  Conexant audio driver on the European driver of Toshiba page is good.
  You must choose this driver v 3.80.0.0.

  But note; It is very important that you should install SP3 BEFORE install you the audio driver.

  There are some other threads in this forum about it, and the driver is ok.

  I have not found any futher details to my problem in past posts.

  I have Satellite L40-137 (PSL40E) and tried to increase the memory 2 x 1 GB RAM 2x2gb.

  A datasheet, I found a maximum capacity of 4 GB, but with these two circuits, the computer does not start.
  Even if I only install one of them in one of the slots is functioning normally.

  This computer is not able to handle 4GB?

  I have also not found any information on the latest version of the Bios. I have installed V2.80.

  Any help and idea is welcome and sorry for my English.

  Your model of laptop can't handle with 4 GB. Max RAM on this laptop model is only 2 GB.

  Is there any drivers for the L40!

  And Wifi and WLan is the same!
  Check what card WLan you have and download the right driver!

  I bought my laptop (Satellite A215-S5848) with pre-installed Windows Vista with all the drivers and additional programs of Toshiba. But I like about Windows Vista! Now, I want to install Windows XP SP3. But I am worried about the lack of all the required drivers for Windows XP on the official site!
  I found some of them (5) for Windows XP SP3 but (nearly 40) for devices of all the portable.

  Why is it so? Why is there no drivers for Windows XP for my laptop on the website official? Where should I get them, tell me, please? I don't like Windows Vista, and it's just my choise which operating system I'm. Don't you think that such a policy (to force users to change XP on Vista) restrict the rights of customers who'm Windows XP? Where can I find all the XP drivers for my model?

  Regarding Win XP drivers;
  I see that your laptop model is Toshiba USA.
  So if you need drivers (no matter that drivers), then you should check out the Toshiba page we:

  Unfortunately, it seems this page doesn't provide all of the necessary drivers, why? Who knows
  Anyway, the fact that not all drivers have been published on the page shouldn't t prevent you from installing XP.

  I recommend collection the drivers of your own hands.
  Many laptops are equipped with the same features and so pilots released for other series of laptops should run on your laptop too.

  Check the Toshiba European page too and check some drivers released for Satellite A200/A210 series.
  Maybe some drivers single would go too.

  Laptop models with the 5 at the end as Satellite L305D are U.S. and please look for drivers on the US page only models of laptops.

  Helen if you need drivers for the mobile Australian model visit Toshiba Australia.
  Australian laptops are not tested with Toshiba stuff offered on the European page. So if you use this it might work but... maybe not.

  Hey Jonga please don't be crazy about me but a lot of people here have problems for WXP running on the new laptop models and now you come with much older W2000.

  Can you please understand that the hardware components for Vista are designed on the basis of entirely new standards and if you need drivers for older operating system happy trying to check the support site for hardware manufacturers (chipset, graphics, sound).

  I know that Toshiba does not support Windows XP Home edition for all new models of laptops and W2000 is not certainly supported.

  I need downgrading to Windows XP Home edition to my new Satellite L40 - 12 X. For now, Toshiba does not provide driver Windows XP Home edition for my laptop, exept for Atheros Wi - Fi.

  So I found the drivers for each device directly from the only supplier site except for the modem of Toshiba. Vista driver does not work and the list of devices in its .inf file tells that the chipset is Agere.

  On the site of agere, I have not found what I need... anyone can help me?

  I had the same problem on my L40 - 13G. Before installing drivers, you must download and install patch KB888111 and KB835221 for Windows XP. And try to install the XP of satellite L30 drivers (if you have modem with toshiba chipset) or L100 (if you have chipset connexant).
  P.S. sorry but my English is not good - but I hope you understand me :-)

  I recently had to do a clean install of my Satellite A105-S4064 and have had problems to get the right drivers for it.

  On the Toshiba site, it lists only 4 drivers for XP for my model, even if that's what it came installed with. The video driver list and sound do not yet work for me.

  I need drivers for the modem, LAN, video, Audio, please.

  On the page of the Toshiba driver we you can find the right driver for XP graphics card.
  At the moment the page provides a display driver nVidia GeForce (v83.02, 19/01/2006)

  I also found a driver of his right. It s a Realtek audio driver.
  If you need a more recent version, then I recommend to visit the site Web of Realtek and download the newest one.

  But note; the XP SP2 operating system needs and before install you the audio driver you must first install the Microsoft Hotfixes; KB888111 and KB835221
  After the installation of these two patches, you can follow with another audio driver installation.

  It also seems that this notebook would support an Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection - 10/100 Base-TX Lan card
  So, you can visit the Intel page to get the right Win XP driver for this Lan chip.

  Unfortunately I have to disappoint you. Satellite M30 is quite old and it will certainly not supported in Vista. Because of this, you will not be able to find a driver for Vista on Toshiba download page. As far as I know Just notebooks with Vista capable sticker must be supported.

  I have Satellite M70 and it is also not supported, but I managed to install Vista and everything works fine. Driver audio I found Googling autour.

  I recently got a new satellite U305-S5097...
  I discovered that Vista cannot run a very important application, I used to work... I use paritioning the hard drive and then put Windows XP SP2 on the new partition.

  1. device base system... this guy appear as three
  2 Ethernet Controller... it seems that two, but when I downloaded the driver LAN we're missing... need driver for each other
  3. SM Bus controller
  4. video Controller
  5. video Controller (VGA Compatible)

  Please I need help to understand this.
  Also, I found that there are no ports on the Device Manager.
  I need desperately for my work.

  You must use the Toshiba site for the driver download.

  1 - system base of the unit is usually the SD card controller. I think that you need to install the driver for the SD card.

  2. If you have installed the LAN card driver, then you need to install additional WLan card driver. For this check first of all that the WiFi card has been installed and visit the WLan card manufacturing site for the XP driver.

  3 SM bus controller-> install compatible utility Intel chipset. This can be found on the Intel page.

  5 and 6, the graphics driver are on the site of graphics card manufacturer. If this laptop is fitted with eth GPU Intel download the driver from the Intel page!
