Satellite L450D-119 - keyboard just stop typing

Hello

We have a L450D-119 operating under Windows 7 64-bit.

Occasionally, the keyboard simply stops typing. There is no explanation and no repeatable case. It doesn't seem to be after any repetitive activity such as suspend or Hibernate, it just seems to happen. A reboot fixes the problem.

It is worth noting that when the keyboard stopped accepting characters the mousepad and keys still work.

It's my second L450D-119, the first was returned with 24 hours for the same reason.

It seems that it always has to a certain extent, and the user, not me, I might add, he has simply seen as a gene and restart - what is clearly unacceptable.

My choices are to repair or take it back. So by posting on this forum I hope to find a solution, but if nothing came on I shall be forced to take it back and this time it's for a refund and no Exchange.

Thank you for your help and suggestions

    Hello Graham

Sorry, but your problem is not easy to understand. After reading these two sentences, it is not easy to tell if there is a general problem with the keyboard or what.
When you enter the BIOS settings can use keyboard to scroll through the options and tabs of the BIOS?

Since when did you notice this problem?
You have created a recovery media? If Yes, please try to use it and install original recovery image.

  • Satellite P305D-S8828 keyboard missing my typing and FN + F9 does not work

    Hello everyone.

I'm new on this forum. Im sorry for my bad English right now. I hope I can explain my problems.
I just bought a laptop computer to the United States with a great price. It's a great laptop, but there are 2 problems and they have big problems of r for me.
It's Toshiba Satalite P305D-S8828 which is not available in europe, only sell in the United States.
    This is the link:
    http://explore.Toshiba.com/laptops/satellite/p300/P305D-S8828

Laptop keyboard seems kind and gentle and good typing, but especially on a msn messenger box or forum page response, when I type, he's missing part of my typings? I mean, I used to use my quick keyboard, but it's like he's not pressing all the buttons, but I really rely on the letters. So the things I write are mixed, not understandable cos of lack of the letters.

This isn't my first laptop. I used a bit more before, but nothing like this has happened before.
It doesn't always happen, but generally occurs.
I don't know what to do and this really do my head.
I use Vista Ultimate Turkish. Don't you think that it is an OS problem? Or maybe the bios? More later (v1.90) I heard the same problem happened to some Fujitsu Siemens laptops, but it has been resolved with a bios upgrade. I hope you understand my problem and someone help me.

My second problem is that my FN + F9 (function key) does not work. But some of them work, like FN + F1, FN + F2, FN + F3... work but FN + F9 does NOT work? :(
I want to disable the touchpad when I plug my usb mouse, but I can't do it using FN + F9. My touchpad driver is installed and my OS is Vista Ultimate. Could you help me for that too?

I hope that answering my questions.
    Thank you now

Go to the Toshiba site us and download the latest version of the BIOS. Having the latest version of the BIOS is important on the new models.

For the issue of the Touchpad, download and install the latest package of added value for the P305D and reinstall the driver from the Touchpad.
If you have installed the drivers for your mouse USB (for example drivers Logitech or Microsoft), remove them. They may be in conflict with the Touchpad

  • Satellite L305-S5919 - keys just stop working

    I have a Satellite L305 - S5919 & first my ESC, Q, 4 keys stopped working.
I've only had it for 4 months what has happened. Does anyone know why these keys would simply stop working all of a sudden & I could do about it?

I called Toshiba support & they want back me, but I do not do without my computer so would like to fix it on my own. My keys do not hold or seems broken or anything. They are similar to those of others. OK yesterday my little boys spilled my Mtn dew on my keyboard, where is my space bar. My space bar is stiff so ive been told I can jump off keys & clean under it but looked that up & read you can possibably break if you put a lot of pressure. I can't afford to break it because I don't have any other insurance when I bought in July so I did the 1 year warranty for whats wrong cannot be the way I took it my fault or I have to pay to hget fixed it. Can I jump the SPACEBAR off? & If so, what are the chances of breaking? If I can pop off is their a certain direction, I need to pull up?

Thanks for reading and any help you can give!

    Hello!

I can t tell you why this happens with your keys, but don t forget that the keyboard is a mechanical part of the laptop such things can happen at any time. I guess you're not the first person who had such a problem. ;)

In addition, you can t return only unique keys. If certain keys n t work more, need to replace the entire keyboard. Of course you can do it yourself if you want to go to an ASP but if replace you that you pay for a new keyboard.
I think that the repair shouldn't t take a lot of time. Normally, the keyboard is replaced in a few minutes. Just talk to the technicians.

  • Satellite L450D-119 recovery is stuck in a loop of reboot running TUPIT

It's the kind of a question answered itself to halfway!

I had to reinstall Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - bit "Product recovery" DVD from Toshiba. He went through a complex process involving many Windows CMD copy stuff on a HD recovery partition (I think). Then, he went through the installation of Windows 7 from scratch. Then it restarts Windows 7, but whenever it starts, it opens a full screen splash screen saying "the installation may take several minutes. Please do not interrupt or shut down the computer. This continues for about 5 minutes or more (sometimes much more), then it restarts and does all this many times.

I let her do this about 10 times and got bored. It may be interruped with CTRL-ALT-DELETE, but if I try to start the task from the Task Manager window manager is immediately covered by the start screen. I can also break the command prompt that starts everything, but then the PC restarts after a short while. I had to stop once and he seemed to be in a State of some drivers, but the progress bar was not progressing.

