Satellite L40 - 13G - need a more powerful battery

Hello! No, my current battery is PA3591U-1BRS. I need a battery that can give me more than 2 hours of work. Can you advice something?

Thank you!

Hello

I know that the battery (Li-ion, 4 cells, high rate, 2000mAh) PA3591U-1BRS, which is compatible with the Satellite L40.

If you need a stronger one that you take the appearance on the values of mAh. The higher mAh value means a longer battery life and better performance.

But unfortunately, I found only the PA3591U-1BRS a compatible framework.

I need audio drivers for windows XP for satellite L40 - 13G? I try to download it from the site intel and Analog Devices Web site, but it does not work.

P.S. sorry - but my English is not very well ;-)

In my opinion, it takes a bit. Toshiba has begun to support of Windows XP Home for new preinstalled Vista laptops but obviously your Satellite L40 is still not on the list. I'm afraid you have to wait his turn.

  • Satellite L40 - 13G has 667 memory but works at 533

Satellite L40 - 13G have original built in 2 x 512 667 of memory but memory works only at 533, why is this?

I flashed the latest 2.20 bios of the Toshiba site.
I did an upgrade on this model by changing its processor,
Original image was celeron M 440 and now is core 2 duo T5600,

The chipset on this model is 945GM and it supports core2 duo processor.

Now main FSB is 667 for the cpu but memory works only at 533 dual Chanel
and it's strange because the memory is 667?

BIOS doesn't have a Setup for memory clock.

    Thanks for the help!

    Hello

If you have read your question, you will get a response.

Your machine comes with a Celeron M, which has a FSB of 133 Mhz. This means that the whole machine has been designed (including the BIOS!) to work with that CPU and JUST with this CPU regardless what the chipset is capable of. This means that no matter what CPU and memory you´ve installed in your machine, the FSB will collaborate in the FSB 133 Mhz (533 Mhz), but your Coreduo needs another front bus.
And because the BIOS is programmed to put the FSB 533 won´t never be able to do your mem running at 667 Mhz. Maybe if you can reprogram your bios.

    Welcome them

  • X satellite L40-12: need of Modem driver for Windows XP Home edition

I need downgrading to Windows XP Home edition to my new Satellite L40 - 12 X. For now, Toshiba does not provide driver Windows XP Home edition for my laptop, exept for Atheros Wi - Fi.

So I found the drivers for each device directly from the only supplier site except for the modem of Toshiba. Vista driver does not work and the list of devices in its .inf file tells that the chipset is Agere.

On the site of agere, I have not found what I need... anyone can help me?
    Thank you

    Massimo

I had the same problem on my L40 - 13G. Before installing drivers, you must download and install patch KB888111 and KB835221 for Windows XP. And try to install the XP of satellite L30 drivers (if you have modem with toshiba chipset) or L100 (if you have chipset connexant).
P.S. sorry but my English is not good - but I hope you understand me :-)

  • Satellite L40 - 13G - after installing XP I have no sound

I had just got my laptop reformatted with XP Pro service and have no sound. Downloaded drivers for the realtek and still no sound

    Help please

    REDA

    Hello

Satellite L40 is equipped with a sound card high definition and this means that you need to install SP3 first, then the audio driver.
SP3 contains two patches from Microsoft you need for this sound card.

So remove the audio driver installed, install SP3 and then reinstall the audio driver.

  • The update of the BIOS on Satellite L40 - 13G

    Hello everyone!
I want to update my BIOS, but don't know how to do it. I looked at the instructions on a site:

    Option 2: update with CD-ROM

1 extract the zip file containing the BIOS upgrade to a temporary folder.
    2. in the folder temporary three subfolders will be generated. "docs", 'Update - 3.5' disc', 'Update - CD - R or CD - RW"
    3. how to make a bootable CD-ROM please read the *.pdf file in the "docs" folder
    4. make sure that the laptop is plugged into the sector.
    5. turn off the laptop.
    6. place the CD-ROM containing the upgrade of the BIOS in the optical disc drive.
    7. turn on the laptop with the F12 key.
    8. the BIOS boot menu appears. Select CD/DVD or CD-ROM symbol with the arrow keys. Press "enter".
    9. the notebook starts from upgrading the BIOS CD.
    10. a boot menu is displayed. Select the point of updating the BIOS by using the arrow keys. Press "enter".
    11. the BIOS update process begins. Do not turn off the laptop during the update.
    12. If the update is complete, follow the instructions on the screen.

