovery discs show the same error message. As far as I know when you start recovery image installation that the HARD drive will be formatted, new partitions created, recovery image copied to the second partition of HARD drive and as the last step is the installation of recovery image.
    > I bought a Toshiba when I am the machine initially and had made one myself before the upgrade to windows 7...
Have you tested the two of them in the past?

In General, all you do is right. In my opinion, the problem may be recovery image itself or perhaps HDD has some defect in certain areas.
If you can get the second HARD drive somewhere Exchange it, value default BIOS settings and test the installation of recovery again.

  • Satellite L350-20F - recovery to some discs work point, still no start

    Hello

    Can anyone help please?

I am the owner of a Satellite L350-20F running Vista
After suffering a blow to the laptop it stopped working. (no surprise)
Used recovery disks to restore unity, but nothing happening it restarts just for ants running with microsoft corporation, written slot, then check the disk begins to report any bad sectors, after that it fins it recharges execution of ants again.

Make me blue screen error message every now and again, then go to windows recover screen to launch either startup reapir (made this much time still no progress) or start windows normally.
Tried to fix it but just keep going through the steps to put the disc in and through the repair disk.

Is it easy to change the HARD drive inside (I don't know how the PC but not computer idea mobile)(out of warranty))
I also have a satellite L300 - 25H is poss of their network and to do a full format of broken one to see if that helps?
Is the only thing that I'll be able to reformat the new HARD drive with recovery disks to restore on Vista or will I have to pay for a new OS?

    Thank you very much

    If

    Hello

Maybe it s disc HARD issue you may try to check if the HARD drive is recognized and listed in the BIOS. In order to access the BIOS, you will need to press F2, immediately after the laptop has been turned on.

By the way; here in the forum, you can find a category that offers useful movies how to replace a HARD drive:

We exchanged the batteries completely charged with the same model and the same problem.

    Hello

To me, it looks like a hardware problem
Have you checked the adapter? The power is ON?

Possibly a defective power adapter could be the reason why the battery can not be charged and why the laptop stops during the startup process

Otherwise, it could be an electrical problem of power supply on the motherboard
    That's possible too