When it starts every time, the splash screen graphic Windows, it displays "Preparing for first use Windows" or something similar and it goes through the same process.

    Is this normal?

An update, I pass by another loop 10 min + while I was typing this and it ends up wearing a screen asking me in user name, password and the input locale. My heart is squeezed then I saw "Preparing Windows for first use" and then "preparing your desktop... '. ", but fortunately he got at the installation of McAfee.

It has now completely installed, but it would have been nice for the booklet to tell what he do and give us some advance warning that this will take hours...

Yes this is normal. Laptop restarts again and again and the installation of any recovery may take about two hours.
I put t understand how you can say he's bored. It is the installation process which should not interrupt. If you do this, you can start from the beginning. Please contact don t nothing until the installation of recovery is not over.

You are right. This statement about a few minutes is a good joke. On my laptop, it takes more than two hours for a complete installation.

In the end, I must say that this recovery facility is very uncomfortable.
    What do you think?

    Hello.

The problem is that my laptop keyboard has suddenly stopped working. It does not at all.
Although it responds until Windows loads up, which means that it is a software failure. External USB keyboard works too.
Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

In this case, I would try a system restore to an earlier point. Maybe this can help get rid you of this problem.

  • Satellite L450D - 11G - Microphone has stopped working

This built-in microphone now worked all of a sudden, it stopped.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled again and made the webcam as well - the web cam works. The microphone is in the Device Manager as default, but it simply does not either sound. I tried most of the thing which I found by Google. What should I do?
Is this perhaps a microphone failure?

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

Have you already checked the Windows audio settings if the Microphone is on and the Microphone sound level is not set to 0?
Just go in Control Panel > hardware and sound > manage audio devices

Usually the Microphone should be listed under devices to record if it s listed in Device Manager

    What operating system you have?

  • Satellite L505-119 - keyboard does not work after the spill incident

Recently had a minor spill on my laptop incident. Quickly, I removed the battery and the power and let it dry for a few days.
After two days I tried starting but without success. Then I carefully opened the laptop and carefully cleaned and dusted it all the way to the motherboard. Surprisingly, it started working perfectly again, with the exception of the keyboard and I don t know what to do.

I tried making sure that the band is correctly inserted into the motherboard of countless times and tried to uninstall and reinstall the keyboard drivers, but both were not helping. What I want to know is; If there is anyone of you who have had the same problem, and if there is a way to check if it s my keyboard or motherboard that is broken.

    Thanks in advance

    >... If there is a way to check if it s my keyboard or motherboard that is broken.
In my opinion, there is only one way to check: replacement keyboard. You should test the functionality with the new keyboard to see if everything is OK.

  • Satellite L755 - DVD player just stopped working

This morning used the cd player to listen to music while I worked. I changed the cd, and another would not play. After checking a few CDs, I decided that the drive will not read anything.

The details are that I close the tray of the drive, the cd spins but only a little. Then he stops and try again. After about 5 unsuccessful attempts, it stops completely. The goal seems clean, and the lens is always about 2/3 of the way toward the outer edge of the cd that I wasn't expecting (haven't start in the middle?). Something also makes a noise of rattling, not normal either. No evidence of foreign bodies in the drive, so the trigger which could be a failure of the engine.

My amateur guess is he's dead, but it would be good if I could relive. There are outages I can do?
If this isn't the case, I'll have to buy an external hard drive that I'm guessing that a replacement toshiba will be expensive.

Try Please clean the lens and try it with this CD which worked again. Test also with original DVD movies.
    ODD reads DVDs?

    Original title: strange keypad lock

Every so often (3 times today, which could be a record) my keyboard just stop accepting the input. My mouse will continue to function. It seems to be meaningless with where I type, but usually it's on a web application. The only solution I found to make it work again is to restart. • Satellite L450D-128 stops responding after about 2 minutes in Normal Mode

    Hello

I just got a new Satellite L450D-128 running Windows 7.
Whenever I run Windows in normal mode, all and stops responding for about 2 minutes after that the office and I have to manually turn off the laptop.

When I run Windows in safe mode, it seems to work ok, but I prefer not having to use safe mode indefinitely.

Anyone know how I might be able to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

First try to retrieve the device.
It's not difficult, and the whole process won't take long.

Turn the unit on and press F8
Then choose fix my computer-> Toshiba HDD recovery

This will start the installation of the new.

I think that this is necessary in order to check if this problem is not related to software compatibility issues

If the question will always be present while we should follow the investigation
I mean, in this case, that a hardware problem would be possible

  • Re: Satellite A215-S7444 just stops after an hour of use

    I have a satellite A215-S7444.
My problem is that if I'm on the computer after about an hour or two the computer just stops.
I already tried to change the power settings management that worked for awhile, but my laptop still turns off after a while.

    Hi Patrick

I'm quite sure that your laptop stops automatically due to the temperature inside the laptop.
It of a simply overheating issue that could be caused by clogged cooling grids.

From time to time it s a good idea to clean the fans. Especially dust prevents the cooling modules works correctly, and therefore the temperature rises.

I made good experiences with the jet of compressed air. These sprays can be purchased from dealers of computer/laptop.
In addition you could try to google for some online also offers.

    Good bye