Downloaded this update to the bios: bios - 20070904123621.zip
Page with the updated file: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_bios.jsp

Then I unzipped the zip... and don't see three directories, who wrote in the statement (from above).

Help please, I have to do. Or how can I update my BIOS?

    Thank you!

    Hi Alexey

Can you please tell me why you need BIOS update? As far as I know Satellite L40 is the new laptop of the L series. Maybe a few days and necessary BIOS update. Why?

    Have you noticed any problems?

  • Re: Satellite L40 - good need driver for FN keys for volume up/down

    Toshiba Satellite L40 - 12K

Provided with Windows Vista. I installed Windows 7 Professional 32-bit (clean install, not an update).

Virtually everything (including the top row of keys Fn, for example to change the brightness of the screen) works fine with only Windows installed. Do not work only the Fn arrow up/down keys to change the volume of the speaker.
What driver Toshiba should I install this? It available for Windows 7 32 - bit are:
    -Card Reader Controller
    -Chipset utility
    -Free Config
    -DVD Player update checking tool
    -Display driver
    -Modem Driver
    -Registry Patch (2 different ones)
    -TEMPRO
    -Value Added Package
    -Driver LAN wireless
None of them seem to apply in particular

    TIA

    Kees

In general the FN feature is controlled by utility flash card and this utility is part of the additional package of Toshiba.

One last thing: offered Win7 drivers for upgrade are so when you upgrade Vista to Win7.
If you clean Win7 OS installed on your machine, I can imagine that some features will not be there so try to install Vista stuff like hotkey utility.

You have to play with this and hope that everything will work properly.

  • Satellite L40 - 13G: Bios update is not on Vista SP1

I have a Satellite L40 13 G and the latest Bios update refuse to update.

I'm trying to update my BIOS because the laptop freezes randomly in time and I have problems of "graphic design" where the lag games where there is no form of explosion such as gunshots or a bomb.

There are no instructions, not in the exe and certainly not on the screen. If I didn't know how Flash a BIOS I would certainly not choose the .bin BIOS file in the directory between all DLL files.

    Thank you
    Yahweh.

    Hello Jako

Can you please tell me what your problem is now? What questions are you writing about?
If I understand you well you have correctly updated the BIOS. Am I right about that?

And what now? What do you mean?

  • Satellite L40-139 - need driver Windows XP Home edition for 'ethernet '.

Please can you send me the link to Satellite L40 ethernet control model of laptop for Windows XP Home edition?

    Hello

Satellite L40-139 belongs to the PSL40E series. Am I wrong?
You can check the serial number of your laptop. It should be placed somewhere at the bottom of the unit. Check all labels.

Anyway, the Toshiba driver European page doesn't provide XP drivers for this series at this time. Seems you have to wait a bit until all pilots to be released!

For the only moment that two versions of the BIOS for L40 PSL40E if released.
The BIOS must be updated to the XP version, if you want to use XP on this laptop.

By the way; It seems that this series is supported by the Base map - TX Ethernet Realtek 10/100.
Then you can try the LAN driver from the site Web of Realtek. Should also work.

    Good bye

  • Satellite P100 - can I use more powerful processors?

I have model P100-324 with Core 2 Duo T7400 2, 16GHz and wonder what more powerful CPU, I can install in my notebook.

T7400 uses bus 667 MHz. As says P945 datasheet, this chipset supports 800 and 1066 bus MHz as well. So in theory, we can install more powerful processors, of cource, no more than does not 35-40Watts TDP. But the BIOS of the P100 can become a bottleneck, not allowing to work with the series T7600, T7800 CPU t8xxx or.

So, what more powerful processors are known to work with P100?

    Hey Buddy,

Short and crisp: there is no support or sheets of more powerful processors because this isn t upgrade supported taken:
